Let's get started!

Quiet.

Stagnant.

Silence.

The void was known by these characteristics. A blank canvas of white with no end in sight, and although at first a moment of peace is in actuality a double edged sword for mental calamity and instability.

A place where he calls home. A place he ended up from his own past, and now is haunted by, but has accepted it as his fate.

The destroyer of worlds… or at least the former.

Error.

Trapped in the void for an extended period of time has effected him greatly, that his contact with people has become hostile due to extreme discomfort. His lose of sanity followed by loss in mercy accumulated in his power for destruction. His target became other worlds based off the original that were branches meant to be cut off in his eyes.

However, he had come to a truce with the Guardian of the worlds to end their war by ceasing creation and destruction. Though not at full ease, he agreed to it anyway and then returned to the void that was basically his home. Although he decided that being alone and only being a spectator brought him contentment, deep within himself, beyond the glitches, was a longing for something more for his life. To stop destroying made him realize that whether he never destroys again or fully destroys all, what would he have then for his life?

Although the answer wasn't what he expected…

Start.

Standing in void stood Error Sans, as he was untangling blue strings that were wrapped around his hands. He wore a black open jacket with a red turtleneck shirt underneath and a blue scarf around his neck, and black shorts with red slippers and yellow socks on his red skeletal legs. His jacket had blue strings sown around certain parts of the arms with yellow lines on the edges, as his shorts had a yellow vertical line on each side of the legs. His skull was black, the darkness of his hollow eyes were red, and the pupil of one eye was blue and yellow, while the other was only yellow like his teeth. Occasionally, he would glitch codes from his body and the word 'ERROR' as well. There were blue streaks from his eyes down to his cheeks, and his hands that finally untangled the blue strings were black palmed with red fingers and yellow fingertips. He made the strings disappear, not noticing the inky portal opening from behind him.

"Hey Error! Are you busy?" Ink Sans greeted him as he popped his head up from within the poot, startling Error as he fell over.

"Ink! You freak! What the heck was that?!" Error yelled as he grumpily picked himself up and dusted himself off.

"Sorry about that, best buddy! I forgot how sensiitive you are," Ink said as he rubbed the back of his head, and Error glared at him.

"I'm not your buddy, idiot. What do you want?" Error asked as he dusted himself off, and didn't notice a silver circle open from behind a white beany chair nearby, nor did Ink.

"Well, I wanted to see how you were doing and…" Ink stopped speaking as he tried to remember why he was there.

"... Hello Ink," Error said, with a bored expression.

"Hi Error! How are you?" Ink asked, as Error face-palmed.

"Why are you bothering me?!" Error asked.

"Oh right! We were wondering if you were willing to hang out with us! You know, maybe walk around the Multiverse, have a good time and all! I'm sure there's places we haven't discovered and I'd like you to meet a new guy I met not too long ago," Ink replied.

"First of all, who is we? And second, no," Error said.

"Well that's me, Dream, Blue, and the other guy Darken. I think you might get along with him well. I thought a kind of reunion would be good for us, and maybe you can join so that there's no hard feelings between any of us! Darken suggested it- Wait, what? Come on, Error! What else you got to do? It's not like you destroy anymore," Ink said with a wink, as Error glowered at him.

"Shut up! And I don't care about being friends with you or those idiots of yours! Just leave me alone and that will be friendly enough," Error said, folding his arms to prevent himself from bringing forth his strings to kick Ink out.

"Come ooooon, Error. We can go to a world you want to this time, and you already rejected my offer to watch a movie yesterda-"

"That movie is pure garbage and you know it!"

"It's called entertainment. Even sucky movies are alright if you get to laugh at them," Ink said, making Error's eye twitch since his logic made sense but he was still annoyed at him.

"Look, you've been hanging out here for a little longer then usual, and we both know being alone here for too long can be pretty bad," Ink said, more seriously.

"Sigh. Look Ink… stop being stupid and concerned for me, alright? I'm fine. It's just weird to not wreck things since I have more free time and… I still don't feel right in here," Error said, turning partially away from him and placing his hand on his chest.

"… Oh I see! Don't worry Error! I can just fix up your clothes! You don't have to feel bad looking like a hobo," Ink said, as Error turned to him fuming and yelled,

"Not my freaking clothes, you moron! Inside!"

