Chapter 5 - You Have To Be Ezra…

Sarah watched as Ezra entered her sister's bedroom and smiled. She was certain their reunion would be memorable. As the door closed, she turned immediately hurrying back to the music room and Vin.

Pausing as she entered the door, she saw him sitting quietly on a chair near the piano. He seemed to be glancing about the room; his curiosity was on full display, his eyes seemed to be studying everything around him.

That ended the minute he saw her enter the room. He got up and came to her, pulling her back into his arms kissing her deeply.

"You have no idea how much I missed you and the baby. A part of me was afraid I would never see ya again."

Sarah gazed back into his blue eyes, letting a few tears rolled down her cheeks. "I felt the same way." Hugging her husband tightly, she said, "I know you want to see Rachel right now, but after that…I want you to take me to bed. I want you to make mad passionate love to me."

Vin grinned. "Yes ma'am! That is somethin I will be happy to do."

Sarah smiled softly. "Well then let's go see your daughter." Taking his hand, she led him out of the room and down the hall.

Opening her bedroom door she walked toward another door, saying, "Rachel has a small room off of this one… she is probably asleep." Opening it, a soft light lit up the interior. As expected, Rachel was lying on her back sound asleep.

Vin stood for a moment looking down at his little girl…she had grown in the seven months she had been missing. He felt a couple of tears fall down his face. Turning to Sarah, he whispered, "She's gotten a tad bigger it looks like."

She nodded. "Yes she has. I think she's really beginning to favor you…especially her curly hair."

Vin smiled as he leaned down kissing her forehead. Righting himself, he took his wife into his arms. "It's possible, but she is for sure gonna be a beauty…just like her momma."

Returning his smile, the two of them left the room quietly closing the door.

Vin suddenly picked Sarah up, carrying her to the bed. She grabbed his hat tossing it onto a chair as they passed it. Laying her down, he quickly pulled off his boots before she grabbed her husband pulling him down next to her.

Laughing and giggling, they soon began to get serious, kissing and caressing each other…taking their time as they removed their clothes.

Rolling Sarah over so he was on top of her, Vin sighed, "Over the last few months, I almost couldn't bring to mind how damn beautiful you are." Running his hands over her bare shoulders, letting them drift down her sides, he sighed again. "Your body has always been so soft. Feeling you right now is like comin home."

He began to move his hands across her breast, making Sarah moan. Kissing her mouth, he slowly ran them between her thighs, stroking them apart.

Settling his body between her legs, Sarah started moving her hands up and down his member drawing out long, loud, groans from him. His blue eyes gazed into hers as he pushed slowly into her, making them both gasp with pleasure.

"Oh darlin…I am home." He whispers as he began to thrust in and out of her.

Sarah closed her eyes, as Vin loved her. Her moans and groans filled the room.

"Oh Vin...take me away"

As their lovemaking began to intensify, Vin pulled Sarah closer to his body, thrusting harder.

"I love you so much Sarah…."

Sarah's mouth covered his, kissing him as she lifted her body up to meet his. She wrapped her legs around his waist pushing hard against him.

Back and forth, Vin drove hard into his wife, both of them moaning wildly as their ragged breathing filled each other's ears.

"Sarah….Sarah…" he grunted as he grabbed her butt feeling her squeeze tightly onto his shaft.

Feeling he was about to climax, Vin panted and moaned against Sarah's mouth until thrusting one last time he held her body against his. He finally released into her burning center shoving his face into the pillow behind her head, yelling into it.

Sarah clutched her husband as he continued to push his crotch hard into her until she felt herself release too.

Holding their bodies together for a time, Vin eventually lifted up gazing at his wife, her heavy breathing matching his own. Her eyes were shut tight, but a smiled covered her face.

"You are so incredible darlin."

Finally looking back at her husband, she gazed into his smiling blue eyes. "I could say the same thing about you Mr. Tanner."

Snuggling next to him, she rested her head on his chest sighing softly. Vin gave his own sigh as he pulled her into his embrace as the two of them drifted into a comfortable sleep.

Mary and Chris soon left with Billy for the night, leaving Buck alone with Emily. Walking over to the large couch, she patted one of the cushions inviting him over to sit beside her.

Buck sauntered across the room, sitting down next to her on the couch.

"So Mr. Wilmington, what made you decide to come with your friends?"

