We have ourselves another update! I might start speeding things up and kicking things up a notch with the next few chapters, so expect some of that to come up. This chapter however is mostly going to be a lot of talking in order to clarify a bit of why a: Bakugou specifically feared Hawks was the one Kirishima cheated on him with and b: why Bakugou didn't just get testing done.

I fixed the problem of the tags saying the pairing for this was Eddy S and Bakugou. Thank you to the guest that pointed out that glitch.

A big thank you to those who have followed and favorited this story. It's a blast to write it, and I'm glad that you are enjoying reading it.

With all that out of the way, let's get on with the chapter!

After narrowly escaping being brainwashed, I flew with Hawks back to UA High. We didn't want to risk any reporters or fans pulling off the feather keeping my mouth shut since we don't know the range or time restraints of Ryuu's quirk.

Right now, we're sitting in the teacher's lounge with Aizawa looking tiredly at us from his seat. He had already attempted to use his quirk to cancel the effects of the other, but it didn't work. I could still feel the compulsion to spill all of my secrets to the world and anyone who wanted to listen to me.

After a few hours of sitting in absolute uncomfortable silence, my mind finally relented. The compulsion was gone. I pulled the feather from over my mouth and handed it back to the reluctant blond next to me.

"The quirk wore off. I can talk now without worrying about becoming a mindless puppet,``I said with a shudder at what could have happened.

"Good. Now you can tell me what happened," Aizawa said. I easily saw through the sternness in his voice to see the worry he felt for me. I almost smiled but withheld.

"The villain from my time finally decided to make his move. Only now he has no intentions of controlling my parents: he wants to control me," I told him.

"Why?"

I shrugged. "Because I am the only person that sees through him? He knows that my very presence here puts a wrench in his plans for Katsuki and Eijirou. But instead of getting rid of me, he wants to control me."

"See, that's the part that confuses me," Hawks put in. I glanced over at him and raised my eyebrow to ask him to continue. "If all he wanted was to prevent you from changing the future, all he had to do was send you to another time. It's not necessary to control you, yet that's his goal now. Why?"

I was silent as his words sunk in. The bird brain was right: there is no reason whatsoever to take control of me. If he had really come back in time to make sure I didn't change the future, all he needed to do was sneak up on me, touch me, and send me to another time. That's what he's constantly doing to himself after all: time jumping.

"Your connection to Kaachan and Kirishima."

Aizawa cursed softly as the three of us looked up at the green haired hero in training. Deku was stepping out of a spot just out of our line of sight in the perfect spot to have been listening in on our conversation. Crap crap crap crap crap….

"I didn't think you were the type to eavesdrop on your peers and teachers, Midoriya," I said casually, pretending I wasn't mentally freaking out at the moment.

"I'm not. I came by to talk to sensei and meant to turn around when i realized you were already here. But what I heard made me pause. Kirigaya, you aren't really from America, are you? Or at least not from this time."

I groaned and ran my fingers through my hair. This is exactly why we wanted to meet when all the other teachers and students were away from the main school building!

"Problem child, if you're going to stick your head in someone else's business, the least you can do is announce your presence a little better than that," Aizawa finally said, waving for the other student to sit next to him. Deku blushed only a tiny bit as he bowed to us.

"I'll remember that next time, sensei." he sat down and looked at me. "So it's true then. You're not who you say you are?"

"No, I'm not, nerd. I guess it was inevitable for you to figure it out anyway,``I sighed.

"Heh, you sound almost like Kaachan when you call me a nerd like that." I smiled lightly.

"You say that a lot in the future too, sensei." His eyes widened and he sputtered, making me laugh. "Oh calm down. In the future, all of the current 3A students take on teaching positions at UA, except Yaomomo. She's the principal. You are my 3A teacher."

"Wow…. Are we all still heroes too?"

"I guess you'll have to find out in a few years, now won't you?"

"Back on topic, you two." My grin sobered up right away at Hawks' words. "This was supposed to be a covert mission, so it's a serious problem that someone else now knows about your secret."

"You say that as if you hadn't used your feather to find out yourself," I snorted. He only shrugged, not even trying to deny it. "But you're right. It is very serious. And had this been anyone besides Midoriya, I would have been more concerned. Sensei, you agree that we can trust him, don't you? Otherwise you would not have invited him to sit with us."

"Unfortunately, you're right," the raven sighed. "Problem child, why do you believe her connection to your classmates is important to the villain?"

"Well, you said he controls Kaachan and Kirishima in the future right? Which means you came back in time to stop the catalyst for their eventual control, and he followed you in order to stop you," Izuku guessed, looking at me for confirmation.

"Close. He controlled Da- I mean Katsuki only. He used his biggest insecurity to make him do a… terrible thing." I cleared my throat and rushed on before he could ask questions. "I came back in time to prevent the insecurity from developing at all."

"Ok," the greenette said slowly, though his eyes said he wasn't going to let me get away with just those details. "Either way, that still explains why he's targeting you right now instead of them. If he's been in this time period anywhere near as long as you have been, he's bound to have been watching the school. He had to in order to make sure you hadn't already caused irreversible damage."

"Ok? I'm not getting your point,``I declared.

"Kiri…."

"Just call me Shigo. You might as well."

"Alright. Shigo, if he had been watching you, that means he knows you became quick friends with Kaachan and his friends. Namely, with Kaachan and Kirishima. Anyone can see that you three have a bond that defies logic. I wrote it off as you just complimenting both of their personalities. But if I heard you right, that means their souls recognized you as their daughter. That connection to them can further whatever insecurity Kaachan later develops."

My eyes widened as his words finally sunk in. 'Shit. He wants to convince Eiji to do something that will make Katsuki think he really would cheat on him. Using me,' I thought.

