Legend of the Sword Dancer: Seed of Conquest and Strife
Arthur waited for Emilya at a place near the Mailliart Lands. He was currently with his Wind Dragon Familiar, of which he still have not named over the years since his Summoning Ceremony.
He was surprised to see two figures approaching him, the light of this worlds twin moons was enough to determine that the two were almost at the same height. And he could already tell who the other one was.
"Lord Marcillac," Karin greeted.
"Miss Mailliart." Arthur nodded before looking at Emilya.
"She might have noticed me secretly getting ready for this." Emilya admitted.
"Lord Marcillac please allow me to help," Karin said. "I have been training for a while now."
"Karin," Arthur replied. "There is a difference between the battlefield and the training grounds. I do not think that any amount of training you have done would be enough."
"But you are letting my sister go with you!?" Karin asked. "She has been training with me ever since she became my sister!"
"Karin-"
"Is that not enough!?"
After letting Karin cool down a bit, Arthur then finished his statement.
"-there is more to Emilya than you know."
"Karin," Emilya then said. "This is not the training grounds, if this ends up with a battle, I do not want you to get hurt. Please, just go back."
Albion agreed with their plan. They sent a small fleet of Airships to Tristain, and Arthur once more shared Emilya's plan of attack. And it was already no surprise to him how the Nobles who came reacted, since he already expected the same reaction like how his fellow Tristanian did.
"Your plan has flaws Sir Marcillac," one of the Albionians commented. "Why are you so desperate to destroy this Artifact so badly?"
Arthur looked around the gathered Nobles before giving his answer. "Sir Volstag, this Artifact is not to be taken lightly. Powerful as it may be this would only cause trouble in the future."
"Explain."
Arthur repeated his words from the council he attended in Tristania. The gathered Nobles were curious about Arthur's reasons. Once the explanation was done, the Albionian Fleet was convinced and agreed to follow Arthur with his plan.
And when the meeting was done, Arthur left the group and went to meet Emilya. Currently, she is wearing an altered version of Archer EMIYA's attire, fit to tailor her more feminine figure. Currently she is contemplating to wear a mask or helmet because both could hinder her vision.
"They agreed with your plan Shirou," Arthur said. "I'll provide an opening in the skies, snipe it down at the right moment."
"Thanks Arthur." Emilya said.
"You should go with Ana when we move out." Arthur said. "I have told him that a Noble will be coming with them should they encounter trouble."
Arthur noticed the mask and helm. "You could always just alter the helm or lift the visor when you are about to shoot, the mask would be the less practical choice."
"Yeah," Emilya agreed. "The mask would be more troublesome."
"Something is bothering you." Arthur noted.
"I just started a possible battle, or war, against a group of people just to destroy this Fragment," Emilya admitted. "This is my plan to begin with, and if any of those who agreed to the plan I gave dies-"
"You feel like you are responsible for their lives." Arthur said.
"Not very heroic isn't it?" Emilya asked. "I just want to get this over with and start trying to uncover my missing memories."
"It's not as bad as what I have done in my past life." Arthur noted. "But since we are on the topic of heroes-"
"No," Emilya interrupted. "I do not want to be a Hero, I want to be able to protect those who I care for."
The plan was executed without any major hiccups, Arthur and the other Nobles of the Knights of Round managed to get close enough. Ezra and Severus lead the Basilisk and Griffin Knights around the Lagdorian Lake to get behind the enemy. The Musketeers of the Knights of Round led by Ana were hidden from view, using the forest nearby as cover.
That was until one of the Albion Airships fired at the Galleon without warning, then all hell broke loose. Quickly Arthur mounted his dragon and flew towards the engaging enemy riders. He looked down and scanned the ground. He could see the Knights and the other Groups engage the enemy. The Musketeers firing at a distance, Ana and Emilya both manage to hit enemies far further than the rest.
He then saw a red streak of light fly from Emilya's position before impacting the Galleon. Both gathered armies stopped, and looked at the direction of the Galleon. When the smoke has cleared, he noticed a green barrier formed around the Galleon, protecting it from what Emilya just fired.
He quickly made his way towards the Albion Fleet before landing on the deck.
"What have you done!?" Arthur asked.
He noticed that the crew were pinning two people on the floor, he noticed another person was carefully being treated nearby. He looked at the commanding officer, silently asking what happened.