Turning toward Emily, he smiled, "Well first off, you can call me Buck. No need to be so formal."

Emily smiled. "In that case Buck, just call me Emily…Em for short."

Smiling back, he said, "Alright Emily…I was the one that originally found Sarah and Rebecca. They've been good friends since the beginnin. Of course, it wasn't until later we found out where they came from. Ezra and Vin found out before the rest of us. I'm guessin they told ya'll about their arrival and their return."

Emily nodded. "Yeah, Becky and I have been best friends since the 5th grade so she immediately called me when they returned here. I couldn't believe it…thought someone was jerking my chain, but I realized it was her. So I came to pick her and Sarah up and they told me the whole story. It was incredible!"

Buck leaned back against one of the cushions. "When the ladies were kidnapped and disappeared back to the future…my friends decided to try to follow them, to find their way here. I had to come with them. Besides, I wanna to see the future."

Emily smiled. "I can understand that." Standing up she said, "I know you must be tired…let me show you where you can sleep."

Buck got to his feet, "That would be real kind of you." Grabbing his backpack, he followed her to a bedroom close by.

Opened the door, she switched on the overhead light. "I hope you'll find this room comfortable. The bathroom is through that door. You're also welcome to go to the living room if to want to watch TV since it's close to this one."

As he was looking around, he turned back to Emily. "TV?"

Emily leaned against the door-jam smiling. "I'm sorry…that's right…you've never been privy to the wonders of television. Before you go to bed, would you like to watch some?"

Buck tossed his hat on the bed then walked back toward Emily. "Well darlin, just lead the way to this wondrous contraption."

Grinning, Emily took his arm, walking in the direction of the living room.

Rebecca yawned, stretched and rolled over in bed. The sight that greeted her made her smile. Last night hadn't been a dream…Ezra really was here. She was about to kiss her husband until she heard the baby begin to whine.

Slipping from the bed, she whispered, "Oh my little one…it must be time to eat again."

Going over to the crib, she gently lifted Laura into her arms. Sitting down, she unbuttoned her gown and let the baby attach to her breast. Rocking back and forth, Rebecca quietly let the baby nurse as she hummed to her.

"Hush little baby don't you cry, mommy's going to sing you a lullaby."

"Do you know how beautiful you are?"

Turning towards the bed, Rebecca realized Ezra was propped up watching her.

Blushing a bit, she smiled softly at her husband. "It's the baby effect that makes it seem that way."

Shaking his head, he sat up in bed. "No my darlin girl…it's all you. You are beautiful."

Continuing to blush, she said, "God…how I missed being with you."

"And I missed having you next to me Becca. There was a part of me that feared I would never hold you again or see our son grow into manhood. Of course, I wasn't aware I also had a baby daughter to dote on. I tried not to give voice to the whispers inside my head, but secretly I was dying."

As she continued to nurse the baby, she said, "I tried not to think about the possibility of never seeing you again. I didn't want to believe that fate would allow us to meet and fall in love only to tear us apart."

Rising from the bed, Ezra walked over to stand next to Rebecca caressing her cheek. He then leaned down to kiss the top of his daughter's head. As the baby finished nursing, she gently burped her before placing her back into the crib.

Rebecca turned immediately kissing her husband, cupping his groin in her hands. Ezra grasped a bit as she began to back him toward the bed, massaging him through the thin fabric of his underwear as they moved.

"Oh darling…what are you attempted to do to me?" He moaned loudly.

"Just taking care of you." She whispered. "It's been seven months since we've been together… and right now we aren't able to make love, but I can definitely help you feel better."

Pushing him back onto the bed, she pulled off his soft underwear and proceeded to stroke his member eliciting a loud groan from him. Crawling onto the bed next to him, she then took him into her mouth making Ezra almost come off the mattress in response.

"Good Lord!" He moaned clamping his eyes shut, drawing out a series of loud groans each time she slid up and down his length. Grabbing the mattress, he lifted up to meet her mouth groaning as he pushed into it.

Rebecca swirled her tongue around the tip of his throbbing shaft smiling at the guttural sounds he was making. Running her hands up and down his chest, she continued to suckle on him. Ezra grunted and groaned as he pushed himself deeper past her lips.

"Oh Becca!" he moaned loudly, "my darlin girl!"

As she continued her ministrations, Ezra twisted and turned on the bed, panting hard with everything she did.

