Chapter 4:

Many years ago. Humanity went through an evolution. The first recorded cases of super powered individuals were reported. Then all across the world, powers became more common. We began calling these strange powers, quirks. Then, like wildfire, they spread through the entire world. Now it's believed that almost 90% of the world's population has some kind of quirk. Almost overnight, the supernatural became the totally normal. However, there remained a few who were born without a quirk, called the quirkless. I would know about them because I used to be one of them.

My name is Izuku Midoriya, and this is how I became the worlds greatest hero. But you already know that story. You know about how I inherited the quirk One for All from my idol, All Might. You know how I went to UA to train to become a hero, and how I became the number one hero in the world. However, in life, you never know what your future may hold so this is not the story of how I became the worlds greatest hero. Instead, this is the story of how a new generation became something greater.

My Hero Academia Next Generation: New Heroes:

Hana POV:

"Remember young Izumi, there will always be a difference between those who reach for the top, and those who settle!" At this point I'd gotten pretty used to hearing Deku's speeches as I trained. So, I just let his words soak in as I pulled and pulled at the last price of junk in this godforsaken warehouse. A wrecked and rusty truck. Apparently, whoever had wrecked it left it in park so the wheels wouldn't roll, instead I was gonna have to pull the truck with just brute force, and it wasn't working.

"Ahhhh, Come on move!" I belted out as I kept pulling on the rope fastened around the truck. The chassis lurched a little and the wheel started to squeak, but I ended up tripping and falling right on my bum. I pounded the ground with my hand, feeling very mad that I couldn't move the vehicle.

"Hey, it's okay! We'll get it next time!" He tried to be supportive as he offered his hand to help pull me up. which I took.

"Yeah, this stupid truck keeps beating me!" I said this as I kicked the rusty bumper and caused a huge dent on the front of the vehicle. In response the truck let out a small groan as the rusty metal settled back into place.

"Well, I think it surrenders!" Deku made another one of his signature jokes, and I let myself smile this time. However, I lost my smile when I realized I still couldn't move that damn truck. Deku saw my dropped smile and decided to say something. "Young Izumi, look at all of the work you've accomplished!"

"I couldn't be prouder of you." The hero said this as he gestured all around him at the warehouse. The entire place was almost completely empty, it was a far cry from the junkyard We'd found. I managed to move out all the junk that had seemed impossible. Even the large pieces, all except that damn truck.

"The exam is tomorrow, so go get some sleep." Deku told me as he didn't know about my "housing" situation. With Yuko living in a dorm at Mrs. Ashido's school. I kinda, didn't have a place to live. You could say I'm homeless now. But I've lived sixteen years like this what was a few more days. Well, if I get in that is.

"Yeah, sleep" I sarcastically said as Deku just gave me a raised eyebrow look, obviously not being in on the joke. However, what he said next surprised me.

"Yeah, about that." He began and I swapped my attention away from the empty warehouse back over to my mentor. "Remember that little apartment, where we first met.?"

He asked and I nodded. Though I didn't really know what he was getting at. A few weeks after we "moved out" when Yuko went to her dorm. The original tenets had come back, and I had never been back around that area.

"Yeah, what about it?" I asked him as I was naturally curious.

"Why don't you just take a walk by, maybe relive some memories." I was smart enough to pick up on what he wanted me to do, so I decided to play along.

"Yeah, you know what. That sounds like a good idea." We both laughed a little and all I could think was "what is this hero up to?"

Later:

Deku and I went our separate ways not long after our conversation. I decided to wonder for a bit around Tokyo, and in doing so I ended up back to a place full of a lot of memories. Shibuya station in downtown Tokyo. My mom never had a lot of money to take me places when I was little, so this was usually where I would spend a lot of my time. I knew all the local dinners, the shoppes, even some of the gangs that would frequent this area.

That's when I remembered my old life, before Deku. It was strange, I'd only known him for a little less than a year, but I felt like a profoundly different person. No more robbing restaurant for food, no more taking care of Yuko. I love her to death, but it felt nice to have all this time to figure out who I am. A question I never really had the ability to ask.

