Her head hurt terribly. She looked around the room and called for someone. Suddenly a woman wearing some sort of medieval servant's clothes entered and Lysa was confused but also felt that she shouldn't be. She remembered that her name was Lysa Tully the second daughter of Lord Hoster Tully of Riverrun and The Paramount Lord of The Riverlands. She remembered that she also had a previous life where she was named Cinderella Swahn. Her previous parents had a funny humor as they named her after a fairytale princess.
"My lady, you have woken up. I'll go and tell the Lord that you have woken up." The maid bowed before running away.
A few moments later a man with grey hair turned up along with a girl that had red hair.
"Lysa!" The red-haired girl shouted and went to hug her all of a sudden.
Lysa remembered that the girl's name was Catelyn Tully and she was her biological sister and also the more beautiful one out of the two of them. It was as if she had stole everything that was for beauty in their mother's womb and all that was left for Lysa was simply enough to survive. Still, according to Cinderella she shouldn't complain as she had an easier life as a noble-man's daughter. She never had to go hungry in her life but Cinderella starved furing her early years and resorted to stealing and other crimes in order to survive.
"How do you feel?" Her father seemed to genuinely be concerned about her.
"I'm well. I hit my head but the fall didn't break anything. Although, it still hurts a little bit."
"That's good," he took his time looking at her as if he was analysing her. He must think that something was wrong because he probably noticed a slight change in her personality too. "Well, we shall give you some more rest."
Catelyn hugged her and told her to get well as their father closed her bedroom door.
After her family left Lysa took her time in front of the mirror to analyse herself. Her hair was different. It was not black like Cinderella's but red and not as beautifully red like Catelyn's. Instead her hair was more like a carrot. She was also very young and so her body hadn't developed yet. Cinderella had at least D-cups and a booty before she died. What they did have in common, however, was that both of them weren't great beauties and often overshadowed by other women but Cinderella compensated her lack of beauty with her brain. She was a sweet-talker and a hustler, because as they said in her world, "If you are no beauty then you better be smart." Cinderella grew up in the slums of Cebu, The Philippines and begged strangers for money on the streets. Some took pity on her but others ignored and she wouldn't blame them. Because she knew that they had more experience with beggars than those that gave her money. Most children that were beggar didn't even beg for themselves. They were often taken advantage by criminal gangs who sometimes even made them in disabled people just so that they would be more pitiful and gain more money from passerbyers. But Cinderella had been a smart girl and knew who were from criminal gangs and who weren't and she often stayed away from their turfs so that she wouldn't earn herself a beating or worse, get raped. She ended up stealing a Swedish man's wallet and he had caught her after they ran around until she reached a dead end. She handed back his wallet and he let her go. From then on they would meet from time to time, since it was a tiny city she lived in. She learned that the Swedish man was a Catholic Christian who had come to The Philippines to hold some seminars. In the end, the Swedish man adopted her and took her to Sweden after tons of paperwork. Life in Sweden had been difficult because of the language barrier but she learned how to survive even if she learned slower than others. She grew up and became a well-liked teacher and now she was a little girl again. And she hoped that it was more of a blessing than it actually felt.
When she recovered Lysa began to study more about this medieval world. It wasn't that she had forgotten all her studying up till now, however, she needed to learn more in order to compare it to Cinderella's world. In Cinderella's world there were cars, airplanes and fast boats. Humans ruled the earth, the sky and the sea. But similarly to Lysa's world there were still corrupt people, rapists and pedophiles. There was poverty and starvation. In the end, their worlds weren't so different. The only difference lies in technology.
Since she had woken up everyone had realized how much the bratty sister of the beautiful sister Catelyn Tully had changed. She had become quieter and walked more slowly, taking her time. Her eyes almost pierced your soul like she had already figured you out. No one could tell for sure if Lysa's fall was a blessing or a curse. Only time would tell.