"Oh darling…I'm not sure I can take much more. I'm so close." He whimpered as his chest rose and fell with his ragged breathing.

"Then let go, my love. Release yourself to me."

As she continued to move her mouth up and down his shaft, she pulled him one last time into her mouth finally feeling him let go. Ezra grabbed one of the bed pillows with one hand, stuffing it into his face to hold in his scream while he pounded the mattress with the other.

Collapsing back onto the bed, Ezra splayed his legs out with one hanging off the bed allowing his breathing to slow. He slowly opened his eyes gazing at his wife.

"My darlin girl…I have never felt so relaxed…I feel incredible. What you did was…" He wiped one hand across his sweaty brow before letting his arm fall limply back onto the blanket.

Smiling down at him, she placed one hand on his chest, feeling his fast beating heart. "I hope I was able to make you feel better."

Ezra had closed his eyes again, but he wore a big goofy smile on his lips. "Oh darlin…you have no idea."

Rebecca smiled as she stretched out beside him. "I love you…just wanted you to know it."

"Darlin, every day that I've been with you is all the proof I will ever need about your love. I've never doubted it." He whispered.

Wrapping her up in his arms, he kissed her as they both drifted back to sleep.

A few hours later, Rebecca finally got up and wandered in the kitchen. Emily and Buck were having breakfast with Rachel, Michael and Billy.

Smiling at her best friend, she said, Aww Em…why didn't you wake me? I would have made Michael something to eat.

"Well, I thought about that, but I thought everybody needed some alone time, so I roused the kids to feed them…and Buck offered to help. Besides Michael is my sweetie, aren't you my big guy?"

Michael nodded as he shoved another spoon full of cereal into his mouth.

So where is Ezra?"

"Well, my husband has discovered the joys of indoor plumbing. I introduced him to my shower spa and well…that's the last I've seen of him. If he doesn't show himself in say…half an hour, I may have to go in after him." Rebecca replied with an evil grin.

Emily chuckled loudly before feeding a spoonful of bananas to Rachel.

Pouring herself a steaming cup of coffee, Rebecca sat down next to her son. She ruffled his hair before asking her friend Buck, "So how did you sleep last night?"

"Just fine. Before going to sleep, Emily showed me…television?" She nodded at him. "I gotta say I found it interestin. The future is sort of different. I never thought much about it until you ladies arrived in Four Corners, but now that I'm here in your time …it is not what I imagined."

Sipping her coffee, she replied, "I wish I could tell you that it won't get stranger from here, but it will."

"I don't doubt it from what little I've seen so far."

Rebecca nodded getting up to make herself something to eat. As she began to make some eggs, Chris and Mary entered into the kitchen followed soon by Sarah and Vin.

Sarah joined her sister helping to cook breakfast for her friends.

Finally, Ezra made his way into the kitchen greeting everyone. He came up behind his wife, wrapping his arms around Rebecca's waist. Kissing her cheek, he whispered, "Good morning my darlin girl."

Wiping her hands, she turned to face him. "How are you feeling after your shower?

"It was wonderful. Between the shower and your incredible ministrations from the night before, I feel marvelous this morning."

Smiling as she kissed her husband, she said, "I'm glad. I would do anything for you."

Leaning into her, he said softly, "And when we are able to make love again, I promise I will do the same for you."

"Well in the meantime, are you ready for something to eat?"

"I am darlin."

"Well then, have a seat and I'll get you a plate."

Sitting down next his son, she brought him eggs, toast, bacon and hot coffee. After she set it down, she said, "Emily, I know you didn't get a chance to meet my husband last night…this is Ezra and this Emily Scott, my best friend."

Getting to his feet, he walked over to her side of the table, taking one her hands, "It is indeed a pleasure to finally make your acquaintance. I've heard so much about you."

Emily smiled up at him. "I've heard a lot about you too…and it seems you are exactly as Becky described."

Glanced over his shoulder at his wife, she shrugged. Turning back at Emily, he said, "Well I hope she spoke well of me?"

"Oh absolutely! Rebecca was missing you so much; I think talking about you helped her deal with the pain."

Rebecca smiled at her friend.

Ezra's face erupted in the most captivating smile. Emily could see how easy it must have been to fall for the charming Southerner. He was handsome, intelligent and very personable.

As Ezra returned to his seat, Emily said, "Oh, I completely forgot to mention Becky, Jack called saying he wanted us to come by the arena so we could run through some of our songs before the concert on Friday night."