"… Oooh. You mean your soul," Ink said, finally getting it.

"Yeah, something you obviously lack," Error spat and Ink just chuckled.

"Alright alright. I'll ya alone for today then. But I'll definitely be back tomorrow and I'm not giving you a choice. I at least want you to meet Darken, okay?" Ink said.

"Whatever, fine! Just get out already!" Error said with a wave of his hand.

"See ya tomorrow, Error!" Ink said and then dived back into his inky portal.

"Tsk," Error snarled as he turned away with his eyes closed while the inky remains disappeared.

"Wow, that was a pretty fun conversation. You're friend there or whatever really has patience with you," A voice said as Error's eyes widened and he swerved around to see who was the wielder.

The voice belonged to a tanned female lady with one eye of yellow, and the other eye of light blue with a faded scar of three strikes over it, as well as a yellow scarf around her neck and a lone fang poking from her mouth. Her black hair with orange ends was in a high ponytail as her bangs and hair on the sides of her face hung loose, and she wore a white shirt with yellow edges and long black pants with orange edges on the bottom and an orange belt. Her black shoes had light blue waves on the bottom, and over her shoulders were strapes that held a yellow puppy backpack.

"Ah, sorry, did I frighten you? Heh. I have a knack for just popping in," She said with a sheepish grin.

"… Who are you, and how did you even get in here?" Error asked, his guard going up as he examined the creature before himself.

"Uh, don't be too alarmed, my dude," She said with her hands raised, "My name is Mirror."

"Mirror? What kind of name is that?" Error asked.

"Well, that's my name. Better to distinguish myself then saying Curtain. And who are you to say anything about my name, Error," Mirror said with a pout, as he coughed a bit.

"Ehem, well, anyway it's still strange, eavesdropper," Error said, and Mirror just made a face.

"Back to my question. How and why are you get here?" Error asked.

"Well I got here with my own abilities, and as to why I just happened to sense someone was here so I just came for a look. I didn't like come with any ill intent or anything. Just curiosity is all. And you, my friend, are pretty interesting so far," Mirror said honestly.

"I'm not your friend, yo-" Error stepped away as she walked closer to him.

"Hey! Back up will you! I'm trying to interrogate you without violence," Error commanded.

"Ehh? This is an interrogation? I didn't even realize it… man, you must be good at this since I've been answering your questions without knowing! Good job," Mirror said as she clapped.

"Oh great, another sarcastic annoyance," Error said.

"Huh? I'm not being sarcastic, jerk! I'm actually being serious. If you can't tell then we have indeed got off on the wrong foot. How about we start again," Mirror said as she rubbed her hands together and then outstretched one towards him.

"Hello. My name is Mirror. I am also Curtain but I prefer Mirror. What's your name?"

Error looked between her and her hand, though not about to take her hand, but noticing that in her eyes held no ill intent as he had previous suspected. He decided to play along to learn about this girl since she was able to actually enter his plane at will.

"… My name is Error. And no I won't shake your hand. Keep it to yourself," Error said.

"Hm! Don't be rude to me! Or are you scared to shake the hand of the most beautiful person in the universe?!" Mirror said, though not meaning any form of pride in her appearance.

Error arched a browbone and said, "No! I'm not afraid of you or your supposed 'beauty!' I just don't want to touch your hand! I don't know where you've been!"

"What are you a germaphobe? And what the heck?! I bathe every freaking day I can! Don't be such a jerk! I'm being nice!"

"Well breaking and entering while listening to a conversation that has nothing to do with you isn't so nice, now is it?" Error began backing away as she advanced with each sentence.

"It wasn't intentional! I didn't even really know where I ended up and I didn't know if you were dangerous or something! But apparently you aren't. You're just MEAN!"

"Mean?! How's this for mean then?!" Error said as he brought out his hand and out shot his blue strings around her.

The strings wrapped around her as she was lifted into the air and brought closer to him.

"Now if you don't mind, I'm kicki-"

"Oh NOW you'll let me come near you, huh?! Say what kind of treatment is this to someone who hasn't even done anything or raised arms against you?! What the heck man?!" Mirror complained, as Error was surprised by her lack of fear or flinch at her situation.

