Here Comes The Sun

Chapter 23

By: The Duchess of Arendelle

AN: Here we go, as promised! Sorry for any and all mistakes! I'm going to write a short little fluff chapter after this, before the ball chapter, because there probably won't be anymore fluff for a while. Actually, it's going to get pretty damn dark. Like really dark after the ball. SO yeah. Enjoy this chapter guys!

Elsa sat in her study, reading over the final guest list. Monarchs, royals, and dignitaries from their neighboring countries and beyond were coming. Some had already began to trickle in; Elsa graciously had them housed in the Eastern wing of the castle, far away from her. The blonde ice queen sighed again as she laid the list down and grabbed the bridge of her nose. She was running out of time and ideas. The ball was in two days and she hadn't come any closer to finding a solution. The castle had been ablaze with an excited buzz. All the staff and citizens of Arendelle were excited about the ball and the prospect of their fair, noble queen finding a husband and finally producing a royal heir. Sir Edmond had been suspiciously lying low since the last council meeting. She had no idea how he figured into all of this, but she knew it had something to do with that ring on his finger, and possibly her father… A knock on the door startled the monarch out of her thoughts. She looked at the grandfather clock standing proudly in the corner. It was 2 a.m. and only one of three people would be coming to her study this late at night, and she was hoping the intruder was a beautiful, bouncy redhead with a chocolate addiction.

"Come in." she quietly called out. The person waited a beat before slowly turning the knob and opening the heavy wooden door. A small smile appeared on Elsa's face when she saw who it was. Anna shyly stepped into the room, softly closing the door behind her, and slowly turning the lock. The redhead was balancing a tray with two steaming cups of hot chocolate with both hands. Anna smiled lightly as she walked up to Elsa, carefully sitting the tray down on top of the large desk before claiming a seat in the blonde's lap, cuddling into her and inhaling her scent. Elsa did the same, loving the smell of Anna's natural scent. After a few minutes Anna finally spoke. "Hi." She said happily, head still in the crock of Elsa's neck. "Hi." Elsa responded, smiling down at the redhead in her arms. "I missed you today." The blonde said in a quiet voice. Anna looked up and smiled at her. "I missed you too." She spoke just as quietly. "Were you terribly busy today?" the redhead continued. Elsa sighed heavily, closing her eyes for a second as she responded. "Busy doesn't even begin to describe the hectic day I've had." Anna looked on in sympathy and encouraged Elsa to continue. "Everything is about this damn ball. I'm sick of it all, and I- I don't know what to do Anna. I don't know how to fix this. I don't see a way out." Elsa said, voice cracking at the end. Anna quickly wrapped her arms tighter around Elsa, pulling the blonde closer. "It's okay Elsa. Everything's going to be okay." Anna tried to reassure the blonde. Elsa shook he head slowly. "I don't think I can believe that. I don't know how-" Anna cut the blonde off with a chaise kiss on the mouth. Her lips remained pressed against Elsa's for a full minute before she broke the contacted, resting her forehead against the blonde's.

"Do you trust me Elsa?" Anna asked, both hands cupping the blonde's cheeks as she rubbed the pad of her thumbs against them. Elsa stared into Anna's eye. That was possibly the most ridiculous question she ever heard. Of course she did. "Anna, you know I do. I trust you with everything I am." Elsa responded, leaning into Anna's touch. The redhead smiled sweetly as she placed another kiss on the blonde's lips. "Then trust me when I say, everything is going to be fine." Anna told the blonde when they finally ended the kiss. Elsa stared at Anna in confusion. The redhead had so much confidence and conviction in her voice. She vaguely wondered what the young princess had up her sleeve but decided against voicing her questions. Instead she settled for slowly nodding her head and leaning closer into Anna's embrace. After five minutes of peaceful silence, Anna once again broke it. The redhead leaned forward and grabbed both mugs of hot chocolate. "Here, they're probably cool enough to drink now." She told the blonde ice queen as she carefully handed it to her. Elsa gently took the warm mug. She stared into the cup and smiled when she saw the marsh mellow smiley face. She looked at Anna with a raised brow. "Olaf's idea." Was Anna's simple explanation, as she took a sip from her own cup. Elsa giggled. "Of course it was." She said before bringing the hot liquid to her lips. She let out a low satisfied moan. That was some seriously delicious hot chocolate. She turned her head back towards Anna when she heard the redhead laughing. "What?" she asked confused with a light blush on her cheeks. Anna just smiled, still laughing lightly when she gestured to her own face. "You got a little…." She trailed off, taping her lip. Elsa's blush darkened a bit and she brought a hand up to try to wipe it away. "Did I get it?" she asked after wiping at her lip. The little white spot of marshmallow still resided at the corner of Elsa's mouth. Anna shook her head and Elsa groaned. She tried again and looked at Anna expectedly. The redhead shook her head again. Before Elsa could get seriously frustrated, Anna reached out with her own hand, gently rubbing the sticky marshmallow fluff away. "There. Perfect." She told the blonde when she finished. Elsa turned an adorable shade of pink at the redhead's words. She turned away slightly and muttered a low 'Thank you.' Anna smiled at the fact her sister was still so shy around her. She gently grabbed the blonde's face and turned it back to face her. "I love you, you know." Anna stated not as a question, but as a fact. Elsa smiled. Sitting her cup back down, she wrapped her arms back around Anna's waist. "I love you too. With all of my heart." Elsa whispered back before capturing Anna's lips in a passionate kiss.

