Gone Missing: You Promised
By: Love Seth
Well, I'm a tad disappointed that only one or two people cared about me enough to feel bad enough to at least say they were sorry to me after I lost another person in my life. But I did like the reviews a lot so, I wrote another chapter and I hope you like it.
Note that it isn't the crying James chapter I said I would do. Since I am pretty sure you wanted it to be a bit more dramatic. Which is perfectly okay and I assure you it will take place before the story ends.
P.S. I read through this chapter cause I am pretty sure I forgot to Italic some words, but I couldn't find them. So, if you notice something a bit odd I apologize, it might be it should be in Italic writing.
In lovingmemory of Zachary T. Smith, age 17. Died February 1st, 2006 on his way to school at 7 in the morning.
HappyBirthday, Seth! You'll always be remembered.
February 3rd, 1989- October 10th, 2003.
The grandfather clock dinged twelve times. It was midnight and it was so quiet in the Potter house you wouldn't of thought anybody was home. Sirius had left a couple hours before. After giving up on hope that Harry was going to wake up with him still there.
"Why don't you just owl me or something when he wakes up. Tell me how it goes," Sirius had said to James. James had promised he was going to talk to Harry when he woke even if Harry was very unwilling.
"Hmm..." Harry groaned, rubbing his face as he turned on his back. His body was warm and his eyes were still heavier then normal. He had been asleep for so long Harry had no desire to move from his comfortable position wrapped in his fleece blankets.
Harry laid there for over a half an hour. Waking up a bit and just thinking. Mostly if he was going to pass back out or not, and what day it was and what time it was.
Taking a deep breath Harry opened his eyes fully and reached over for his glasses. Once they were on he saw the clock and realized it was the middle of the night. Thankful, for he didn't think his parents would be awake at his hour to question him.
"That felt so good." Harry thought, stretching and sitting up.
His bare feet touched the cold floor and he flipped on the table lap next to his bed.
"AW!" Harry started screaming off the top of his lungs. There on the floor was Seth, his face completely covered in blood.
Harry froze were he was, continuing to yell.
"SETH! NO! NO! DON'T DIE!" out of nowhere Harry flashed out of bed and nearly jumped on Seth, shaking him with all his might.
"NO!" Harry sobbed, checking Seth's pulse to feel nothing there.
"HARRY! WAKE UP! HARRY!" someone shouted.
Harry's eyes opened and light flooded into them, blinding him, he held up his hand. He was on his bedroom floor and Lily was next to him, her arms wrapped around his shoulders.
Harry's head whipped around as he looked for Seth, but didn't see a trace of him. He looked at the clock behind his blurry vision and saw it was exactly 12:30 AM. The same time it had been in the nightmare.
"Harry! Harry!" James came running into the room looking out of breath and clutching his side as he kneeled down in front of Harry.
Harry looked at him with clenched teeth and anger in his eyes.
"YOU PROMISED! YOU SWORE! I HATE YOU!" Harry yelled, his arms lunging forward as he pushed back his father.
James looked taken aback, but quickly recovered, looking like he had no idea how it could have happened.
"GET OFF OF ME!" Harry shouted, shoving Lily off and stumbling out of the room. James was hot on his tail, grabbing onto him from behind. Harry was so upset he fell to the floor, before he could manage to get up James had grabbed onto him good and was forcing him to sit on the downstairs couch in the family room. Harry wouldn't sit though, he stood in front of James as he looked at James he saw Sirius behind him, watching Harry but at the same time blocking Seth's door so Seth couldn't get out. Apparently Seth was up and wanted to know what was going on, you could hear him yelling for Sirius to open the door.
"YOU PROMISED! YOU BROKE YOUR WORD! HOW CAN I EVER TRUST YOU?" Harry shouted out of nowhere. He brought his fist up, hitting James so hard in the face his nose started to bleed.
"HARRY!" Lily shouted, but Harry was far past even the stage of ignoring her.
James held up his hand to Lily, his other hand to his nose. He pulled his hand back and saw the blood and then looked up at Harry just as Harry was going to hit James again Sirius's wand was out.
"NAGROM!" Sirius shouted, making Harry's arms get stuck to his sides like he had been wrapped in ropes.
"STOP IT LET ME GO! LET ME GO!" Harry was yelling off the tops of his lungs. Sounding as if at any moment he was going to explode.
Sirius continued the spell, making Harry stay seated on the couch.
"Just calm down and I'll let you go!" Sirius shouted, sympathy in his voice, yet it was strong.