"You're getting all worked up and nothing is even happening! I just offered my hand to shake, and you get all puffed up and uppity! It's like your afraid… of contact… with someone…" Mirror said, as she slowed down in her realization, and Error just narrowed his eyes at her.

"Do you happen to… have haphephobia by any chance?" Mirror asked.

"… What of it?" Error replied.

"Ooooh. I get it now. You don't like contact… DUDE! You could have just said that! Communication, my dude!" Mirror berated, as Error grew annoyed and yet intrigued by this girl's boldness.

"Yeah well, whatever! I don't owe you an explanatiuon!" Error said.

"But you do owe me an apology for freaking hoisting me up like one of those dolls and yelling at me! I'm not your friend Ink that you can just yell at and toss aside! I have rights!" Mirror said as she started kicking her feet to loosen the hold.

"Listen you! First off, respect those dolls! They hold perfect craftsmenship in every inch of their thread counts! And secondly, Ink isn't my friend! I only tolerate him because of our truce and nothing more! Now stop being so nosey and mind your business!" Error said.

"I would if you weren't so annoying! You could have just been nice, but nooo! You had to act all grumpy and be rude so that I would retaliate by talking more because your mean and now here we are!" Mirror said.

"You're blaming m- Grrr! Just get out of here!" Error said as he opened a portal behind himself to throw her in.

"You throw me through that portal, and I PROMISE you that you won't hear the end of it from me! I'm not scared of you! I know how to get back here, so don't think it'll work! I want my apology and I want to give you mine too for not realizing your fear sooner!" Mirror threatened.

Error blinked as his brow arched more, and then smirked as her eyes widened.

"Good luck," Error said, as he tossed Mirror in the portal.

It closed as he rubbed his hand together and chuckled to himself.

"Heheheheh. Foolish girl. Like if I would take an empty threat seri..ous..ly" Error slowly stopped speaking when from his perifial vision, he could make out a figure of yellow and orange jump up from the ground.

He turned and his eyes widened to see Mirror staring daggers at him with her fists clenched. She dropped her backpack off her back, as Error stared at her movement.

"Just know, Error… I'm going to give you the BIGGEST hug of your life…" Mirror nearly whispered, as Error realized he made a big mistake.

Mirror chased after Error, jumping through silver portal she made to avoid an attack by him or to return to the world there, since when Error would grab her he would throw her through a portal with his strings. Error used more stronger attacks such as his blasters and red bones, though Mirror was able to send some of his attacks back at him and teleport to dodge the blasters. Error was growing a little tired since this girl was very tenacious, and yet he couldn't help but smirk since he hadn't felt the thrill of a challenge for a while. He kept on going with his defense as she pressed forward with offense, wanting to apologize after going through with her vengeance for his disrespect. She knew it may have been wrong to bother him so much, but he didn't make it better by being so rude and calling her names.

The pursuit lasted a little longer, and Mirror nearly reached him, as Error instead teleported himself out as she reamined there. Mirror stamped her foot and clicked her tongue at how close she got, then started heading towards her backpack.

Meanwhile Error was laying in an isolated area under the stars and breathing out a little hard with a wide smile on his boney face. He looked at his hand that had broken string wrapped on his fingertips and just chuckled as he laid it down.

"Man… that girl is pretty tough… heh. I haven't felt this rush in a long time."

Error then seemed to smile more as he thought of her expression and the fire deep in her eyes that made them glow more luminously. He sat up and breathed out, preparing himself to go back and yet only growing slightly annoyed since she managed to make him run from his own home void. Error then rose, dusted himself off, and then headed back to the void with his strings no longer in use for battle.

Mirror picked up her backpack and put it on when Error came back, she turned towards him with a growl, and Error lifted a hand up towards her.

"Alright, alright. No more fighitng. I won't attack so please just stop chasing me, okay?" Error said, and after a moment, Mirror settled down.

"So you finally came to give that apology?" Mirror asked, though knowing he probably wasn't.

"No, but I'll treat you to dinner since you seem tired too and I need some grub after all of that. But just know, I'm only doing this because it was at least fun and helped me kill some time so don't think anything of it," Error said, surprising Mirror.

