Y para el/la que me preguntó lo de Sabrina-no planeo escribir a Sabrina en la misma forma que en la historia anterior; no será así de coqueta ni pegajosa ya que no me gusta ni estoy de acuerdo con lo que escribió el autor.

Translation: I don't plan to write Sabrina the same way like in the previous story (that I adopted); she won't be that flirty or clingy since I don't like nor agree with what the previous author wrote (especially in the chapter where they are in Vermillion).

Also, this story was last updated November 22, 2022.

It had been three days since Ash and Sabrina had earned their Cascade Badges and were travelling to Vermillion City. Ash was so excited to have a Kadabra and Sabrina with her Kirlia. Brock could tell that between Sabrina and Ash, more chemistry was developing and he thought it was cute.

"Ash, you've been so determined to get the next badge and we've barely rested," Sabrina whined as she was panting after chasing Ash who was running southbound to Vermillion City.

"Yeah, Ash, you're always fie steps ahead of us!" Brock chuckled as he was waiting for the other to eventually run out of steam.

"I'm just full of energy and I want to get the next badge as soon as possible!" explained the raven-haired boy. "I'm also eager to find any other psychic types. And I'll make it worth the effort."

Ash had an idea of how to thank his friends once they reached Vermillion City. After they walked a few more hours, Ash could see some of the skyline of the new city.

"Awesome! We're there!" Ash told the others. "Now let's see." He took a map that was on a bulletin near the entrance of the city that had attractions and he saw one place that really caught his attention and he just had to take his friends there.

"What's on your mind, Ash?" asked Sabrina as she was really curious as to what the other was thinking about.

"You'll see. C'mon!" he ordered as he began running again. Before long, they were at an ice cream shop.

"Oh, this is where you wanted to take us?" asked Sabrina as she could feel excitement coming to her. She had begun feeling stronger emotions in general lately and ice cream was one of the most comforting things for her.

"Yep! We deserve some after all our hard work," Ash stated as they waited in line.

"I can't say I disagree; let's enjoy it on this hot day!" Brock gleefully said as he looked at some of the cute girls around his age. He asked one if she felt like sharing with him, but a "Get lost, loser" only made Brock more persistent until she left.

"Guess you don't have good luck today, Brock," Ash commented.

"I will one day, just you wait," Brock reassured. It was their turn to order and Sabrina said,

"I'd like a scoop of cookies and cream."

"No kidding! That's my favorite, too!" Ash chimed in. He looked at the prices and saw that it was cheaper to get a double scoop compared to two separate single scoops and he said, "Hey, Sabrina, would you...wanna share a double scoop?"

Sabrina couldn't believe that Ash asked a question like that. In the days that they had left Cerulean and were on the way to Vermillion, she had begun to develop stronger feelings for the other and had even had passing fantasies of kissing him.

"I...yes, I would like that," Sabrina whispered lowly to the other. Brock knew there was chemistry developing between them and encouraged them to act on their feelings.

"Okay, I'll take one double scoop of cookies and cream," Ash ordered.

I wonder if I should tell him how I feel, or if I should wait a little bit until he makes his move, Sabrina thought to herself as she waited for Brock to place his order of rocky road. Sabrina could tell that this was a popular place because every table had somebody sitting down in it. She was glad Ash brought them here.

Sabrina looked out into the harbor and waited for Ash to bring the ice cream. He brought it to her and he said, "Do you wanna eat at the top or bottom scoop?"

"I'll take the top one," Sabrina said. Ash held down the cone and they both began eating it, both of them looking into each other's eyes as they were eating it and Ash giggling a bit along the way with red cheeks.

"Why are you giggling so much, Ash?" asked Sabrina as she was almost finished with the cone.

"Well, I've never done something like this with a girl," Ash admitted. "You're the first one."

"I've never done this with a boy either, and you're the first," Sabrina admitted as her smile began to grow. "I...I think I'm beginning to fall in love with you, Ash."

