"Earth to Sockhead," Eddy said waving his hands. "It's your turn to play," he said tossing the controller to Dee. "Who are you messaging," Eddy asked curiously. "No one," Dee said blushing. "The little Dickson is happy like Santa Claus Eddy," Ed said eating chunky puffs. "Gentlemen stop I'll tell you all when the time is right," Dee said blushing. "Well whoever it is they better not hurt you Dee," Eddy said showing his fist. "Or I'll give him these," Eddy said laughing. "You guys are the best," Dee said smiling. "What happened after the fight?" Dee asked. "Well after you left Nazz and everyone just kept drinking, and then Tom showed up again and started dancing with Nazz," Eddy said chewing a toothpick. "Serves Shovelchin right for being an asshole," Eddy said bitterly. "Eddy that language please," Dee said concentrating on the game. "Plus no one deserves to be cheated on," Dee said as she won the match. "Whatever you say Sockhead," Eddy said as Ed started playing the farming game. "I love chickens guys," Ed said gleefully. "They love you too lumpy," Eddy said as Dee and him watched Ed play. These were the times Dee loved, being with her friends. "I'll tell them about Kevin soon," Dee thought to herself.
It was the morning of the date and Dee had her hair in rollers while drinking her hot tea when she heard a knock at the door. She slowly walked to the door and looked through the peep hole. It was Kevin running his hands through his hair and smelling his breath. She opened the door " salutations Kevin," Dee said blushing. Kevin laughed so hard that he had to wipe a tear. "Good morning beautiful, never thought I'll see you with rollers in your hair," Kevin said touching one of the rollers. Dee blushed and looked in the mirror. "Good Lord I look horrible," See said trying to take the rollers out. "Stop your perfect," Kevin said as he walked in slowly. He had never been in Dee's house but was aware of her organization. A sign said shoes and Kevin quickly took them off.
"Thank you Kevin, can I ask what it is you needed," Dee said blushing. Kevin smiled "I came to borrow a cup of sugar and to see you," Kevin said slowly reaching for Dee's hand to kiss it. Dee blushed and quickly went to the kitchen looking for the sugar in the cabinets. As she got the sugar she turned around and there Kevin was hugging her waist. She gasped "Kevin you scared me," she said as he landed a kiss on her lips. "Came for that sugar too," Kevin said winking. Dee blushing and slowly kissed Kevin as well. She could feel his heart beating loudly. Dee slowly let out a moan and stopped the kiss. "I'm so sorry," Dee said nervously. "No I though it was cute," Kevin said slowly as he wanted another kiss but then his phone went off. He quickly answered.
"Hey ma, yes I got the sugar, I'll be over right now." Kevin looked at Dee and smiled softly. "Thanks for the sugar beautiful, but I got to go," Kevin said putting his shoes on quickly. "I'll pick you up tonight, I borrowed my dad's car," Kevin said smiling. "Before you go don't forget your jacket," Dee said getting it from the chair. "Keep it Dee, I want you to wear it for our date in case you get hold," Kevin said landing a quick kiss on Dee's cheek. "Remember I'll be here by 6," Kevin said as he waved to Dee.
Dee had taken a nap and woke up at 5. She only had a an hour to get ready. Dee quickly ran to the bathroom to shower. She dried off her body and applied cream all over. Letting herself air dry while she brushed her teeth. She began to quickly do her make up and removed the rollers. She quickly brushed her curls out and sprayed her sweet perfume that Kevin liked. She looked at the time 5:45. "Oh no I need to change fast," Dee said getting her black satin dress off the hanger and her four inch heels. She quickly put the dress on as it hugged her hips. The dress showing off her creamy ivory skin and one of her best qualities her legs. She put on her heels that she had been practicing in since last year. She gave herself a look over and smiled. "You are a sight of beauty Dee," she said to herself. She went down stairs and lite a candle as she waited for 6. She got her purse and put on Kevin's jacket. Six o'clock came along then 6:10, then 6:20. "Maybe he is just running late," she said pacing back and forth. 6:40 hit and she was getting worried. She called Kevin but it went to voicemail.
"Kevin I'm calling cause I'm worried, please call me when you can." Dee said hanging up. Right at 7 Dee tried again this time it rang.
"Kevin who is this," a girls voice can be heard from the phone. "Whoever this is he is busy right now with me," the voice on the other end hanged up. Dee slowly put the phone down and was shaking with regret. "Why did I ever believe he was being serious," Dee said taking off her heels and putting her purse down. "I must be so dumb," Dee said slowly taking off Kevin's jacket. She could still smell his cologne. "Kevin you big jerk," Dee said as she sat on the couch turning on a movie. The candle burning down to the last wax.
Dee looked at the time and it was 7:40. She slowly went to the kitchen and opened a bottle from her parents liquor cabinet. She took a shot of vodka and poured herself a glass of Pinot Nior.
A knock was at the door. She grabbed the glass of wine and walked to the door. "Who is it at this hour," Dee said sipping on her wine. "It's me Kevin, please Dee open up," Kevin said quickly. Dee went and grabbed Kevin's jacket, right when she opened the door a wet Kevin was standing in the rain. "Take your jacket back and have a goodnight Kevin," Dee said coldly as she threw the jacket to him.
