AN: If it seems as though Bonnie is being bashed...I'm not trying to do that
Chapter 2:
Elena managed to leave the Mikaelson's mansion and get to her house without anyone in the mansion to know she had stayed the night but she had a feeling they knew. She licked her dried lips at the memory of being with the three who teased and pleasured her.
The moment she entered her house she got dressed in workout clothes and called Bonnie who seemed eager to go on a run with her.
Damon had sneered at the witch and the new doppelganger with such loathing and disgust that people around him wondered why he hated his friends.
He had stepped in front of them to stop them from the run when he noticed that Elena's neck had bite marks that were faint-barely seen by a human or a witch's eyesight. A slight sniff of her caused him to look at her in revulsion before smirking as he could make her doubt everything.
"So where's your brother at Elena?" Damon asked her. "Is he with the vampires you were with I wonder?" He smirked at her watering eyes. "You do know that you're just as useless as Caroline is. No one wants you and if they do it's because they want information on Jeremy, Katherine or both of them and you're easy to get it from." He curled a finger around a strand of loose hair before letting it go. "If you think you're truly wanted then you're deluding yourself."
She took a step back and as she turned, he smirked inwardly as tears fell from her eyes. Seeing her run in a different direction he turned to Bonnie who was horrified by what he said and as she was going to say something, Damon fell forward with a snapped neck.
"Jeremy?" Bonnie asked and Jeremy cocked his head.
"I saw Damon and grew worried that he was around you and Elena," he said as he looked around for his sister. "Where's Elena?" Bonnie turned and gulped thickly.
"She probably ran home," she whispered. "Damon had said…things to her that upset her." She wanted to say that Damon had lied but she knew her words would feel like ash, as they were true.
"What did he say?" Jeremy's voice was slowly sounding like a demand. "Bonnie? What did he say?"
"She's useless and no one wants her," Bonnie repeated. "That the only reason she would be wanted is for information on you, Katherine or a combination of the two…but he's right." Jeremy looked at her with a heated gaze. "When was the last time someone said that they wanted Elena and not wanted someone else?"
Jeremy wanted to break something and as he looked at Damon's downed body, he began to punch it when Bonnie screamed, "Jeremy!"
"You could have stopped him but you didn't," Jeremy snarled and as he stopped pummeling Damon as much as he could, he was ready to make Bonnie regret knowing him. "You could have said something but you didn't. She's supposedly your best friend but you allowed him to verbally harm her." He shook his head. "If you were her friend you would have shut him up but you didn't."
Elena had made it to her house and as she made her way into her room, she shut and locked the door. Moving blindly as the tears were now freely falling, she ended up at her bed. Getting on it, she sat down and brought a pillow to hug, pressing her face into it to muffle her sobs.
She had enjoyed last night and the bit of morning delight she had but Damon had ruined it.
She should have known that no one wanted her-truly wanted her.
Every time she looked at herself in the mirror she never saw herself but those who came before.
She never saw Elena but Katherine portraying her. She would see Tatia as well and Elena was nowhere.
Bonnie was sitting on the front step of the Gilbert residence, crying when a throat cleared, forcing her to look up to see eight vampires-Caroline being her friend among them.
"Jeremy called and said you were a foolish witch," Caroline whispered as she stepped to stand in front of the door. "What did you do?"
"She allowed Damon to make Elena feel less like a person but an object," Jeremy growled as he appeared. "She locked her door as well as the other entrance to her room from the bathroom so going those ways is a moot point." He wanted to tell her that Damon lied and made her his victim of the day.
"Her window's open," Caroline said as she got off the porch and looked at it. "I can get into her room easily and unlock it but for now Jeremy…I think she needs to talk to someone that isn't you or treated her like an object."
Rebekah nodded.
"I'll go," Rebekah told them, as she never treated her as such. "Nik would be a lost cause," Klaus nodded. "Kol would make it a big joke and Finn…should stay here and read Bonnie the riot act." Finn raised an eyebrow, as he didn't know what she meant. "Elijah? Have you treated her like an object or less like a person?"
"He probably has," Bonnie whispered. "All vampires have."
"I actually haven't," Elijah said honestly. "I always dealt with her and treated her as herself, a person and definitely not a copy."
The moment that Caroline did some stunning moves to get into the room where she found her best friend, face buried in the pillow and silently crying.
Her heart ached for her and as she unlocked the door, she saw it open to have Elijah and Rebekah enter. She saw the way Elijah look at Elena, just seeing how heartbroken she was and noticed that he was torn between wanting to slaughter Damon for making Elena that upset or wanting to comfort her.
"I guess that Damon really got into her mind," Rebekah whispered to Caroline who nodded. "Has he made her feel like this before?"
