No I did not forget about this. School is kicking my $$ and Pokémon has a new game...

So here this is. I will respond to the comments that are left by guests at the end of chapters, and directly to others when posable.

As always let me know what you thing, and now lets get started!

Outside world. Narrator POV.

The only sign that something was coming was the shifting of shadows on the forest floor and the rustling of leaves as they moved with an absent wind as the ninja raced among the leaves. They had to hurry. Orochimaru was leading the small retrieval team, as he was the only one who knew where they where going.

His death had changed him. The snake seemed more human when he had come back, as if dying had restored something he had lost. Like a piece of his soul had been returned and he was now whole again.

It had amazed him that any of the leaf ninja where ok with him leading like this, but he didn't have the time to question it. While Orochimaru was surprised that others noticed the Uchiha's strange behavior before leaving, he was even more surprised that out of everyone, it had been Naruto who had known what it meant. He had been the one to ask Orochimaru where Sasuke might have gone.

Once Tsunade had heard what was going on she had made it clear that while she would not assign anyone to help, as she couldn't ask anyone to risk themselves for the traitor, she wouldn't stop anyone that wanted to help.

Out of all their friends only Sai, Hinata, Neji, and Shino had offered to help.

Naruto had felt bad that Hinata was there. He had yet to respond to her confession. Neji was probably only there for her, no one ever knew what Sai was doing, and Shino….

Naruto had even less of an idea why he had volunteered but was still grateful. Shino's bugs would be a valuable asset.

Orochimaru was starting to look around nervously. He needed to be on high alert. If he wasn't careful he would lead them too close and then none of them would make it back. He brought the group down to the ground when the branches started thinning, signaling they were getting close.

Soon the trees where getting smaller than the rest, showing that they where new growth, unlike the rest of the forest. He waited a bit more before slowing them down. They needed to tread carefully now. He had no way of knowing the condition of the forest ahead of them.

"Is there a reason we are slowing down?" Neji questioned quietly, incase the snake had sensed enemies nearby or something.

"Yeah, I don't want to kill us." Orochimaru threw over his shoulder.

"First time for everything I suppose." Hinata quipped bitterly. The others just gave her a stunned look having not expected quiet little Hinata to have made such a biting remark.

"Yeah, well, seeing as I didn't even kill people this way, Id rather not die by it either." He said, steeping out of the brush and into a small clearing.

"This is the Field of White Flower," he said showing the view. The clearing held beautiful white lilies, swaying slightly on the breeze.

"You, the Legendary Snake Sannin, are afraid of a field of flowers?" Neji asked disbelievingly.

"Flowers? No. Poison? Yes. I was never able to make a cure for this. Hell, I'm not even sure how I made them in the first place. One of my sound ninjas found them growing after one of our hidden research labs was damaged in an earthquake. It killed him, and everyone else that got too close." He explained.

The others where wide eyed. Orochimaru was a master at poison, if he couldn't cure it…

"Then how are we supposed to get through them?" Hinata asked.

"We don't."

"Then we will go around?" she asked.

"Cant. They surround that forest, and that is where we need to be." He spoke.

"Then we go over." Sai said. He was already pulling his ink and scrolls out.

"I don't know if that will work or not. The flowers react to chakra, your paintings alone would trigger them if they got too close and we wouldn't even make it to the ground if we try to go through the trees on the other side." The snake explained.

His mind raced to think of a way in. The only one who stood a chance was Sasuke….

"If all of us can't get in, then what makes you think Sasuke could have by himself?" Neji asked.

"His eyes. They can control chakra, and the flowers have more than some people I know. They don't have any consciousness to fight so it would have been easy for him to make his way across." He explained, kneeling to inspect a footprint in the soft dirt. It was unmistakably Sasuke's.

"If you need a sharigan to get in, then how the hell are we supposed to get there?" Hinata asked angerly. "And why are they here? What possessed you to let them out in the open? What if they spread?"

"As dangerous as they are, they guard something even worse." He spoke. "Sasuke used his eyes to make sure they stayed here. We marked the soil around them with seals that had his chakra so even if he died, they would never be able to leave."

