I know I promised I would update at least biweekly, but I've been reworking some of the story elements. I'm not gonna rewrite what I've already had. To those of you who are amazing in pointing out that I forgot certain things exist (such as quirk analysts lol), I apologize. But I really did yada yada my way through certain details. There are certain that will be explained later on, such as why Bakugou thought Kirishima cheated on him with Hawks specifically, but some other stuff is just a "accept it as it is" kind of thing. Also, I suck at writing fight scenes. So please take the one I add in here with a grain of salt.
Anyway, onto the chapter!
Chapter 3
The First Day
"Alright, problem children. I need you to quiet down and listen up," Aizawa-sensei was saying on the other side of the door.
'Problem children? Guess Dad really wasn't exaggerating,' I thought with amusement. It was the next school day, and I was standing outside of Class 3A's room. I was nervous beyond belief. I was going to meet the teenage version of Dad. I was going to be in class with all of my greatest heroes. What if I screw this up? What if I can't do this? What if…?
"Kirigaya?" I was startled out of my spiraling thoughts by the raven's call. I quickly entered the room and stood in the front of the class.
"Hi, I'm Kirigaya Shigo," I greeted with a smile.
Last night, Erasorhead and I decided it would be best to introduce me as a transfer student from the US (good thing I know English really well from school). That way no one would question how I'm virtually nonexistent. All of my files are reportedly lost in the system, and if worse comes, we could just tell Principal Nezu everything about my mission.
"Kirigaya will be joining your class for the foreseeable future. I expect you to treat her as another one of your classmates, or I won't hesitate to make your training a living hell."
I snorted. "No need to threaten them on my behalf, sensei. I can more than handle any and all of them."
As I walked to the extra desk in the back of the classroom, I could see how Bakugou's eyes looked me up and down. Good. I got his attention. I need to get into his squad one way or another, and I know this would be the easiest way.
Sure enough, when it came time for hero training, the blonde separated from the rest of the Bakusquad to approach me.
"Hey, new girl."
"I have a name," I snorted as I fully faced him.
"Whatever. New girl," I rolled my eyes but let him continue, "I heard what you said earlier. And I want to put you to the fucking test."
"Oh yeah? You really think a blond bimbo like you can stand against me?" My challenging sneer matched his perfectly.
"Fucking bring it on, you damn extra!"
Bakugou got into a stance I recognized all too well. I've trained against him since my second quirk manifested, and I had never won a fight.
Time to change that.
I watched as the blond used a series of explosions to quickly approach me, all the while running my hands across the specialty long fingerless gloves on my arms. He feinted a right hook only to send an explosion at my right side, but I was ready. The sleeves of my gloves were hard as steel, and I used the right one to block the worst of the explosion. I then reached with my left to grab his wrist and throw him over my shoulder, sending the second explosion into the air.
I jumped back the moment his back hit the ground. I had shock on my side, and I know that wasn't going to last long. As he gathered himself, I grabbed the extendable staff from my utility belt and quickly hardened the front part of my hero top. Just in time too, because he was sending an explosion at me.
"I got it. You have a quirk similar to Shitty Hair's!" he growled out as the hardened top and sleeves protected me from the explosion. "Just because you can guard against my quirk doesn't mean you can beat me!"
"Who said that's all I can do?!"
I gracefully dodged a series of AP shots, pressing the small button to extend the staff. It's specially reinforced to allow me to make it as hard as diamond with my quirk. I lithely slid under another explosion and jumped to my feet behind him. Just as he spun around, I kicked away his sparking hand and swung the staff at his chest. Pro Hero Dynamight would've caught that or, if I managed to hit him, stumbled back just a few feet.
Teenage Bakugou Katsuki was sent flying back.
I winced as he crashed into Deku, who was also sent flying by Todoroki. 'Ok, maybe I got a bit ahead of myself there,' I thought as the blonde yelled at his longtime rival.
"Yo, bimbo!"
"Hah?!" He turned around to glare at me only to be met with a fist to the jaw.
"Your fight is with me!"
In the end, the Bakusquad had to make Bakugou admit he was defeated. Both of us were covered in bruises, but I was still the clear victor. After all, I could still stand on my own.
I sweetly waved to the fuming blond and followed the girls into our locker rooms. As the others chatted, I carefully peeled off my hardened hero suit.
"Hey Kirigaya! You were awesome out there!" Mina suddenly said right in my ear. I looked over at her.
"Um… thanks? It was nothing special though."
"Nuh-uh. You don't get to go all humble on us after all of that trash talking you were dong earlier. Spill, how were you able to fight so well against Bakugou?!"
I shrugged while pulling on my uniform shirt. "I trained with someone with a similar quirk. I learned very quickly how to defend and attack at once with my quirk because I didn't want to keep getting burned."
As the other girls continued asking questions, I carefully shook out my hero suit to get it to return to normal. I was definitely going to have to pay a visit to this time's Hatsume. I need to figure out how my quirk works so that I can have the fabric of my hero suit made to deactivate with my quirk.
"Hey, the Bakusquad is gonna be studying together tonight. Well, more like Baku's gonna beat some knowledge into us while we try to do our homework. Wanna join us?" Mina asked me. I looked over at her.
"You sure the boys won't mind?"
"Nah, they're cool. If anything, you'll probably get annoyed with them," Jirou put in as she stood next to us.
I grinned at the two of them. "Well, if you're sure, I'd love to join you."
"Come on then," Mina grinned.
I hummed and followed the two girls out of the locker rooms. I let them walk ahead of me as we approached the boys of the Bakusquad. Bakugou was growling as Sero and Denki teased him about losing to me. Kirishima, ever the peacemaker, was trying to make them stop while calming down his boyfriend.
"Guys stop giving him such a hard time. Not his fault that I've practiced fighting against quirks like his," I teased as I stepped closer to them. The explosive blonde's expression darkened.
"No one asked you, you damn extra."
"Don't be mean, bimbo. I was defending your honor." The guys guffawed and I crossed my arms. "Anyway, I head you guys need help studying tonight."
"I don't need some new girl helping me tutor these dumbasses," Bakugou growled.
I snorted. "There's no such thing as too much help. Oh wait." I smirked, making him narrow his eyes at me. "I get it. You're afraid I'm going to turn out to be a better tutor than you are."
"Fuck off! No one is better than I am!" he roared.
"Yeah?"
"Fuck yeah!"
"Then prove it."
"Fine! Join us in studying tonight! I'll tutor circles around your ass!" He stormed away grumbling to himself. Kirishima followed him with an apologetic smile back towards me.
"You're our hero! You've cracked how to get Bakubro to agree to something you want!" Denki laughed loudly. I grinned.
"It's not that hard. You just have to play at or challenge his ego." The others laughed. "Let's go catch up before he changes his mind."
We walked out of the gym and went to the main building.
This is the end of the chapter. There will be a bit of a time skip in the next chapter. If you have any questions, comments, or concerns, let me know in the comment section. I'll answer as best as I can!