Ash was as red as a tomato when she said that and he said, "R-Really? I feel the same way, and I have been trying to think of a way to tell you, but, I'm falling in love with you also!"

Sabrina was beyond thrilled that the other had these feelings for her, but she felt it was too soon to kiss. They soon finished the ice cream cone and they looked out into the harbor.

"The SS Anne will depart in two days, Ash wouldn't it be amazing to go on a ship like that?" Sabrina said.

"That would be awesome! But I don't think I have enough money to pay for a ticket," Ash responded with a tone of disappointment.

"Well, as long as we get to see it, that's fine," Sabrina nodded. She looked out the corner of her eye and she saw a Ralts! "Ash, look, it's another Ralts! You should see if it's a male and maybe he can have a friend with mine."

"Oh, that's a great idea!" Ash took out his Pokedex and Dexter confirmed that indeed, it was a male Ralts. Ash took out Exeggcute's Pokeball and said, "Come on out, Exeggcute! Let's catch that Ralts!"

"Exeggcute!" said the cluster of pink seeds as they jumped up and down as she was happy to see her trainer.

"Exeggcute, use bullet seed!" All six seeds began firing off tiny fast seeds at their target, causing Ralts to cry his name out and he used confusion to send some seeds back into Exeggcute's face. He sent out some magical leaves, too, indicating that he may be near the same level as the Ralts that Sabrina caught.

"Stun spore!" Ash commanded as the seeds let out an orange powder. As if by cue, Exeggcute became paralysed as well! "Oh, shoot, I forgot at that moment Ralts has that ability!"

"Oh, Ash," Sabrina said. But she couldn't get upset at him, though. Ash took a fresh Pokeball off his hip and tossed it at Ralts, hoping it would end in a capture. The ball shook a few times and it pinged as a successful capture!

"All right! I caught a male Ralts!" Ash said as he made his signature.

"Oh, Ash, that's one of the things that I like about you," Sabrina admitted as she was blushing a bit. Ash went to pick up his ball and he said,

"Thank you, Sabrina. I'm glad that you accept me for it, because Gary used to make fun of me." He shook his head as he thought of the other and said, "Let's give Ralts some medicine and introduce him to your Kirlia!"

"Sounds like a great idea, Ash," Sabrina said as she was eager for her Pokemon to have a friend of the same species.

Brock took out a Paralyze heal from his backpack and he sprayed Ralts and then Exeggcute until they were feeling all better. He was glad to hear that and then he sprayed Ralts with a potion. Once Ralts was as good as new, Sabrina took out her Pokeball and sent out Kirlia. The two immediately took a liking to one another and said their respective name while Kirlia was doing a pirouette and Ralts tried to imitate the other, failing but it was apparent that he was having fun. Both Pokemon continued saying their names and apparently were laughing. Ash and Sabrina looked at one another and smiled, both of them pleased at how their Pokemon were behaving and how the day was unfolding.

"It's great to see how everybody is getting along!" Brock commented as he supported the two couples in the making.

"I'll say!" Ash chirped with a big grin on his face. "Now that we got ice cream in our stomachs, let's go burn some of it off with a Pokemon gym battle!"

Nobody was against his statement and they soon arrived to the Pokemon gym. Once they entered, they were greeted by a man who must've been over 2.2 m (~7'3") tall and was wearing army camo pants and a dark green tank top as well as some fingerless gloves. Ash was amazed that someone could be this tall, let alone was a gym leader, but he kept his mouth shut because he did not want this large man yelling at him.

"Welcome!" the man bellowed. All three travelers gulped.

"Uh, huh," Ash said as he was slightly taken back. "I'm Ash Ketchum from Pallet Town and I'd like a battle with the gym leader!"

"Baby got confidence!" Lt. Surge said. "But as a gym leader, I take on all those who challenge me. Don't cry for your mommy when I beat your Pokemon into submission, baby!"

