On Today's Episode: The spies and Momo catch up with the fleeing Sagan, only for her to unveil her secret weapon, so while the spies have to find a way to keep the mothership in the air or at least guide it away from Paris, Nick and Momo do battle with Sagan's secret weapon in hopes of stopping her before she can do any damage to the city of love. Can the spies triumph in this double-sided struggle?
Act 3: Out For Launch
10:46 P.M. – Paris, France
Sagan's Mothership
Thankfully, the group didn't have to run for too much longer, as they eventually caught up with Sagan, who was standing right in front of a large doorway, no doubt the hangar that housed her secret weapon.
"All right, lady, you might as well give it up now!" Alex shouted. "You have no idea how many 'secret weapons' we've trashed, and this one's gonna be no different!"
"How painfully naïve that you'd say that when you have no idea what this is capable of," Sagan chuckled.
"You're the one being cocky and overconfident!" Melissa exclaimed.
"How about you just show us what you've got in store so we can take it apart?!" Nick proclaimed.
"Well, if you insist," Sagan laughed as she pressed a button on the door controls, causing the doorway to slide open and reveal what appeared to be a high-tech UFO.
"...really? A flying saucer is your big weapon?" Mat taunted.
"Remember the old saying, spies," Sagan quipped as the cockpit opened up and she hopped into it. "Looks can be deceiving."
The cockpit on the UFO closed and Sagan piloted it through a hatch out of the ship and into the city of Paris.
Before any of the spies could discuss a battle plan, the mothership started rumbling slightly.
"...oh, who thinks that was any sort of good?" Bridget wondered.
"It kinda sounds like the ship's starting to fall!" Sam shouted. "No way in hell can we let it crash on the city!"
"But what about Sagan? She's getting away!" Blaine responded.
"Nick and I can take care of that," Momo stated. "I've got some bones that need to be picked, anyway. You all just find a way to stop the ship from falling!"
Nick raised his hand to blast a hole in the side wall with a Final Shine Attack, after which he and Momo made their way out into the city to go after Sagan.
"All right, RiCO, we need your help," Sam proclaimed as she flipped open her X-Powder. "We need to find the nearest navigation control system so we can stop Sagan's mothership from flattening Paris like a pancake, and we need to find it fast!"
"No worries, Sam, just follow the blinking light," RiCO replied, showing off a map of the mothership and the fastest route to get to the navigation control.
Meanwhile, out in the city, Nick and Momo landed on a building to assess the situation when Sagan piloted her UFO close to them.
Sagan grinned wickedly as she pressed a button on the control panel, causing the UFO to shine for a few seconds before unfolding Transformers-style into a large robotic exo-suit.
"Why am I not surprised that you tried this again?" Nick taunted, remembering one of their last tussles with Sagan and Wink Weatherdale. "And even better, you don't have a tacky game-show host to help you out this time."
"Oh, but this exo-suit is enhanced by actual alien technology," Sagan retorted. "So this won't be the same fight as before."
"You're gonna pay for stealing tech from my people!" Momo shouted, extending her claws. "Now bring that thing down here so we can tear it apart!"
"Oh, do try and entertain me!" Sagan laughed as the exo-suit advanced on them, raising its right hand to fire bright green laser beams from its palm.
Nick quickly raised a psychic barrier to defend against the beams while Momo searched for a weak spot in the exo-suit.
"You can't keep this up forever!" Sagan shouted. "So just do me a favor and keel over and die already!"
Momo took a step back before running forward, leapfrogging off of Nick's shoulders, and leaping towards Sagan's exo-suit.
"H-Hey, get off, you freak!" Sagan exclaimed as she tried to shake Momo off of the exo-suit.
"Sorry, but when you steal from someone else, you pay the price," Momo taunted as she stood on the left shoulder of the exo-suit before slashing downwards with her claws, severing the suit's left arm clean off.
Nick made a note to blast the suit's right arm with a Final Shine Attack, leaving the exo-suit without arms...
...or so they thought, as Sagan simply pressed a button on the control panel to disengage the joints of the severed arms and cause the suit's legs to move around and turn into arms instead.
"See, what'd I tell you?" Sagan taunted as the exo-suit flew away from them towards the Eiffel Tower in the distance, forcing Momo to jump off and land on the building by Nick.
"Hey, Nick, can you do a fastball special, if you know what I mean?" Momo asked.
"All over that," Nick responded, taking Momo's hand and ferrying her higher into the air before spinning her around and eventually throwing her towards the retreating exo-suit.