********************************FROZEN**********************************

The next day Anna meet up with her friends. She had spent the night in Elsa's chambers. The two laid in the blonde's bed and Elsa had promised the redhead that she would spend the entire day with her, her advisor be damned. Anna had risen extra early the next morning. She left the still peacefully sleeping blonde and assembled her crew. Rapunzel was the hardest to wrangle up because, one, it was far too early for the blonde, and two, her husband Eugene, had just arrived two days prior and it was easier to tear a dead wildebeest away from a hungry lion then to tear Rapunzel away from Eugene. She finally convinced a grumpy half asleep Rapunzel to come with her with the promise of breakfast and coffee. Now Kristoff, Rapunzel, the overly hyper Olaf, and the still way to handsome and fresh looking for it to be so early Adam, sat in her room. The two men sat on the floor while Rapunzel sat on the bed next to Olaf. She paced back in forth in front of her friends. Finally she stopped and stood, staring at her motley crew of friends. After slowly taking in a deep breath and releasing it, she spoke.

"Okay guys, here's the plan."

The plan, as it turned out, actually wasn't a bad one. Anna went over it so many times with so many details that they could all now recite it in their sleep.

"Okay, as you all know, Elsa will make her grand entrance as Queen Elsa of Arendelle. Shortly after they'll introduce me as Princess Anna of Arendelle. The crowd will cheer and all eyes will be on us. That's when you, Kristoff disguised as one of the attendants, take Grand Pabi's potion and surreptitiously pour it into the champagne fountain. The other attendants will then begin to prefill glasses for the toast I plan to make." At this they all exchanged skeptical looks with each other. Anna rolled her eyes. "What? I'm an excellent speech maker person." They still stared at her skeptically. "Whatever, continuing on. Kai will give a long boring introduction about Arendelle and its history and its monarchs and blah blah blah. After all the glasses are filled you give Rapunzel the signal and she will chant for a speech. I will of course make a magnificent speech about how proud I am of our kingdom, our people, and our queen. I will then ask everyone to lift their glasses in a toast to Elsa. During my speech glasses are to be handed out to everybody, and I mean everybody. They'll raise their glasses, chant 'Lenge leve Arendelle og Lenge leve Dronning!' a couple of times and then they have to drink the champagne. Everyone must drink it or this whole plan is null and void. Then the party begins. Elsa will be flooded by a sea of suitors, all looking to win her hand. I'll probably have a few look my way. That's when you, Adam, come over and offer me a dance. I will graciously accept of course and we'll begin to waltz. Halfway through the waltz, Rapunzel and Eugene will 'accidentally' bump into us. I, being the klutz that I am, will fall and hurt my ankle. Again. I'll have to regretfully excuse myself from the rest of the party. Twenty minutes later, in walks the handsome, suave, charming, good looking-" Rapunzel interrupted her with an eye roll. "Okay we get it." Anna cleared her throat and continued. "Prince Andre of the Midlands. He, i.e. me will come in and charm the ice corset off of Elsa, all other competition crushed. I propose, she accepts and we ride off into the sunset living happily ever after. The end." Anna finished. Adam, Olaf, and Rapunzel all clapped at the plan. Anna bowed. Kristoff raised his hand and spoke. "Anna that is actually a really good plan…" Kristoff began hesitantly. Anna smiled brightly. "Thank you!" Kristoff continued. "But. What happens after the party? Are you going to dress up like Prince Andre every day? If so, how are you going to explain you and Andre never being in the same room at the same time? What about when they expect you to, you know, have kids. I'm sorry, but you are definitely missing the right equipment for that. Anna, your plan is good enough to buy you a few days, maybe a week. But what then? Andre is not the answer to your problem, he's just a temporary fix." The blonde mountain man finished. He hated raining on his friend's parade, but someone had to be the realist. Anna deflated at bit. She hadn't really thought much past the ball. She figured if she could just make it through the event everything would be fine. The redhead slowly sat down on a chair close to her bed, sighing heavily. Rapunzel looked angrily at Kristoff and the boy held up his hands. The blonde princess rushed to Anna's side, holding the girl close and rubbing circles on her back.

"Don't worry Anna, we'll think of something, we always do. For now, let's just focus on getting through the ball. Let's take this one step at a time, okay? Hope is not lost." She reassured. Anna gave her a watery smile. "You're right Punz. I can't give up hope." Kristoff walked up to Anna's side and wrapped an arm around the small redhead. "I'm really sorry Anna, I didn't mean to upset you, I just wanted-" Anna cut him off, smiling softly. "I know Kristoff. And you were right too. Thank you. Thanks to all of you guys. I love you all." She smiled at her friends. They all came and squished her in a hug. "You are the best Anna." Adam told her. Olaf giggled then looked up seriously.

"Wait. You never told me my part in this."

AN: Like I said, another little chapter after this, then the ball. It's about to get angsty up in here. Kristoff, always the voice of reason and doubt. I love him. I hope you guys are ready for the ball. Next to the last chance to cast in your suggestions for characters or things you want to see at the ball! That damn Edmond has something very sinister up his sleeves. Get ready to hate him even more. ANYWAY. Love you all, hope you enjoyed this update, review, pm, follow, fav, or none of the above. I'm just glad you're still reading this!

Lenge leve Arendelle og Lenge leve Dronning- Long live Arendelle, Long live the queen!
