Gone Missing: Talk to me, Harry

By: Love Seth

I'm going back and editing this story a bit. Nothing major, just a few things I screwed up on when I wrote it, over a year ago. People who are reading this story and are on chapter 21 or whatever, don't need to worry about going back and reading the edited chapters.

"So... Harry. Can we talk to you for a moment?" James asked, coming out of the den and into the family room where both his sons sat playing a muggle video racing game.

"Just let us finish Dad!" Seth said.

"I'm going to beat you!" he added to Harry. Harry only shook his head. James knew from the past that Harry and Seth were always playing different games against each other. Harry always won.

"HA! I beat you! We have to mark this moment in history!" Seth yelled. Harry put down his control without comment and stood up, stretched, and looked over at his dad who was standing in the doorframe of the den.

"Come in here a second Harry," James said and motioned for Harry to come.

Harry looked back at Seth for a minute and then slowly moved towards his father.

"Sit down there Harry," James said.

Harry was surprised that nobody else was in there, he found it odd because everyone, especially Dumbledore, wanted to find out exactly what happened.

"Are you wondering why it's just me?" James asked as he shut the door and locked it.

Harry nodded slowly. He crossed his ankles and folded his hands. He could feel himself getting all clammy and gross.

"It's bad enough it's me, but you only need to tell me. I'm asked you this seriously Harry, what happened? I want to know because I care," James said.

James took another chairs and sat in front of Harry. He reached over and rested his one hand on both of Harry's. He stared Harry in the eyes but Harry wouldn't return the stare.

"I promise after this we can go do whatever you like. I freed the rest of the day. Mum is just hanging out here with your brother and sister and we can go," James said.

Harry slowly looked up, trying not to look exited, but he really was.

"But, before we can do that you have to tell me what happened and then we have to bring you to the doctors, don't worry though! It's just to check out your cheek and they'll tell us what to do, Mom made you a appointment with Dr. Sexton at 2. That gives us... about 2 hours.

How did they take you and where were you bud?" James asked.

Harry didn't want to talk, he didn't trust himself much. He was ashamed of how he broke down the night before in the company of his parents. But they didn't seem to think he was dumb... but he couldn't take the chance of them ever thinking that.

"Please?" James asked.

Harry took in a hard breath to relax himself. Then he quietly began talking. James bent forward just so he could hear him.

"What?" James asked. Harry looked up into his eyes,

"Th-they s-sufficated me,"

James didn't look surprised but still worried.

"Where were you?" He asked. Harry felt like he was getting interviewed for the newspaper or something.

"I-In the arcade... L-looking for S-Seth," Harry stuttered, trying to get the right words out.

James frowned, looking confused, "I thought you were getting fries, Seth was with me."

"B-but I heard him, he was y-yelling for me to c-come check something out, but it really wasn't him... They t-tricked me," Harry stopped himself from talking anymore because he knew the feeling when his eyes burned.

"Who was 'they' bud?" James asked. Harry shook his head.

"I d-don't know,"

"What happened after they took you?" James asked, daringly to ask more after he got Harry talking.

"I d-don't know. B-but when I woke up... I heard them arguing. One man... he said that it was wrong to take me and that.. I-I am g-going to get it in a f-few months," Harry said but he forced himself to stop as a few tears ran down his face.

"It's not true buddy, look at me," James said. Harry edged his eyes up into his fathers, his eyes blurred and more tears fell.

"No, we won't let it happen. They'll take me first, bud believe me. I promise," James said and brought his hand up to wipe Harry's face.

Harry nodded, even though he didn't believe his dad. How could his father keep that kind of promise? It was impossible.

"The o-one g-guy left. The one who didn't think the other guy should have took me. But he l-left. T-then the o-one p-put a curse on m-me. I-it kept hitting my cheek. I couldn't see Dad! M-my eyes were c-covered... Then he said he wished he could do more to me, but then I wished I was here and I appeared in the backyard... I di-dn't know what to do.." Harry managed to say.

James was speechless. He hated to see Harry like this, all worried and scared. He shouldn't of been. He should be enjoying his teen years while he has them, not worrying about getting murdered, or worse totured.

"It's okay Harry, everything will be fine. Nobody is ever going to lay another hand on you," James said and he hugged him. Harry stayed limp, trying to relax.

"Come on bud, let's get ready to go. You deserve it," James said after a few minutes and they both stood up and walked from the room.

Harry went to sit back down with Seth and play another round of racing before they left and James went upstairs to find Lily.
