Chapter 2-Rainbow vs Viola! Battle for the Bug Badge

It was a brand new day as Rainbow and Swellow got up and out of the forest and made to Santalune City. As they headed for the Gym, both of them saw the news on Santalune TV!

"As so, a Garchomp was ramping its way in Lumiose City…Just we thought it couldn't be stopped, a boy with a Pikachu and Froakie had saved the ramping Pokemon and Lumiose City." The Reporter explained.

As Rainbow read the news her Swellow pecked her shoulder trying to get her attention.

"Hm? Oh, sorry, buddy. I was just distracted by the news." She chuckled.

Swelllow accepted her apology and the two of them made their way to the Santalune Gym. Upon arriving they saw a woman who was riding a Gogoat, who had a bag on her waist she had light brown hair and had a Helioptile on her shoulder.

"Excuse me, are you headed toward the Santalune Gym?" the woman asked.

"Yes, I am," Rainbow answered.

"Well, I just warn you that Gym Leader is no pushover! She is really strong, you know." The woman asked.

"So I've heard. I also heard that Gym Leader's name is Viola, and she uses Bug Types, right?" Rainbow asked.

"If not any trouble I can watch your battle?" the woman asked.

"But of course she and I don't mind!" Rainbow agreed.

"Perfect! Should we go in?" The woman asked.

"Alright.." Rainbow nodded.

With that, the two of them enter the gym where they saw a hall filled with photos!

"Hey, Sis! It's about time you got here!" another woman called out. The two turned to see another woman, with blonde hair, a white shirt, and a camera around her neck.

Sorry, Viola. I just arrived from Decolore Islands!" The woman giggled.

"Wait, sis?" Rainbow repeated, bewildered.

"Oh, that's right. I haven't told you, huh? I'm Alexa! And Viola is my younger sister!" Alexa explained, feeling embarrassed.

"And who is this?" Viola asked.

Rainbow stepped forward and gulped. "My name is Rainbow Dash. And I challenge you for the Bug Badge."

"Oh really? Well, then I accept your challenge! See you on the battlefield. Come see me when you're ready." Viola giggled.

"Whoa! That heart-pounding back there!" Rainbow said as she felt really nervous.

"I told before, she not a Gym Leader to be taken lightly. It always happens the first-time challengers." Alexa explained.

Rainbow shook her head and slowly relieved herself. "Alright then… Ready Swellow?" Rainbow her partner.

Swellow nodded her head and the two headed to the battlefield. Rainbow widened her eyes at the battlefield. "Whoa…" Rainbow saw the battlefield as looks a greenhouse.

"I take it that you like it." Viola called out. Rainbow turned around and saw her on the other side of the field.

"It may be nice but I'm winning this thing one way or another!" Rainbow Dash smirked.

"We shall see. Come on out, Surskit!" Viola called. The Pond Skater Pokemon appeared ready for battle.

"Okay Graveler your up!" Rainbow called. Graveler faced Surskit, ready for battle!

"The Gym Battle Rainbow and Leader Viola will now begin. The rule is 2vs2 Pokemon elimination battle. The battle will end when either side has no more Pokemon. Furthermore, only the challenger will substitute. And since both of you have brought your Pokemon without further do, Let the Battle Begin!" The Referee said.

Viola: Surskit+1 VS Rainbow Graveler + 1

"The first move is yours, Dash" She smirked.

"Not a problem! Graveler used Brick Break!" She yelled. Graveler charged with a Fighting Type move.

"Surskit! Used Signal Beam!" Viola shouted

Surskit shot a glowing beam toward Graveler! "Quick, make dust cloud!" Rainbow yelled. Graveler spun around causing sand to negate the Signal Beam! "Perfect! Now use Take Down!" Graveler jumped high managed caused impact on Surskit.

"Not Bad, Ice Beam on the battlefield," Viola screamed. The Pond Skater Pokemon shot frozen blast on the field as the area is covered with ice.

"It won't stop us from winning this battle Now use Rock Slide!" Graveler responded as he unveiled Large boulders are hurled at the Surisikt which hit and Surskit was down for the count.

"Surskit is unable to battle! Graveler wins!" the referee declared.

Viola: 1 Pokemon Left

"One down! One to go!" Rainbow smiled as well as Graveler.

"It's not over yet, you have one more to beat! Go! Vivillon!" Viola shouted. The big Pokemon that had wings appeared! "So, that's your ace Pokemon…" Rainbow whispered while she took out Graveler's Pokeball "Graveler return!" She called.

"You ready?" She asked Swellow. Swellow responded and soar on the battlefield.

"Ooh! That's a stylish Swellow!" Viola complimented.

Both Vivillon and Swellow stared at each other preparing for battle. "We'll go first! Use Air Cutter!" Swellow unleashes razorlike wind at Vivillon. "Vivillon! Use Psychic!" Vivillion was able to stop but wide open. "Now use Aerial Ace!' Rainbow Shouted. The Aerial Ace made direct contact with delver major damage to Vivillon. But it still standing and used Solar Beam, but Swellow dodged in time. "Let finish this! Now Brave Bird!" Rainbow yelled. Swellow tucks in its wings and charges from a low altitude thus deliver damage to Vivillon! As the dust clear Viola's Vivillon was groaning from the massive blow from Brave Bird!

"Vivillon is unable to battle! To The score of 2-0, Rainbow Dash is the Winner!" the referee declared.

Rainbow: Winner!

"Alright! We did it Swellow!" Rainbow called. Swellow flew over to her and the two of them hugged very tightly.

"Well guess I lost." Viola sighed as completely underestimated Rainbow and her Pokemon. "Rainbow, I'm very impressed of your battling style! And with that, I give you the Bug Badge!" Viola replied. She gave Rainbow a badge that looked like a ladybug with green spots on the back.

"Thank you, Viola!" Rainbow thanked. She looking at the shiny badge, grinned. "This is it, Swelllow! Our first Kalos badge!"

"Oh damn! I forgot to sign up for the Kalos Pokemon League" Rainbow moaned.

Very Much Later… Rainbow was able to get Badge Case and register for the League without a Pokedex. Rainbow Dash thanked Nurse Joy and Wigglytuff and place the Bug Badge in the case.

"One down! Seven to Complete before we compete in the Kalos League!" Rainbow replied to Swellow.

"Swellow!" Swellow agreed.

Swellow: (F): (Brave Bird, Sky Attack, Aerial Ace, Air Cutter)

Metagross: (M): (Bullet Punch, Hammer Arm, Meteor Mash, Flash Cannon)

Graveler: (M): (Take Down, Rock Slide, Brick Break, Thunder Punch)
