"Ash, where are we going?" Serena gasped out as she tried not to trip. The raven haired boy overlooked over his shoulder to give her a toothy grin. "It's a surprise!" Serena could only shake her head in amusement as she did enjoy surprises. They continued to speed walk on the pavement and the honey blonde glanced up at the clouds to reveal an ominous atmosphere.
'Looks like a snowstorm is coming...' she worriedly thought.
"You ok Serena?" He asked as he stopped to look at Serena's sudden expression.
"Huh...oh! Yes I'm fine, just a little worried about the weather is all." She waved her hand dismissively. Ash turned his head to the sky and nodded before gazing back at Serena. "Oh don't worry, we won't be flying anytime soon." He winked. Serena smiled as she did trust his judgment but couldn't help to think about that last part of his sentence. 'Flying?' She was confused at first but quickly gained a good idea on what it could be. She will just wait and see for the future evening.
The two lovebirds traveled throughout the bright luminous city to pass time. The sun began to set, thus creating the twilight sky. They stopped near a bench with a lamp post close by and were alone for the time being. They sat down to relax and look at the city. The cerulean blue eyed girl started to contemplate on what her feelings for him were truly. She knew she couldn't say the words to Ash just yet as they only just began dating and plus she didn't want to make him uncomfortable by saying it too soon. The words 'I love you' had such a strong meaning behind it and she wanted it to be special when the moment came. She knew it would probably take a decent amount of time before either of them were ready to say it but she doesn't mind at all. After all, she is going on a date with her childhood crush so she doesn't want to push her luck.
"Hey Serena...you're kinda spacing out on me." The raven haired boy questioned with one of his eyebrows raised. Serena's eyes widened.
"Oh I'm sorry Ash...I-I was j-just thinking!" She yelped slightly as she rubbed the back of her hand. Ash frowned before getting closer to Serena's face and held both of their hands together. Ash took a deep breath before whispering to his date.
"Hey Serena, if you're not ready to go out tonight I completely understand, if you need a little more time to think over things then that's alright with me...I just don't want to make you uncomfortable or anything." He smiled reassuringly as he rubbed his thumb on her hands. "I'm saying this now because I noticed that you were spacing every now and then...plus I'm new to this whole dating thing, so I'm sorry if I do something wrong." He finished as he tilted his head.
Serena for a moment was lost at words, Ash was being so patient and understanding with her. How did she get this lucky to have him? Her eyes beamed and smiled before hastily speaking.
"N-No no no, I really want to go out on this date with you Ash, and nothing will change that, especially after waiting years for this night!" She answered truthfully, squeezing Ash's hand with both of her hands to further her truth as she bit her bottom lip nervously. The raven haired champion could only smile at her as they got up and continued on their way. A couple of minutes went by and Ash glanced at his Cubone theme watch.
'5:25'
Ash turned to his date and decided to tell Serena where they were going for tonight. Her reaction was something Ash wished he recorded on his Rotom phone for memories.
"Y-You got us reservations at the Grand Lumiose Restaurant!? She gaped, her ears not believing what he said.
"Yup! Plus since I'm the world monarch, we both will receive extra privileges and bonuses!" Ash winked. Serena could only stare at his auburn brown eyes before launching herself at him to give him a bone crushing hug. Luckily this time, Ash was prepared for it and returned the hug with much enthusiasm.
"You're amazing Ash!" She whispered in his ear before slightly pulling away from Ash. "But are you sure you want to spend that much money on me?" She asked with uncertainty. Ash shook his head fondly before answering her question.
"Don't worry about it Serena, it'll be worth it in the end to see you happy and besides, I believe you deserve it all after waiting on me for years, I was an oblivious idiot back then, so please let me make it up to you from here on out." He smiled gently at her. Serena gave him a soft expression and leaned again. She was going to give him his second kiss, not on cheek but on his lips. She waited long enough and he probably did too. As Serena inched closer, she was stopped by a distant voice calling her name.