After blinking a few times to assess the situation, Mirror nodded and said, "Well since you're offering, sure thing. But might I suggest a place to go to? I heard of a nice eatery in a certain world that I wanted to try out."

"… Fine. Lead the way, but it better not be too expensive!" Error said even though he could easily take money from anywhere he wanted, as Mirror giggled.

"Don't worry. It'll be fine. Let's go!"

Mirror opened her palm as her hand glowed silver and turned it clockwise as a silver portal opened in front of them.

"Come on," Mirror said and then walked through, as Error followed her through.

They first ended up in a forest near a river, as Error wondered why they were there. Mirror told him she was actually planning to go somewhere else but she gets the paths confused sometimes. She then opened up a new path that led them to the place she was planning to go in a city alley.

"What is this? What are we doing here? There's garbage!" Error complained, as he noticed the garbage cans near the walls.

"Relax. It's better if we keep a low profile, you know? Wouldn't want to catch too much attention or else the ones from here may bother us," Mirror said, slightly easing Error's temper.

"Tsk. Fine. So where do we go from here?" Error asked, folding his arms.

"Well from the direction of the sun and since we're not actually in the center of the city, the place should be in that direction," Mirror pointed leftward.

"… Are you sure you know where you're going?" Error asked as they started walking.

"I'm not one hundred percent because I've never been there before. I just know the directions from friends of mine. And relax already. You'll be fine as long as you don't try to destroy anything or string people up like little pixies in the woods," Mirror said with a wink, and Error scoffed.

"I'm relaxed already. Stop bothering me," Error said.

"Those folded arms aren't. You are in a defensive pose," Mirror said.

"Hmph," Error said as he put his hands in his pockets instead, unintentionally winning a smile from Mirror as he instinctively averted his gaze from hers.

"You know, you may be a bit grumpy, but at least you listen. I can at least appreciate that and the dinner," Mirror said.

"Well maybe giving you some food will finally shut you up," Error said as he smirked when he saw her glaring at him.

"You're not nice!" Mirror said.

"I'm not, I'm Error," He said, as she held back a giggle while he chuckled.

"Seriously, how is that guy friends with you? No wait, I mean 'best buddies' with you," Mirror said, gazing at him with a small smile that turned smug when Error narrowed his eyes towards her.

"I already said he's NOT my friend, so quit it!" Error said.

"Then quit picking on me, jerk," Mirror said.

They had a momentary staredown as they stopped walking, their wills at a clash, their minds in a battle, their hearts beating as those ready for battle.

"… Okay," Error said, and kept walking as Mirror smiled triumphedly and walked along with him.

"Thank you. That wasn't so hard, now was it?" Mirror said, as Error just huffed.

"… And well… I am sorry for just busting in your turf like that. I really didn't mean to do it," Mirror said, as Error felt himself naturally ease in tension from hearing her words.

"… And what about trying to jump at me like a jackrabbit?" Error asked with a certain expression, and Mirror breathed out softly,

"No."

"What?! Why not?!"

"I cannot truly apologize for making you that uncomfortable. I have seen fears of people in the form of phobias or traumas and… it is not something to take lightly. So for that I do owe you something, not just words," Mirror said with her eyes closed for a moment.

Error couldn't help but stare at this creature in wonder and bewilderment of her behavior, especially in having such considerate behavior towards him. Treating him as a person and actually apologizing was one thing, but taking it further to say she owed him was quite generous of her. He didn't really care for anything in return and an apology would have been fine since she offered it anyway, but now he felt a small bit of himself obliged to ask her for something even though he didn't necessarily need anything he couldn't get anyway.

"If you can think of anything you'd like, I'd be more then happy to get it for you," Mirror said as she opened her eyes.

Error took her words into consideration, though keeping his defenses up in his mind, he felt a wall he had over his chest loosen towards her and her genuinely kind behavior.

"Well, I can't think of anything now, but I'll let you know since you're offering…" Error said, and Mirror nodded.

"You got it. Just say the word whenever you got something in mind, and it'll be yours."

"Aww, how cuuute," A guy said walking with his two friends by them, as Mirror and Error grew annoyed.

