Free Guy: A Whole New World

Chapter 6 - Time's Up

Author's Note: Just a repeat of what I've already said - thank you again for reading my story and I deeply appreciate the positive reception you've given me. I also apologize for the delay in updating... my work got busy and other things happened, but now that it's the holidays I feel better enough now to continue. And I hope by now you've seen this film since it's out on digital, as well as home video - the 4k copy I purchased on black Friday.

Disclaimer: I do not own the rights to this movie. That goes to Disney/Fox. I only own this story, any OCs, etc. but I wouldn't be surprised if any of what I write about appears in Free Guy 2.

"Is this something that usually happens on a daily basis?" Molotov asked, currently sitting back against a park bench and Guy beside her drinking from a water bottle.

"Oh, yeah, lots of people take fun rides here on dinosaurs," replied the former bank worker, followed by shaking his head. "But no if you're talking about the fainting stuff."

The young woman just let out a laugh and continued to look back at everything going on in the world around them. It was definitely a more positive atmosphere than the one that had been in Free City. No things like high speed chases, unnecessary fighting, or even just randomly shooting someone.

As for Guy, he was looking back at the conversation that had taken place a while ago with the cop who asked him about Molotov and making sure she would be safe. He certainly wouldn't let her get into some kind of dangerous trouble, but that sort of thing would usually happen back in the previous game. Not here… unless I'm being distracted somehow from -

Suddenly, his thoughts were interrupted by Molotov trying to pull him away from the park and towards a pair of awaiting pterodactyls. "Whoa, Millie! What are you… oh come on, wasn't the thing with the dragons a while back good enough?"

The armored female just shook her head in amusement. "That was different than what this'll be, Guy. If you can beat me on a race back to your apartment, then…" And she stopped her sentence while positioning herself on one of the winged creatures.

"Then what?" Guy wondered in confusion, and Molotov's response was a sly yet slightly suggestive smirk. "Oh… ohhhh!" He hurried over to the other flying dinosaur while Molotov chuckled at his sudden excitement. "Alright, I'll do the countdown this time. In three, two - aaggghh!"

Whoosh!

Guy's dinosaur shot up into the air before he could reach the 'one' in his counting, and Molotov laughed for a bit before tapping her own ride on the side so that it would go after him.

Oh, come on, try to catch me

Oh, catch me if you can

Oh, come on, try to catch me

Oh, catch me if you can

"You did that on purpose!" Guy yelled, while trying to make himself more comfortable on the pterodactyl. Once he found a secure balance, he sighed and was about to speak when he heard the screech of Molotov's own approaching prehistoric bird.

Look out, it's time the world was ready

For a new thing, it's time I got ahead

Get fit, nothing's gonna stop me

And I won't quit till I'm sittin' on the top

"If you help me this one time, then I'll be sure you don't ever have me as a rider again. Does that work with you?" Guy's response was his dinosaur doing another speed boost, and from where she currently was, Molotov couldn't help but smile widely.

Never give up when the going gets rough

I know I'm gonna make it through

So just trying will never be enough

I'll show you there's nothing that I can't do

As the fun race continued, Guy was still having some trouble finding the right placement on the pterodactyl. "We still gotta work on our communication skills - aaagh, high! Wow, are we high!"

Oh, come on, try to catch me

Oh, catch me if you can

Oh, come on, try to catch me

Oh, catch me if you can

Molotov's smile remained until she heard what sounded like lightning almost a few feet away from them. When that happened, a couple of memories entered her mind and her lips began forming a sad frown. However, the cries of excitement that were coming from Guy made her feel more positive again, and she petted her pteryodactyl in order to try catching up to them.

It's so close I can almost taste it

There's no way I'll ever look back

It's so hard but stoppin's not an option

I'm gonna keep on, keep on, 'cause I believe in me

"I know that look, Petey," exclaimed Guy, when they were almost in reach of the apartment building he lived in. "Do not think about spinning down to - eeeeeeeee!"