~Line Break~

After about an hour of strategizing, Deku and I were dismissed from the office. I was going to make my way to the dorms when an arm wrapped around my stomach; I shrieked softly as the other used his quirk to get us up onto the main building's roof.

"You could warn a girl first," I grumbled.

"What is Kaachan's insecurity?" Midoriya asked me as he released me from his grip.

"What?"

"What. Is. Katsuki. Bakugou's. Insecurity?"

I looked at Izuku Midoriya silently for a few moments. He stared right back. Welp, I guess he's been dealing with Dad long enough to be used to the Bakugou Stare™.

"Why does it matter?"

"I'm not asking you as a classmate. I'm asking as your future sensei and hero. I'm asking as someone that wants to help his best friend. What is it, Shigo?"

I took a deep breath and said everything very quickly. "His biggest insecurity is that I am not truly his daughter."

"Why does he believe that?" he asked, not skipping a beat.

"Multiple reasons."

"List them all. I've got all day."

"You kinda don't. The others will wonder…."

"Let them wonder. It must be something serious if in the future I sent one of my students on such a potentially dangerous mission. This is more important than the others maybe getting curious enough to search for us and come all the way up here to listen," he pointed out.

I groaned. What is up with all the guys around me demanding answers in such a matter of fact manner?!

"Alright, alright! First reason: during the first timeline when Kirishima participated in this mission, he constantly stated his admiration for Hawks in a similar way that he talks about Bakugou. Next one: Hawks actually shows some kind of interest in letting Kirishima into his agency upon graduation despite him already announcing he was considering signing with Fat Gum. He then specifically did not offer Bakugou a position as well, without giving a reason even though they were planning to work as a Hero Duo and refused to go to different agencies. Third: when Kirishima avoided Bakugou for a week before returning with baby me, there had been rumors circulating that the redhead had been seen with a certain red winged hero. Fourth: when I was three months old, my wings sprouted…."

"You don't have wings now," he interrupted with confusion.

"Future Hawks suggested disguising my appearance so that questions aren't raised. Don't interrupt me."

"Sorry," he mumbled.

"Like I was saying, my wings sprouted. They were the exact same shade of red as Hawks' wings. Fifth: when my hair started growing, it was naturally black with blond in it where you now see red. Only problem was that it wasn't light blond like the Bakugou's; it was a darker blond closer to Keigo's. Sixth: my second quirk manifested when I was ten. I was able to make any non-living thing harden. Technically I could also further harden Kirishima's hardening quirk, but Hatsume-san believes it's because his quirk itself is non-living and my quirk only works on his already quirk hardened skin. Anyway, Bakugou realized then that I had two quirks that seemingly had nothing to do with sweat, and thus it seemed like I had no Bakugou-esque traits that are hereditary rather than learned."

"You said seemingly. Does that mean you don't know exactly how your second quirk works?" he interrupted again. I glared at him before answering.

"Yes, that's exactly what I mean. I've trained with my quirk, of course, but it's still really hard to tell whether or not my sweat is what is causing things to harden. I sweat a lot naturally, so he assumed that it was a coincidence that my sweaty palms are coming in contact with everything that I had been hardening."

He was silent for a moment before he looked at me. "Why didn't he take you to a quirk specialist? Or have your DNA tested with his to see if you are actually his child?"

I looked away from him. "I don't know. That was the part I have been questioning since I received the mission," I admitted softly. "But future Mina and Momo have a theory. They believe his pride got in the way of having me tested. He didn't want to admit to anyone, not even himself, that he feared something so terrible could be true. That he believed the love of his life could have actually cheated on him over an argument, thus changing their lives and plans forever. If he had gone to the quirk specialist, that would've been fine to the public. Normal even. He would have appeared to merely want me to know the current parameters of my quirk.

"But to go to a DNA testing site? And to ask to have testing done on his only daughter to see if she was a match for him? He is the number 2 hero, Deku. Word would have gotten out one way or another that there was trouble in paradise. Not to mention he would have specifically needed to go to the quirk user that created me using Kirishima's DNA and whoever he last had been intimate with. He would've had to admit that he feared something was wrong with his family. His fears would have been either cleared or confirmed, and the entire world would know as well."

"So you think he kept it all in because he didn't want to risk the undesired attention," he said softly.

"Yeah, I do."

We were silent for a moment.

"Alright, let's fix that."

"What?" I looked up at him as he stepped closer to wrap an arm around me again. "Where are we going?"

"To a quirk specialist. We might not be able to do DNA testing right now because that would look suspicious when a match is found between two teenagers. But at the moment, you are simply Kirigaya Shigo, an American hero in training that is curious about how her quirk works. The world would not care about your results because you have no ties to Kaachan."

"I… How will this change anything? The test is being done in the past, not the future!" I yelped as he used black whip to swing us to the entrance of the school. I could see Aizawa talking to Hawks in the distance.

"Because I will keep an unopened, fully sealed copy of the results with me until the day you tell me to keep it. Kaachan is smart. He always has been, and he always will be. No one else might figure out who you truly are and might forget Kirigaya from third year, but Kaachan won't forget you. He will figure out the truth one day. And on that day, I will give him the results to prove, once and for all, that you are truly his daughter."

Tears welled up in my eyes. "Why would you do this for me?"

"Because you are my student, Shigo. Whether in the past, present, or future, I would never leave a student to go through something like this alone."

I really hope this clears some things up for you guys! If you have any further questions, I'll be happy to answer them in the comment section or in the next chapter! Until then, look forward to the man hunt coming up in the next chapter!

Reviews and constructive criticism is greatly appreciated.
