Yee, finally done. I delayed a bit with this one because I had too many ideas and needed time to sort out which I preferred.
Welp, enjoy!
tap tap tap
"What?!" the girl in the ragged purple dress and messy brown hair yelped as she nervously turned around upon hearing the rapid taps approaching her direction.
Tap Tap Tap Tap
She began to tremble as the tapping came closer and closer, and she pushed her brown hair behind her ears so that it wouldn't deter her vision if she had to run away.
TAP TAP TAP TAP TAP POOF!
A quick flash and a small hill of snow puffed up from someone diving into it, as the girl backed away from it at first.
'What is this… another trap?' The girl thought, but she decided to inspect it anyway since it seemed to not be moving.
'What could be in there? Is it alive? Or is it dead?' The girl thought as she stood a few feet from the pile of snow.
Then she noticed two small holes in the puff as she leaned her head lower to look at it, and her eyes widened to see two glowing eyes, one of red and one of yellow, appear from within the holes. As quick as those eyes appeared, the creature within the puff sprung forth and tacked the girl on the ground, her back slamming on the ground. She was only momentary dazed, but her eyes widened in fear and surprise to the lady who's foot was now on her stomach looking down at her.
The lady wore a black shirt and black leggings with a jean jacket and jean skirt over them, and black boots with spikes on the bottom that were pinching the girl's stomach. The lady's black hair with purple tips was in a ponytail that spiked like a halo on the back of her head, along with her bangs that spiked mostly downward on her cheeks, and she had two fangs poking out of her mouth. Both of her eyes were yellow with purple rings in the center of the irises, and a scar of three slashes over one of her eyes.
After a moment of silence, the girl could feel the lady's cleat-boots dig into her stomach as she felt bits of blood pooling the indents around each spike.
"Interesting. A human. Hehehehe. You shouldn't have been playing around here, girl. You don't know what dangers lie ahead, or…" the lady said, and she raised her arm up to show a red chainsaw as she pulled the cord to start it.
"Above you. Hehehehe-HAHAHAHAHA!" the lady laughed, as the rise in tone of her laughter matched the exact moment she brought down her chainsaw from the girl's right shoulder to under her left arm.
The girl's screech continued a moment longer after her upper body was sliced as blood sprayed out of the gash, and then there was silence... and darkness.
...
A few moments later, the girl's eyes opened and she was back on the trail she was walking on a few minutes ago. She looked around in panic, and seeing that no one was there, she breathed out a sigh of relief.
tap tap tap
"Oh no!" the girl in the ragged purple dress and messy brown hair said as she turned in fear upon hearing the rapid taps approaching her direction.
Tap Tap Tap Tap
She began to tremble as the tapping came closer and closer, and she began to run.
TAP TAP TAP TAP TAP TAPTAPTAPTAPTAPTAP BOOM!
A quick flash and the girl was on the ground, this time on her stomach as the lady she saw before had her foot on her back.
"Where are you off to in such a hurry? Huuuuh, interesting. A human. Hehehehe. You seem afraid. Was it I who scared you?" Amusement lacing the lady's words.
"Y-Y-Y… D-Don't kill me!" The girl managed to say as she shook.
"Woah woah there. Who said I was going to do that now?" the lady said, as she picked up the girl's head by her hair to look at her face.
"I-I just thought… everyone k-keeps trying to in some way," the girl said, her eyes widened in pain and terror from her spine being arched back to look up at the lady.
"Well well, you seem already familiar with how it is down here. You must have seen a lot of torment and horror to have such frightened eyes as these," A smirk forming on the lady's face as she added,
"Would you like me to help you?"
"… Y-Yes, I would, very much," a small slither of hope shining in the girl's eyes.
"Okay then," the lady brought forth her long claws from her free hand and chopped the girl's head off.
...
A few moments later, the girl's eyes opened and she was back on the trail she was walking on a few minutes ago. She looked around in panic, and seeing no one there, she still felt afraid.
tap tap tap
Instead of fear, the girl in the ragged purple dress and messy brown hair felt more determined to live.
This time, in the same situation as the last one while the lady held her by her hair, the girl decided to decline the lady's offer.
"Oh really? You think you can last out here?" the lady asked with a raised eyebrow.
"… I've made it this far," the girl replied with a more serious expression.
"Hmmm, alright then," the lady said as she released the girl's hair and took her foot off of her back.
"I like your spunk, girl, and considering what I passed by earlier… I guess you have some skills of survival. Still a little weak though, I could smell a bit of your blood, sweat, and tears on the trail," the lady said, placing her hands in her jean pockets, as the girl realized that the lady was actually tracking her.
"Y-Yes. It's been hard, especially when everyone is trying to eat me," the girl said, as the lady's eyebrows raised a bit more.
"Oh yeah. Weird huh? They're down here trying to eat the few people who fall, yet if they took one soul, they could have a banquet upstairs. Although with so many people up there I don't suppose they would last," the lady said with a chuckle, as the girl was surprised by her calm response.
"I suppose that's why they haven't gone up there, but it seems like there's more going on… but I really just want to go home," the girl said, her expression dropping.
Suddenly the lady's hand grabbed the girl's face by her chin as she almost lifted her above ground.
"You reeeeeeeally want to go home?" the lady asked, and although the girl was scared of answering her question, she did so firmly,
"Yes."
"Well then…" the lady said as she let go of the girl's face.
