The Life of Philip & Syrena - Ch 1
Author's Note: This is NOT a one shot or a story that is going to be abandoned. No matter what happens I will finish it, even if it takes me a rather long time. This is the story of Philip and Syrena, it takes place after/during the ending of POTC On Stranger Tides when Syrena drags Philip down with her.
They are a perfect couple in my eyes, regardless of age difference, species difference etc. I will reflect all of this within the story and I hope everyone reading enjoys.
If you do like this, please let me know with your reviews/comments/feedback. P.S. I will be writing from both their POV's and will switch between them as needed though I'll include their name before such a switch if it's within the same chapter/page.
I am rating this M to future-proof all new chapters, some of which may eventually contain lemons.
"Philip, I can save you. You need only ask."
Syrena is treading water as she says those words to me. But I only have eyes for her as she bobs gently in the water. I want her more than anything else in the world, but first there is something I must get off my chest.
"I seek but one thing." I answer her, looking deep into her eyes. Baring my soul to her, desperate to make her understand.
"What is that?" she responds in her musical tone; her voice is pure beauty. So gentle and yet so strong; The most beautiful sound I have ever heard. I would never get tired of hearing her speak, for as long as I lived. Which currently didn't seem like it would be for too much longer.
"Forgiveness. If not for me, you would never have been captured."
She responds with just one word.
"Ask."
So, I do. If this is the last breath I draw; I would die happy, knowing she had forgiven me for the torture and hurt she'd suffered because of me.
"Forgive me."
Syrena lifts herself further out the water, stretching her hands out to me and wrapping them around my neck as her head moves closer to mine own. I feel the softness of her sweet, delicate lips against my own as she kisses me. It's the most wonderful kiss I have ever experienced, though it is also the first kiss I'd ever experienced. It felt right though, as if it was the right kiss, from the right person at exactly the right time. That pirate captain Jack Sparrow would have probably said 'It's destiny mate.'
A warm energy flows through me, pouring into my body through our kiss. I deepen the kiss as she drags me into the water with her. I am not afraid of drowning because I'm with Syrena and I trust her with my life, my heart and my soul.
My body was unaware of that though and I held my breath automatically as she swam downwards. I would have expected the water pressure to crush me or something, but nothing happened. Eventually I couldn't hold my breath any longer and I breathed in expecting to drown. Instead, I sucked in air as normal, as if I was on dry land and not deep under water.
The kiss of a mermaid prevents a sailor from drowning. The words rang through my head briefly. So, the legend was true it would seem, Syrena had kissed me before dragging me under with her and now I was breathing normally even while under water. That was the last coherent thought I had as the pain in my stomach made itself known and I passed out still in Syrena's grip. The image of her beautiful golden/coral-coloured scales still fresh in my mind, along with her hazel-green eyes and gentle smile. It was not a bad way to go.