But being back here, and not being the same person made me feel. Strong. Like for the first time in my life, I had really grown up, I had really changed. I was a real person that could make a difference.

"Hey, let go of me!" I heard a shrill voice scream from somewhere down in the subway platform. My head spun over to see an older looking nice woman being touched by a man who clearly was not as nice.

"Ah, c'mon I just want to have a little fun!" The slimy voice that came out of the man's throat could only match his messy outfit and unkempt hair.

"Please, stop!" The woman continued to beg, but the man wouldn't let go of his grip on her as he pushed her further against the platform's walls.

For a second, I was about to just ignore it and go about my day. But right as I got up to leave, I felt my body begin to move of its own accord. I knew what I was doing, and even though it was really stupid, I allowed my body to carry me.

"Hey!" I yelled at the two of them and right as the man turned to face me, I jumped and threw my fist, so it made contact with his cheek. Throwing him to the ground. Then I landed and stood between him and the woman. Holding my hands up ready to fight.

"What the hell is your-" the man got up to face me and seemed like he was about to say something, but his anger dissipated when he saw who hit him.

"Well, if it isn't little Hana Izumi!" He began to laugh, and I was confused about how this vile man knew me, until I saw the necklace he was wearing. It had a small insignia that looked like a wild wolf howling.

"I haven't seen you in a while little girl." He continued to taunt me as he got up. I reached behind as a defensive gesture to the woman. But, when I felt nothing, I quickly realized what had happened. I spun around just to make sure, and sure enough the woman I was trying to protect was gone.

"C'mon Hana you can't be surprised by that move! We used to do it all the time remember!?" I spun back around to see the same woman looking far less nice now hanging off the man's arm.

"Jinn, Asami. What are you two doing here?" I asked them both as I finally remembered both of their faces and names.

"You know, the classic "damsel in distress" show." The woman, Asami informed me as she spoke very dramatically and placed the back of her hand to her forehead and made a fainting motion in her associates hands. "What kind of hero could resist?"

"Though it seems we got a different kind of catch." The man, Jinn spoke sounding somewhat disappointed and curious as he looked me up and down.

"Yeah yeah, is everyone else here?" I asked again while rolling my eyes at the woman's cartoonish actions. Rather than say anything, the man gave out a whistle, and not to my surprise, many men began to appear out of the shadows of the subway platform. Some of them waved to me and I recognized some of them, so I waved back. All of them sharing the same wolf insignia on their necks.

"Look Hana. I'm willing to forget the whole punching thing. For old time sakes." Jinn said as I was a little confused till I looked around to see all his men had created a circle around me. A very clear sign.

"So, why don't you go on your way." He gestured back to where the surface was. "Because we have a show to put on."

As he said this, all the men began to disperse and appeared to go back into their hiding spots. I was about to just follow the stairs he had pointed too back up to the surface, but much like before something stopped me, and I just had to open my stupid mouth.

"Yeah, I don't think your gonna do that." Everyone stopped moving when I spoke up.

"Excuse me?" Jinn spun on his feet to turn around and face me.

"You heard me. So why don't you and your little circle jerk go on your way." I

stood my ground and gestured to the same staircase he had done earlier. I tensed up even more as he began to approach me. I put my hands up worried he might attack, his face clearly showed he was unenthused. However, what he did next surprised me.

"Hahahahahaha!" He burst out laughing as he stared right at me. His face changing from anger to a Cheshire grin in seconds. "You got heart little girl! I'll give you that!"

I was no doubt caught off guard by his sudden outburst.

"You know what! I'll cut you a deal!" I perked up at hearing these words. "We'll all head back home." I liked that idea. "If you just apologize. To me. For the punch."

There is no way to put into words how angry that made me. This stupid wolf gang had always messed with me when I was little. Then I had to swallow my pride and work with them and help them trap heroes. Now they wanted an apology.

Nevertheless, I thought about Deku and specifically what he would do. A hero must be smart, and a hero always finds a way to victory. At least that's what I told myself. But when the young gangster turned his head, so his cheek was pointed at me. He then pointed at the cheek and cockily said, "I'm waiting."