Molotov watched Guy's dinosaur perform a spin and backflip that led to a downward descent, which made her laugh again in amusement. "I knew this would work."

Oh, come on, try to catch me

Oh, catch me if you can

Oh, come on, try to catch me

Oh, catch me if you can

#############

When she arrived at the building's entrance, Guy's pterodactyl was already gone and he was trying to adjust his hair that had been messed up a little bit from the breeze of air coming down. "Thank you so much, Tweety."

After bidding goodbye to her dinosaur, Molotov laughed at Guy's attempt and started to help him out. "I am assuming that you aren't exactly friends with that particular prehistoric creature."

"It's a long story," said a sighing Guy, and was about to say something when he noticed one of his neighbors across the street that was also arriving home. "Officer Johnny!"

"Happy holidays, Guy!" The friendly officer replied, who was entering his place with a couple of bags that were filled with Christmas-themed directions. "Same to your girlfriend!"

"N-no, she is… and he's gone inside," replied Guy, while an amused Molotov just shook her head. "Well, I hope you don't mind having some Thanksgiving leftovers for dinner."

The female NPC raised her eyebrows in surprise as Guy started to search for the key to the building. "Oh, has that holiday happened here already?"

He nodded his head, and replied, "It's true what they say. Time flies when you're playing games… ah, here we go!"

Molotov followed him into the building and eventually his apartment, but her mouth dropped in surprise because the place was now decorated for the holidays. There was even a tree with lights and snowflake decorations hanging from the wall. "What in the… how did this… who…?"

"Hm? Oh, this is just the apartment's holiday setting," said Guy, noticing her visible confusion while he began reheating some plates of food for them to enjoy. "Yeah, it's got ones for Hanukkah, Kwanzaa, Easter… even something for atheists. That one is-"

"Wait… were you going to be spending the holidays alone?" Molotov asked, unaware of the realization that suddenly hit him. "I mean, other than being with Goldie."

Guy chuckled and shook his head as he set up the table. "No, I still have Buddy. You should see his place… oh, that's something we gotta do tomorrow! He's wanted to introduce us anyway to-"

"So did the apartment setting also put this up?" He turned to look over at where Molotov was standing, and Guy felt himself blush after noticing the mistletoe decoration hanging above her. "Or was that you?"

"W-well, I couldn't have done it, Molly. I mean, Molty… Millie!" A sheepish smile appeared on his face, and Molotov chuckled at his nervous actions. "I, uh…" She simply gave a look that meant she was waiting for him, so he made his way over to her. "But I don't wanna be rude - oh!"

He was cut off by Molotov suddenly grabbing ahold of his tie, and bringing him close to her before kissing Guy deeply on the lips. It took a moment for the NPC to relax and return the favor, with the apartment deciding to 'help out' by having the fireplace turned on. There was even Christmas music now playing.

You will get a sentimental feeling when you hear

Voices singing, let's be jolly

Deck the halls with boughs of holly

When they broke apart from each other, Guy blinked a few times before saying, "S-so about the, uh… you know, what was going to happen after I beat you here?"

"Just shush, Guy," replied Molotov, and she went back to kissing the surprised Guy again except this one had more passion put into it. "You understand?"

The young gentleman nodded his head, and began quietly mouthing words of excitement to the nearby Goldie as he followed Molotov into his bedroom.

Rockin' around the Christmas tree

Have a happy holiday

Everyone dancing' merrily

In the new old-fashioned way

Meanwhile, in an unknown location elsewhere, the same individual that had been in Guy's storage place was now inside of a darkened room with several computer monitors that showed almost all of Free City's game successor.

"Yeah, wait until the both of them are asleep to bring her in." He was also speaking to someone that was currently outside Guy's apartment building via Bluetooth earpiece. "No, there's only his goldfish… Guy will get the message when he finds out that she's gone. Then he'll get the cop to help him find her, and that's when the fun really begins."

After finishing the conversation, the unknown individual laid back in his chair with a sinister smile. "Happy Holidays indeed, Guy."
