Ash, Misty and Brock arrived in a town full of skyscrapers.

"Brock where are we?" Misty asked.

Brock looked at the map.

"It says that we are in Hop Hop Hop Town." He said.

"That's a funny town name." Ash commented. Then he suddenly stopped in his tracks and his eyes changed.

"Is something wrong Ash?" Brock asked.

"I feel something weird in the air." He explained. "I have no idea what, but there's something wrong about this town."

"Arnold!" A woman shouted.

They went to see what was wrong.

"My son Arnold has been missing for the last three days." She explained to the gang.

"And he's not the only one." The woman added. She then pointed towards a wall that displayed pictures of other missing kids.

'So that's what's weird about this town.' Ash thought.

He then turned to the woman.

"Don't worry ma'am." He told her. "We'll get to the bottom of this."

The woman thanked Ash for his offer to help and then left.

"We need to figure out what's going on." Brock said. "Children disappearing like this is wrong."

Ash and Misty agreed.

"I'll look from the air." Ash grew in size and was soon in dragon form. "You two ask the people questions about where the kids may be."

Ash flew over the city to search from the air while Brock and Misty split up and asked a lot of people if they had seen any of the missing children, but they hadn't. Ash then looked down at the street and saw Officer Jenny. He descended and landed in front of her.

"Have you seen any of the missing children?" He asked Officer Jenny.

"Not I haven't." She sighed. "And I've spent the last three days looking for them. I don't suppose you've noticing anything, have you?"

"Well, I did feel something weird in the air earlier." Ash explained. "I have no idea what it was though."

"If you feel it again, please tell me at once." Officer Jenny said. "I'm going to see Nurse Joy now if you wish to join me."

Ash nodded and reverted back to human form.

Ash and Officer Jenny reunited with Brock and Misty at the Pokemon Center.

"Have you seen the children?" They asked Nurse Joy. She hadn't though.

Truth be told Nurse Joy had her hands full; the Pokemon in the Pokemon Center were acting weird. They were very weak and had been exhausted for the last three days. Oddish and Cubone looked like their energy was drained. Magikarp, who is normally full of life, looked like it was dead. A Charmander's flame looked like it would go out at any minute.

"And this one has been in terrible shape." Nurse Joy said. She held a Psyduck in her arms.

"These Pokemon have been like this for the last three days?" Officer Jenny asked.

"Yes." A worried Nurse Joy answered.

Ash then sat down on the floor with his legs crossed.

"What are you doing Ash?" Misty asked.

"Remember the journal Sabrina gave me." Ash replied. "Well I've been looking it over. What I felt earlier was most likely a psychic wave. And I know psychics can sense that sort of thing. I'm trying to find out what kind of wave it is."

He closed his eyes and concentrated. Then his eyes shot back open.

"There are definitely psychic waves in the air. And it's probably why the children went missing and is also the reason for the Pokemon falling asleep."

Just then, Pikachu who had been released from it's Poke Ball fell asleep.

"Oh no." Brock gasped. "Pikachu has been affected by the psychic waves."

"We need to resolve this now." Officer Jenny said. She removed a device from her pocket.

"This will pick up the psychic waves and lead us to where they are coming from. We must go at once."

Thanks to Officer Jenny's device, the psychic waves seemed to be originating from a huge mansion on top of a skyscraper.

"The psychic waves are a lot stronger." Ash said. "So their source is just beyond these doors."

He and Brock opened the doors. There were a lot of people inside and from the looks of it a party was in progress.

"Sorry for the intrusion." Ash apologized. "Is the owner of the mansion here?"

A smart-looking gentleman walked up to him.

"I'm the owner." He said. "How can I help you?"

"We picked up psychic waves coming from this location." Officer Jenny explained.

"Ah those would be coming from our Pokemon Drowzee and Hypno." The gentleman informed them. He pointed to two Pokemon sitting on two chairs.

Ash pulled out his Pokedex.

"Drowzee, the Hypnosis Pokemon. Puts enemies to sleep then eats their dreams. Occasionally gets sick from eating bad dreams."

"Hypno, the Hypnosis Pokemon and the evolved form of Drowzee. When it locks eyes with an enemy, it will use a mix of PSI moves such as Hypnosis and Confusion."

"So Drowzee evolves into Hypno?" Brock asked.

"That's right." The gentleman nodded, before explaining. "And one of our Drowzee evolved three days ago."

Officer Jenny and the gang were surprised to hear this.

"My friends and I suffer from insomnia and have a hard time sleeping. But thanks to Hypno and it's hypnotism, we can finally get some sleep."

"It's good that you are able to sleep." Ash said. "But your Hypno has been causing problems in the city."

"Three days ago, children started going missing and Pokemon became really weak." Officer Jenny explained.

"Oh dear." The gentleman said. "Could Hypno be responsible for that?"

Just then Misty was hypnotized and started acting like a Seel.

"Are you-?" Ash was about to ask if she was alright, but Misty ran out the door.

Ash, Brock, Officer Jenny and the gentleman followed her all the way to the town's park. When they arrived, they were in for a big surprise. All of the missing children were there, along with Misty, but they were acting like Pokemon.

"What's causing them to act like this?" Ash asked surprised, as he saw a boy acting like Bulbasaur.

"It's Pokemonitis." Brock explained. "Hypno's psychic waves caused them to think that they are Pokemon."

"And those waves probably zapped the Pokemon's energy, which is why they're really weak." Ash added.

The gentleman looked at the kids.

"How could this have happened?" He asked out loud.

"This is why you need to be careful with psychic type Pokemon." Ash said. "Their power can be very dangerous on occasion. But what should we do about this?"

"I know." The gentleman said. "We can use Drowzee."

They took Misty back to the mansion and Drowzee returned her to normal.

"What happened?" Misty asked. She didn't remember anything.

"You were hypnotized by Hypno." Ash said. "And it caused you to act like a Seel."

Misty felt embarrassed, but was glad to be back to normal.

Then they took Drowzee to the park and Drowzee stopped the children from acting like Pokemon. The children returned home immediately and the woman the gang ran into earlier was reunited with Arnold. Then finally Drowzee woke the Pokemon in the Pokemon Center and Pikachu up.

"I'm glad that's over." Ash sighed in relief.

Nurse Joy was happy that the Pokemon were all right and Ash was happy his Pikachu was okay.

"I'm going to stick with sleeping pills from now on." The gentleman said. "I don't want a repeat of what happened today."

He and Drowzee then returned home.

Ash, Brock and Misty were about to leave as well when Nurse Joy turned to them. She was holding the Psyduck in her arms.

"This Psyduck is still in somewhat bad shape."

Ash smiled. He knew that Psyduck constantly suffered from headaches. He walked over to Nurse Joy.

"Leave Psyduck with me." He said. "I know exactly how to help it."

Ash caught a Psyduck for himself.

"Why did you decide to keep that Psyduck?" Misty asked.

"Well." Ash said. "One, Psyduck can be strong Pokemon. And two, I'd like to have a Golduck on my team."

So they left the Pokemon Center and continued their journey.