And I just couldn't resist.

I clenched my right fist and swung straight at his presented cheek. I was surprised by the force as it sent him skidding across the ground. My heart began pounding and I rapidly brought my hands back up as I saw all the other men get startled and look like they were about to fight. I spun around multiple times to try and keep my eyes on as many of them as possible, but right when it looked like one of them was about to attack.

"Wait!" Jinn stuck his hand up as he smiled at me evilly while getting up. He then reached up to touch his cheek to feel the clear black bruise I had left. "What are you doing Hana?"

He asked me but I wasn't in the mood for questions. So, instead I just assumed my fighting stance and readied myself. It was clear I could no longer talk my way out of this one. His eyes widened when he saw me get ready to fight.

"STOP FUCKING AROUND AND GO!" Jinn screamed at me as he got back up to his feet, but I never wavered, and stood tall. I wasn't scared of him. He of course saw this and just idly rolled his eyes. "Fine"

The gangster got back up and his time took off this long dusty coat and I saw the trademark tracksuit he wore underneath. While it might have looked ridiculous, I knew what purpose it served. Rather than say anything, he just gave me an evil grin before staring over at his "associate", Asami, who was now on the outside of the circle. Pacing around like the mastermind she was.

Then, Jinn got on to his hands and knees and his body began to transform. First, the shirt he's been wearing began to melt into his skin. His normally tanned skin turned a grey color, and across his body small hairs began to sprout. His fingers and toes shot out into long claws, and his mouth and nose grew into a long grey snout. Finally, his arched back evened out to fit his new

Quadrupled body.

And what stood before me was no longer a man instead he resembled a grey wolf licking its fangs.

Leader of the Howling Wolf Gang: Jinn Kazyua! His Quirk-Wolf Form! By activating his quirk, he can transform his body to become a grey wolf. However, this power can only work at night.

I began to back up as the beast that used to be a gangster began to slowly approach me, I backed up until I pushed my back again some of the other gang members and they lightly laughed and pushed me back into the circle. I lost my balanced and went stumbling straight into the wolf who shoved me off. That's when I knew there was only one way out of here.

We began to circle each other as I kept my hands up my heart pounding. The animal continued to lick his teeth and make What I could only assume was a wolfs version of a cackle. I knew I had every disadvantage, so I just waited and let patience be my only advantage.

Until he stopped and stood still before letting out a great big howl. I knew he was about to act so I just readied myself, remembered my stance, and did a little bit of praying.

Then he dove at me and tried to bite at my ankles. I was able to react fast enough and dodged his first couple of bites before pivoting and kicking the animal straight in the gut. I felt a little sad when I heard the animal let out a small whine, but I shook it off and remembered who I was fighting.

He got back up and appeared to be even more angry and began barking. This time he didn't wait as soon as he got up, he lunged towards me and I tried the best I could to dodge his onslaught, but he eventually got a scratch at my ankle causing me to lose balance and fall on my back. Not skipping a beat, the beast jumped on top of me and went straight for the kill, its jaw snapping right at my face. I was barely able to hold the the animal back as I felt its warm breath and spit coating my face. I eventually just had to turn my head and close my eyes to avoid his fangs. I prepared myself for the inevitable as my arms grew weaker by the second. That was until.

Boom!

I heard a loud explosion go off and there was an intense heat forced on my upper body, but miraculously I felt the weight in my hands disappear. I opened my eyes and looked around a little as I saw the wolf right next to me with a clear scorch mark in its pelt. Then the beast changed back into looking like the man from earlier with a clear angry look on his face.

"CAN PEOPLE PLEASE STOP-" Whatever the gangster was about to say, he instantly shut himself up. The look of anger melted into one of terror as he looked past me. I grew confused, but before I could turn my head to see what scared him.

"GET DOWN!"

My eyes went wide, and I reacted on pure instinct, placing my face against the ground, and covering my head.

Boom!

Boom!

Boom!

I eventually covered my ears with my shoulders because of how loud the explosions were. Then I shut my eyes to block out the bright light. All I could feel was the warmth of the explosions happening around me. I just lay there hoping that whoever or whatever was doing this wouldn't target me next.