"You'll need to learn how to survive then. You can't just let anyone grab you so easily as I just did, or you'll be mince meat in no time. Poor, poor you. Still so young to be forced into surviving a place like this, but maybe watching you live will be more interesting… or die, whichever one is more interesting I suppose," the lady said with a shrug of her shoulders, as the girl frowned a little more.
"Well, stay in game, girl. Hopefully, I get to see you make it to the end," the lady said, patting the girl's back, with an ambiguous smile.
"Thanks… my name is Aliza," the girl, Aliza, revealed for the sake of befriending the lady so that history may not repeat itself.
"Aliza eh? Huh, I kind of thought it'd be something else… All well. Name's Curtain," the lady named Curtain said, and the two shook hands.
"Seems like you've been through this before," Curtain said, as she noticed how shaken Aliza's hand was even before their hands made contact.
"Well, the first monster I encountered out here was... unexpecting," Aliza replied, as she rubbed her bandaged hand a bit.
"Oooo, he must be quite smart to get you like that. What's his name?" Curtain asked, hiding a smirk.
"Sans the skeleton," Aliza replied.
"Ooo, that's an interesting name," Curtain said as her eyes flicked to the side for a moment.
"Yours is too. It's strange almost," Aliza bit her lip when she noticed Curtain's eyes darken a bit.
"Is my name odd to you?" Curtain asked in a deeper voice, as Aliza felt her body grow cold.
"N-No, it's fine! I just never heard someone called th-" Aliza was cut off when Curtain said,
"Then call me Rive! It's even more distinguishable."
Aliza breathed out when she realized that Rive's smile was more genuine then angry.
"A-Ah. Okay, Rive," Aliza smiled, and she nodded.
"Well, best to you, Aliza! Try not to die too soon!" Rive said, and she started walking the opposite way Aliza was heading.
"Phew, made it… maybe she isn't so bad after all," Aliza breathed out, and when she saw that Rive was gone from view, she continued onward.
'How familiar. But they're not the same…' Rive thought, as she turned around and headed in another direction.
Eventually Rive came to Snowdin Town, as a few monsters scurried away upon seeing her while she sharpened her claws on a knife she carried.
She looked up and noticed someone approaching her, as she could see that he was intent on meeting her by his fixed gaze. His blue sweater had a few faded red spots on it as his white under shirt was the same, and a part of his skull was cracked opened above his left eye-socket that held a red, glowing iris. He walked closer and closer to her without a hint of stopping, as she did the same while holding her knife downward. The skeleton then pulled out his meat cleaver from his inner sweater pocket as he brought it down to his side. They slowed down in their walk with fixed gazes on one another, and then they sprung forward as a clash of metal on metal echoed while they held their weapons firm. Their gazes locked in a battle of wits, until the glow of his eye and the red glow on her one eye faded away, and their expressions softened to the best of their abilities.
"You seem a bit more stressed than usual. I assume the girl came through already?" Rive asked.
"Ah, so you did see her. I assumed you didn't since she's still well… alive," Sans, known as Horror, said, as they both lowered their weapons.
"Well, I got to hand it to her, she's a tough little lass. Still floppy as a fish, but she has quite a determination to live. I wouldn't let that potential go to waste, as you know," Rive flashed a slightly crooked smile, as Horror's eyes narrowed a bit.
"What? You fear the little one? You? Oh no, not you, sweets," Rive said with a playful smirk, as she gently stroked his cheekbone with her hand.
Horror grabbed her hand, and with a smirk he rubbed his thumb gently on her palm while saying, "Of course I'm not scared of her. If anything, I was more worried about you. The forest is a dangerous place, you know."
"Oh my dear, you know I'm much scarier than anything loose in there right?" Rive said as her eye flickered red for a moment.
"I know. That's what concerns me, babe. Can't have you becoming worse than what's already there," Horror said, and he used his meat cleaver as a mirror for Rive to look through at herself.
Rive calmed herself as the red glow faded from her eye, "Alright alright. You've made your point, sweets."
"Well, you have more control of it, so that's a good sign," Horror said, as he brought her hand up to his teeth in a kissing notion.
"Hm… And how about you?" Rive asked, her smile turning to a small frown, as Horror's eyes slightly widened.
"Sweets, you don't eat like I can. I can eat anything from meat and veggies to flowers like the Echo flower to even pieces of tree branches although it's not very tasty. But I also don't need much, and even though they gained an appetite for humans… you haven't eaten at all, have you?"
Horror looked downward with a slightly annoyed frown, as Rive could sense his response from the silence.
"Don't worry about me, babe. I can handle it. I don't got the guts to do something drastic," Horror finally said with a wink, and Rive smirked.
She planted a kiss on his cheekbone, as he released her hand and stroked her cheek. Then Rive placed her knife near her neck and winked as she said, "Behave yourself, my love."
Horror's smile widened as he winked and placed his meat cleaver near her neck and said, "I should be telling you that, my dear."
The two then lowered their weapons, as Rive went along the rooftops, while Horror went along to Grillby's bar.
Hmmm… I've been thinking of writing the original timeline, but considering it's length, it would need it's own space. So, would you guys be interested in reading the original story of the stories of Multiverse exchange and Deathly exchange? With the first Curtain, Sans, Frisk, and everyone?
Let me know, and see ya soon for the next story here which will be… Flowerfell.
