Hey guys I'm back for chapter 3! This will be from Arya's POV

Hope you enjoy!

Let me know if you feel Arya is OOC. I'm doing my best to make her as close to the books as possible.

Arya sighed as she sat upon the knotted throne. The council had been in a debate for the last 3 days about elves as well as other races being able to leave Du Welldenvarden as they please. Arya felt this was an absurd thing to be arguing about. This was a time of peace and so there was no reason to restrict where their people decided to go.

Unfortunately many other council members felt that it would destroy their way of life to allow outsiders to enter their borders. It was taking all of her self control to remain calm and collected.

As Lord Däthedr stood to speak she found her mind wondering consistently to her conversation with Eragon two days ago.

The last thing he had said before saying goodbye kept replaying in her head

"You put duty first….like always"

The bitterness in his voice shocked her. She knew he was unhappy with her choice to stay behind and serve her people from the throne but she had never felt that he didn't support her decision until these words were uttered.

This wouldn't have shaken her so badly if it wasn't for the dreams she had been having. It was these dreams that had convinced her she must visit Mount Arngor as soon as possible

"Do not worry little one the truth will be revealed in time" Firnen spoke in her mind

"But these dreams don't feel like normal dreams! They are too real, too vivid to be simple illusions of my mind"

"You have told me this several times little one. My response has been the same"

"Yes I know "Do not fear the future as it doesn't exist and never will" But I can't help but worry"

"What you should worry about is the fact that Lord Däthedr has called your name three times already during this conversation" Firnen replied smugly

Arya refocused on the meeting to find all members staring at her

"My apologies Lord Däthedr I am afraid I had other problems on my mind. Can you repeat the question?"

"Of course my queen, I asked when you plan to leave to visit Fell Thindare and when you plan to return to us"

Arya looked around before responding

"We plan to leave the day after tomorrow. It will take about two weeks to get to Fell Thindare, three if we encounter poor weather. I plan to stay for a month and then return home. In total I would expect my return in about two months time give or take a few days"

"I see" Däthedr replied "and you still maintain your reasons for the visit."

Arya groaned inwardly "Not this again!" She thought to herself. Contrary to what she had told Eragon the council had vehemently opposed her visit siting that the trip was a waste of time and that it looked bad for a queen to leave her people for such a long amount of time.

"As I have reminded the council multiple times I am not only Queen but also a dragon rider and as such there are things I must learn to ensure I am helping all races of Alagaesia to the best of my ability." Arya with a bit of an edge in her voice

"Well spoken" Firnen commented in her mind

Lord Daethir let the matter drop but Arya noticed it was clear that he and much of the council still disapproved

"I grow tired and wish to begin packing so if there is no objection I will end this meeting and begin preparing for departure"

No one said anything and so Arya walked purposefully outside and climbed onto Firnen who promptly took off heading for Oromis's old hut

"The meeting went well then?" Firnen asked with some sarcasm

"You were listening the entire time you know exactly how it went!" Arya replied with a laugh

"Yes well I tuned it out most of the time, I was focused on… other things" Firnen snorted with humor as he sent image after image of Saphira the day her and Firnen had met through their link

Arya's ears reddened but she smiled and responded

"Only a few weeks away my partner of the heart"

Firnen became visibly happy and sent another image across their link….

It was an image of Eragon

Arya, immediately understanding the meaning behind it, quickly responded

"No Firnen we are only friends; in fact I am not so sure we are even that anymore"

The last part being said slower and with sorrow, thinking about their last conversation.

"It will all work out in the end little one"

Later that night as Arya lay in bed, she knew she should sleep, but the fear of what she would see when she did kept her from relaxing. Frustrated, she sat up and turned to her bedside table. Opening her nightstand table she withdrew a small stone tablet. On the tablet was a Fairth of Eragon. Arya stared at it with a mix of emotions flowing through her. Eragon stood at the edge of a boat, his hand in the air as though waving goodbye. Tears streaming down his face as he had watched her leave. It was the last glimpse of him she had in person before he had left. She had made the Fairth seconds after leaving him. Her eyes drew to the right side of the fairth where there was a small spot of color had been blurred. Where her first tears in almost fifty years had fallen. She sighed and a single tear fell onto the tablet slightly distorting the colors. She cursed and cast a spell to dry the tablet. She began to put the fairth back into the drawer before thinking better of it and instead putting it into her now packed bag. She smiled slightly as she laid back down and fell into waking dreams.

This was my favorite chapter to write so far. I found writing from Arya's POV difficult but rewarding. Let me know how I did. I especially loved the parallels between Eragon in the first chapter and Arya in this one. I love that both Eragon and Arya have Fairths of each other but they look at them at different times signifying that Eragon starts his day with his loss and works through it while Arya's entire day is avoiding it until she is alone and the last thing she does is look at Eragon. There are many other important parallels and significant symbolism in these chapters if you look. Point them out if you see them! I will post one of them every chapter until I run out