"It's just so romantic, it sickens me. Hahahaha!" The other friend said, Error's eyes narrowing while Mirror grit her teeth.

"Isn't it? But it doesn't seem fair for the lady to be so giving to a guy who doesn't reciprocate. Hey, girl. How about going out with me instead?" The third friend, who was a monster, asked.

"Ugh. You're so rude to interrupt our conversation and then you ask that? No way, now go about your business," Mirror said.

"Oooh, she's a tough one," The first guy said.

"You got a pretty tough girlfriend there, dude. Pretty lucky," the other friend said as he patted Error on the shoulder.

Error flinched and hopped back as blue strings immediately shot forth from around his fingertips. The strings grabbed the guy's soul and held him suspended in midair.

"Don't. Touch. Me," Error said, with an aggressively serious and annoyed expression.

The other two friends stepped back in fear, as Mirror wasn't as surprised by his reaction but made sure to run behind him to stay out of his range.

"I-I'm sorry dude, sir! We were just j-joking!" The guy said.

"Oh really? Do I look like I'm laughing?" Error asked, browbone raised.

The guy said nothing, too scared to talk, as his friends were as well.

"It's one thing to butt-in on other people's conversations, but it's another to be disrespectful by bothering my girl!" Error said, as he tugged on the strings which squeezed the guy's soul a little as he yelped in pain.

The two friends were shaken, and Mirror's eyes went wide by how Error referred to her.

"Please sir! We're sorr-" the monster friend said, as Error grabbed him with his strings by his soul too.

"You've got some nerve to talk to her like that, you rude pieces of garbage! Who the hell do you think you are to talk to a lady like that, especially when she's with someone? And especially if that someone is ME!" Error said, as he squeezed both of their souls.

Some other people were walking by and wanted to intervene, but after hearing what Error said, they decided to stay out of it. Mirror was surprised by his defense of her, as she quietly awaited his next actions.

"You know where garbage like you three belong?" Error said with an ambiguous smile and narrowed eyes as he looked at the third friend who became pale.

Error took the two friends in his strings and used them to pick up the third friend by slamming them together, side-by-side.

"In the TRASH!" Error said, as he threw the three guys into three garbage cans in an alley nearby that had no lids.

The strings disappeared, as the guys were struggling to get out of the garbage cans. Mirror then yelled out to the guys in the alley,

"You guys got DUNKED ON! Oooohhh!"

"Come on, woman! Let's go," Error said, smoothing his jacket, and Mirror nodded.

They started walking along the sidewalk, Error in the lead, and Mirror said,

"Sooo, that was cool. You being all intimidating and dumping them in the garbage cans."

"Yeah, those guys were idiots. But dumping them was pretty fun," Error said, with a smirk.

"Yeah. That was… really nice of you to defend me like that. Thanks," Mirror said with a smile towards him, as Error looked towards her.

"… Tsk. It was no big deal. They got what was coming for all that talk and placing their fifthy hand on my shoulder," Error said.

"Right right. Your girl understands," Mirror said with a smug smirk.

It took a moment and a half for Error to fully process what she meant, and then he realized what she said as he turned towards her waving his arms,

"Hold on a minute! No! NO! Wait! I didn't mean it as you being my girlfriend! I just meant that you're with me... not with me, but with me! Okay?!" Error panicked, and Mirror placed her hand just above her mouth to prevent herself from laughing out loud as she nodded towards him.

"Don't get it twisted or anything! I already told you earlier not to do that so don't," Error said as he crossed his arms, and Mirror just couldn't help but slightly widen the smile she already had on her face from this amusement.

"I get it, Error. You don't need to explain so much. It was just funny that you said it," Mirror said, as Error gave her a look.

He then looked away as they walked along, and then said,

"… Besides, what if you were my girlfriend? Those idiots would be dead instead of dumped."

"There's no need to go that far. But I do understand what you mean. Luckily for them, we're not together like that," Mirror said.

"Yeah… you're more of a noose on my neck," Error said as he smirked towards her when her brows furrowed.

"Anyway! Where are we headed for now, hm?" Mirror asked as a small smile played on her face.

"Uhh… Wait, I don't even know wher- Woman! Lead me!" Error said as he stopped walking to let her walk ahead of himself.

