Gone Missing: Tests
By: Love Seth
Dr. Sexton asked a lot of questions while.Harry had to sit up on the table. Dr. Sexton had to take off Harry's bandage. The large bump shocked him.
"It's worse then I thought it was going to be, now you said it was some kind of curse that did this?" He asked.
"Yes, that's right," James answered.
"But do you know what kind of curse it was? There are two different spells that could have been used to do this, we need to know which one it is. Because both of them have serious side effects. But one is worse then the other.
Harry, tell me, have you had any kind of side effects that you know of?"
He looked strait into Harry's eyes as he said this. James tensed up and came and stood next to Harry.
"Um..." Harry said. He didn't know really what he meant by a 'side effect'. Did nightmares count? Cause he always had nightmares... Did being scared a lot count? He didn't think so... Maybe... maybe it was the sharp pains he was getting in his lower stomach. Probably, but they didn't hurt too bad and not too often- he hardly noticed them any more.
"Harry?" James asked, setting his hand on Harry's now bare back.
"Um... What do you mean?" Harry said.
"Like, does it hurt anywhere on your body? Besides your cheek? Do you feel anything mentally? Do you have any problems going to the bathroom?" Dr. Sexton asked.
Harry's head jolted upward, his cheeks flushed with embarrassment, "No." he claimed.
He looked up and into his dad's then his doctor's eyes. They both seemed very kind and caring, but it didn't make Harry any less uncomfortable.
"No pains, anywhere?" Dr. Sexton asked.
Harry shrugged, "Not, really. My stomach a little." he was uncomfortable and wanted to run from the scene.
James tried hard not to get mad, though, if Harry was in pain why didn't he come to him?
"Does it feel like your having pressure pains? Or is it more sharp, jabbing pains?" Dr. Sexton asked, being very strait forward.
"Um... Jabbi-ing," Harry stuttered.
James held his breath in shock.
"Why Harry? Why didn't you say anything?" James asked.
"It's only been a couple days..." Harry whispered.
While this went on Dr. Sexton was getting something out of the cuboard. He brought over a stick. It only looked like a stick. It really wasn't. It was metal and had a large white mouth peice on the end. When Harry saw this he felt goose-bumps rise on him and he didn't do a very good job at hiding he was afraid.
"This is just to check your stomach. You will breathe in and out normally, when you have this around your mouth it will detect anything going down your throat and it will send a... type of gas down your system and into your stomach, the gas then will come back out and out the end here, you see? It won't hurt at all, it will take a few minutes though and you have to lie back," Dr. Sexton said.
Harry looked over at James, who was encouraging him with a fake smile.
"Lie back, Harry," The doctor repeated.
Harry did. He lay back on the table that had a piece of paper over it, it crinkled as he went back and his whole body shivered from being cold.
Sexton put the white end piece into Harry's mouth,
"Bite down now, and just lay still breathing in and out for me Harry," He said and held it above Harry's face.
James gripped his son's shaky hand. They waited for a long time for the gas to come back out, when it did it was a dark, mustard yellow and it evaporated within a few second.
"What does the color mean!" James asked, freaking.
"Just stay calm, Mr. Potter, we can take one more test in here before going to get a stomach examine," Dr. Sexton said, the doctor almost looked relived.
Harry's hand tightened in James's.
"What exactly are you testing for?" James asked.
"Alright, I'm going to be out forward with you, the curse put upon Harry may be of two different circumstances. One: The Encanta Curse or two: the Audiovox Curse.
The Encanta curse isn't too serious, it will give you stomach pain every now and then until the mark on your body goes away. It may give you nightmares, or hallucinations. It will all go away without any kind of treatment. It shows the mustard gas. But the Audiovox Curse doesn't, it shows the clear color we saw a few minutes ago. It gives you not only nightmares, but you start seeing things... you believe things are there when they aren't, and you tend to be worried and scared all the time. Now, that is only the mental part of it. Physically it hurts your stomach, you vomit must of your meals." Dr. Sexton said.
"What? But he's okay?" James asked.
"I'm pretty sure. A few more tests wouldn't be a bad idea,"
"But what the hell does that curse have to do with a mark on his face? Even if he doesn't have the dangerous curse then what's the deal with his cheek?" James asked angrily. Dr. Sexton took a deep breath.
"A lot, because Mr. Potter this isn't any kind of mark, it's way different from any kind of cut or scar. It is purple and bruised as it is because it has a type of poison in it. Not one that can kill Harry, but it will hurt him severely. It could do a lot of damage. The poison in the cheek here, see?" Dr. Sexton asked, holding Harry's face with one hand and using his free hand to point at various spots.
"It seeps through, it'll go into his mouth, and he will swallow it. Which gives the stomach pains, it tries to digest from Harry's body but can't. So it finds a nice spot and sits there. Since it's just the Encanta poisoning it doesn't kill, just gives pain, and besides the curse... it's not very widely known and not many people know how to use it." Dr. Sexton finished.
"Isn't there anything you can do to help with the stomach pains or anything?" James asked.
"I can give him a potion to subside it, but it will go away," and turning to Harry he added, "I promise,"
James didn't look happy at all.