"I think we also need to do a preliminary sound check too."

"Darlin, I realize I'm showing my ignorance…somethin I am loath to do most of the time…"

"Ain't that the damn truth," Buck interjected quietly.

"But," Ezra glared at the ladies' man, "what precisely is a sound check?"

"You're not showing your ignorance. You couldn't be expected to know what it is. A sound check is something we always perform before a performance…checking our microphones, instruments and amplifiers. I promise I'll show you more when we get to the arena."

Ezra nodded, but he wasn't certain he completely understood her explanation.

M7***M7***M7***M7***M7***M7***M7

A few hours later Rebecca leaned impatiently against the door of the van she had rented, waiting for their group to exit the house. Ezra stood next to her, occasionally turning to look inside it.

"So you will be taking us to this arena building in this contrivance?"

"Yes."

Approximately how far away is it?" he asked.

Sighing, she said, "Not too far…as long as we don't get caught up in too much traffic."

Turning to his wife, he said, "You seem anxious darlin…is somethin on your mind?"

Gazing at Ezra she said softly, "This is the first time I've left Laura alone. We haven't performed any concerts recently. We stopped when I was about 7 months along. After she was born, I wanted to give myself time to heal and to bond with her. It's been almost 4 weeks since I gave birth…in fact it'll be 4 weeks come Friday…I guess I'm just realizing it today."

Putting his arms around her, she put her head on his shoulder. "Is it possible you can postpone your show…try for another date?"

Rebecca shook her head. "I suppose we could, but I don't want to disappoint our fans. We announced this show in advance…I'll be alright. Beside, Mary and Chris decided to stay home to look after the kids and I made sure I left enough breast milk to feed Laura."

Ezra continued to hold her as Sarah and the rest of the group finally came out to the van. Kissing her cheek, he walked around the vehicle and got inside. After everyone was seated, she got behind the wheel before saying, "Make sure your seatbelts are secure… let's get this show on the road.

M7***M7***M7***M7***M7***M7***M7

It took Rebecca 45 minutes to drive to the arena before pulling the van into secured spot and parked.

"Okay everyone let's go. We are running late and I'm sure Jack is probably throwing a hissy fit even as we speak. So we need to get inside." Rebecca said as she jumped out of the van.

As Vin got out, he seemed puzzled. "What's a hissy fit?"

Taking her husband's arm, Sarah giggled. "You're about to see one up close and personal."

As the group approached the back door near the loading dock, Rebecca saw her band mates JoJo and Lynsey sitting outside.

"Hey guys," she waved. "We're finally here. So is Jack flipping out?"

Returning the wave, JoJo grinned. "Why do you think we're out here?" The petite blonde jumped to her feet, putting her hands on her hips. "So are you going to intro me to these handsome dudes or do I have to do it myself?"

"Lordy, but you're pushy Jo!" Rebecca grinned back. "JoJo, Lynsey…I'd like ya'll to meet Ezra Standish and Vin Tanner…our husbands. This other Gentleman is our friend Buck Wilmington."

Both women began to talk at the same time.

"So this is your husband?"

"The ones from the past?"

"How did they get here?"

"I thought they were still in the past?"

"Boy this is beyond weird!"

Sarah and Rebecca both threw up their hands, trying to calm their friends down.

Ezra stepped forward taking the hand of each young woman. "Ladies…it is indeed a pleasure to finally make your acquaintance. Sarah and Rebecca spoke most highly of you, but neglected to say how lovely you are."

JoJo and Lynsey exchanged glances before JoJo said, "You have to be Ezra. We've heard so much about you."

Rebecca snickered quietly as he gave her a confused look.

Gathering her composure, she said, "I have a feeling we'd better get inside before Jack freaks out. We'll finish the introductions after we let him know we are here."

"Probably a good idea because he is fit to be tied." Lynsey agreed.

Entering into the backstage, they could hear the sound of a man's agitated voice echoing throughout the arena.

"You know they do this to upset me! You know they do! I mean why else would they do this?"

"Jack, I highly doubt that Bec, Sarah and Emily would do this intentionally. As usual, you are blowing everything way out of proportion."

Rebecca recognized Kristy's voice trying to calm their manager.

"You know," she turned, looking at Sarah, "Jack never changes. I love the guy to death, but if he keeps this up, he's gonna have a heart attack before he's 50."

