Bad Reception
Chapter 2: Channel Takedown
As the heroes went through the factory, they noticed a lot of gears and cogs rotating in the wall. There were a few pipes releasing steam, and a couple of presses colliding with each other in rhythmic fashion. It's probably as if, if any of these ceased, the power would completely shut down.
"Wow... how much time do you think it took him to make this place girls?" Bunny asked.
"Given that wasn't working alone... five days..." Blitz thought.
"Thank goodness he was smart enough to leave a map here..." The map showed many different locations, though the one Bubbles wanted to get to was most likely the main room, as shown by the huge circular area towards the left. "We need to go here. The main room is where Silico has to be! As soon as we get in there, we can stop whatever he plans on doing."
"Right, hold on a mo'." Blitz walked up to the map and gave a good look at it. "Alright, I got it memorized, permission to lead the way friend?"
"You don't my permission, I'm not Blossom."
"Then try to keep up!" Blitz proceeded to live up to her name.
"Hey wait!" The other two shouted.
*Camera view, then pans out to Silico*
"Hehehehe... now we can really start the show..." He pressed a button, and out in the room where the heroes currently were, Blitz was still shooting forwards, but she was able to stop herself in time to avoid getting singed by laser beams. The others followed soon after.
"Woah! Okay... something tells me he knows we're here!" Bubbles said.
"There has to be some way to deactivate these lasers..." Blitz thought. She looked around until she spotted a switch on the other side that said above it: 'If lasers activate unexpectedly, pull'. "Bunny, can you please hand me that barrel?"
"Sure thing." Bunny lifted the barrel over and Blitz immediately used model manipulation to change it into a grappling hook. She fired it and it landed on the lever; she pulled it back and the lever was pulled down, effectively deactivating the lasers. "Nice thinking."
"Thank you. Now let's continue."
*Silico's view*
"Expected... truly expected... but they won't survive this next one. This factory isn't your average factory as a matter of fact. Now prepare to have your mind boggled." He pulled a switch, and the entire factory shook. Silico, as well as the girls, were holding onto the walls. "This'll give them quite the headache... hehehehe..."
*Back with the girls*
"The room is... this way!" Blitz said; she flew forwards, and the others followed. Well, Bunny followed, but Bubbles felt like something was up.
"Once the room started shaking, I felt like I was physically moving... I think Silico is trying to keep us away from the room he's hiding in..." Regardless of the idea she had come to, she still decided to follow her friends, but only to see if her theory was correct.
They made it to a room, but not the one Silico was in, and it's weird too! Blitz had made sure to study every inch of that map! "Wait... what!? Did I make a mistake!? Oh no... girls I'm sorry!" She said.
"Blitz it's fine... besides, I feel like I may know why we ended up here."
"Why's that?"
But before Bubbles could answer, a large mechanical monster showed up. It was spider-like in design and had the tail of a scorpion. It's faced was trapezoidal in shape, and on that face there were two huge mandibles and a set of eyes; one eye had a scope sticking out of it. "Uh-oh... maybe I'll explain after this..." The heroes on a mission got into battle-ready stances and prepared for the worst.
*Silico's view*
"I'll feel like a nice little chat is in order..." He pushed a button and his face suddenly appeared on a screen above the girls' location. "Hello Powerpuff Girls, I see you're trying to stop my little plan of domination by screen-slaving? For shame..."
"Just give up Silico! Me and my sisters have always beaten you! So who says me, Bunny, and Blitz can't stop you!?" Bubbles asked; very much aware of the answer.
"You forget Bubbles, these two also have no experience fighting me whatsoever... it'll be their first rodeo..." Silico then looked towards the robot. "And I see you have to fight an awfully strong one, my 'Heavy Scorpio'. Tell you three what. If you can defeat this robot, I'll switch the rooms back to their original positions.
"I knew you had something to do with it! C'mon! As Blossom would probably say: 'Let's squash this bug'!" The three flew up and dove towards the mechanical bug at different angles. Bubbles aiming for the tail, Bunny going for its legs, and Blitz handling the face. As Bubbles fired her lasers at the tail, it used some strange energy absorption and as soon as Bubbles stopped, fired it all back at her. Lucky for her, she was fast to notice this, and she dodged swiftly. "Darn!" She then flew at the tail and latched onto it, attempting to tear it off.
Bunny punched at the legs with everything she got, she nearly got pierced by one as the robot started moving. Hopping back to regain herself, she fired her Homing Flare and it moved towards the closest leg; it only merely singed it a little. "Uh-oh... better try something else..."
Blitz was in front of the robot, providing to be a distraction while the others did their thing. "If I can distract this thing, the others should be able to damage the other limbs." Blitz forcefully pulled off a piece of the ground and turned it into a missile with a drill tip. She fired it at the robot, the missile managed to drill through its normal eye; this caused its vision to become screwy, as it was now constantly looking around for Blitz. "Well that's something..."
"Ugh! Just. One. More. Pull!" Bubbles, remembering she had her X-Hancing ring on her, tapped it and managed to pull off the tail no problem. Wielding it like a weapon, she gave the backside of the robotic scorpion a good stab. The robot stopped and started to short-circuit; Bubbles flew over and nabbed the other girls to get them a reasonable distance away from the explosion that followed soon after. "Alright! We did it!" She cheered. "High-fives... er... 'ones' all around!"
While they were celebrating early, Silico had butted in to speak. "Well then... you three clearly shown you're no pushovers. A deal is a deal, I'll swap the rooms... as soon as you leave..."
"Wait... how do we know you won't try to trick us?" Bunny asked.
"Yeah! I know how you are Silico!" Bubbles added.
"What? You're expecting me to lie? Bubbles... unlike you, I play fair."
Bubbles looked down at her X-Hancing ring which had powered down just a second after. "I don't care I have to win by fair means or unfair means, as long the villain loses... that's all that matters to me..."
Blitz came over and put her arm around her. "Well said."
Bubbles' expression brightened, and she looked back at the villain on the big screen. "Just you wait! We'll win in no time!"
"I disagree... but so be it. Make your move, make sure it's not your last..." The screen shut off and retracted itself into the hole it came out of. The heroes then flew out, and waited for the room to stop shaking. Once it did, they re-entered the room, only this time it actually did lead to Silico. He was at the control panel of the machine from earlier. "Like it? It's the exact same machine that I used to build that TV you saw Bubbles. That reminds me... how on Earth were you not affected by the hypnosis waves?"
"Oh... I wasn't home at the time."
Silico's expression made him look like he just witnessed a murder. "You... must be joking... Ugh! It doesn't matter... but back on the subject of this thing. Not only can it make counterfeit TV's..." Silico snapped his finger and an entire array of the false TV was revealed behind him (there were approximately fifty of 'em). "It makes counterfeit ROBOT TV's!" He pressed a button on his remote that sent out a soundwave towards the arsenal. The TV's then transformed into the robots with designs based on the one from Chapter 1's description; only this time, they were more armored, and their claws were more pointy. "Screenbots... eviscerate these intruders!" The robots all charged forwards with looks of anger. The girls knew what they were in for, so Bubbles powered on her ring once again and let the enhancing energy run through her. She then took a battle-ready stance.
"Let's do this..."
