Gone Missing: Getting There
By: Love Seth
Man, these chapters are short... I write longer ones now. (To those of you who don't know- I am just going back to these old chapters and editing them. I am on chapter 22 right now for this story. Now I normally write twice as much for each chapter.)
"Do you want to get a caribou first?" James asked, looking over at his son.
They were on their way to the doctors, Harry hadn't said and word and it was making James nervous. Harry used to be so happy... But he guessed he couldn't blame him, what happened in the 3rd task would dramatize anybody, and then this...Harry had it too rough for a kid his age, or anybody that was any age for that matter.
"Sure." Harry whispered and kept staring out the window.
"Cheer up, Harry!" James said. Harry didn't say anything.
When they got to the Caribou parking lot James started to get out,
"Aren't you going to come in?" He asked. Harry shook his head and continued to look out his window.
"Ok..."James said.
When he got back he had a large drink. It was a clear plastic glass and the inside drink was brown and looked like a slushy.
"Thanks," Harry whispered. He took the drink from his dad and began sipping it. James watched him for a minute before starting up the SUV and heading towards the Allina Medical Clinic, Mercy Hospital.
"Okay, let's get in there and get this over with," James said and got out of his side. Harry didn't move but kept sipping his cooler.
"Harry," James said.
Harry looked over at him, his cheek was bandaged but you could still see just how bad it was.
Harry's eyes were red, and he looked like he was trying hard not to cry. James bent his head forward, deciding what to do.
He finally shut his car door and went around to Harry's side. He opened it and took Harry's arm.
"It's ok Harry, it's ok," James said.
Harry bit his lip and looked over at his father.
"Come on bud," James said and tried to pull on Harry, surprisingly Harry got out. James shut the door and James had his arm around his shoulders as they walked up to the hospital doors.
James checked Harry in and then they had to go up to the 4th floor. They waited in silence in a waiting area for, to Harry, seemed like hours.
"Harry Potter," said the nurse at the door at the back of the waiting room.
James stood up first and then Harry followed suite. Harry was trying to hide that he was shaking a little.
"Could you take a seat, I just have to ask you a few questions before the doctor comes in," the nurse in a blue out-fit said.
James answered all the questions, Harry refused to talk. He just sat there stupidly and looked around the cold, white, looking room.
"Okay, Dr. Sexton will be in, in a few minutes, just hop up on the table Harry and take off your shirt," the nurse said before she left.
"I don't know why they want you to take off your shirt, it's your face we're worried about. But you'd better do what they ask," James said and got up and patted the table, smiling fakely.
"No Dad," Harry said and started shaking his leg.
James thought about this for a minute,
"Look at this Harry, isn't this so cool!" James said, he got up on the side of the table and picked up a little hammer from a shelf on the wall next to the bed.
James tapped his knee in just the right spot and his foot shot out.
"Whoa, not you can't tell me you don't like that!" James said.
Harry didn't seem the least bit amused.
"Oh, Harry, you used to love that," James said.
Harry did a weak smile and shrugged his shoulders."Yeah, when I was five,"
"Ok, well may-" James began but a knock on the door stopped him.