After, a few moments of laying down I felt the heat begin to dissipate and the loud booms ceased. Pulling my ash covered head up, I looked around, my eyes brimming with tears as a reaction to the bright light.

However, as I looked around, I saw the circle of gangsters had fallen apart. Instead of them forming a wall blocking me in, they all lay groaning on the floor hands cuffed and clear burn marks all over their bodies.

I looked back over to where Jinn had been, and I saw the man clearly beaten and unconscious. He groaned as another man much taller snapped a small set of cuffs on his wrist.

Wearing a tan turtleneck jacket and having spiky blonde hair, the man looked hardly like the hero who could have saved me. Rather than having some elaborate costume and mask he just had regular clothes on. It felt oddly satisfying to see a regular person act as a hero. That was until we met eyes.

"HEY! YOU!" He yelled and pointed at me, my smile faded and my entire being was filled with dread. I began to crawl away realizing he was very much so talking to me.

"What did you think you were doing little girl!" The strange man yelled down at me as I stopped crawling and just stared up at his angry face. But then I grew confused as to what he meant.

"What? These people were-" However, before I could finish me explanation, he cut me off.

"I don't care if they were butt fucking each other! You are not a hero!" He yelled at me again and I grew very discouraged from his word choice. But I did still feel angry at him.

"Hey, you listen! I'm gonna be a hero and I'm-" I should have expected it but it still surprised me when he interrupted me again.

"NO, YOU LISTEN!" The blonde man yelled back his eyes flaring with rage causing me to retreat. However, when he saw me growing more discouraged his face softened and he seemed to realize he was taking this too far.

"Fuck." He whispered to himself likely hoping I wouldn't hear it. "Look, there's a reason I have this."

As he explained, the man pulled a small card out of his pocket and showed it to me. I couldn't read any information present on the card, but I could make out a small picture of him when he was much younger, giving the smile an evil smirk. As I saw the gold UA logo at the top, I knew why he was showing me this.

"This, means I'm allowed to do, this." The hero awkwardly gestured around him to all the unconscious gangsters. I got what he was saying though.

"There's a reason all heroes need licenses. Indiscriminate use of quirks can lead to chaos." He explained to to me which felt very unusual to hear such a profound explanation coming from the same man who had been yelling curses at me just moments ago. "It's the best way to protect not just others, but yourself too."

I understood what he meant. I'd just gotten way over my head picking a fight where I was clearly outnumbered and outmatched. I mean what would have happened if this hero hadn't just been walking by. But then I thought about what he said about quirks, and I had one last thing to say.

"What if I don't have a quirk?" I asked and he finally looked down and we met eyes. His crimson irises looking much less threatening now.

"Well then I'd say you're even crazier than I thought." He laughed lightly but I didn't feel insulted by it. That's when he reached down to his hand and fiddled with a small diamond ring on his right hand. "But hey, I've seen stranger things."

I perked up a little, his words sounding like they were bordering on encouragement. I nodded at him knowingly and he smiled down at me.

"Look, I'm sorry for snapping at you." The heroes apologetic tone came off very odd for someone who seemed to carry no small amount of rage and anger. So, I just lightly shook my head to show it was all good.

As I was about to head out, being worried that I might get pounced by another grey wolf. The hero had one last thing to say.

"So, what's you're name?"

"… Beyoncé."

"Ha, where you from Beyoncé?"

"Around the block."

We both laughed a little, I'd gotten so use to not trusting others that I would never give my real name especially to some one such as this stranger.

"Well, Beyoncé from around the block… I'll see you at UA." I laughed at the first part of his little speech, but then allowed my mouth to slip into a smirk at hearing his last words.

That's when a couple police officers began pouring into the subway platform, all of them nodding over to the blonde hero. I imagined he'd called them while we'd been talking, since they proceeded to round up the unconscious gangsters.

I realized this would be a very good opportunity and decided to make my getaway as I headed straight for the stairs back up to the street. However, before I left, I realized there was one last thing I needed to ask.