Sabrina was getting pretty annoyed with the taunts that this man was making and her eyes began to glow briefly. Luckily, nobody was watching her and Ash turned to look at her and Ash said,

"It'll be okay, Sabrina-his words mean nothing." Sabrina's eyes stopped glowing as she was becoming quite defensive of Ash, but once he gave her a sign that things would be okay, she calmed down.

"So, which one of you will be my first challenger?" asked Lt. Surge.

"I will," Sabrina chimed in. Ash did not oppose this as he was the one who went first time at both gyms. "My name is Sabrina, and I wish to be your opponent."

"Very will, young lady," Lt. Surge said with more respect to the female than he did with Ash. "You okay with a one on one?"

"That's fine with me," Sabrina said with a nod. "I select...Kirlia!" The ballerina-esque Pokemon escaped from her ball and said her name with joy as she was eager to get started.

"Hmm, a psychic and a fairy type. That's quite original here," Lt. Surge commented. "Most trainers try to find a ground type, but this will make for an interesting battle. I select you! Electrode!"

Sabrina gulped as she saw this opponent in front of her: the evolved form of Voltorb. Her Pokemon had no advantage or disadvantage against electric types, so this was going to be interesting indeed.

"Electrode, you use spark!" ordered Surge.

"Kirlia. You use confusion to stop Electrode's movements!" ordered Sabrina. Electrode was outlined with confusion's aura and was launched into mid-air.

"Recover from it with rollout!" Lt. Surge told his Pokemon. Because rolling was the principal way of moving, Electrode did not take any damage from the attack.

"Kirlia, use disarming voice!" Sabrina said, trying to figure out a way to take down this Pokemon. The musical and hearts flew across the battlefield, but Electrode, who tried fleeing from it, had no success and took damage.

"Not bad, young lady," Lt. Surge praised. "Give that pipsqueak a sonic boom!" Electrode's body started to glow and then it shot out some shock waves to Kirlia at such a blinding speed that Sabrina wasn't able to react in time.

"Kirlia!" Sabrina exclaimed. "Hang in there and send out magical leaf." Kirlia said her name and expelled the leaves towards Electrode. The ball Pokemon couldn't dodge the attack, but it seemed to have done a reasonable amount of damage.

Sabrina had a smile on her face and she she said, "Send out another wave of magical leaf. Keep going!"

More leaves were flying over to Electrode and Lt. Surge said, "You got some skill using a skill like that. Use shock wave!"

Electrode began to glow and sent out an expanding circle of energy from its body towards Kirlia.

"Use confusion on the electricity and send it back!" Sabrina shouted. The electricity stopped in mid air and went reverse right to Electrode. "Now one more magical leaf!" The leaves hit the ball Pokemon and soon, there were swirls in its eyes.

"No! Electrode!" exclaimed Lt. Surge as he saw his defeated Pokemon. He called back the Pokemon and said, "Well, I must say, young lady, that was quite an interesting battle. Here is your thunder badge, as proof that you defeated me!"

He gave her an eight-pointed yellow and orange badge and Sabrina smiled and took it. Ash was so proud of Sabrina who was really turning into a strong trainer.

"So, you wanna have a battle, baby?" Lt. Surge asked Ash.

"Totally!" Ash told the other. "I'll send out...Exeggcute!" The cluster of seeds began jumping up and down as she was glad to see her trainer.

"A grass type. They resist electricity, so you have some advantage here. Nonetheless, I'll end out Raichu!" Lt. Surge called out as he released Pikachu's evolved form. Raichu said his name loudly as he saw his opponent.

"Raichu, you crack those eggs open with an iron tail!" called out the giant.

"Exeggcute, teleport and attack with a confusion!" Ash commanded. The grass type glowed and vanished from Raichu's long lightning bolt-shaped tail that was swung down hard against the battlefield, causing some of it to be chipped into rubble. Exeggcute teleported and hit Raichu with a decent amount of telekinetic force, leaving Raichu confused.