"Heeheehee. Alright, follow me, Error," Mirror said as she took the lead.

The two found the eatery and ordered the food to go since it was a bit crowded and Error didn't take kindly to crowds. They tasted the food and realized it was okay, though the chocolate puddling was actually very good, which made Error use a portal to take one from the shop without no one seeing and when Mirror looked away from him. They continued exploring the city and finding a few other food places to try their food until eventually they reached a roof where they could view the whole city alone, as Error brought chocolate bars for them from a small portal he created and closed quickly. They were talking about their hobbies as Mirror mentioned keeping a collection of glass ornaments in her storage room in a place called Serentime. Curious, Error questioned her further about it, as she explained the world she was fond of and it's way of blocking powers from being used.

"So this place… Serrentemp. Are you really unable to use your powers there? No magic or even determination? That's weird," Error asked.

"It's called Serentime, like mixing 'Serendipity' and 'time' into one word. The only person from that world is Mettatime, and he actually expanded it to let other wanderers or those without a home come in to have a place to hang out and have a good time, or to actually live. It's like a carnival world and it has all games and attractions, and then on the other side is where people can live in some buildings he made. I actually have a room of my own as I said, and yeah you have to ask his persmission and he can let you access your powers again. It's like the closer you are in, the less your powers work unless he allows it," Mirror explained.

"Asking permission to use my powers? Tsk, no thanks. I prefer to have full access," Error said.

"Aww, but Error it's cool. Sure your powers are really limited and you have to ask, buuuut you won't have to worry about anyone using their power against you. And Mettatime has rules about keeping things at peace and order, so you wouldn't have to worry about your powers anyway," Mirror said.

"… Hmm, so I can't hurt anyone, but I can't get hurt either… I might check out this place sometime just to see what it is," Error said.

"Yeah! And I'll go with you. I know the place really well and I can vouch that you'll be a good boy and control your grumpy aggression," Mirror said with a dear smile, as Error pouted.

He then noticed that she had one piece of chocolate in her hand, although he looked away quickly so that she wouldn't notice that he wanted it. But she did, and Mirror moved the chocolate towards him and asked,

"Ya want the rest of it dude? I'm pretty full now."

"You're sure?" Error asked, and Mirror nodded.

"Alright... but don't call me dude!" Error said, as he reached for the chocolate.

"Okay, I won't, guy," Mirror said, and Error narrowed his eyes.

As Error grabbed the piece of chocolate, his hand brushed on her hand. Mirror figured that he was going to flinch or back away from her, but he didn't as he ate the last piece of chocolate. She smiled towards him internally, and then looked in her backpack at her friend, noticing a friend left her a message.

"Well, looks like I'll have to meet up with a friend of mine. You know, even though we had a bit of a rough start, I had fun hanging out with you. You're actually pretty cool when your not all grumpy even second," Mirror said.

"… Really? Well to be honest… you're annoying," Error said, as Mirror's expression grew irritated.

"… But not annoying that I hate you or like… wouldn't want to hang out with you again if you wanted to," Error said as he was looking out towards the city.

"… Well, I should be available tomorrow after your friends kidnap you and all," Mirror said, her eyes shining a bit.

"My friends…? Oh yeah, he's coming back tomorrow… Sigh… I might come for you sooner if things go down or suck," Error said, making Mirror laugh.

"Alright, cool. I'll be wandering around this side of the universe if you're looking for me," Mirror said.

Error looked at her phone and then took his out,

"Just give me your number and I'll call you, alright?"

"Oh! Sure. I didn't realize you had a phone too. Show me your number," Mirror said, and then they exchanged numbers.

After exchanging numbers, Error opened a portal to head back to the anti-void, while Mirror opened a portal that lead to a forest.

"Are you sure you want to go back there again, Error? Don't want to step on your toes or anything, but it's pretty… empty," Mirror asked, before leaving.

"It's the only home I know really. No one really bothers me there... at least not much," Error said, with his eyes looking downward.

"Well, alright. I'll see you soon Error if things don't work out or suck," Mirror said.

"Heh. Yeah, see ya later, Mirror," Error said, and both of them went through their portals.
