Gone Missing: Not Caving In

By: LoveSeth

Hey! Thanks for the reviews. Since you reviewed I will keep my promise and get delayed of sleep to stay up late and work on another chapter. Just so I have something post for you. Wolf Creek was scary, but Hostel beats it by far. Hostel is the sickest thing! And the weird thing is, is that it's a lot of people who live in a town. The whole town is okay with buying foreigners just to torture them before brutalling killing them for their own sick pleasures. It's kinda like Wolf Creek because it is based on true stories and the people who do it are complete and urder psychopaths.

And for the whole 'honey' thing. It's been dropped- it's been a year now. But I will be sure to keep your opinion in mind. But truely- in certain situations it is okay for a father to call his son anything he wants. But I will be sure to keep the whole thing in mind when I write.

Please Read and Review! Thanks!

"He's not going to tell you without a fight," Sirius said, leaning against the counter top and taking a sip off his goblet.

James, who was standing at the other end of the kitchen against the opposite counter, gave Sirius a stare that clearly stated that what he just said was obvious.

"We figured that out already, Sirius. When he started exploding things," Lily said. She too was in the kitchen, but she was seated at the table as the three of them brain stormed on what to do before Harry woke up.

"Maybe he's telling the truth. Maybe there isn't a real reason to why he isn't speaking to Seth..." Sirius suggested.

"Sirius, do you honestly think that is the case? You know Harry as well as we do. My gut feeling is that something is wrong," Lily said.

Rubbing his face to try to get the sleepiness out James sighed, "I'm going down to his room to think. Maybe you two can come up with an idea before I can." and with that he headed for the stairs.

"Well?" Lily asked Sirius, referring to her last question.

"No. I think you are right. But really. Do you think keeping him from Hogwarts would make him better? I think he needs to spend time with his friends. Get some of his innocence back before it's too late,"

"It's not ever going to be too late because nothing is going to happen to Harry again!" Lily said, now standing and going closer to Sirius.

"Lily. Voldemort is on the rise. You know as much as I do that Harry is in danger!" Sirius said.

"NO! He may be in danger but as long as we keep him protected he will be just fine! Fine long enough for us to figure everything out," Lily shrieked.

"I'm sorry. I love Harry as much as you do but that is why I think you should let him go back with his friends and let him work out whatever this problem with Seth is on his own, unless he comes to you. He needs to be able to be a normal teenager whenever he has the chance and he has that chance right now," Sirius said.

"What if Harry's having some kind of problem and it doesn't just involve Seth but Voldemort as well? No matter what a fifteen year old can't deal with the kind of power Voldemort has on his own! We need to know for Harry's own good, maybe Seth's too," Lily said.

"How can you be sure?" Sirius asked. " How can you be sure Voldemort may have something to do with this?"

"That's just the point, Sirius! We DON'T know! Therefore we have to find out!" Lily shouted, and with that she turned and left towards the living room.

Down in Harry's room James stood watching Harry slumber in the light from the moon outside. Not knowing what he could do to help Harry. In order for it to happen Harry had to come to him.

James stood there for about ten minutes, reviewing everything in his head about what had been going on in his house between his two sons. He couldn't recall a single bad thing. Just as he was about to turn and leave a small noise was made by Harry.

James tiptoed closer. Harry's hand twitched, as did his right leg. He was mumbling something James couldn't make out as words.

"Harry?" James whispered, reaching out his hand to touch Harry. Just as he was about to though Harry bolted up in bed. Panting and covered in a cold sweat. Apparently he didn't realize James was in the room.

"Oh, god. Seth..." Harry muttered between breaths. Harry was clutching his chest as he relaxed himself. James didn't move a muscle. Harry wasn't wearing his glasses and the room was dark enough for James to just be thought a shadow as long as he didn't move.

"Ugh." Harry sighed, rubbing his face before lying back down. Tucking himself deep under his covers and pulling the blanket up to his chin. James doubted Harry had even fully woken up.

Waiting a few moments in order to be sure Harry had gone back to sleep, James got up and left the room. Leaving the door open a crack just to be sure Harry could be heard from up the stairs.

"Hey, guys. I think I might have a clue to as what's going on," James said when he reached the top of the stairs. Sirius was still standing in the kitchen but Lily was seen over on the rocking chair.

"What? Did Harry tell you? Did you find something?" Lily asked frantically.

"Well, no not really. But I think he's been dreaming something. Something to do with Seth. He woke up, all upset and he said Seth's name," James said.

"Didn't he notice you there?" Sirius asked.

"No, he didn't really wake up fully-I don't think. He laid right back down after he seemed to calm down a bit. I know he's having nightmares," James said, laying on the couch, " Now I just need to know what they're about..."

The next morning Harry took a long shower. The longest he had ever taken. Lily thought he may have drowned.

"Go talk to him." Lily said.

"What am I supposed to say?" James whispered, since Sirius was passed out on the couch.

"Ask him about his dreams,"

"That approach really doesn't work very well, as we know already," James said. The clock dinged eight times as the shower finally shut off.

"Well, he didn't drown," Lily said, pushing back her hair from her face. It was messy from her restless night talking things over with James and Sirius.

"I'll go give it a last shot. Otherwise we agree to keep him here, right?" James asked.

"Yes. We aren't going to cave in, are we James?" Lily asked, thinking about how much she was hurting her son even more. She didn't want to, neither did James, but as a parent you have to make those kind of choices. If Harry's at Hogwarts they wouldn't be able to keep a better track of him.

"No, we're not." James said in a short tone as he jogged from the room and down to Harry's.

He knocked on Harry's door. Hoping to get a good response.

"What? I'm getting dressed," Harry said from the other side.

"Can't I come in?" James asked.

"No. I said I was getting dressed," Harry said. By the sound of his voice James knew it wasn't going to be a pleasant chat unless he told Harry he could go to Hogwarts without having to tell them about the dreams.

"When you're done come out to the family room. I need to talk to you," James said.

He heard Harry mutter the word 'fine' before he went to sit down on the fairly large and stuffed couch. He only had to wait a few minutes before Harry's door opened and Harry slipped out. Looking mad and aimed to start a fight.

James patted the spot next to him on the couch. To his great surprise Harry came and sat down without a word. Refusing to look the way of his father, though.

"Look at me, Harry," James said.

Harry didn't move his head but James saw his eyes move to the floor.

"Harry. Look at me," James repeated in a sterner voice.

"Why?" Harry asked, you could tell he was uncomfortable with the whole situation because he knew the talk with James would lead nowhere but more fights. Maybe he would make something else explode.

"Because I want to see your eyes see mine," James said.

Harry thought about it for a moment but knew he was in no condition to look at James. He had mentally built up a brick wall of protection. Protection of getting upset in front of anyone. Harry didn't want to look at James because he knew those bricks were slowly getting knocked over.

"Harry I know about the nightmares. I mean, I know you are having them but I would like to know what it is you are actually dreaming about. It would mean a great deal to Sirius, your mother and me if you told," James said in a voice that meant to comfort Harry and be stern with him at the same time.

Not even bothering to ask how James knew, Harry merely shook his head and got up from the couch. James grabbed the back of his shirt and pulled him back down.

"Wait a minute, I'm not finished. Harry, it's not like I want to invade your privacy like this, but you know I have to find out what's going on when it has anything bad to do with you or your brother,"

"What's he have to do with this?" Harry asked, his teeth clenched and his face tight, along with his body.

"I think he has a lot to do with this. You said his name when you were woke up from the nightmare, you said it and you seemed like something was majorly wrong. I just want to help you,"

"Well, I don't need your help."