"WHY SHOULD I! HE TOLD ME I DIDN'T HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT DREAMING. HE SAID IT! BUT WHAT DID I DO! HE'S A LIAR!" Harry shouted as if James wasn't even in the room, but he was talking to Sirius like a girl in Junior High talks down on a girl she was friends with just the day before.
James sat down on the coffee table in front of Harry. Harry didn't look at him, but struggled like mad against the spell. His face turning red as he used every bit of energy he had gained from sleeping. James watched Harry's clenched jaw, ready to shout at anybody who stepped in his way of getting away from the situation, because that was what Harry liked to do. When things got too upsetting for him he would run away to be alone, never facing what he needed to face in order to get better.
Lily had walked over and was standing behind the couch, her eyes making two steady rivers down her face. They all watched Harry until Sirius went into Seth's room, shutting the door behind him.
"NO! SIRIUS! TAKE IT OFF! PLEASE! PLEASE LET ME GO!" Harry pleaded, but Sirius ignored him.
Lily exchanged glances with James, nudging her head towards Harry, before she, too, went over and into Seth's room. Like there was a little party in there and she didn't want to miss it.
James had his mouth covered with his elbow on his knee as he was watching Harry. Gradually Harry started calmly down. His chest rising and falling abruptly, his face blotched red and wet. His eyes began slowly moving over to James.
"Please, just let me go," Harry began begging James, his anger slowly slipping away from him as it turned into a panicking sadness he had no control over.
James looked at him a second before shaking his head, "You'll run away and this may be my last chance to talk to you about this,"
Harry looked shocked, his mouth swung open as he continued looking like an idiot who forgot he had the water running, "Why, it's going to come true?" Harry bit his lip and looked at James in such a pathetic way James had to cover his own face so Harry wouldn't see him get upset.
"No! No,- it's not going to come true," James said.
"You told me I wouldn't dream! Why'd you lie to me? WHY?" Harry said, his voice angry again. He suddenly became bipolar. Going from angry to sad.
"I dunno, Harry. I truly don't. It could be as simple that you had been asleep for too long and the potion wore off. I'm not sure, yet," James said, looking back up at Harry after taking a deep breath and doing a pretty good job at keeping it together.
"It's going to come true. It's going to come true and it'll be all my fault. All-my-... f-fault," Harry managed to say, his lip began to shake, making him bite it again.
"He's gunna d-die," Harry sobbed, breaking down.
James sat next to him and hugged him tightly.
"It's just a nightmare," James said, "It may seem like more, but it's just a nightmare. He's fine and he's going to be fine," James added, referring to Seth.
Harry shook his head, James held it still against his shoulder, "Yes, Harry," James said.
Harry's breaths came out in racks, he could hardly control himself.
"I'm sorry. I'm so sorry," James whispered in his ear, as he held Harry's head in one hand and his other arm was around Harry's back.
Even if Harry wanted to, he was in no position to hug James back.
They sat there like that for a long time. Before long all that was heard was Harry's attempts at keeping his nose from running. He hadn't said another word to James and James was beginning to wonder if Harry was falling back to sleep. James couldn't see Harry's face, and if Harry wasn't asleep he didn't want to make Harry think to let go of him before he was ready to push away on his own.
"James?" came a whisper. James looked up to see Lily coming towards them. She could see Harry's face and put her finger up to her mouth, "His eyes are closed," she stated.
Sirius stuck his head out Seth's door, making sure it was clear before coming out.
"Sirius, could you-?" James asked, referring to Harry's arms.
"Oh," Sirius said, pulling out his wand and with a wave Harry's arms went limp and his whole body sunk lower in the slumber he was in.
"He can't sleep without more of that potion," Lily said frantically, rushing from the scene to go get the bottle.
"What's Seth doing?" James whispered.
"He's in there," Sirius said, motioning towards Seth's room.
"Thinking, he's not coming out here till you lay Harry down," Sirius added.
James wanted to ask how he had managed that but Lily interrupted as she came back with a spoon in one hand and the potion bottle in the other.
She knelt down to be level with Harry and poured out a spoon of the liquid.
"Harry, you have to take this. Come on, honey," Lily was saying, rubbing Harry's forehead and the side of his face. She had the spoon right up to Harry's mouth, who kept his lips closed tightly in his sleep, after a moment of trying again Lily succeeded. Getting him to take it, make a face but continue to sleep as if not disturbed.
"We need to talk," James said to Lily and Sirius, "I just need to get him to his bed. Can you help me Sirius?"
