A drizzle of rain fell over the city, while a lone skeleton walked through it with his hands in his pockets and no umbrella at hand. But a wet suit was the least of his worries, for he had discovered something that broke his heart in two. His name was Sin, and he found out the lady goat he had grown fond of was married, and he felt betrayed and hurt. Although there wasn't much rain, it was comforting enough for him since it felt that even the clouds were showing sympathy towards him.
It all started when a new group came into town, although they were already known by word of mouth and rumors. However, when they came to the city and started buying properties and establishing themselves, that was when the rumored gang of legend became reality. Asgoro, the head of the 'organization' of the city, invited the leader of this new group to a meeting so that they could be properly introduced, and although the leader agreed to the meeting, they only appeared through the screen of a laptop with their face covered in darkness. Although he felt a little slighted, Asgoro decided to play it safe and speak to them anyway.
The gang was known as the Rosemallows, and each member wore a red rose as respect to their gang when necessary. They were also known to be quick about spilling blood, which is why a red rose with or without blood was used as their main symbol. Asgoro became aware of who they were the moment he met with their leader and noticed a brooch they wore on their suit with a red rose dripping of blood. The meeting became an argument when the leader wanted to take over a section of the city as a temporary base, and Asgoro denied them since he didn't want any more blood to be spilled in his town, since he had spilled blood for the sake of preventing it. But the two sides continued arguing, and then the leader slammed the table with their fist and proclaimed that Asgoro's cooperation would no longer be required. That they will now set their sights on the whole city to control, but Asgoro proclaimed that he will not let them have their way, and he kicked out the two Rosemallow members who brought the laptop with them, although injuring them pretty bad to show he was serious. This made the Rosemallow leader very angry, and they began finding all the information they could about Asgoro. Then they headed out to hunt down two people of whom he cherished: his wife Toriel who was separated from him, and his adopted child Frisk.
They weren't able to find Frisk, since the skelebros hide him away since the Rosemallows seemed only interested in taking him. As Papi and Sin took Frisk to a hidden place, Toriel was packing Frisk and her belongings when the Rosemallows raided the apartment she was in. They tied her up and put her in a chair with two gunners holding their guns to show her not to do anything foolish. Their leader entered the apartment, as Toriel's eyes widened to see her. She was tall, wore a navy-blue suit with thin green stitching as stripes and black short-heeled shoes, with the bloody rose brooch. Her blonde hair was tied in a bun under her navy blue fedora that was tilted more to one side of her head. Her eyes were golden-yellow, and she wore red lipstick and blue eye shadow that emphasized the glowing intensity of her eyes and attention to what she has to say.
She spoke to Toriel, introducing herself as Carolina Rosemallow, and that she was holding her hostage to lure Asgoro and kill him. She was brimming with calm confidence, as Toriel was shaken, and more so when Carolina mentioned that Asgoro would do anything for her especially after their first son was killed. Toriel begged for her to explain herself and what she knew about her deceased son, and Carolina's eyebrow raised. She then said that the only way Asgoro could have gained anything and protection of his family was if he survived initiation, as is the code of any gang when holding their own initiation, and that he found out in the last moment that his son would be killed for it. This revelation stunned Toriel as she began to cry, but her cries were too loud so they tied her mouth and carried her along to an abandoned factory. Sin returned to the apartment, and seeing that it was ransacked and Toriel was nowhere to be found, he took his revolver and went on the hunt to find her.
At the factory, Toriel was able to escape her imprisonment in another room, since it was a setup to get Asgoro to arrive and ambush him. As she ran to where he was, she came to a halt when she saw Carolina standing a few feet from a beaten up and kneeling Asgoro, as she held her revolver aimed at his forehead.
Asgoro screamed, "Why are you doing this?! For money?! For a piece of land?!"
Carolina answered, "It's not about just money and land! It's for my people back home who need the trade from the harbor! We had to get rid of the last gang who turned traitor by not selling us goods, so we got rid of them! Without that trade, our people are at risk! I'm not letting my people suffer and die, and I'd do what I must to protect them. You would understand it perfectly since you did the same when you killed those kids! It's the only reason you got control over this city. How ironic you had to kill to protect it, but such is life for us assassins huh?"
Asgoro was completely shocked to how she knew all of this, but understood the moment she revealed herself to also be an assassin. Feeling defeated and on the verge of tears, Asgoro lowered his head for the final bullet, but Toriel screamed out as she ran in and wrapped her arms around Agoro, protectively. Seeing that she was still alive and okay, Asgoro's tears came down as he held her in his arms. Toriel begged that her foolish husband be spared, as Asgoro begged for his dear wife to also be spared.
Annoyed by both of them and their ignorance that could have been avoided from the beginning, Carolina berated the two for their lack of communication and foolishness, as she decided to spare them because she saw them, in her opinion, too pathetic to kill. However, Carolina deemed it appropriate to at least have something to show as she shot Toriel in the leg. Although Asgoro was furious, Carolina explained that by doing so her gang and his gang can find peace with accepting Toriel back and Carolina being their fearless leader. Also, she made it known that she at least didn't kill her for the sake of peace instead of taking her life like what happened to their first son. So taking this into account, Asgoro and Toriel accepted this exchange with Carolina and quickly thanked her for mercy so that Asgoro could quickly bring Toriel to a hospital. Carolina left after them and made sure no traces of this incident was left in the factory with her people.
While being carried by Asgoro, whom she decided to reconcile with after this, Toriel noticed someone watching them from outside the window of the factory and knew it was Sin. Through this whole ordeal, she had almost forgotten him and when she was brought to the hospital, she sent a message to Sin with her phone on voice mail since he didn't answer. She admitted she was married, and that she was angry at Asgoro and wanted to separate from him, but when she was kidnapped she realized that Asgoro wasn't a cold, heartless man that she thought he was, and that she wanted to try and give him another chance, especially for all that he had given up for her and her child. Many times she apologized throughout the message, and she told him that he was a great person, and that she knows he will have a better life without her anyway considering her connection with Asgoro, his group, and especially now with the Rosemallows.
Leaving the factory from climbing down from outside, Sin walked another path with a heavy heart. He went all that way to try to save her, only to find out she was married and never told him. His mind was racing, and then he received her voice mail. By the end of hearing the voice mail, tears fell from Sin's eye-sockets, and then the rain came as he tucked his phone away and walked along the sidewalk. His soul felt torn and pained, and he walked for a long time through the city, not answering any phone calls to know that Papi brought Frisk back to his parents and that he was wondering where he was. Sin needed this time alone and to take out his stress, as he continued walking and walking for hours and hours.
The rain cleared and Sin realized he had been walking the whole night when the sun came out from beyond the horizon. With his heart finally calm and his head clear, he sent a message to his brother to ease his worry and that he was heading home. As Sin was walking through the streets, more and more people were appearing, and it bothered him a bit to see couples walking by, but not so much as it would have the night before. He started noticing that some people were looking at him, as a man handed him some money.
'Do I really look that much of a bum with wet clothes?' Sin thought as he looked at his clothing, but then he realized that climbing through the dingy factory dirtied his suit and tore it in some places.
He then began searching for a clothing store to find a new suit.
This poor skeledude...