"Hey!" As I yelled out to the officers, they all turned their heads but I made sure to point to the hero so he knew I was speaking to him.

"What's you're name?" I asked him this time and he laughed a little probably not wanting to answer. He then placed his face directly in the palm of his right hand showing a clear sign of annoyance.

"Ahh, well everyone just calls me Ground Zero…" my eyes went wide when I heard his hero name and immediately began to connect the dots. "But you can just call me Kataski Bakugou."

Shiho POV:

"Okay!" I yelled psyching myself up for the impending experiment.

"This is one gram of plastique, with one drop of detonate solution!" I announced once again to the camera. Being once more set up in the Danger Room to run my latest version of the detonate solution. I had tried to stop the volatile nature of the last batch trying to create an explosion that was more like a firecracker with just one drop.

"Let's hope this doesn't kill me." I sarcastically said as I backed away from the explosive and pulled out my blast shields to help protect me from the explosives. Flipping down my welder's mask and holding the detonators shakily in my hands I looked back over to the camera on my desk.

"In three, two one!" I announced as I braced myself, fearing the worst and pulling the trigger on the detonator.

Pew!

I opened my eyes a little hesitant as my heart rate skyrocketed. However, looking out at the room I hastily threw up my mask and ran out from behind the blast shields.

There out on the field was a small black scorch mark with a little smoke coming off the spot. I immediately started flipping out with excitement as I just wordlessly flayed around looking like an idiot. I just gestured to the spot and looked over to the camera, smiling brightly at a mission accomplished.

After getting through my wordless excitement, I was able to compose myself and run back over to the camera.

"Prototype seventeen of detonate solution is a success!" I told the lens before reaching up to press the off button, ending the video.

After I had calmed down, immediately I lost myself again in my excitement. Crazily flaying around and acting like a goofball. With the entrance exam happening tomorrow I needed to make sure this batch worked, and it most certainly had.

"That seemed to go well." I heard a familiar voice right behind me as I spun on my heels to see the smiling pink-haired grease cover face of Mei Hatsume.

"You saw all that." I acted a little embarrassed when I realized my aunt had seen me acting so ridiculously in my celebration frenzy.

"Oh, trust me, I've acted crazier when working on my babies!" She naturally understood. I always remembered her acting so crazy when it came to her inventions even when I was a little kid. However, as she'd grown up, she'd gotten much more mellow in terms of her attitude towards her "babies".

"Well, sorry I couldn't be honest with you." I awkwardly stated as I'd never really talked to her about the, y'know, bombs.

"Ohh, that's fine I've known you've been doing it for months now." My eyes went wide when she said this, her yellow reticle eyes petted down on me with her unmistakable devilish smirk she still wore so well.

"Really! Well, I mean I just did really want Mom or Dad to find out" I explained to her and she seemed to understand. She really did love creative freedom. "I just think they'd be worried."

"No need to worry! After the clinic you put out tomorrow, how could they!" The inventor spoke with such passion and I couldn't help but feel rejuvenated as I took of the rest off my protective gear and got packed up for the night.

"Thanks. I couldn't have come this far without you." I made sure to give my aunt a gentle hug, feeling closer to her now than ever.

"Yeah, speaking of which." As she broke off, I began to be a little worried that maybe she'd have some bad news based on her tone of voice. However, she kept her famous dorky smile and reached around into her backpack full of babies.

"I got this for you!" Mei handed me a small metal disc that barley fit into the palm of my hand. I was a little confused about what this was supposed to be.

"What is it? A frisbee?" I asked her as I flipped it around between my fingers to look at it from all sides. But Mei reacted rather violently to that treatment.

"WOAH! AHH! Don't touch it like that!" She yelled at me and I quickly stop with the disc as her hands shot out to catch mine and stop my actions.

"Oh, hey! Sorry." I frantically stopped fiddling with the device. "But what is it?"

"Well, this here is one of my first babies I've been working on for years now!" The inventor spoke with such excitement, like she'd cracked the secret to cold fusion. "I was finally able to make it work by combining compact fuel cells and using the collapsing micro hydraulics I use on my leg boots to."