Momo thrust her claws out as she soared towards the exo-suit, and they eventually struck true, sinking deep into the back of the exo-suit.
"No free rides!" Sagan exclaimed as she spun the exo-suit around to shake Momo off.
In response, Momo simply leaped off and started jumping up the side of the Eiffel Tower to keep Sagan distracted.
"Stand still, you little cat-eared garbage heap!" Sagan shouted, unaware that Nick was behind her until he'd blasted the exo-suit in the back with a Final Shine Attack, in the same spot where Momo had jammed her claws into. This caused the exo-suit to spin around wildly.
"Look both ways before crossing tower street," Nick taunted.
"A pretty poor choice of last words, you know," Sagan laughed.
"And that's supposed to mean what?" Nick responded.
"You have no idea what my mothership is doing right now, do you?" Sagan answered. "Without anyone to pilot it, it's going to crash into Paris any moment now, and when it does, the city is done for. You wasted your time by choosing to fight me, you know."
"Oh, I wouldn't count my friends out just yet," Nick chuckled. "They're resourceful."
Almost as if something had been waiting for Nick to say that, the mothership stopped its descent and began to ascend once again, flying away from Paris.
Sagan was so stunned by this development that she didn't notice Momo leaping down from her perch on the Eiffel Tower, swinging both of her claws to once again sever both of the arms from the exo-suit.
"Just stay down already!" Momo exclaimed. "Stop being stubborn for once in your lives!"
The exo-suit transformed one more time, however, turning into what could only be a mockery of the spies' Skyskimmer before taking off towards the retreating mothership.
"Guess that was a bust," Momo groaned as she and Nick took off after Sagan.
"Our rogues' gallery rarely, if ever, surrenders peacefully," Nick quipped. "I can count the amount of times that's happened on one hand, really."
Back on the mothership, the spies all breathed a sigh of relief knowing that they'd saved Paris from being flattened.
"Talk about close shaves, huh?" Clover chuckled.
"No kidding," Mat sighed.
"Here's hoping Sagan didn't get too far..." Sam stated.
No sooner had Sam said that than Sagan's exo-suit came crashing through a nearby wall with Nick and Momo in hot pursuit. The exo-suit transformed again, unfurling a new set of limbs from behind the suit as Nick and Momo touched down and continued to battle with it.
"Would you just piss off already?!" Sagan exclaimed as she haphazardly swung at Nick and Momo. "I'm sick and tired of you spies always ruining my plans!"
"Well, if you don't want your plans to be ruined, then maybe stay in confinement where you belong!" Nick shot back, sending the exo-suit stumbling by way of a Final Shine Attack to its chest.
Momo rushed forward while the exo-suit was stumbling to once again slash its arms off while the other spies in the background all moved to put together the Vortex Blaster.
Sam started first, producing an Electromagnetic Curling Iron and tossing it to Britney. Alex followed up with a Laser Lipstick and a Cyclone Blast Hairdryer. Britney connected the Laser Lipstick right above the barrel of the Electromagnetic Curling Iron, and the Cyclone Blast Hairdryer on top of the ECM, just behind the control panel. Clover finished by throwing Britney a Helicopter Hand Fan and a pair of wings from a spare Jetpack Backpack. Britney attached the Helicopter Hand Fan to the underside of the ECM's barrel, then placed the wings on either side of the ECM.
The combination weapon now complete, Sam, Alex, and Clover joined Britney to hold the weapon, Sam and Alex holding the jetpack wings, Clover grasping the side handle and Britney holding the main handle, her finger on the firing trigger.
"You lose, Sagan," Nick taunted.
"Oh, and why is that?!" Sagan shot back, only to notice the other spies aiming the Vortex Blaster straight for her. "...oh, crapbaskets."
"FIRE!" Sam shouted together as Britney pulled the firing trigger.
The blades of the Helicopter Hand Fan extended outward and started spinning rapidly. Britney pulled the trigger again, and the Electromagnetic Curling Iron, the Laser Lipstick, and the Cyclone Blast Hairdryer all fired their payload into the spinning blades. Two seconds later, the Vortex Blaster unleashed a massive four-way blast consisting of a large electromagnetic beam surrounded by a spiraling wind blast and a barrage of laser bolts.
The blast screamed through the air and collided with the exo-suit, forcing Sagan to eject from it before the suit exploded in violent fashion. Sagan rolled along the ground, stopping right in front of the spies.
