"So… Its' been a while." Dr. Tricia said smiling when she met myself, Mike and Trenton in the ER during their slowest hour on the Monday after I came back. Dr. Tricia usually worked in the ER but she led showed us to follow her and led us to the maternity word in another part of the hospital. "How are you doing? Both of you?"

"We're doing alright." I answered her and sat down and pulled my jacket off. "Little one is kicking all nights but I'm getting used to sleeping with that." I tried to laugh but right here I got so nervous. "And now I'm really curious to… what kind of baby am I having?"

"What kind of baby would you like to have?" Dr. Tricia smirked at her own bad joke. "A girl or a boy?"

"A healthy baby with ten fingers and ten toes. But the thing is I always knew what I would name a boy if I had one. But if I have a girl there are a ton of names I like or don't like and… Well… That part it would be practical if it was a boy." I smiled to show her I was joking and it didn't matter anyway. "But now I want to know, I want to know."

Dr. Tricia put up a sheet so Mike and Trenton wouldn't be able to see when I had to pull up my shirt and pull down my shirt. But suddenly I wasn't even sure I wanted them in the room while I laid down. Until now I did want someone important to me here, but now I wasn't so sure.

"Are you ready?" I nodded and Dr. Tricia spurted that cold gel towards my belly and then grabbed her equipment. "And here it is… And…" Dr. Tricia silent for a second and looked towards the sonogram screen. "…There's the heart and it's beating strong. There are two arms and two legs. Everything seems to be in absolutely perfect shape and it is…"

"NO." I interrupted quickly. "Mike and Trenton." I turned to the two I thought I had wanted here. "Get out." Apparently I didn't because now when I suddenly was more nervous than ever I did not. "Get out I said." In the corner of my eye I could see Dr. Tricia smile while she only waited, Mike and Trenton knew better than to ask and hurried out of the room. "Okay then… Go on."

"It's a boy."

The room seemed to fall all silent when I felt a smile spread across my lips. But still kind of a sad one. Because I always had the thought in the back of my mind that whether it was a boy or a girl or a freaking dinosaur. I would never be able to keep it…. Him… keep him.

"Elijah."

"That's a nice name."

"Yeah. I always knew that if I ever had a son his name would be Elijah… Elijah Christopher… But of course…"

I didn't finish. I just thought that whoever would be able to adopt and care for my baby might want a say in what the name would be too. And they might dislike the name with all that they had.

"Of course what?"

"Nothing."

"So… Name you have. Have you thought about what's going to happen when the… when Elijah Christopher is born?"

I felt a frown form in my forehead while I froze in the moves of pulling my shirt down. That question had just sounded so…

"Well… I'm just… I'm sorry… I'm just curious. Where you live right now will you be able to…"

"None of your business actually but…" I continued in the moves and thought if I should tell her or not. "No, I can't. But I was going to… you know, give him up for adoption. But not just give him up but actually, try and find a couple or a family that can really be… be the best you know."

"I understand. And if you would like to consider them for a minute. I know two people who are looking for a baby to adopt. It's my brother Matthew and his partner Ashley and…"

"Wait… Am I understanding this right?" I froze in my moves again and interrupted Dr. Tricia before she had finished talking. "You're acting like you care about me because I seem the patient most likely to just give it to you. Or your brother or whoever."

"No. I'm acting like I care for you because I do care for you. And I just thought of this now because I figured if you would like… this. You would feel better if this baby… If Elijah Christopher isn't going to some couple that is all unknown to you. And I'd like that too. And I know my brother and his partner are great. Would you like to meet them?"

"NO. I haven't even decided yet." I actually kind of had. Even though Dr. Tricia was the only one who knew and my voice was breaking mostly because I knew this was the way it would have to end up. "You're just like everybody else. Trying to get through me to get what you want."

"Now that's not true." Dr. Tricia had put away her things, and she seemed insecure. Not that I took enough time to notice that though. "Of course the choice is up to you. Whatever feels best for you and…"

"Have you hoped all along that I would say I'm giving the baby up for adoption so you could… well whatever…" I pushed the door open. "Mike we're… Trenton? Where did Mike go?"

I had of course not seen the boys leave. But maybe it was just the thought that Trenton was still sitting right outside the room I had been in with Dr. Tricia, and of course Mike could just as well be in the bathroom just across the hall. But something in the fact that Mike wasn't right here right now gave me such a weird feeling.

"I don't know…" Trenton looked about as confused as I felt. "…He had a phone call, then he told me to wait here while he ran away and after that I haven't seen him. I don't do eavesdropping really… but it might have been something about another kid in the hospital."

"Oh, did someone get hurt or anything?" Trenton shrugged. "Do you know who?"

"I'm not sure…" Trenton sounded hesitant. "…But it sounded like there might be a new kid arriving at Ashdene Ridge."

This chapter is a bit short but you did find out the baby is a boy and his name is Elijah Christopher. Kenny will have to give him up for adoption and Dr. Tricia knows someone who would like to adopt. Which is her brother Matthew and his partner Ashley. But then Kenny is mad and suddenly it seems like there is a new kid arriving… But Ashdene Ridge is kind of full… isn't it?

Random fact

Well. Remember when I did that syoc with this story? When people sent in characters and then Kim and Michael and everyone were introduced? Yazzy who was mentioned in the last two chapters was also sent in then, and then this new kid mentioned at the end of this chapter is the last of the children sent in then to be introduced.