"He's always been an ass to her but never to this extent," Caroline admitted. "Usually she snaps back or gets him to shut it by forcing him to drink a liter of vervain infused bourbon while stabbing him with a knife." Rebekah whistled.
"Vicious," Rebekah said with a small handclap. "Very vicious." However she did feel bad for the brunette. "He must have been vicious in his own words towards her."
"I don't even want to know what he said," Caroline whispered. "I really don't want to know."
Elijah went over to his now silently crying mate and held her in his arms, as he sat on the bed. He ran a hand through her hair and was rubbing her back with his other hand.
"Princess," he whispered sadly. "Don't listen to a word a madman with a vendetta says."
"Isn't it true though?" She managed to ask. "I'm not wanted. I'm useless and the only reason anyone wants me is because I'm easy. People don't want me but they want Katherine or Jeremy."
Elijah felt himself stiffen and he hugged her tightly-not enough to bruise her anyway.
"I would rather have the devil entertaining me over your brother and Katerina," he whispered. "I want you. I've always wanted you." He let her go and lifted her chin to look up at him. "There is no one else that I want or desire other than you." He nuzzled her cheek. "Only you."
Elena placed her face on his neck and he made sure that she was safe in his arms before standing up, carrying her in his arms.
She was his precious mate and if he could, he would prove it.
Bonnie, who was outside, was still feeling down in the dumps while Jeremy was pacing angrily.
"As much as I hate Bonnie…what did she do this time?" Kai asked as he leaned against the porch railing looking quite at ease.
"She allowed Damon to open his mouth and insult my sister," Jeremy snarled. "Saying that no one wants her except to use her for information." He was glowering at the quivering witch while Finn and Kai seemed angry. "That she's the easiest target to get information from pertaining to me, Katherine or a mix of us."
"I mean that I'm evil but that's taking it a step too far," Klaus snarled and Bonnie felt her body shake. "There were other reasons why I wanted Elena."
"I may not know her the way the others do but honestly I'd want her as a friend," Kol and Enzo snarled. "She seems cool."
"Where is Damon so I can maim him?" Finn asked darkly while Kai was about to take a step towards Bonnie.
"I left him broken on the next block," Jeremy murmured as he was staring at the house. "I just…she's my big sister! She's been so strong that I hate seeing her this way." He had seen her upset, tired and every other emotion but he had never seen her cry like this. Even hearing her cry made his heart shatter.
Kol understood what he was saying though Rebekah was his little sister. He would hate to see her so broken that she would cry herself to sleep and sadly enough he had seen her that way a few times.
His eyes were on Finn and Klaus who were nodding with Jeremy's words while Kai had disappeared with Enzo to get Damon's body.
Elena had fallen into an uneasy sleep in his arms and he was running a hand through her hair, his face pressed into her collarbone.
Rebekah had watched Elijah soothe her but it seemed as though she needed to truly understand that her brothers and possibly Kai just wanted her-not for anyone else but her.
"Is it wrong that I want to kill Damon?" Caroline whispered and Rebekah shook her head. "I want to kill him and I want Bonnie to understand that what she had allowed to be said wasn't just hurtful but cruel."
"I'll help you with Bonnie while I think Elijah, Finn and Kai are going to torture Damon for his words," Rebekah admitted. "I'm sorry if that hurts you but it's true."
Caroline shook her head, as it didn't hurt her at all. After what Damon had done to her while human and how Elena did her best with helping her through it…she wanted to return the favor.
The moment the front door opened Elijah was walking out with a fitfully sleeping Elena in his arms and he ignored everyone around him. Jeremy noticed how tense the vampire was when he was walking. He wanted to calm them down but he couldn't find the right words since the man looked like he was going to murder anyone who spoke.
Finn was cautious as he walked towards his younger brother, worry and anger swirling in his eyes.
"Will she be okay?" Finn whispered and Elijah shrugged as best as he could.
"She's going through some psychological damage as well as emotional damage," Elijah whispered to him. "It's going to take time to get her to trust anyone again." Finn nodded and as he took the sleeping young woman, Elijah turned his ire onto the tear-streaked witch. "If I didn't value Elena's trust and friendship at this moment you would be dead." His eyes were dark with anger. "If I could compel you to be honest about your opinions on what Damon said I would but compelling a witch is useless." Bonnie kept her head bowed. Elijah turned and went to his car with Finn following him.
"You may not want to come on by to visit," Rebekah said with a wicked grin. "You and the other Salvatore are definitely not welcomed to the house for a while."
Bonnie would have said something but she kept herself in check and nodded. She didn't want to go to the Mikaelsons mansion at all.