"MEI." I interrupted her speech, understanding she would likely go on forever talking about her "babies".

"Right! It's a compact high powered, Jetpack!" The smile on her face only grew as she told me what it was, and I was just confused about how something so small could be a jetpack.

"A Jetpack?" I asked still looking at the disc.

"Yeah, watch this!" She explained as she grabbed the device from my hands and slapped it on her back, two straps shorting out and connecting around her shoulders. Then the disc began to spin until two miniature coils expanded to make two rockets on her back.

"And all you need to control it is this!" She pulled a small stick from her pocket and I saw a red button right on the top that I instinctively went to push.

"Hey! Don't touch that!" She screamed again scaring me away from the joystick. "Sorry, it's just that activates the jets, and the fuel cells are so small that there's only enough for one launch."

"You really need to start labeling these." I joked as she lightly giggled and pressed a button on one of the straps, compressing it back into a disc and handing it back to me.

"Just remember to use it wisely." She ended her gift exchange with a hint of somberness dripping from her lips. So, I just lightly nodded to let her know I got it, but I kept quiet about what I thought though which was, "this would not work with the plan".

Because of course i had a plan. But I just held her gift in my hands and told her "thank you."

"Good! So, you go out there tomorrow and knock em dead!" She pats me on the back for her last resounding cheer and she began to leave.

"Yeah, it is getting late and I should go to bed too." I explained to her as I looked back over at my desk with the remaining detonate solution in three separate vials. "Have a good rest."

"Rest! Hahaha!" I heard Mei begin to laugh and was a little confused why she found that so humorous.

"Oh, I have too many perfect babies to work on to worry about sleep!" I laughed this time, she never stopped working.

"Just remember to turn off the lights when you're done." She said her last goodbye and left the danger room to me. That's when I looked back over to my desk and saw the vials of detonate solution. There was only three left and for som reason, I felt like that wasn't going to be enough.

"What the hell." I said to myself as I walked back over to the desk and began to prepare to make more. After all, who needs rest.

Hana POV:

I can't believe it. I met Ground Zero.

Okay, so while Yuko had always had the obsession with superheroes. I had always loved Ground Zero. Or Mr. Bakugou as he wants me to call him! I just couldn't stop shaking in excitement as I walked away from the bright lights of the Shibuya station. I mean he actually shook my hand and smiled at me.

"Oh, great now I sound like Yuko" I said to myself as my peppy external melted away and was replaced by a disappointed look, as I also glanced around to make sure no one had seen my embarrassing levels of excitement. Luckily, I was all alone. That also made me realize how late it was and I was still pretty tired from that whole "almost getting my face ripped off by a wolf", thing.

I saw a nearby alley with a stained mattress laying on the ground. So, I just shrugged my shoulders and walked over to the piece of furniture. However, right as I was about to lay down, I remember what Deku had told me.

"Remember that little apartment, where we first met?"

"Why don't you just take a walk by, maybe relive some memories."

I turned back around from where the bed was and decided to instead, make my way to another part of Tokyo, a more familiar part of Tokyo.

Moments Later:

I could track fast, so it took me a little under an hour to make it back to the old street Yuko and I used to live on. Well, live is a loose word. Still, it was the only place I could ever really call home. Well, unless we can cal home a raven-haired little girl, then I always had a home and boy do I miss home. Still, I looked for that old building.

After a few minutes of looking, I found the place and entered the lobby. The place was no five-star hotel, so it was a little run down. It always had been. But looking around, the entire place seemed a little more put together, like maybe it was being cleaned.

I just shrugged it off and went back up to the floor I had previously been "staying" at. As I knocked on the door, not knowing what else to do, I was surprised the door just slid open.

"Hello." I asked out into the dark room and reached for the light switch I remember being on the wall. Flipping the switch, I was greeted with something I didn't expect to see. The entire apartment was completely renovated.

The last I'd seen; the place had been under construction and was a far cry from the pristine looking place before me. Furniture, hard wood floors and "all the comforts of home" were present. The entire place looked like it was being set up for an open house. It looked so good that I felt out of place in my dirty leather jacket and unwashed hair, and because of that I made a break for the door.

