Finally, the last chapter!

Merrifield, Virginia

There were a lot of things Skye didn't think about when she locked herself in the bathroom. Chief among them, how this wasn't going to be as much of a punishment on Dean as it would be on her.

Sitting on the toilet lid, she could hear that the brothers had turned on the TV; blatantly ignoring the fact that she'd been in the bathroom for over twenty minutes. Meanwhile, all she could do was sit there, stare at the wall, and try to guess at what they were watching based only on the muffled sounds coming through the closed door. (It had a lot of shooting, whatever it was.) She should have known Dean wasn't going to be bothered by a little ketchup and mustard smeared over his face. It wasn't quite as uncomfortable as being covered head-to-toe in dirt.

Sighing, Skye tried to think of what to do. She couldn't just walk out of the bathroom. That'd just be lame. However, she couldn't sit there forever either. For a moment, she considered taking a shower until she remembered that she had already taken one after she and Sam got back from getting mugged at the bank. She could hardly believe that all of that had happened in the same day…

Whatever. They probably don't want to hear my terrible shower singing anyway.

That's when she got the idea.

Standing up, Skye reached into the shower stall and pulled the knock all the way back. The shower head came to life, sputtering out both hot water and steam. This was probably going to be a huge waste of water, but she liked the added effect it gave. Stepping away, she pressed her back against the wall separating the bathroom from the main room. Now all she had to do was think of a song.

It didn't take her long to come up with one. Given Dean's love of classic rock, it wasn't hard to come up with what the opposite of that was – anything playing regularly on MTV between 1999 and 2001. A.K.A, her middle school years. Christina, *NSYNC, and the Backstreet Boys all would have made fine choices, but for the maximum effect Skye knew she could only go with the true Queen of the Era.

So, taking a deep breath Skye tried testing her voice out.

"Oh baby, baby,"

She couldn't tell if the boys had heard her, so she tried increasing the volume.

"Oh baby, baby,"

She still couldn't tell, so she tried upping the ante – singing as loud as she could, off-key, in the most exaggerated Brooklyn accent she could manage. That had to get their attention, right?

"Oh baby, baby

How was I supposed to know

That something wasn't right here?"

Skye thought she could hear Dean and Sam talking, so she took that as a good indication to keep going.

"Oh baby, baby

I shouldn't have let you go

And now you're out of sight, yeah,"

She'd gotten the brothers' attention at that point. She's pretty sure she heard Dean ask Sam if she was going to sing the whole song. Skye figured she might as well answer that for them.

"Show me how you want it to be,"

Skye clearly heard Dean say "oh, hell no!" A smile broke out across her face.

"Tell me baby, 'cause I need to know now

Oh, because,"

Dean started banging on the door. Skye's laughter was starting to make it hard to sing, but she didn't care. It was probably helping add to the terrible effect.

"My loneliness is killing me…"

How she managed to keep up the stamina to make it through the whole song, Skye would never know.

In the past this is where I've put the announcement for the next story in the series, but I've got to be honest with you all, I haven't finished it yet. I'm currently working on chapter two of that story – which for right now is named "Devil's Triangle" (another name of the Bermuda Triangle, hint-a-dee-hint-hint.) In my outline I have ten chapters planned, but I don't know if it's actually going to come out to that. In any case, if you're not following me as an author on FFN or subscribed to this series on AO3, please go ahead and do that! That way you'll be notified when the next story is posted.