"Spies," the commanding officer said. "Both of them attacked on of the Canoneers, and aimed at one of our own fleet. We were lucky that I sent Sir Percy below deck to give orders, and he managed to overpower the two traitors."
"The plan has gone south because of this," Arthur stated. "Right now I ask you to distract the enemy long enough for me to find an opening to destroy the Galleon."
"Opening?" asked the commanding officer.
"One of my Knights fired a spell and hit the Galleon," Arthur explained. "But a strange barrier is formed around it, protecting the Galleon form the attack."
The commanding officer looked around the ship, many were shocked by Arthur's revelation. Even the Nobles aboard had a look of surprise in their faces.
"Sir Marcillac," the commanding officer asked sternly. "Are you confident you can truly destroy it?"
"Yes." Arthur replied. "But I will need to time it right. For now hold your grounds, I will need to spread the word to my fellow Tristanians first."
Emilya let out a sigh as the attack she sent towards the Galleon did nothing. She noticed the look of awe in Ana's face when she [Traced] her bow and a pitch black twisted sword.
"The [Barrier] can withstand [Hrunting]," Emilya sighed. "Of course that thing is Alien and Magic in nature, why would it not have that kind of defense."
"Sir Emiya?" Ana asked.
Emiya... Arthur and Emilya came up with another name for Emilya's disguise, and settled with Emiya. The only information Arthur gave the Knights of Round that "he'" was an ally and a strong mage. The Knights were skeptical because of the vague introduction, but after bribing Ezra to spy on Arthur and Emiya, they just concluded that Sir Emiya and Arthur knew each other for quite a while.
Emilya then saw Arthur fly towards the Albion Ariship that fired. And immediately noticed a group of soldiers getting close to the Musketeers.
"Sir Ana," Emilya commanded. "Move the Musketeers back, and take shots when there is an opening. I'll distract the enemy, and try to get close to the battleground."
"Can you handle yourself Sir Emiya?" Ana asked.
Emilya did not answer, and only [Traced] a red spear before engaging the enemy.
"I'll take that as a yes." Ana muttered. "Damn Nobles..."
"Men!" he then called out. "Fall back and get some distance between yourselves and the enemy."
He did a one last look at the battle between Emilya and the enemy. He could see that the disguised Emiya fighting with a spear, with the ferocity and movement of a beast. With each strike Emilya made, an enemy fell, but could see that the enemy kept coming. Then he saw the spear glow red, and an aura surround it. He saw Emilya jump high, and throw the spear towards the enemy. The spear impacted and a large enough explosion, that blew the wind back towards him, annihilated everything within.
"Damn Nobles." he once more muttered before going full retreat.
Emilya carefully weaved through the battlefield, and headed straight towards the majority of the battle. But along the way, she encountered a group of retreating Tristanians lead by the Basilisk Commander.
"Where are you going!?" he shouted. "Fall back and regroup!"
She then looked at the direction where they came from and noticed someone left fighting.
"You left someone behind!" Emilya shouted back.
"That Wind Mage is stubborn!" the Basilisk Commander replied. "Doesn't listen to orders, or form ranks."
Quickly she made a detour towards the said Wind Mage, she noticed that the Wind Mage is yet to use any lethal attacks or spells. While the mage was indeed skilled, it would only bite the mage back if the mage doesn't finish the enemy. The mage was busy dealing with an enemy, unable to notice one already preparing to cast a spell behind the mage. Emilya quickly [Traced] a mundane sword, and sent it flying towards the enemy mage. The Wind Mage turned around and only saw a man impaled by a sword, and halted her actions, another lethal error. Once more, swords were flying towards the enemy, while the mage only stood still.
"Two things to consider if you are in a battlefield," Emilya said. "One is to make sure your enemy doesn't get up after you attack. The other is to not freeze in the middle of a battle."
"I didn't ask for your help." the Wind Mage said.
Emilya saw the drawn swordwand, and immediately knew who the Wind Mage was.
"Karin," Emilya said. "Why?"
"Wh-what do you mean Karin," the now revealed Karin stuttered. "I don't know any Karin here."
"I thought I told you not to come?" Emilya asked.
"You what?" Karin replied, before realizing who she was talking to. "Emilya?"
They both noticed another group of Conquistador Soldiers arrived, and readied themselves.
"I'll provide cover," Emilya said. "Follow the trail of the Basilisk Knights and run."