I figured there was no way this place could look this nice, and not have residents so I should get out before they see me. However right as I was about to leave, I saw a small letter on the empty living room table, it had some writing on the front that unmistakably read, "Hana."

That's when I grew curious, there could very easily be another Hana in this house, but I felt that couldn't a coincidence. Picking the paper up and ripping open the crease on the back, i unfurled the note inside.

Dear, Hana Izumi.

It is noble of you to try and hide your pain from me. I understand you have never been the trusting type. I imagine some mix of that, and your prideful nature is why you felt the need to never confide in me about your home life. My only regret is that I couldn't have stepped in sooner. However, I admire your tenacity to continue to work in spite of your own troubles and issues. You may not think it to mean much, but the courage you have displayed in the few months I have known you, has shown me you are not just my successor you are a true hero. So, as I reward for your steadfast loyalty, your never-ending determination, and your willfulness to always keep smiling. I give you a home.

That's when I felt something heavy fall out of the envelope and saw a small silver key, and my heart stopped as I realized what was happening.

Sincerely, Deku.

I was left speechless. Not only could I not say anything, but I felt my legs turn to jelly as I just crumbled to the floor. I was so overwhelmed by emotions that I didn't even think about the many questions that were swarming my mind.

How long has he known? What does this mean for the future? How had he done this?

Instead, all I could think was, thank you.

"Damnit!" I heard a curse from somewhere else in the house. Getting up I walked past the living room and around a corner to see the kitchen.

There was a girl standing in the middle of the kitchen and I couldn't recognize her, but she did have short curly black hair and was barely tall enough to reach the stove she was working at.

"Uh, Hello?" I asked cautiously being worried for who this girl could be. The girl spun around and stuck up her hands in a fighting stance. Before promptly dropping her guard and placing her hand over her heart.

"Oh, Hana. You scared me." She spoke as if I should know her and as she began to laugh, I got a good look at her face.

"Yuko?" I asked her her entire face coming together and I realized this girl was in fact my sister. I haven't seen her since she went to live in her dorm at Mrs. Ashido's school. The past months had gone by in such a blur that I'd never realized how long it'd been since I'd seen my little sister, and she looked so different.

"The one and only." She gave me a cheeky little smile as walked over to hug he, still a little awestruck by her new appearance.

"You're so… Big!" I awkwardly said as we broke off from the hug. "And you cut your hair!".

"Well, Aki thought it looked better like this." Yuko spoke with such a cheerful tone that I didn't feel the need to ask about who this Aki was. "Oh crap, Aki is this girl I met in class and she's really nice and has this awesome quirk!"

I just kept smiling at hearing my sister ramble on with a bright smile on her face. I almost cried seeing her so happy, but I was able to stop myself. While she just continued to go on and on about all her new friends and such.

"Oh, I'm sorry I'm going on and on about my life what about you?" She asked me and I was so caught up in the moment it took me a second to process her question.

"Well… um." I didn't exactly know what to say. I mean Deku made it very clear that I couldn't talk about One for All with anyone.

"Well, I've just been training with good ole Deku!" I decided to just dodge the topic as best as possible. Luckily, she didn't pick up on what I was doing.

"I know what you mean." I raised an eyebrow at this. "Mrs. Ashido has been training me pretty hard."

I was about to ask her what she meant but then I heard the oven on the other side of the kitchen ding. I'd been so caught up in the moment I didn't even realize what my sister had been doing and looking over to what she had been working on. It seemed like she was cooking something.

"Oh, I got that!" Yuko practically shouted and I was about to tell her to stop. If she needed something to eat, I could make it for her. However, before I could open my mouth. My sister reaches her arm over and it transforms into a long slimy tentacle.

I step back in shock, but my sister doesn't react and instead just grabs the handle of the oven and opens it lightly.

"Ahh, not done yet." She said very casual, like she hadn't just manifested a tentacle out of her arm. Then, as fast it had happened, the tentacle coiled back and shrunk to look like and normal human extremity. I was so started I didn't even say anything at first.