"This is the part where you tell me that I got too cocky, right?" Sagan taunted, only for fall unconscious when Momo karate-chopped her in the neck.
"Stop with the taunting, because it's old hat by now," Momo proclaimed as Nick raised his hand to encase Sagan in a psychic bubble.
A few W.O.O.H.P. choppers from the Paris division appeared outside, flying near the hole in the mothership that Sagan had created earlier.
"We can handle corralling the ship from here," one agent proclaimed. "You can all head back home and check in with Jerry."
"Sounds like a plan," Sam responded.

Jerry's Office
"Once again, I must say that was a marvelous performance, everyone," Jerry proclaimed once all of the spies were back in his office. The viewscreen showed Sagan back in her cell in the containment facility.
"It's always fun to save Paris," Clover giggled.
"We still have one problem, though," Dawn stated. "When the Paris division rounded up all of Sagan's mooks, the alien guys weren't anywhere to be seen."
"They probably turned tail and left when Sagan's whole plan went belly-up," Momo answered. "At least they know when to pack it up."
"Well, I'll send you all back to Mali-U now," RiCO stated. "No doubt you guys wanna get some sleep, since it's so late."
"You wanna come with us, Momo?" Nick offered. "You look like you need some rest, too, especially after all of that."
"...yeah, I think I'll take you up on that," Momo responded. "It'd be nice to finally have some down time after all of this."
RiCO smiled as she snapped her fingers, sending all of them back to Mali-U.
The spies all got a well-deserved night's sleep, even with Sam and Alex sleeping with their fiancées.
Momo decided to sleep on the couch in the penthouse so as not to disturb anyone while they slept.

The Spies' Penthouse
The following morning came around with Sam's arms around her fiancée snug in their bed. They were giggling as they snuggled together.
"You seem to be getting more passion after the mission in the future," Mat told Sam.
"After finding out we're a family of four, would you, too, Mat-honey?" Sam giggled.
Mat couldn't disagree there.
Meanwhile, with Nick and Alex, they were having a similar time.
"Ah, it feels so nice to be able to relax, especially after a caper like that," Alex giggled.
"No kidding," Nick answered. "It seems like we've been running all over the place with our last few missions, especially given that one of them was into the future."
"...I'm just glad that, thanks to that mission, we'll see Anya again someday," Alex admitted.
"Same here, sweetie," Nick chuckled as he and Alex leaned in for a kiss.
May, who was normally Nick's roomie, was already outside in the den eating an early breakfast.
Geez, were they busy... May thought as Clover came into the den in her PJs and awaiting Blaine to show.
Clover looked a bit surprised inside that Sam and Alex didn't come out yet. Simultaneously, Blaine had shown up to the penthouse.
"Nobody's out yet?" Blaine wondered after he noticed May having her breakfast.
"Not until now..." Mat called out, coming out together with Sam.
He had his swim shorts on, and Sam had on her red and white tie-on bikini; it wasn't hard to figure out where they were going.
"We're gonna work up an appetite... outside," Sam giggled as they went outside to swim.
"...wow..." May chuckled. "They must have had an eventful night..."
Nick and Alex then came out together.
"Two spies had an eventful night," Bridget chuckled, coming out with Nick and Alex.
"They did?" Nick asked, initially confused, until a couple seconds passed and it clicked. "...oh."
"O...M...G..." Haruka giggled, coming out, too, overhearing everything.
"What happened to Mat and Sam?" Britney wondered as everyone else came out.
"They went to swim, I bet," May answered.
"Sounds so typical," Melissa laughed.
"Yeah, I noticed Sam and Mat were in their swimwear just a while ago," Blaine replied.
"I'll bet Sammy's like this after the last mission," Alex giggled.
"That's the vibe I got," May quipped, finishing her breakfast.
"Something like that really can get your morale up," Nick stated. "I think I know how Mat felt after Chad Reed won Indianapolis, and just recently at Daytona."
Everybody nodded in agreement.
With that, everybody decided to have a quick pool session before they had breakfast, save for May of course.
"Ooh, there you are," Mat replied as he and Sam popped up out of the penthouse pool.
"You better not have reserved the pool for just the two of you," Britney giggled.
"We didn't..." Sam giggled.
"Hey, Momo, can you swim?" Melissa asked.
"One of the first things I learned when I was old enough," Momo giggled as she jumped into the pool herself.