"Worse? Than these?" She quipped.

Orochimaru just nodded still kneeling by the tracks. While he knew it was a lost cause, part of him was still trying to thing of a way to get through, each idea worst than the last. The flowers where the easy part. Getting past them would be easy but in the forest beyond, was certain death. Only Sasuke had a chance of getting out and he had walked in willingly.

"Then what are we doing here?" Hinata snapped again. They all knew why she was so angry. The group had all been ignoring the elephant traveling with them, but it was clear to all of them, how unhappy she was to be here. But they also knew she would do anything for Naruto, even if it broke her.

Thinking of the fox had them all looking to him, but they soon realized he was nowhere in sight.

"Umm. Where did Naruto go?" Neji asked, shifting his eyes, to take a better look around. But the hyperactive blond was nowhere to be seen.

"Well, that cant be good." Shino said.

It was a few hours later that Naruto returned but he wouldn't say where he'd been or why he'd just decided to up and vanish. He began rummaging through Orochimaru's pack for something. The snake didn't even look over at him.

"So if we cant make it through because of the poison, wouldn't the best course of action be to destroy them?" Neji offered. "I mean they are just plants right? Can't we just burn them then? If we set them of fire, then we can stay far enough away from them to be safe, right?" Neji questioned.

"They don't burn." The snake said simply. "I've tried countless experiments on them. They don't burn, acid only made them change colors, and I even tried to recreate them thinking if I knew how they were made I could reverse the prosses and unmake them. Other than figuring out that the Sharigan could control them, all of it was useless." He said shaking his head sadly.

"And there is no cure." Orochimaru stated. "I've tried countless things to reverse it but nothing works."

Maybe you just need a little help. Maybe we could send a sample to Tsunade?" he suggested.

"No. Never mind the fact that just trying to get a sample without the proper help would kill you, there is nothing that can be done." The snake sighed. "These 'flowers'" he spat, "are the deadliest things I've ever seen. The poison doesn't affect the body, but your chakra. There is nothing in this world that crosses the blood/chakra barrier."

At the confused looks he explained further.

"Like your muscles, you have pressure points along your chakra network. The Hyuga use them to their advantage striking them to weaken enemies. The flower's poison works by blocking these points throughout your body"

"Now this by itself wouldn't be so bad, but it doesn't stop the flow of chakra. This causes a disruption. Now your body knows something is wrong but it doesn't know what, it doesn't realize that the flow is being blocked, so it tries to make more chakar to heal what's wrong, This builds the pressure in your chakra networks. Once it reached a certain point, your body becomes overloaded, goes into shock and then it stops producing chakra altogether. At that point your body just shuts down completely."

He understood the horrified look on their faces. It was one of the most painful ways to die that there is. His only saving grace was that the flowers where an accident. He had no idea how they came to be and his efforts to recreate them had all failed.

"If it's a flow problem wouldn't a Hyuga be able to reverse it?" Shino asked.

"One would think." The snake nodded. "But no. I've tried that too. He kept them alive for a bit longer, but it wasn't enough open the network. It just prolonged the process. It was actually thanks to that Hyuga that we found out what was happing in the first place. "

"So, Sasuke is a good as dead then? Then why are we still here? If we can't get in and he won't come out, then there's nothing we can do." Hinata stated. They all ignored the subtle hint of triumph in her voice.

"I had hoped we were fast enough to catch up to him before he made it past them, but don't think we did." Orochimaru said mournfully. "We should rest here for the night, and then return to Leaf tomorrow." he said, his eyes down cast. He had hoped to save Sasuke. Even knowing the chances were slim at best, he had still hoped.

They all expected Naruto to object or try to come up with more ideas to try but when they turned to him, he was gone once again, the snakes bag gone with him. This time they were extremely unsettled. He was not known for his stealth, but he had managed to disappear completely unnoticed twice and had taken the snakes things with him. They where also worried. They had no way of knowing how much he had heard.

