AN:
Disclaimer: I don't own the song which is mentioned in this chapter.
She washed herself and got dressed with the help of her two maidservants.
"Is my sister awake?" She doubted that she would be as it was still pretty early.
"Lady Catelyn is still sleeping, my lady." Lysa thought so.
As she got out of her room Edmure had stood waiting for her. And like a true gentleman he escorted her to breakfast.
Not unexpectedly, it was only them who were having breakfast while the servants were still cleaning up from yesterday and preparing for the feast tonight. Most of the other people were still sleeping.
Lysa couldn't believe that she would have this entire hall for herself this morning. And the hall echoed so lovingly too. She couldn't help herself as she remembered one of Cinderella's favourite cartoon movies.
When the world outside comes
Whirling like a windstorm
And it seems my fondest dreams
Have faded all from view
She danced and twirled towards the dance floor.
This is where you'll find me
In my magic palace
Turning every storm cloud
A lovely sky of blue
The servants all stopped to watch the youngest daughter of House Tully start performing a musical number. She hadn't been as pretty as her sister but she sure turned out to be talented in singing.
In my kingdom here
With no one but me
I can wish the world
The way it should be
Edmure simply sat and ate his breakfast while watching the scene as his crazy sister was spinning around and dancing as if there was someone dancing with her. He swore that sometimes she could be so out of reality that she didn't notice her surroundings.
Suddenly there's kindness, poetry and art
In my kingdom of the heart
The echoes of the song reached the different bedrooms and woke some people up from their sleep while hypnotically leading awake people to The Hall of the Hundred Hearths.
Looking in her eyes there
I become the princess
Floating on the ballroom floor
In petticoats of lace
Jon Arryn had heard the pleasant voice while having his morning walk in the gardens and had followed the voice. He saw the youngest daughter of Hoster Tully dance alone while singing.
People bowing gently
Caring for each other
Every man his brother
Every moment filled with grace
Ned Stark who just woke up and came to get breakfast didn't expect to also get a performance without music, although that wasn't needed as the echoes were creating it. He hadn't known that Lysa Tully was so gifted. Although he didn't really care about looks he couldn't help but compare her to her sister sometimes in terms of beauty. He had liked the dance that Lysa made him participate in and it had given him the opportunity of speaking more with Ashara Dayne.
In my perfect place
Where songs will inspire
Every family blessed
With food on the fire
Every heart in this room was being touched by the song, especially the servants'. Many other servants came to the hall just to hear her singing.
Every prince and pauper gets to play his part
In my kingdom of the heart
Rhaegar Targaryen had just arrived at the hall and saw a pretty outstanding scene. When Rhaegar first saw Lysa Tully which was on the dance floor when she was dancing with her family and her family to be, he had been intrigued. Even more so the girl had spoken calmly to him as if she had no interest in him. That was a first for him. People usually wanted something from him as he was a prince. Some only wanted his attention and others wanted his support with something. Some even desired to become his mistress or even his queen even though he was already married.
For a brief moment Rhaegar didn't feel like a prince or that he was a destined child. There were no duties. There were no responsibilities. In this moment right here he was just a spectator like everyone else.
And while I am wishing, how sweet it would be
With a someone to share it all with me
Her whistle notes took everyone by surprise as no one had sung such notes before. The control of her voice was astounding.
Make him kind and clever
Sensitive and smart
One who'll live forever
In my kingdom of the heart
Something gripped the hearts of the men in the room but nobody knew what it was.
A moment of perfect silence was ruined by Edmure.
"Great song! Now can you eat your breakfast so that we can go and play Fairytales and Legend?" He was so sick of hearing this song she had sung so often in Riverrun. Besides, he didn't like the crowd she had gathered.
No one clapped or applauded as they were still wondering if they were dreaming or not and Lysa didn't care and took a piece of bread as she dragged Edmure out of the hall.
"Edmure, you should have told me!" She scolded his brother and hit him lightly on his shoulder
"Well, sister dear, if you stopped closing your eyes while you're singing then you would notice your surroundings more." He feigned injury and kept a few steps from her worried that she would hit him again.
