Chapter One: Meeting A Turtle

As Alexis is walking around on a roof one night drawing she soon feels her phone buzzing and sees her adoptive mom calling her.

"Hello?" Alexis asks as she answers her phone and stands up to walk around.

"Where are you at Alexis? It's late." Alexis's mother says.

"I know mom. I'm sorry. I just wanted some fresh air to clear my head." Alexis says as she walks around.

"Well don't stay out too long. I want you back before morning. You still have school tomorrow." Alexis's mother says.

"Yes mom. I understand. I won't be out for too long this time." Alexis says.

"Good. I love you. See you at home." Alexis's mother says.

"You too mom." Alexis says as she ends the call and keeps walking only to accidentally walk off the roof edge before grabbing hold of the edge.

"Ah! Help! Anyone!" Alexis shouts as she tries to pull herself up with no luck.

"Hold on!" A male voice shouts as Alexis hears footsteps coming closer.

"Huh? Oh please hurry! I can't hold on much longer!" Alexis shouts as she looses grip and falls only to have her wrist grabbed by someone.

"Got ya. Don't worry. I'll pull you up." The voice says as Alexis is pulled up and onto the roof.

"Thank you. I-" Alexis then gets cut off as she feels the person quickly put their hand on her mouth before she sees it is a giant turtle with an orange mask.

"Whoa! Don't scream! Please. I won't hurt you." The turtle says in alarm.

"W-What are you?" Alexis asks nervously as the turtle moves his hand away from her.

"Well as you can see I'm a turtle." The turtle says as Alexis chuckles nervously.

"I mean how are you so big? I can see you're a turtle. You don't look like any turtle I've ever seen though." Alexis says nervously.

"It's because I'm a mutant. I'm a ninja too. Are you okay?" The turtle asks as Alexis nods.

"Yes. Thank you for saving me." Alexis says.

"No problem." The turtle says happily.

"Why did you though? I mean weren't you afraid of what I'd do once I seen you?" Alexis asks curiously.

"Why? You don't seem like a bad person." The turtle says as he smiles causing Alexis to smile.

"I'm not. But I would think most people would freak if they saw you. I would think that's not a pleasant situation for you." Alexis says in concern.

"Well neither is letting you fall. That wouldn't be good for you either." The turtle says as Alexis chuckles.

"Touche. I'm Alexis. You are?" Alexis asks kindly.

"Michelangelo but my family and friends call me Mikey." The turtle says happily.

"Nice to meet you Mikey." Alexis says kindly.

"You too Alexis. You're honestly the only human I ever met who didn't freak out seeing me or who has been this calm." Michelangelo says.

"Well I'm not gonna say I'm entirely calm on the inside but I can see you are no danger to me. Besides anyone who saves my life deserves to be heard out in my eyes." Alexis says.

"Is that your book?" Michelangelo says as he sees Alexis's book and picks it up.

"Oh yeah. I was talking to my mom on the phone and just kinda walked too far. I was drawing though before she called." Alexis says as Michelangelo gives her the book back.

"You're really good. Seems like you love animals. Wolves especially." Michelangelo says happily as Alexis gives a nervous look.

"Oh uh it's uh just a fascination of mine. Anyway thank you. Huh? You skate too?" Alexis asks as she sees Michelangelo has a skateboard.

"Oh my skateboard? Yeah. I've been known to do some awesome tricks if you ever wanna skate sometime." Michelangelo says proudly.

"I would like that." Alexis says as she smiles.

"So how did you get up here anyway?" Michelangelo asks as Alexis gives another nervous look.

"I'm a pretty good climber. I gotta go though. My mom will be worried if I don't." Alexis says as she writes something on a paper in her book and tears it out.

"Aww. You gotta go? I was enjoying talking to you." Michelangelo says sadly.

"Yeah. Sorry. Here's my number though. Feel free to call or text me anytime. Bye Michelangelo and thank you again." Alexis says as she picks up her book and leaves after giving Michelangelo her number.
