And here's part 2, the last part for this story.
Sin found an apparel shop to get a new suit since he didn't want his brother to grow concerned when he returned home. He found a clean suit with a navy blue vest, black pants, and a black long-sleeve shirt underneath the vest. After paying for the new uniform, he browsed the store a little longer since they had nice stuff and he may return back for another one.
"M'lady, please make a selection, we've been in here for a while now," a voice said, as Sin couldn't help but over hear it since he was nearby.
"I'm sorry, it's just these clothes are quite nice. I wanted to see more so that I could return to buy another dress," a sweeter voice replied, as Sin found it odd that this person said what he thought.
He walked a little closer to get a better view of the two talking, and he noticed one was a rabbit monster in a black dress that reached her ankles with a small white jacket on top, a small feathered black hat over her straight black hair, and a small white handbag. The other more human girl wore a dark purple tube dress up to her knees with black leggings and a black net long sleeve shirt underneath, a short dark purple scarf around her neck, and her hair was up in a high bun with her long bangs laying on the sides of her face. Two pink long pins held her hair up in a bun, as a hibiscus pin held up the longer and larger portion of her bangs. Sin's eye sockets widened a little when he saw the girl's deep pink eyes that faded to green as it reached the outer part of the iris, with dark purple eye shadow and black eye liner that made them stand out a little more.
"Well, we'll have time to look when we return, M'lady," the female bunny said.
"Okay, but just a few more minutes, please. I can't decide on what lipstick and gloves to wear," the girl said as she held a few selections of lipsticks and gloves.
"Alright. Just quickly make a selection, we don't have too much time to dawdle," the female bunny said as she headed to the register.
The girl was looking at her selections as she placed them on a tall table nearby.
"What to do, what to choose…" the girl said out loud.
"Do you need some help, Ms?" a voice asked, as she turned to see Sin.
"Oh! Well, yes I do. Do you… happen to work here?" the girl asked, and Sin shook his head.
"Nah, I'm just browsing like you are, but it seems like you're in a dilemma so I thought I'd help out before going," Sin admitted, and the girl smiled.
Her smile was contagious, as Sin felt himself smiling, although he figured he wouldn't have been able to so quickly after what occurred the day before.
"That's nice of you. What is your name, kind sir?" the girl asked.
"Sin. Sin the Skeleton. And who do I have the pleasure of meeting?" Sin asked, with a slight bow of his head.
"My name is Cortina. It's nice to meet you too, Sin," Cortina replied with an outstretched hand.
Sin shook her hand as he couldn't help but find her voice to be sweet to listen to. Then they turned their attention to the items before them.
"Which do you think is best? I have blue, red, and black lipstick. I also have white, and black gloves. Which pair fits with me?" Cortina asked.
"Hmm, you got a good selection there… I'd say black gloves and black lipstick," Sin replied.
"Really? I wasn't sure if I should go dark, or have a pop of color," Cortina said, as she picked up the black gloves and black lipstick.
"That seems closer to your theme in clothing, and it'll also help your beautiful eyes to stand out more," Sin said.
"Awww, thank you. I think I'll go along with these two," Cortina said, as Sin realized what he said.
"W-Well, I'm glad I could help you, Cortina. Hopefully you'll be happy since you'll look good- I mean, not that you don't, you look lovely already, but I'm sure you'll look extra good- I mean, not that you look beautiful- I mean! Not that you aren't! You're gorgeous, it's just this will add to it, if you… know what I mean?" Sin said, feeling his cheeks heat up, and a lightness in his head.
"Oh my… heeheehee. I understand, Sin. Thank you very much. You're sweet," Cortina said, with a smile.
"Heh. Heh. That's good. I don't want you to think I'm weird or anything. I mean, we just met and I do think you're pretty and should be as lovely you seem to be, so I wanted to help. I think a sweet girl like you should be just as sweet as you are, always. It wouldn't be fair for ya to be sad or hurt because of someone else, but me… nah, I deserve what heartache comes my way because I'm not good enough, or maybe I draw in the wrong attention. I don't knooow… maybe I'm overthinking, but maybe I'm not… maybe I'm just a fool who loved the wrong person or a fool for loving at all… maybe I should just give up… give up on everything," Sin said, his head bothering him more as he spoke.
"... Sin… I don't know what happened exactly to you… but you shouldn't give up like this. Maybe you feel you should because your heart is hurting from whom ever you speak of, but you shouldn't deprive yourself of your own happiness, or potential happiness. Besides, do you have a family? Or something you love to do? Maybe you should focus on what you have, instead of what you loss for now. Even if you may think you have nothing left, you still have your life too, and I can say that I care about you," Cortina said with concern, as she softly placed her hand on his shoulder.
"Ah. I see… yeah. I still have my brother… and the kid likes me… and maybe my father won't be upset with me… and it's not like I can't just be friends with her so… heh, yeah. Thanks Cortina, I needed to hear that, I think… yeah, I did," Sin said as he smiled at her, and she smiled back as she moved her hand back.
"You know, Cortina… your pins and eyes match… heh heh. Did you do that… on.. pur..." Sin couldn't finish his sentence as he collapsed on the ground.
"Oh my gosh! Sin!" Cortina yelled in fright, and she called out for help as her bunny friend, Rin, immediately ran over to help her.
Tick tock:
Waking up was hard, as Sin felt pain around his eye sockets and his head. He slowly sat up, as he felt his head spinning a little, but it stopped after a little bit. When his vision came into focus, his eye sockets widened when he noticed he was surrounded by a few guys in suits with guns in their hands.
"Hey bud. You're finally awake. Hopefully we didn't scare you with our guns. It's just protection for you and us since we've been watching over ya," One of the guys said.