"Ugh, Raichu, you gotta snap out of it and give it a mega kick!" Surge ordered. Raichu's foot started to glow, but he ultimately kicked himself. Lt. Surge knew it would not be an overly powerful move if it hit, but he ordered Raichu to use a thunderbolt! The electricity hit the grass type, and she was able to recover reasonably well due to the resistance.

"Barrage!" ordered Ash. "You're doing so well, Exeggcute!"

Exeggcute said her name and then she began to bombard Raichu with balls, hitting him five times. Raichu was starting to get a bit weak.

"Use mega punch!" Lt. Surge told his Pokemon. Raichu's paw began to glow and Ash had a way to counter it.

"Leech seed!" A small seed was shot out and landed on Raichu's paw, but he managed to hit Exeggcute with the attack before roots from the seed wrapped around and began sapping strength. Exeggcute was having trouble getting up.

"Well, looks like this battle is done. You did pretty good for a baby, but this is over," Lt. Surge told the other with a smirk. Exeggcute took in some of the health that was stolen from Raichu and got back up.

"Oh, Exeggcute, I knew you'd pull through!" Ash cheered to his starter. Give Raichu a confusion!" Exeggcute lifted Raichu up about three meters and dropped him, causing the Pokemon to faint.

"Unbelievable!" called out Lt. Surge through gritted teeth as he was having trouble processing exactly what happened. "Beaten by two kids!"

"So this means I'm not a baby, huh?" asked Ash.

"Haha, nope! You've grown from a baby to a kid!" Lt. Surge replied as he walked over and extended his very large hand with a badge in it. "Here, kid, you deserve and have earned this official badge."

"Cool, thanks!" chirped Ash as he took it. "I just got a thunder badge!" He did his official pose.

"Uh, what's he doing?" a confused Lt. Surge asked.

"Eh, it's just his thing he does, and I like it about him," Sabrina answered.

"Hey, you two were awesome! Great job to you both," Brock congratulated them.

Ash blushed as he looked at Sabrina. Sabrina turned red herself and the three of them left the gym.

As the three of them left the lake, they went and looked at the Harbor, specifically at the SS Anne. Sabrina couldn't help but think about being on that ship. As they were watching, a pink Pokemon entered their vision and began to stick its tail into the water while looking at its tail.

"Hey, that's a Slowpoke," Sabrina told Ash. "I wanna capture it."

"Be my guest," Ash told her. "That way, we can have three Pokemon apiece!"

Sabrina sent out her Venonat to fight the Slowpoke.

"Tackle, Venonat!" she told her Pokemon. Venonat ran towards Slowpoke and knocked her over. Slowpoke used headbutt and it sent Venonat flying back again.

"Wow, that Slowpoke is quite strong," Ash said. "You got this, Sabrina, keep going!"

Sabrina smiled. "Use confusion, Venonat." Venonat lifted Slowpoke up about 2 meters and dropped her onto the ground rather hard, whittling away some health of the water type.

"Now, stun spore!" Venonat began to shake his body to release some of the powder, but when he did, the Slowpoke used confusion herself to attack! "No, Venonat! You've got to hang in there," Sabrina encouraged the Pokemon. Venonat squeaked his name and hit Slowpoke with another tackle after Sabrina called the command and she tossed a Pokeball. It shook seven times before it was captured!

"Hey, you caught Slowpoke!" Ash cheered to Sabrina. "Great job; now you got a water type to help in case we go against fire types."

Sabrina smiled and she picked up the Pokeball. "Great. Let's head to the Pokemon Center and call it a day. I'm getting tired from all the running."

"I agree," Brock said. They headed to the Pokemon Center and then they each got a room for the night. They were wondering what tomorrow would bring.

I changed the shopping to ice cream bc the original was HIGHLY inappropriate for their age. Sorta surprised that nobody on that story left a review and commented on that.

I don't know why, but I've always considered grass being resistant to electric moves one of the coolest type match up. Just a fun fact.