She didn't hit Edmure and she took the piece of bread and ate, as she prayed to God that he made people forget this embarrassing moment of hers.
They went to find some players who were not going to see the tournament as the role-playing game did take quite a long time.
They sat and waited outside the large hall and stopped children from time to time to ask if they could play with them. Lysa even asked Cersei Lannister despite knowing what Cersei thought of her. The girl rejected her cruelly but that was not unexpected. She asked Jaime Lannister and his brother Tyrion if they wanted to join a game with her and Edmure. Tyrion curiously asked her what the game was about and she explained to them as short as possible. Tyrion said that he would stop by and see but didn't make any promises.
She managed to convince Selyse Florent to play with her and Edmure. The girl seemed very happy to have been personally invited.
The entire morning was spent recruiting players for the game.
After asking hundreds of children Lysa finally settled with Selyse Florent and also Stannis Baratheon along with Renly Baratheon. Tyrion wasn't a sure deal yet.
Renly was among the youngest of children that had come to visit Harrenhal. He was only four years old and in normal circumstances, he should have been in Storm's End until he got old enough to journey outside but Renly had been insisting on coming to Harrenhal to be with his brothers. In the end, the four-year-old got what he wanted.
Lady Whent had been kind enough to lend her an empty room that she was free to decorate. Her servants quickly put up a large table and also brought the different chests which contained decorations.
Lysa chose to decorate the table into a ruined miniature castle and put a purple little dragon toy in front of the castle. At the beginning of the table, she had a figure toy named Snowwhite from the fairy tale in Cinderella's world. She was placed next to a miniature tavern. Then there was an army of orcs controlled by a black magician.
"My lady, they are all here now and they are all done filling in the paper sheets."
"Show them inside."
Edmure, Selyse, Stannis, Renly and Tyrion walked inside.
"Wow, my dear sister, you have outdone yourself." Edmure took the seat closest to the Storyteller (Lysa's version of a Dungeon Master).
"Please warriors and heroes take a seat." She encouraged them when the four others didn't.
"Welcome to the world of Fairytales and Legends where I tell you a story and you make choices in the story. Is the first rule clear?" The children nodded and Lysa continued. "So your journey begins at the Tavern of Tears. Named after a poor mermaid who sold her tears to a Sea Witch in order to become a human so that she could confess her love to a human prince she saw. Unfortunately the mermaid's love was rejected and the prince married a princess. Heartbroken she tried to go home but her wish to make her human was permanent and so she was stuck. With her ability to turn her tears into pearls she sold her pearls for coins and eventually opened up a tavern. And it is here that you have all gathered from different realms. Warriors and heroes introduce yourselves." She looked at Edmure.
"I am Ser Asgard," Edmure began in his Asgard voice which sounded similar to British. "I am a fallen knight and was banished from serving the king of my kingdom after I slept with his wife, the lovely Queen Arandella." Stannis frowned while Renly and Tyrion chuckled. "Now I work as a mercenary and I have shoulder-length red-hair, a read beard which is braided into two braids, ruby red eyes and a crooked nose and several wounds on my body which I earned from the torture of the king. I am very strong and good with swords but I also have the ability to see and talk to ghosts and the dead spirits that still roam the world."
Once Edmure stopped talking Lysa turned her head towards Selyse Florent.
"Oh, I'm Wisa. I'm an elf and very good with herbs and potions. I have long black hair, blue eyes, and green skin and I also have pointy ears. I'm not much of a fighter but I can create poisons and cures with herbs around me."
"Welcome, Wisa." Lysa said. "And you?" She turned to Stannis Baratheon.
"I am Stannis the half-god. I am half human and half god. I am called the ruler of the seas and The King of The Oceans," Lysa saw Renly roll his eyes. "I have brown hair, a large muscular body and I have the power to bend water and I'm very good with swords."
"A half-god has blessed us with his presence." Lysa commented and then turned to Renly.
"I am Ren of Storm. I am a dragonrider. I have black hair and a tall body. I have my own dragon named Val who is black and has green eyes. I am very good with swords."
"And I'm Lionel The Great. I am the youngest accomplished magician of my kingdom. I have long blonde hair, a moustache and I am tall and I also happen to ride a dragon named Dani."