"What's going on? Where am I?" Sin asked.
"Don't worry about where. You fainted in a clothing store, and then you were sent here after being diagnosed with exhaustion," Another guy replied.
"… Oh yeah, I stood up all night walking," Sin said, recalling what happened to him.
"I heard you fell like a log. Bruised your head there," Another dude said, and Sin felt the bandages on the side of his head.
"Huh… wait, where is the girl who was in the store with me?" Sin asked, realizing that she may be in danger considering these gunmen.
"Don't worry, you're going to meet her now," The first guy said, as he opened the door of the room.
Sin was led by one guy in front of him and the other two behind, but they put a blind fold on him as they led him through to a different room of the place. They removed the blindfold and Sin saw that he was in a large room with a fireplace, shelves of books and files on one wall, and a desk and chair in front of a large window with green curtains. He noticed most of the room was red or some shade of it with a mix of black and green, and then his eyes widened when he saw a woman in a navy blue suit and fedora standing while looking out the window. She turned around and said,
"So our sleeping beauty is awake huh? Good. I've been wanting to talk to you actually, and I hope you don't mind if I took a peep at your phone. I wanted to be sure you weren't a spy or something."
"… Well, it's not like I had much of a choice in the matter. So are you in charge here?" Sin asked.
"Of course. My name is Carolina Rosemallow," Carolina said, and Sin stiffened with widened eyes.
"Seems you've heard of me from your expression, but considering that message Toriel left you, that must be where you heard of me," Carolina said with a smug smile, and Sin's pupils disappeared as he felt angry but mostly embarrassed that she heard the message.
"Interesting. She was about to get over Asgoro, but I seemed to have restored their marriage… freaking weird, but whatever. So that was the one who broke your heart huh? Well, I think you're both better off considering this situation. Besides, I'm sure your father will feel better knowing that you're in our capable hands since he does owe our group a favor," Carolina said, as she took Sin's phone from her pocket and gave it to someone who was sitting on the large swivel chair with the back faced towards him.
"Well, thank goodness for that… So, this must be your base. That explains the blindfold and suits with guns… but not why you're holding my phone captive," Sin said, as his eyes narrowed in suspicion.
"I think you should focus on being thankful we didn't leave you the store. I'm sure you're brother would have been very worried if he had to go to the hospital to find you," Carolina said.
"… Okay. About my brother, you didn't do anything to him, right?" Sin asked, more seriously.
"He's not dead or injured. Just because we're tough doesn't mean we're going to beat up every darn body we meet. We're not crazy," Carolina said, as she placed one hand on her hip.
"Ah, alright. I was just making sure," Sin said, and then he felt a chill when he heard a sweet voice say,
"Don't worry, Sin. I wouldn't let anything bad happen to you or your brother."
Sin stared at the chair, as it turned around to reveal Cortina sitting on the chair with his phone in her hand and a kind smile on her face.
"C-Cortina… what is-why are you sitting-what is happening?" Sin asked, growing flustered.
"Heehee~ Surprised, huh? Well, Carolina is my mom. Not my natural mom, but she adopted me, so I consider her my mother," Cortina explained.
"O-Oh, I see. Does that mean you're part of the Rosemallows too?" Sin asked.
"Well, yes and no. I know what's going on and how to run things and stuff, but Carolina mostly leaves me out of business," Cortina replied.
"I'd rather have her dresses clean, on contrary to my suits, if you catch my drift," Carolina said, as she showed her revolver and Sin completely understood what she was saying.
"Yeah, she doesn't want me too involved for safety, which I indeed respect," Cortina added.
"Yeah, I understand… so, why did you bring me here though?" Sin asked.
"Well you seem to have left an impression on my daughter. So instead of shooting ya, I'm giving you an option," Carolina said, as Sin's eyes widened and he looked towards Cortina, who smiled and waved at him.
"Go on, Cortina," Carolina said.
"Sin, I was wondering if you'd like to go for dinner sometime? I mean, this may be an odd situation, considering what you just found out and all, but meeting you in the store and all… I guess I couldn't get you out of mind, and when you fainted I got so worried… I don't usually worry like that for people, especially for someone I just met… I guess I like you," Cortina said, as her cheeks heated up a little.
"…" Sin was shocked, not only from this whole experience in the last few days, but also because of how adorable Cortina was as she explained how she felt about him.
"If you don't feel the same, then that's okay. But I just wanted to let you know how I feel an-"
"I accept."
The room was suddenly empty, as only Sin and Cortina were there. Their gazes fixed on one another, a light returning to Sin's eyes as Cortina's eyes seemed to grow a little brighter. Sin smiled at her softly, as Cortina did the same to him.
"I've been through a lot, and these couple of days have been… hectic. Especially after what happened with Toriel… I meant what I said in the store. I had a long time to think that night I walked alone, and time to grieve over it… you were right, my heart was hurt and I wanted to give up so that I wouldn't feel that pain again, but… if I try to shield myself, I'll only be hurting myself more, and… eh, what the heck. You're a sweet girl, and if I could get through that pain alive, then I can get through anything, and protect you from it and anyone," Sin said.
"Sin… you're noble, you know. And even though you know who I am and my family, you aren't scared of me… I shall do the same for you too," Cortina said.
They exchanged sincere smiles, and then Carolina snapped them out of their own reality as she said,
"Okay! Calm down you two! Save all that for if you two make it to the altar, but for now it's just dating… supervised by me of course."
"Mother!" Cortina said with a giggle.
"You're still my child, and we don't know him yet," Carolina said.
"Thanks for not shooting me. I won't let that go to waste," Sin said with a grin.
"Yeah, yeah, just don't forget it," Carolina said with a half smile.
Okay! Another story posted. Now for... oh geez... Horrortale.