As she was about to slam the door Kevin quickly pushed the door open and slammed it behind him. "Kevin please leave I have nothing to say to you," Dee walking slowly backwards scared. "Dee please let me explain," Kevin said trying to get Dee to look at him. Dee took another sip of her wine and placed it on the table.
" Explain what Kevin, explain why you are late, why a woman answered your phone, why Kevin, why," Dee said tears rolling down her cheek. "I was hoping you really meant it when you asked me out, that you actually wanted to get to know one another better," Dee said moving from Kevin. Kevin looked hurt by what Dee said. "I've always been a joke to you haven't I?" Dee said her voice cracking from her tears. Kevin went into the kitchen and took a shot of vodka to calm his nervous. He was getting angry that Dee wouldn't let him explain. "Can you let me explain or not dork," Kevin said angrily.
Dee looked up to see how upset Kevin was getting, she was frightened by him. She noticed it was a different look almost of sadness in Kevin's eyes. "You kept me waiting this long, so might as well here you out," Dee said sipping her wine and taking a deep breath.
Kevin never saw this side of Dee, but he liked her being blunt. "I went to Nazz's, Dee. I went to end things with her," Kevin said taking a cigarette out of his pocket. "Why couldn't you text that to me so I wouldn't had been so worried Kevin," Dee said standing up to open the window for Kevin so her could smoke. "I came by to tell you, but you must of been getting ready," Kevin said looking at how incredible Dee looked in that dress. "My phone was dead due to me leaving my charger at Nazz's," Kevin said lighting his cigarette and taking a big drag in.
"I went to get it and thought it was a better time to end things with her Dee," Kevin said looking at Dee's direction. "I've been wanting to end things with her for a long time Dee, I just never knew when the right moment was to do it," Kevin said as he drank another shot of vodka. "When you called again, we were in the moment of arguing and she answered your call," Kevin said taking his cap off. "She doesn't know who you are, just that your somehow related to Double D," Kevin said trying not to be insensitive. "She must really dislike me now, huh ?" Dee said looking at the floor. Kevin threw his cigarette out and got closer to Dee. Slowly lifting her chin to look at him. "It doesn't matter if she does or not, I'm more worried you dislike me now," Kevin said slowly touching her check that still has a tear.
"I don't hate you Kevin, I was worried something happened and then when she answered," Dee got all choked up again. "Shh..Dee I'm not that kind of person to lead you on," Kevin said drying more of her tears. "I'm sorry I worried you, but please can you give me another chance at trying to get to know you Dee." Kevin said slowly kissing her hand. "Give us a second chance Dee," Kevin said kissing your hand more. Dee could feel herself getting nervous. "Promise you won't stand..," before Dee could finish there was a knock at the door. Dee and Kevin looked at each other. Kevin walked in front of Dee and asked "who is it at this time," Kevin said with a husky voice. He opened the door quickly to see Nazz standing there.
"Where is that little slut," Nazz said pushing Kevin aside. "So you the boyfriend stealer," Nazz said slapping Dee in the face. Dee was in shock. She had been beat up by mostly everyone in the cul-de-sac but never Nazz. "Well speak up whore," Nazz said trying to slap her again but was stopped by Kevin's strong grip. "She has nothing to do with this Nazz, this is between you, me, and Tom," Kevin said angrily. "Leave Dee out of this," Kevin said letting Nazz's hand go.
"We can work things out Kevin please, Tom means nothing to me," Nazz said gripping onto Kevin's shirt. "Your the only man for me," Nazz said trying to kiss Kevin as Dee looked away. "Stop Nazz it's over, your cheated and this stunt you pulled right now shows what kind of person you really are." Kevin said pulling Nazz away from him. "Get out of here before I call the authorities please," Dee said still not looking at any of them. Nazz looked at Dee then at Kevin. "Take me home at least Kevin, it's raining out," Nazz said slowly trying to hug Kevin. Kevin looked at Nazz then at Dee. Dee slowly looking at him.
"Please just go," Dee said holding back her emotions as she looked out the window. "Dee...I," Kevin was cut off by Nazz. "Take me home Kevin now," she said with anger. Kevin slowly went to Dee and tried to hug her from behind. Dee quickly moved away from his grip. "Just go Kevin," Dee said as she went to the door. Her bloodshot eyes full of tears. Kevin didn't want to upset Dee anymore then he already had. Nazz was the first to walk out giving Dee an ugly look. Kevin slowly walked to the door and looked at Dee.
"Think about it Dee," Kevin said looking ashamed. "I'll come back tomorrow to hear your answer," Kevin said walking out the door. Before he could say goodnight the door was closed, and Kevin knew he really messed up. After driving to Nazz's house he looked at her.
"Its over Nazz, I don't want to be with you anymore," Kevin said staring at the road. "Kevin, plea...," Nazz was about to finish when Kevin cut her off. "No it's over we are done. Get out of my car and leave me alone." Kevin said looking at her angrily. "Your such a bastard," Nazz said slamming his car door.
Kevin drove in silence and parked his dad's car in the garage. He looked across the street to see Dee's house only one light on still. He knew what he had to do. He had to go to Dee and confess his feelings for her. If he didn't then that was it. Kevin ran across the street to see Dee, his beautiful Dee.