The group had just settling into their bed rolls placed around the small fire when they noticed the shift in the atmosphere. A heavy feeling rolled over them like a wave. It was thick and made it hard to breath normally.

The two Hyuga activated their Byakugan immediately to see what, or who, was causing this, but it did them no good. The cloud of chakra was so thick it was blinding. They had to turn them off it they wanted to see anything at all.

The flowers reacted as the wave of energy wafted over them, the white petals began shimmering blood red as they swayed with the force of the wave. The sounds of petals and leaves brushing each other was like a whispered song that they danced to.

They looked like water. Wave after wave of red and white lit up the dark clearing in a steady rhythm, like the tide where it meets the beach. As the ninja watched the flowers rose further off the ground, growing taller so the petals could reach for the chakra in the air.

As transfixed by the changing colors as they where they nearly failed to notice the golden blur as it jumped from the trees onto the field. Naruto crouched in the flowers, the shimmering moving out from him like ripples in water.

Hinata felt like screaming but not a sound could come out of her. The others had all taken a step forward only to be stopped by Orochimaru. "Wait." He whispered. As they watched, the flowers seemed to ignore Naruto crouched within their mass of swaying blooms.

Naruto was creeping toward the forest on all fours, the ghost of a golden furred tail behind him. The waves of colored gathered around him, the red and white ripples following him, and he crept closer to the trees.

The closer he got the louder the flowers whispered. The wind made by chakra causing the flowers to sway faster. But even as the flowers got louder, they could not drown out the sound of hissing from the trees.

Dark green snakes, hanging from the branches of the trees, coiled as if reading to strike. As Naruto got closer still, they reached for him. Again the ninja tensed as if to spring into action, but where held firm by the snake.

The snakes reached for the golden shimmer in the flowers but immediately pulled back hissing. The flowers they had disturbed had let off a small red puff of pollen, and the snakes that had been touched by it had fallen limp from the trees and laid still on the ground.

As more dark figures reached for the flowers, the glow of gold and red illuminated them, showing that they where not snakes but vines.

Back and forth it went. The vines would reach, and the flowers would let off more pollen. The vines would wither as they hit the ground, with more seeming to materialize out of the darkness of the trees to take their place.

As more and more vines gathered near Naruto they wound themselves around each other, braiding themselves together making a larger mass to attack. The slithering mass of them reared back readying to strike when a blinding flash of gold light covered the clearing.

As the bright spots faded from the groups eyes, they saw a large cloud of red pollen floating into the woods. The vines hung limp and lifeless in the branches, and Naruto's gold light was nowhere to be seen.

"Is it just me or is anyone else wondering how he just did that?" Sai asked in the following silence. The others where too stunned to do more than nod.

That's all of that for now. I know a few things are different from the OG. Part of that is my style has changed and part is because I have more experience now. Just so you don't need to find the comments for yourself, and the ones who posted them know who i talking to, I have included them with my responses, and this format is what I will keep going foward.

you said this is a redone story but it is the firs time im rreading it so i hope you can update soon so far i like it and want to know what will happen

I plan to actually finish this one. The last one wasn't very well though out and had no ending so I had no idea where I was going. I have a lot more experience writing now, so even if it takes a while, I will keep going.

Ghost Asked:

so is the story going to be different this time, or are you just intending to give it an actual ending. So far it looks like you've managed to condense the first couple of chapters together.

Both. As I read what I had before I realized a lot of mistakes that I made with it. So while some of the details will be the same, a bit will change to represent my new style and experience. I'm not sure what all will be changed just yet, but I do know that it wont sound so childish like before.

WOW You are back I do remember this story but i didnt expet for you to keep on it its a pleasant surprise though i hope you keep going and i do appreciate the more detailed chapters

I really am back. I've grown up a lot since I started this story, and it shows. I am using the old work as a frame to build off of so a lot of the work is just upgrading the language and my style while adding the plot in. I never forgot them, I just wasn't in a place where I was ready to write publicly again. Or at least as public as this site gets anyway. But I plan to keep at it now.