"Well, as I was saying." She would have continued but she spun around to face me which is when she saw my shocked face. She looked a little confused for a moment than had an "Ohh" moment.

"Ohh, that's right you haven't even seen what I can do." Yuko sounded unusually chipper for someone who just grew a tentacle out of her arm.

"What can you do? You mean that whole…" I was so overwhelmed I couldn't even put into word what she had just for, so I just manically gestured to the oven.

"Yeah!" She said excitedly as I looked down at her hands to see the place skin turn orange. Then the fingers folded together until they formed two large pincers and her wrist swelled out.

As simple as snapping, Yuko had tunes both her hands into crab pincers. She didn't even bat an eye either. No pain filled grunt or any sign of discomfort, she just kept smiling.

"That's amazing." Was all I could say to her newfound abilities.

Little Sister of Hana Izumi: Yuko Izumi! Her quirk- Adaptation! She can change parts of her body into various animal limbs and extremities.

"Ahh," Yuko let out a groan and I heard her stomach growl as her hands turned back to normal. "That's the bad part."

However, adapting consumes a lot of energy, and requires her to eat very frequently.

"So, yeah! I just need to eat so much that I started to learn how to cook." She finished explaining all the various parts of her quirk and I couldn't help but feel happy for her. Less than a year ago she had just been a bed ridden little girl. Now… now she seemed to be grown up.

"I was actually gonna bake you a cake!" My eyes perked up as she said this.

"Wait, you knew I was gonna be here?" I asked and then I remembered there was another question I'd forgotten to ask her. "What are you even doing here? I thought you had your own dorms?"

"Well yeah! But Mrs. Ashido said I could go back home for the weekend!" She explained and I understood what she meant by "home".

"Said I should see you before the big day tomorrow!" I would have been surprised by my sister knowing this, but I'd been shocked so many times tonight it didn't even bother me.

"Are you excited?!" She ask/told me, and I just lightly smiled at her and nodded my head. "Who knew you had a secret quirk all this time!"

I let out a sigh when she said that as I remembered what Deku had said. I would "inherit" his quirk. That was very vague, so I had next to no clue what was gonna happen tomorrow but was excited for it. Excited and nervous.

"Mrs. Ashido says you've been working really hard for this!" No doubt Deku was the one who told her that and through the transitive property of equality, it would make it back to Yuko.

"Yeah, lets hope it's enough." I spoke sounding slightly solemn. I knew I'd been working hard, but for some reason I felt like I wasn't ready.

That's when I realized I had one more thing to do.

I dashed back to the living room and plucked my jacket off a coat rack. Smiling that I now had a coat rack.

"Are you okay?" Yuko followed me out of the kitchen no doubt worried about why I had acted so quickly.

"Yeah. Yeah. I just need to go do something." I told her trying to sound vague. I'd learned to air on the side of caution when it came to all thing's hero. However, when she looked down sadly, I realized she'd probably wanted to spend the night with me.

"Will you be okay here?" I asked her not really knowing what else to say.

"Yeah, I mean. I've been okay for months now." There was a hint of condescension in her tone and I knew I need to cheer her up.

"Hey, come here!" I told her as I reached over and wrapped my arms around her. It took her a second, but she eventually embraced me to and I could tell she began to smile. We stayed like that for a few moments before I finally found something to say.

"You know what they say." I told her as I separated from her. She just looked at me quizzically to show she didn't know.

"A hero never stops training!" I affirmed her as I gave her a thumbs up and a bright smile. She smiled back and seemed to understand.

"Then what are you doing hanging around here?" She asked me as she reached over and punched my shoulder. I saw surprised by the force but didn't show it. She really had gotten stronger.

Leaving the house. My house. I made my way back over to the only place I could go, the warehouse.

I had to finish my job. Because a hero never stops training.

A/N: This was a long one and I was gonna make it longer. I had a lot of thing I wanted to put into this one and I guess I couldn't really fit it all in. Also, I just realized I should have moved that Hana fighting in the beginning to the first chapter. It would have explained Deku's choice. As always review.