"Welcome, Ser Asgard, Wisa, Stannis the half-god, Ren of Storm and Lionel The Great. Now we shall begin a new legend."
The quest was to steal Princess Snow White's stepmother's heart which lay in a box inside a hidden room guarded by a purple dragon so that she could burn it and finally kill her stepmother who was an evil witch. In reward they would receive millions of gold coins and also a legendary sword. Renly and Tyrion offered to have the team ride on their dragons. As they did that a dark wizard with his evil shadow minions appeared. The evil shadow minions killed Renly's dragon and Tyrion's dragon was badly hurt and needed rest. And so they would have to make the journey on foot. Was Lysa kind to them during the journey? Nope. She had them walk through a land filled with graveyards and because they couldn't reach the end of the land before sunset they had to fight themselves out. Then there was also Snow White's evil stepmother who disguised herself as poor woman in need of help. Stannis had tried to be the hero and he ended up getting stabbed in the chest by a poisonous blade. Of course, there was a cure to the poison and Wisa was the one who ended up curing him. Meanwhile, Snow White's evil stepmother made them enter an illusion which was difficult to get out of. The team was almost forced to a dead end when the fairy princess Cinderella saved the day. She was simply passing through on her bewinged horse when she saw them suffer from something and helped them. And so their journey continued. They finally arrived after a long and tedious journey that took three hours alone to make it there. They fought the dragon bravely or rather Stannis did. The rest ran away in fear. Tyrion betrayed the team and went to look for the box which contained Snow White's stepmother's heart. Stannis did end up defeating the dragon with the help of Edmure. Selyse was hiding behind a rock and making smoke poisons with low effect. And when she threw the bottle of it unto the dragon the bottle missed and ended up hitting Edmure in the head and the poison took him. He ended up falling asleep and not dying. Luckily Renly returned after having abandoned his brother's character and together they defeated the dragon. Meanwhile, they found Tyrion's character hanging for dear life as he had stepped into a trap. Stannis was reluctant of helping Tyrion's character as it had betrayed the team even as Tyrion begged him to spare him. Renly took pity and finally decided to help Tyrion. The box was guarded by moving platforms which were the size of people. Together they managed to get the box but the evil stepmother returned as an eight-headed dragon and they managed just barely to defeat it by having Tyrion burn it with fire several times as the box had a high durability. They returned to Snow White who gifted them the sword along with a million gold coins to share among others. The name of the sword was Dragon Slayer. And the sword was given to Stannis since he insisted that he had done most of the work.
"That was the best game I've ever played." Selyse said in joy as they walked with each other to the feast. "Can we play tomorrow?"
"Sure, I'll have the story done by tonight."
The six of them arrived at the feast after it had started. They saw Rhaegar playing a harp while singing a sad and hauntingly beautiful song that made all the ladies teary-eyed.
Lysa said goodbye to Selyse as she went with Edmure to sit at their table.
"I take it that the game went well," their uncle Brynden said as he had come to visit one time during the game.
"Yes, it did. There was some disputes but it went well in the end. Did we miss anything important, uncle?"
"Well, not really if you don't count the beginning of his highness' song." Lysa nodded and ate while listening to Rhaegar who certainly wasn't making it easy for anyone to eat with his sad and tragic song.
His song eventually ended, thank God for that. It was really becoming difficult to hear women sob and cry and also blow their noises which only made eating dinner even more difficult for Lysa.
She danced a few dances with Edmure before deciding to go to her room and start preparing the story for tomorrow.
"Lady Lysa Tully," Rhaegar Targaryen approached her as she was just about to leave and retire so that she could come up with a new story.
"Your highness," she curtsied and greeted him calmly.
"Are you already retiring?" Rhaegar was suddenly paying attention to her.
"Well, it has been a long day, your highness." He seemed sad for some reason.
"Pity. But I shall not keep you from the sleep you might need."
"Well, good night then, your highness." She curtsied once more and then walked to her room with her guard behind her.
As she walked the large halls of the keep she looked outside at the starry sky.
"Sam, the moon is so beautiful." She had to stop and look at it.
" It sure is my lady." The young guard kept his eyes on her.
