Summer rushed back to Tais house as quickly as she could, arriving late the next day.
She quickly opened the door and hurried inside. Tai ran to the door when he heard it open. "Summer, you're back!" He said running to her. He looked like an excited kid running to his presents on his birthday. He was surprised when Summer put her hand up to stop him. "Where's Ruby?" she asked.
Tai laughed, "What you don't trust me anymore, I-" she put her finger to his lips shutting him up. She brushed past him and looked around the downstairs for any sign of her. "Is everything okay?" Tai asked
"Where is she, Tai!" she said impatiently.
"Geez relax, Ruby and Yang fell asleep together watching tv, so I brought them up to their rooms, it's actually pretty adorable."
Summer rushed by him and ran up the stairs straight to Ruby's room. She went so fast the wind knocked a few pictures off the walls as she passed. She swung open the door, and took a sigh of relief when she saw her red hair sticking out from under the covers.
She slowly stepped out, closing the door just as Tai came up behind her.
"Summer, what's going on?" He asked. Summer felt bad that she made him worry for nothing.
"It's nothing."
"No, Summer, don't do that. If somethings going on with our kid I have to know! I'm better now, I can help with whatever it is!"
Summer stayed quiet for a moment, thinking about what she should say. She didn't want to tell him that she went after Raven, that would only complicate things.
"Fine, I had a dream." She lied, "About Salem, getting her hands on Ruby. She has my eyes so I thought… I'm sorry, I over reacted. I got scared."
Tais' face went from one of irritation to one of sympathy. He grabbed Summer gently by the hands.
"Summer, it was just a dream." Tai said. She felt horrible for lying to him, especially when he was so understanding. She couldn't even bring herself to look him in the eyes.
"One that could come true though. She has silver eyes, she'll be a target." Summer said quietly. Tai gently placed his hand on her chin and moved her head up until her eyes met his. "Summer, I'm strong too, you don't have to worry. I promise you that as long as I live, I won't let any harm come to that girl." He said in a gentle, reassuring voice. Summers' worry and fear temporarily went away. "If Salem or anyone else comes for her, they won't live to regret it."
Summer wasn't sure what to say, she just stood there staring into his eyes.
"Thank you, Tai." She finally said. Summer moved closer and slowly kissed him.
"I love you." She said, wrapping her arms around his neck. "Forget what I said before, the time is perfect, I want to be with you now." As they kissed, Tai lifted her up, and she wrapped her legs tightly around his waist. He carried her to their bedroom, and fell onto the bed with her.
For the moment Summer felt that as long as Tai was there, everything would be fine.