Lysa really began working on her body. She secretly trained in her bedroom. At first she used chairs for exercise but then she had a treadmill built after some weeks of sweet-talking into her father's ears and pleading. The treadmill was made out of wood and fabric. She made at least fifty squats before breakfast and massaged her breasts for at least half an hour before bedtime. She always locked her door so that no one could enter while she exercised because she knew that it wasn't encouraged for women to do such things in this world. Women were supposed to sit still and look pretty, but Lysa wasn't a pretty sight to begin with so that rule didn't apply to her.
Most of her days were spent on learning how to sew, which Lysa already knew how to do. The sewing techniques weren't as advanced as the techniques Cinderella was taught but Lysa Arryn was not someone that had been good at it and hence why Lysa continued to do lazy and bad sewing while her sister Catelyn was praised. She didn't hate Catelyn now that she understood from Cinderella's memories that it wasn't Catelyn's fault for her feeling inferior and miserable before. In fact, it had been everyone else's fault as they were the ones who always compared her to her sister.
Sometimes you might wonder if she is The Lady Tully's child. She has none of her beauty at all as if a troll had replaced the real child.
Her father always favoritised his eldest daughter in front of her.
Catelyn gets to do it because she is the oldest.
And she knew what the common people were saying about her.
She really does look like she is an old woman already.
She is so ugly!
If Cinderella's memories hadn't fused with Lysa she would really begin to hate her sister at some point. But from Cinderella's view point not once had Catelyn seen herself above Lysa and had always loved her younger sister. Unfortunately Catelyn was also the oblivious and narrow minded type of person even if she saw herself as intelligent.
Lysa prayed daily to God. Not the gods. The God. The only God there truly is regardless of which world she was in. Although she was forced to go to the sept along with her sister she never once prayed to the gods of The Faith of The seven. She also kept her mouth shut whenever they were singing hymns and doing prayers. When she was asked by the septa why she wasn't praying like her sister Lysa pretended that she was bored and more interested in playing outside and after a large tantrum, which was caused because the septa tried to force her on her knees and pray to The Seven. She was physically punished and banned from the sept. Hoster Tully was very disappointed in her for shaming him and their family in front of others. She didn't care and prayed to Lord Jesus Christ and complained about her family, while asking for guidance.
As Lysa got more used to her situation she mentally prepared herself for the day when she would be forced to marry a stranger. She suspected that it would be Lord Paramount's son since Hoster wouldn't probably settle for anything less. She didn't look forward to marrying a stranger but she did look forward to the freedom she would have as The Lady of The House and hopefully her husband wouldn't often be home. In fact, Lysa would be happy if he had many mistresses and never came to her bed. She didn't want to get any diseases after all.
As time went on Lysa began to understand that Cinderella hadn't just been reborn in another world but it was also a world inside a book or TV-show and that was because of Rhaegar Targaryen and Elia Martell's wedding. She remembers that these characters were part of a story which everyone in Cinderella talked about at some point during her High School years. However, Cinderella hadn't watched the show herself as her adoptive father didn't even have HBO or a TV for that matter. Instead she learned bits and pieces of the story from her friend.
The story went something like this. A silver-haired married prince named Rhaegar crowned Lyanna Stark a girl engaged to Robert Baratheon. And then all smiles died. Rhaegar allegedly raped Lyanna and Robert rebelled against the monarchy and won the war. Then Lyanna had a son called Jon Snow and a brother named Ned who got beheaded by someone named Joffrey who was the most hated character. Joffrey was the son of Cersei whose brother beheaded the mad king and saved lots of people because the king had intended to burn everyone with wildfire. And then there was someone named Tyrion Lannister who had a big role, Lysa supposed from the conversations she remembered Cinderella had heard.
In all of this from what she knew there was no one named Lysa Tully or Catelyn Tully or Hoster Tully, so she thought that Lysa Tully was simply a background character like most characters in the famous TV-show people were talking about in her world. In one way, it was satisfying to know that she didn't have a written destiny or died in a horrible way but in another it worried her slightly that she had no knowledge of what would happen to her. And from what she knew about the show, most people died. Well, then she would simply need to make sure that she would survive as long as possible.
May God be with her throughout her struggles.
