"I can't believe you got me in this thing," Carina said as she zipped up her wetsuit. They had made reservations to go scuba diving, something that Maya was Really looking forward to. Surprisingly, she had never done it before, and doing so in the New Zealand waters just seemed perfect.
"You may be the only person to look hot in a wetsuit," Maya said as she gave her girlfriend a kiss. "And come on, you don't want to swim with sharks?"
"If I see sharks, I'm outta there," Carina joked. "No way I want to swim with them."
"Well, if we see any, they won't be the deadly kind," Maya reasoned. "They wouldn't put beginners in deadly, shark infested waters."
"If you say so," Carina replied. "But still, sharks kind of freak me out."
"Well, if there are any down there, just know that I am here to protect you," Maya winked.
They made their way out of the hotel and down to the beach where they would be diving. A boat then took them out to the water where a scuba instructor - Debbie went over everything that the group needed to do before they went in the water. All about their oxygen tanks, dive depth, and just all things scuba.
As Carina was getting all of her gear ready to make her way down, she felt two hands on her waist. Thinking it was Maya, she turned around and almost kissed her, but, she in fact, saw it was Debbie.
"Hi, you're gonna want to adjust the straps on your mask," she said, as she did just that for Carina. "That way you will get the best possible air flow."
Carina then felt a hand linger around her waist, which felt a little bit odd, but, she didn't think anything of it.
"So, where are you guys from?" Debbie inquired in her thick kiwi accent.
"I'm originally from Italy, if you couldn't tell," she smiled. "But, my girlfriend is from Seattle, and we live there now."
"Oh, so what brings you to our wonderful country?" Debbie asked
"Well, neither one of us had ever been here, so we wanted to see it, and it is gorgeous. You certainly have a beautiful country."
"Well, thank you," Debbie said as she got a little closer to Carina and adjusted her gear one more time. "If you'd like, I can show you guys a few other places after we're finished."
Maya caught a glimpse of this out of the corner of her eye, and she just burned with rage. She had done her best to try and get rid of her jealousy, but, she just couldn't help it when it came to Carina. She felt like Carina was always getting hit on, by both men and women, and she hated the fact that people couldn't take a hint.
"I'd have to ask my girlfriend," Carina stated. "But, maybe."
Just then, Maya made her way over, feeling that she needed to mark her territory. She came up next to Carina and put her arm around her, making sure Debbie knew who she was with.
"Everything OK over here?" Maya asked as she felt Carina's waist.
"Yeah, Debbie was just helping me adjust some of my gear, but, everything's good."
"Gotcha," Maya said, as she gave Carina a kiss. "Well, it's good to see the instructor is giving you extra attention, while I'm sure there are many other people that need help with their gear."
Carina noticed the shade Maya gave, and she should have, as Maya was laying it on pretty thick. Carina didn't love that Maya could be jealous, but, Debbie was giving her some weird vibes, so this was actually welcome.
"I was just telling your girlfriend that I can show you some more of our country once we are finished diving," Debbie said. "Maybe a boat tour…."
"Maybe," Maya responded. "But, we will probably be busy doing some stuff, just the two of us. You know. As a couple. Because we are a couple."
That was directed right at Debbie, and it made Carina cringe a little, but, she hoped that Debbie would get the message. Right as Maya said that, they approved the diving area and everyone got into position.
Scuba diving was better than either of them could have imagined. Just, being free down in the ocean, in the beautiful New Zealand waters was just amazing. Seeing all the creatures down there was quite a rush, and yes, there were some sharks, but not deadly ones.
Carina and Maya went in the same group, and one of the instructors dove with them, and got some terrific pictures and videos of them swimming along with so many of the creatures of the sea. Carina was initially a little reluctant to do this, but, she was so happy she did, just spending some amazing underwater quality time with the woman she loved, as well as having such a cool adventure.
When they got back to the boat, the whole group was exhilarated from such an amazing time. Everyone really enjoyed themselves, and was just so grateful for the tutelage that the instructors had given them.
"Bambina, thank you so much for making us do this," Carina said as she squeezed Maya close. "This was so much fun, one of the best times of my life."
"Awwwwww, why thank you," Maya said. "I told you you'd like it."
"Scusi, can you take a picture of us?" Carina asked Ryan, one of the people they dove with.
"Absolutely, and after could you take one of my wife and I?" he asked.
"Certainly" Carina said as the two of them exchanged phones. He took a few pics of Maya and Carina in their scuba gear with the ocean behind them, and Carina did the same for him and his wife. The day was wonderful, and just being out in the beautiful New Zealand air was so much better than either of them could have dreamed.
Just then, a familiar voice came up behind the two of them, which made Maya want to scream.
"My offer still stands if you'd like me to show you around a little more," Debbie said as she got close to Carina. Maya hated that this woman seemingly had no boundaries, and kept hitting on her girlfriend.
"Seriously, Debbie," Maya scolded. "I can't believe you'd continuously flirt with my girlfriend right in front of me."
"Well, I figured your girlfriend could use a real woman, not a shrimp like you….."
Maya got so mad at this, and she wanted to take Debbie and throw her overboard. They were just docking when she said that, so, everyone was dispersing and not really paying them much attention.
"Look, you kiwi bitch," Maya said. "I love this woman more than I've loved anyone my whole life, and I don't need you ruining this nice vacation we're having. So please, just step back."
"And, if I don't?" Debbie dared.
Maya then looked at Carina and smiled. Carina nodded, and Maya shoved Debbie into the water, causing her to splash about.
"Now, leave us alone, or next time it will be a lot worse."
The two of them finally left and returned all their gear, and Carina just smiled at Maya.
"Normally I don't like when you get jealous, but that was very hot," Carina said.
"Oh really,?" Maya flirted back
"Yes, now, let's get out of these wetsuits, and have even more fun."