Her sister nodded.

"So who is this Jack fella?" asked Vin.

"Oh he is our manager," Emily grinned. "and for the record, he's a wee bit high strung. So don't let him upset you if he starts yelling. He doesn't mean any harm."

As the rant continued, he suddenly caught sight of his missing band members. Walking toward them, he said, "Where the hell have you been? Do you realize you're an hour late?"

He stopped his tirade staring at Ezra, Vin and Buck. "Who the hell are they? Never mind…don't tell me. Rebecca…love…we don't have time for any groupies right now! We need to get on stage to do a run through and do your sound check. We are already late. Follow me."

Vin gave Ezra a questioning stare. The gambler simply shook his head. He had no idea what a groupie was, but he had a feeling it wasn't something he wished to be called.

Rebecca stopped, crossing her arms across her chest. "You know Jack, that big vein in the middle of your forehead is gonna pop one day if you continue to have these attacks."

Ignoring her attempt at humor, he turned to look at her. "Ladies, if you're finished aggravating your manager, could we please shoo off the groupies then get some work done?"

"First off Jack," Sarah replied, a slight edge to her voice, "These men aren't groupies…this is Ezra and Vin, our husbands. Secondly, even though they haven't the foggiest idea what a groupie is, you should apologize for insulting them right now!"

Buck leaned over to Vin saying, "Knew that fella was insulting us."

Vin nodded.

Staring at Sarah like she had sprouted a second head, he answered, "Apologize? Why should I apologize? I didn't know these dudes were your hubbies?"

Rebecca frowned at him. "Well you never gave us a chance to tell you, did you? You just launched into one of your hissy-fits the minute you saw us."

Sarah pursed her lips before winking at Vin.

Closing his eyes for a moment, he took a deep breath. Steading himself, he opened them finally looking at the three of them. "It would appear I owe you Gentlemen an apology. I'm sorry for labeling you without knowing who you were. My mistake."

Ezra put out his hand. "Apology accepted sir. I would assume that you have quite a few questions about us and our sudden appearance?"

Jack issued him a crooked grin. "You must be Ezra. I've heard a lot about you."

Looking at Rebecca, he noticed she couldn't keep from choking back a laugh. "Why does everyone keep saying that to me?"

Giggling, she kissed his cheek. "I promise I will explain later. In the meantime, since this will be the first time you've heard us play, I suggest ya'll sit in the last row of seats on the floor. These amplifiers can be really loud when they start pumping out the sound. Plus it may be a shock to your systems when we start to play…okay?"

The three men walked out onto the floor, taking her suggestion moving to the very back of the arena.

After sitting down, Buck leaned forward propping his arms on the back of the seat in front of him. "We are awfully far back…reckon it'll be hard to even see the ladies from back here."

Ezra sighed and nodded. "Becca wouldn't have recommended we do this unless she was concerned. I suppose once they begin to play their instruments we will soon begin to understand."

Vin quietly kept his eyes focused on Sarah…even though he could barely see her standing on the stage.

As the band began to play, Ezra realized why his wife had purposely had them go to the rear. As the music began to flow from their instruments and the large, square boxes situated across the stage, it didn't take them long to cover their ears trying to dampen the noise echoing all over the building.

"It is so loud!" Vin shouted.

"What was that Vin?" Buck yelled.

"It's loud!" the tracker replied

"Rebecca was definitely correct when she said it would be loud." Ezra yelled.

"What?" Buck replied.

"I said…oh never mind!" Ezra shouted back at Buck.

For the next hour, the band played different songs before beginning a systematic sound check on all their different instruments they would be using during the show.

Finally as the band finished, Rebecca waved them back to the front of the arena. Ezra, Vin and Buck returned to the stage as Rebecca, Sarah and the others walked down the stairs onto the floor.

Rebecca put her arms around him saying, "So what did you think?"

Looking at her, he said, "What did you say?"

"I asked, what did you think?"

"Sorry darlin, I'm having difficulty hearing you at the moment."

"Was the music that loud?"

"Excuse me."

"Never mind…we will talk later." She smiled.

Telling her friends that she needed to speak to Jack before they left, everyone went outside to wait for her. It didn't take long before she joined them.

Climbing back into the van, she slowly backed out of the parking space, making her way back to the ranch. She had a feeling the rest of the night could be little bit interesting.
