Alice was very nervous, it was her first day working for one of the most powerful and mysterious enterprises in New York: The Circle. She had just finished her Neurology Post Graduation and since her professional life had been focused in the academy, submerged into several academic projects and researches, this was her first role in a private company.
Alice was a brilliant professional, so it was not a surprise that such an important company had sent her an invitation to occupy the head of the medical research sector, especially after her recent contributions to the National Medical Magazine. Still, Alice was terrified and she hated feeling like this, especially because deeply inside she knew that she was feeling like this because somehow she felt like this would be a no-return decision. Alice couldn't say no to what they were offering to her, though.
The young doctor was a very attractive woman. She was 33 years old, red headed and had honey/golden eyes that would catch anyone's attention. She had pale skin covering a very well distributed body in 5'5. Her face had the most lovely freckles around an upturned nose that would make her look younger than she really was and a pair of gorgeous naturally pink and round lips. Alice was indeed an eye-catching figure. At that moment, her long and delicate fingers were shaking with anxiety.
— Good morning, Ms Geller. Please follow me so I can show you your new office — said George Rogue, the President of the Circle's Medical Sector, Alice's new boss. He was about 60 years old and had a very kind face, maybe too kind for someone in this position.
— Good morning, Mr Rogue, sure — answered Alice.
The building was very quiet, the only thing that could be heard was the sound of Alice's heels hitting the cold marbled floor. The employees, the furniture, the walls... everything had this bizarre perfection but was at the same time really luxurious.
When George stopped in front of a door numbered 818, which would soon be Alice's new office, there was a tall and really effing elegant man waiting on an equally elegant leather couch on the right side of the door. Alice's ears immediately stopped listening to whatever her boss was saying when she lost herself studying that mysterious man.
— Ms Geller? — said George, always patient, with a lovely smile on his lips.
— Oh hm, pardon-me — Alice stuttered and noticed that the stranger moved his lips in what seemed like a little right-sided smile.
— Please get in and get yourself comfortable in your brand new office. In 5 minutes I will let Mr Wick get in for his routine tests, following the procedures you are already familiar with after the training session you received. He is your first patient! — George exclaimed with the same previous smile, almost shutting his eyes completely. — I'm very happy to have such a wonderful professional taking care of our most precious employees! — he added, with a playful blink.
Alice felt a cold shiver in her spine while she walked in, like her steps were in slow motion, sensing those piercing black eyes following her carefully, but in a deliciously calm way.
George closed the door and Alice saw herself in a sumptuous room. All white (very white). Alice sighed heavily, it was 8h30 in the morning, but her body had already been through enough tension for a whole busy day.
When Alice took off her overcoat and placed her bag over the table, somebody knocked on the door. Alice let out a stifle cry of surprise, since it had only been like 2 minutes since she entered the room.
— Ahm.. Pl-please come in — she said, in a failed voice, nervously placing a strand of hair behind her left ear.
It was John Wick: a breath-taking man, probably in his late 40's. He had long dark hair, perfectly slicked back, the deepest and most penetrating eyes that anyone would have ever seen. He was dressed in an all black suit: black tie, black shirt, black shoes. His face showed 3 cuts and a fresh bruise. When he closed the door behind him, he felt the same kind of shiver that Alice felt before. This somehow annoyed him, because this made him feel vulnerable.
— Good morning — he said in a voice that was as deep as his black eyes while he walked closer to Alice's table. — I'm John Wick, I'm here for the tests, as George mentioned. — There was some sort of elegancy and politeness in his voice that was driving Alice crazy.
— Good morning, Mr Wick. I'm doctor Alice Geller — she said, with the most beautiful smile that John had recently seen, giving him her hand to shake — Please take a sit.
John had a big and strong hand shake, his palm swallowed Alice's delicate hands. She could feel that at the same time that his skin was rough, it was pleasantly warm. Alice felt her stomach turn inside of her and couldn't hold back a deep breath, while John felt his face hot with her touch.
Alice started to register some information in the forms that she had over her desk, by asking John a few standard questions. At this moment, she couldn't help but notice a slight impatience in John's voice.
— I imagine that you have done that too many times, right? — said Alice, almost apologizing.
— After 25 years working here, yes. They really want to make sure that we are in perfect shape...for the jobs. — John said, serious.
— Alright. I imagine that you are very busy, so I will try to stop wasting too much time — said Alice, also serious this time. — Please sit on that chair and ahm... take off your suit and shirt — she added, feeling her face burn imagining that gorgeous man undressing.
John stood up and walked towards the chair. Alice had the impression that when he moved, everything around was in slow motion. He sat and started undressing his suit, tie, and then shirt while looking right into Alice's eyes. She could swear that she was about to faint. John tried really hard to simulate lack of interest, but he was actually having trouble holding back a boner. Both of them were aware of the tension in the air, that's probably what was getting John so impatient.
— Done. — said John, coldly.
Alice approached. John's chest and stomach were covered in tattoos and a lot of scars, some of them still looked painful.
— Can I take care of these wounds? — said Alice, frowning.
— It's not necessary. I will get fresher ones tonight. — said John, looking down. — Although I would appreciate some pain killers, please.
Alice started feeling worried with the cold way that John was acting and decided to stop trying to force a conversation. After all, this man could be an assassin, if the rumors around The Circle were true. This thought brought a bitter taste to her mouth, so she hurried to finish the physical tests and the blood collection, even though touching that skin felt like heaven. Alice was confused, although he was acting pretty cold, she knew that John was feeling something similar to what she was feeling because she could notice him shivering with her touch.
— Alright. That is all for today. Fortunately I haven't noticed anything wrong, but we still need to wait for the blood results. You need to come back in 1 week so we can review them, ok? — she said, just professionally, giving him the medicines that he asked previously.
— That is ok. — said John, getting dressed. His fingers seemed incredibly agile as he buttoned his shirt in like 2 seconds. — Thank you and have a good day — he added, while running his left hand through his impeccably slicked hair.
John went out, giving the room, Alice and himself a strange feeling of emptiness. He couldn't remember the last time his mind had been this blurry, but he didn't have the time for these vain feelings now. He had too many problems and businesses to take care of. Dark and heavy ones that would scare the hell out of Alice.