"Can I talk to Elena when she wakes up?" Bonnie asked and Caroline shook her head.
"I think it will be counterproductive to her healing," Caroline told her. "I think at the moment you and Jeremy shouldn't talk to her because of her psyche." She looked at Jeremy who opened his mouth. "Jeremy you know that this is the best course of action and if you think otherwise then I'll make sure that you never see her." He closed his mouth and pouted. "I don't care if you're pouting! This is definitely for the best. Do you want her to sink deeper into a deeper depression?"
Esther was worried as she saw Elijah and Finn looking at the brunette in Finn's arms who was sleeping but her cheeks were blotched red.
"What had happened?" Esther asked as she walked over to them.
"Damon Salvatore and Bonnie Bennett," Esther gave them a look and Elijah explained, "Damon had said some things to Elena which I knew were not true and Miss Bennett allowed him to say them." Esther nodded and made a motion for Elijah to go and make some tea for Elena and herself as well as some biscuits.
"I will calm her down and talk to her while you and Finn deal with the witch and the young arrogant vampire," Esther ordered. "She and I are going to have a good talk so you need not worry."
The moment Elena woke up in Elijah's bed, she looked to see Esther walking into the room with a tray covered in teacups, plates of biscuits and a golden teakettle.
"Maybe we can have a talk?" She suggested. "I know how you feel though." It was something that Esther had lived with for a thousand years.
"Were you ever treated like a piece of property or told that you were nothing?" She asked as she took a teacup.
"Mikael was a cruel cruel man," Esther whispered. "How he treated Niklaus was a fraction to how he treated me and he had made me feel just how you feel." Elena looked at her in shock. "I never told my children how I had suffered-I never wanted them to know."
Elena reached her hand over and took the older witch's hand in hers, squeezing it.
"Damon had made me feel as though I wasn't wanted," she whispered. "He made me feel as though I was just who everyone could get to-that I was an easy to target prey." She looked down. "The way he made it seem was as though I'm just a trophy or something for everyone to use and treat like crap." She shook her head. "Bonnie allowed him to say those things. I want to defend her by saying that she was under the shock of him saying that I was with Elijah, Finn and Kai but…I don't think I can."
"My children and some others will make them regret it." Elena nodded but she nibbled her lower lip in worry. "You don't need to worry about a thing Elena. My children are good at making people feel horrible about themselves."
"That's not what I'm worried about," she admitted. "I'm more worried about hiding Damon's body." She shrugged. "I don't think your garden deserves to have a rotting corpse."
Esther was honest as a few of her children were reaming Bonnie out verbally while still at the Gilbert residence. Rebekah was the most vocal.
"You claim to be her best friend and you allowed a man to tear her apart verbally," the blonde Original sister was sneering at the witch. "How many times has she stood up for you? How many times has she helped you with something so pathetically stupid that it wasn't worth anything?"
"All the time," Jeremy admitted. "She's done it so many times." Bonnie opened her mouth only for Caroline to give her a glower.
"Bonnie it's true," the blonde baby vampire snapped. "So shut it."
Damon had opened his eyes only to close them as the light shining in his eyes felt as though they were burning his corneas. He would have kept them open but he could feel the vervain searing through him.
"You know…I'm evil but you're worse than me," he could hear Klaus say from the side before something hit him in the back of his head. "It makes me wonder how many women you've treated like crap…I know of Caroline and Elena. Have you done that to Bonnie?"
"Bonnie is worth a thousand Elenas and Carolines," Damon snarled only for something metal and sharp to go through him, breaking his ribs. "Damn it."
"In my opinion Bonnie is not worth anything," he could hear Kai say from behind only for something to go to his eyes. "Bonnie could die and no one would care."
Jeremy was sitting inside of his house, sitting with a hunched back. Enzo and Kol were sitting on either side of him, both rubbing his back.
"She's my sister and I adore her," Jeremy whispered to them. "I don't want her to believe that people want her to get to me."
Enzo and Kol nodded before they smirked and began to tickle him, causing him to squirm and squeal, trying to get away but it was fruitless.
To them he looked adorable with flushed cheeks and long lashes barely touching his cheeks.
Elijah was watching Damon getting sliced and tormented with a wicked smile before turning to see Finn nodding.
"I hope that mother has been helping her mentally," Finn whispered. "Her psyche needs to heal."
"Then how do we help her with her mental issues?" Elijah asked him.
"I don't know yet." Elijah was suddenly hit with an idea.
"Brother…maybe we can help her with showing her some of the memories of our earlier times as vampires," he whispered. "Anything without a Petrova Doppelganger though if we do show her one…we make sure that she is precious to us."
