Here Comes the Sun

Chapter 43

By: The Duchess of Arendelle

AN: Part One

"I'm sorry, what?" Kristoff asked the pleading redhead in front of him.

"Let me see if I'm understanding you correctly. You want me to sail to England with Rapunzel's ex-con husband and scope out a secret society that Edmund and his ex were once a part of, then find said ex and try to somehow pry damning evidence about her ex boyfriend from her?" The blonde Ice Master clarified.

"Yes. That's exactly what I want." Anna responded simply, nodding her head.

"You realize how ridiculous that sounds, right?" Kristoff asked with a raised brow.

"Yes, okay, I know it's a little out there, but what other choice do we have? Edmund has made his move and we don't have much time until he and Elsa are married. Any proof we can dig up proving that he is not who he claims to be could save Elsa from having to marry that snake and remove him from our lives for good. Edmund finds you zero percent intimidating. He doesn't see you as a threat at all."

"Hey!" Kristoff interjected, completely offended. Anna offered an apologetic smile and continued.

"But it's true. And we can use that to our advantage. You're the only one of us who can leave Arendelle and he won't be suspicious of you. Plus you have the perfect cover. You're the official 'Ice Master' of Arendelle. We can say we sent you to England to negotiate a trade deal for ice or something."

"A trade deal... for ice?" The blonde deadpanned.

"Or something!" Anna defended. "Just… please Kristoff, please do this for us. For me." Anna finished, eyes glistening.

Kristoff looked at the redhead and rolled his eyes. With a huff he responded, "That's not fair Anna. You know I can't with the whole-" he gestured to Anna's sad demeanor before sighing heavily. "You know what? Fine. Fine! I'll do it." he conceded, folding his arms across his chest.

Anna squealed in excitement and threw her arms around Kristoff's neck.

"Thank you, thank you, thank you. You have no idea how much this means to me!"

The burly blonde huffed goodnaturedly at the redhead's gratitude and uncrossed his arms to return the embrace.

"Yeah whatever, Feisty Pants."

Ending the hug, Kristoff pulled out a chair for Anna to sit in before grabbing one for himself across from her. The two had been tucked in a dark corner of the massive castle library, hoping the normally empty room would conceal them from prying eyes and ears. Folding his hands across the table, he leaned in close and asked.

"So what's the plan? How do you expect Eugene and I to infiltrate a cult for eccentric rich people?" He asked. Anna opened her mouth to answer when a voice cut in before her.

"That is where I come in." a heavily accented voice said confidently. Anna jumped slightly in her seat and Kristoff stood, ready to fight. A figure emerged from the shadow and smirked at the two.

"Christ Adam! You scared us." Anna told the handsome prince, placing a hand over her throbbing heart.

"Were you just standing in that corner waiting for a cue to come out?" Kristoff asked with a sigh.

Adam smiled again. "It is more dramatic that way, no?" The prince joked.

"Besides." He continued. "I am known for lurking around in dark libraries. Just ask Belle." He finished, pulling out a chair to join them at the small table. He laughed when Anna lightly swatted his arm.

"Thank you for meeting us here, Adam." Anna told the strapping brunette. He ducked his head in a low nod of acknowledgement.

"As Adam said upon his unnecessarily dramatic entrance, getting you and Eugene access into the secret society's ranks is where he comes in. Adam?" Anna said, raising a hand in his direction, signaling him to continue.

"Ah, oui. As a disgraced, overly indulgent prince with anger issues, naturally my parents often sent me away to different parts of the world on faux diplomatic trips, hoping it would 'teach me responsibility' or 'straighten me out'." the brunette started, lazily bringing his hand up to mimic his parents mouth movement.

"Indeed, I've made quite the impression on the international stage. My name is known in many upper class and niche circles across Europe. England included. I will accompany you both on this trip as a liaison. Your English is atrocious and you lack the knowledge of basic etiquette. Not to mention you've never negotiated anything before in your life. I'm doing Queen Elsa a favor by accompanying you." As Adam spoke, he quickly held up a hand to stop Kristoff's offended interjection.

"These are the excuses we will use to justify my departure." He clarified. Kristoff closed his mouth and sat back in his chair, cheeks faintly red. Anna bit her lip to stop from laughing at the blonde.

"So, what? You're gonna get us access to the cult thing? How?"

"Leave that to me Monsieur Bjorgman."