"Kinda wish I had an actually decent swimming coach in my adolescence," Nick chuckled as he watched Momo swim gracefully through the water. "I couldn't swim for beans for the longest time."
"Thank goodness for W.O.O.H.P. training, am I right?" Haruka laughed as she attempted another pose, knowing Nick was vulnerable.
Momo, however, saw through that, and raised her hand to splash Haruka with a large wave of water.
"H-Hey! No fair ambushing me!" Haruka sputtered.
"It's like you Earthlings say, 'all's fair in love and water fights', right?" Momo laughed.
"All right-y, then, Momo, time to reap what you sow!" Haruka challenged as she leaped into the pool to pounce on Momo, only for her to juke to the side and dodge Haruka easily.
"Okay, then, game on!" May exclaimed as she and many others joined in the quickly-growing water battle.
5:34 P.M. – A Galaxy Far, Far Away
Zorth Warship
"M-M-My lord?" the solider stuttered, fearful for his life after what he'd been told to relay to his leader.
"Enter."
The solider stepped into the command room slowly and carefully, not wanting to do anything that would set him off.
"...the battalion we sent to that Earth planet was... um... defeated and captured," the solider relayed. "I'm sorry, lord Zeruk, but we expected no resistance, and..."
"Hmmm..." Zeruk hummed. "It must have been Zethinia, then. Her insubordination knows no bounds, it seems."
"That brings me to my next question, lord Zeruk," the soldier asked. "If we know exactly where Zethinia is, should we launch a full-scale invasion of this Earth?"
"...no, not yet," Zeruk answered. "I wish to study this planet more before we decide on anything. After all, if mere Earthlings were able to best some of my finest warriors, then they might not be as simple to conquer as we thought. Head to the research lab and await further instructions."
"Yes, sir," the soldier replied before scurrying away, glad he didn't have to face Zeruk's wrath.
Zeruk stood to his full height, staring out the cockpit window into the vastness of space.
"I don't know who on this 'Earth' has poisoned your mind so thoroughly, Zethinia," Zeruk proclaimed. "But once I find them... they will sincerely regret ever having crossed the greatest conquerors in all the known universe."
Totally Spies: Close Encounters of the Freaky Kind
~The End~
Final Note from Mat49324: Well, that's all for Close Encounters of the Freaky Kind. We've knocked another one down and we're one more step closer to 100 co-op projects! We hope you enjoyed this one for sure, and that you'll stay tuned for our next project, which will be on my page – And Then There Were Some. That'll be #98 for our co-op projects together – that includes our mission fics, and the one-shots we both did (with me completing 30 of them – some I did on my own, and a couple with assistance from jettmanas). For now, here's The Blue Time Ranger for his final thoughts.
Final Note from The Blue Time Ranger: We're so, so close to the big one-double-oh, and that's incredible to behold! Also, did you catch the big, ominous warlord alien guy at the very end? Methinks we'll have to deal with him when the season finale hits, but one step at a time.
With this one down, now it's time to preview the next episode of Totally Spies: The New Adventures. Lumiere is back in town with more freaky movie prospects, but this time he's teaming up with Milton Bard, a villain from season 5 of the show that I haven't written for yet, so this'll be an interesting one, I bet. Murder mysteries and horror flicks and lots of other crazy things are happening next time on And Then There Were Some, which will be posted by Mat. So, until next time, have a fantastic day, don't listen to the screeching morons, enjoy this preview of And Then There Were Some, and we'll see you next mission!
"So, you're a fellow lover of the arts, too, I see," Marco Lumiere chuckled.
"Oh, but of course," Milton Bard proclaimed in a very theatrical tone of voice. "I had the perfect play in mind, until those damned spies ruined everything."
"Oh, trust me, I've been down that road before, and it's a plot device that gets really boring after a while," Lumiere admitted. "That's precisely why I've brought you into my fold for this scheme. With two of us connoisseurs of theater working together, we'll surely best those annoyances this time around."
"You say that a lot, but they always find a way around our plans somehow," Milton responded. "What makes you so sure this one will succeed where all the others have failed?"
Lumiere glanced over at his movie camera, where a few different movie props were resting on the table around it.
"I'm very glad you asked that, my boy," Lumiere chuckled. "Because this plan of mine..."
Lumiere stepped into the shadows for dramatic effect, picking up a prop that looked like a knife.
"...is going to be a real killer, if you catch my lingo."
To be continued in Totally Spies: And Then There Were Some...