"Kalos Queen Serena!" A small voice yelled out to only reveal a little girl in a brown long coat with purple mittens. She had around the same skin tone as Serena but little more pale and had dark brown hair. The little girl began to run up to Serena to display a poster of her from one of her performances.
"My name is Molly and I'm a really big fan!" She cheered as she took out a black sharpe. "Can I have your autograph!" She bounced excitingly while holding out the marker up to Serena.
Serena was caught surprised for a mere second before laughing. "Why sure you can, but what's the magic word?"
"Oh I know! Umm...pretty please!" She giggled as Serena kneeled down and took the sharpe to sign the poster. The Kalos Queen took off the cap and signed her name in her best calligraphy she could do. Once she finished writing her signature, the little girl squealed in happiness as she tightened her grasp on her new signed poster. "Thank you so much!" She whispered excitedly and began to run the opposite way.
"No problem!" Serena beamed as turned back to Ash to see a smirk on his face
"Ash?" Serena questioned. "Why do you have that face?" She further questioned him.
"Oh nothing, I just thought it was adorable to see that, like the way you smiled was cute." He chuckled as he waved his pointer finger around.
"Yeah yeah, I know I'm cute but don't we have to be somewhere?" Serena huffed, trying to change the subject. She did not blush again in front of him to give him satisfaction. She was the Kalos Queen for crying out loud, no way she was losing against Ash's flirting, well at least for now.
"As you wish, my queen!" Ash spoke with high confidence and took her hand gracefully. Serena couldn't hold her blood from reaching her cheeks and ultimately failed as she blushed bright red.
"You can't win against me." The world monarch grinned as he grabbed her hand and began to set foot to their destination.
"Next stop! The Grand Lumiose Restaurant!" He yelled out. Serena just adored how Ash looks when he gets all excited. As they walked closer to the restaurant, Ash stopped suddenly causing Serena to stump forward a bit but didn't fall. She stood upward to face Ash to find his face like he forgot something important.
"Hey Ash? What's wrong?"
Ash blinked before yelling out to her in panic.
"I'm so sorry!"
"W-What?" Serena was confused.
"I kinda made a deal with my friend and his girlfriend to have a double date with us, since he helped me with planning this date! Please forgive me for not telling you sooner!" He finished as he clapped both of his hands together above his head as if he were pleading.
Serena couldn't speak as she was still trying to take the information in but quickly responded to her panicking date.
"Hey Ash it's ok, I don't mind a double date...but uh, who is coming with us exactly?" She requested to know.
"Oh, remember about my friend Goh?"
"Yes I remember, so that means Chloe is coming too?"
"Yup!" Ash chirped in agreement.
"This night is really full of surprises, but I expect that from someone like you who is unpredictable at times." Serena laughed as she smoothed her golden honey locks with her hand. "But please, next time, just tell me the whole picture before heading out." She breathed out in slight disappointment as she just wanted to be with Ash for the night but she wasn't going to throw a fit over this. Besides, a double date couldn't be all that bad especially with people who are great friends with Ash.
"Alright my champion!, let's carry on." She winked to reassure him that she wasn't angry at him.
"Coming Serena! He smiled with relief. "And yeah I promise to tell you everything moving forward!"
Ash and Serena are undoubtedly naive at the whole dating thing but in time, they will get better as their love will grow. For now they just need to get to the restaurant as it began to snow hard and neither of them wanted to get sick on their first date.
Author's note: I'm changing a few things from here on out with the story drafts and future chapters will come in no existing pattern, because I'm learning how to schedule things out but fear not, this fanfic will be completed sometime in the future. Because I don't want my first writing project to go to waste. So other than that I bid you all good day and see you in the next chapter! :D
Side note: Yeah I'm still finding small grammer errors but I'll fix them hopefully soon, just trying to not burn myself out with writing lol