"I can help!" Karin insisted.
"Unless you can bring yourself to kill, you will only be a liability." Emilya said grimly. "If you can steel your heart and resolve, then help. If not hide and discard that armor, then go home."
Emilya then [Traced] the same red spear she used a while ago, and began to once more engage the enemy. While she fought, she saw her sister run along the trail left by the Basilisk Knights.
Karin followed the path of the Basilisk Knights and managed to catch up with them, but to her surprise, they are once more fighting. She quickly hid herself in one of the rocks, and scanned the ongoing battle. She saw one of the Knights got hit with a large [Fireball] and got blasted towards her location. She saw one of the airborne enemy, a mage mounting a griffin, about to cast another spell towards the fallen knight. Emilya's words echoed through her thoughts.
She ran out of her hiding spot and placed herself between the fallen Knight and the enemy. Her anger from being looked down by her sister and Arthur was redirected towards the enemy.
[Heavy Wind!]
She cast the spell she has secretly been developing to beat Emilya one day. A raging storm of sharp wind and rocks was fired towards the Airborne enemies blasted and scattered about before falling one by one.
"The wind will always answer to you, your emotions determine how powerful your spell will be." her mentor Sir Venti once said to her. "You might even surpass me one day if you keep practicing."
"Mage!" the Basilisk Commander called out. "What are you still doing? There is a wounded ally next to you!"
Karin was snapped back into reality, and immediately cast a [Levitation] spell on the fallen mage. She was guided to one of the Water Mages, and one of them immediately began to heal the fallen mage.
Suddenly, Arthur Marcillac landed to where they were and began conversing with the Basilisk Commander. She managed to overhear their conversation, but it only made her worry.
"There were spies in one of the Albion fleet," Arthur said. "They were planning on firing the cannons at the Albion Fleet."
"If there were spies in Albion," the Commander stated. "They would probably have some within Tristain as well. Not to mention, the enemy is much larger than what we anticipated."
"I have noticed as well." Arthur replied.
"Your Spy Master is at fault here Sir Marcillac," the Commander said. "I knew the words of the Commoner was not to be trusted."
"I have already interrogated Ezra," Arthur explained. "Severus administered a small dose of a potion he concocted called [Veritaserum], a Truth Serum as Severus described, Ezra was already questioned, he is not at fault here."
"Then how do you explain the number of Mages and Soldiers this Conquistadors had gathered in a short time?" the Commander demanded.
"My Lords," the disguised Karin interrupted. "The Mage who attacked the one I brought here was riding a Griffin."
"Impossible," the Basilisk Commander said, realizing what the disguised Karin was implying. "Sir Griffith would never betray Tristain!"
"Yet where are the Griffin Knights?" Karin asked. "They should have helped the moment the battle began."
"Do you question my words Knight?" the Basilisk Commander asked. "I have been with Sir Griffith for a long time, I know where his loyalties lie."
"The Knight has valid point Sir Salazar," Arthur said. "And all I see here are the Basilisk Knights."
"Why you-"
"Lord Marcillac!" a Knight wearing the Knights of Round insignia suddenly interrupted. "The Galleon is on the move!"
Arthur then turned towards the direction of the Galleon, and manage to spot the now arriving disguised Emilya. He could see that she was also facing the direction of the Galleon.
"We will have another time for this discussion," Arthur said. "For now, we regroup with the Knights of Round. I'll send Severus and his apprentices to help with the wounded."
POST CHAPTER NOTES:
To answer/reply to some recent reviews:
1. FYI, there is this Art I saw posted once about a "Genderbent Cu and EMIYA", both are loli's for some reason.
2. No there there is no Genderbent Cu in this Fic.
3. If I say Girl x Girl, what would happen? And before you even ask, there will be no lemons in the entirety of this Fic.
Author's Ramblings:
Oh Boi... Senji Muramasa just dropped in FGO JP for new year and well, I tried to roll for him, I only had 60 SQ by that time, and got Shirou alright... (Archer EMIYA)... The Rate Up is a LIE!
I was not able to update due to personal reasons, I thought I have time from Dec. 25 to Jan. 1. But things happened and I was unable to make anything, let alone get near to my laptop. Sorry...
Also, it's not Lancer died anymore, more like Cu died, as Grand Carnival Phantasm did in Ep1.
