U.A. DORMS-DORMS COMMON AREA-FRIDAY AFTERNOON
''You know, when I asked you what you had in mind for game night…'' Kaminari stated gaining the attention of his classmates. ''I didn't think it would be that of all things.'' He admitted with a tone of confusion and surprise.
From her spot on the floor, Jiro gave him a look. ''Well, I don't see you coming up with anything better to do.'' She pointed out with a pout.
The electric teen faltered at her point. ''W-Well, yeah…'' He conceded while rubbing the back of his head in a sheepish manner. ''But….Truth or Dare?'' He repeated with confusion.
''Hey!'' Mina exclaimed with a point. ''At least it's better than nothing.'' She retorted with her arms crossed and a pout.
Tokoyami hummed at that. ''True.'' He lightly shrugged. ''But I fail to see how this will prove to be entertaining.'' He grimaced slightly as Dark Shadow popped out of his back and perched his hands on his shoulders. ''Sounds boring!'' The quirk whined before Tokoyami scolded him for being rude.
While this was going on, Bakugou scoffed from his spot on the couch. ''For once I agree with birdbrain.'' Tokoyami gave him a look as his quirk used the chance to return to him. ''Can't we just go back to our rooms and end this shit?'' He growled in annoyance.
Beside him Kirishima lightly nudged him, earning a scowl from the explosive teen. ''Oh come on, don't be like that Bakubro.'' He stated with a toothy grin while Bakugou just rolled his eyes and looked away. ''It's tradition!'' He happily reminded while the other occupants of the room voiced their agreements.
No one knew how it started, but every Friday night when classes have ended. The students of 1A would gather around the common area of the dorms to hang out or play some games. It started off small but eventually became a routine until it evolved into some sort of a tradition for them to do when they had free time.
''Yeah, what he said!'' Mina agreed with a grin while Kirishima gave her a thumbs up. ''We can't just ignore tradition, especially with all the fun memories we made along the way.'' She stated with an air of optimism.
From his spot on another couch, Midoriya spoke. ''U-Um, it's not that I mind doing this.'' Everyone gave him their attention. ''In fact, I'm always having fun during days like this.'' He admitted before looking hesitant. ''B-But, can't we hold off on this until everyone is free next time?'' His suggestion made everyone think.
It was true that after classes had ended for the day, most of their classmates had told Mina that they have other plans for the night. Toru and Ojiro have a date planned for the night (something that the pink teen was excited to hear about later). Ochako, Sero, Koda, Yuga and Mineta admitted to have noticed that their grades taking a hit recently, so they opted to have a group study session in Ida's room. And finally, after making sure it was safe, Tsuyu and Shoji had left the dorms to spend a night with their families.
Which left Midoriya, Jiro, Mina, Kirishima, Bakugou, Momo, Todoroki, Kaminari, Sato and Tokoyami. To be the only players for the night.
Mina gave it some thought. ''Yeah….we could.'' She saw his point but was adamant to continue. ''B-But we're all here anyway so we might as well play!'' She whined with a childish pout from her spot as they sweatdropped from the response.
Momo sighed as she pinched the bridge of her nose. ''I suggest we make a decision now, otherwise this'll be a waste of time.'' Beside her Todoroki quietly nodded with his usual expression.
''She's got a point guys.'' Kaminari agreed before snapping his fingers as an idea came to him. ''I've got it! Why don't we just play a board gam-''
Everyone immediately snapped to him. ''NO!'' Their stern reply caused the electric teen to shrink from their gazes.
During the early days of their Game Night, board games were one of the first things to be suggested for them to do as a bonding activity. Unfortunately, what they couldn't have anticipated were the consequences that came when playing certain games.
One of said games was Monopoly, a game that Sero regrets suggesting to this day. Sure, it had its moments of fun. Such as Kaminari being in dept to Jiro, Momo attempting to pay with real money, Mineta consistently going to jail and Midoriya being a surprisingly ruthless player, despite the constant apologies. It seemed the latter's note taking and analysis skills helped him understand the rules, despite having never played it before. Which only made him a more dangerous player in their eyes and should not be crossed with on the board.
But what topped everything off, was the competitiveness of one Katsuki Bakugou. And combine it with the fact that Midoriya was winning more, well….
Let's just say that board games were unanimously banned by students and staff alike.
After shivering slightly at the memory of scoldings and property damage that day, Kaminari gulped. ''R-Right, my bad.'' He nervously apologized while Bakugou grumbled to himself as Kirishima patted him on the back with a shaky grin.
''Idiot.'' Jiro said without looking from her scrolling as Kaminari slumped.
Steering the conversation elsewhere, Midoriya lightly chuckled. ''U-Um, maybe Truth or Dare isn't a bad idea afterall.'' He didn't want to stress Aizawa out any more than they already did. Meanwhile Mina lit up as everyone else murmured amongst themselves.
At this, Jiro pocketed her phone. ''I'm actually with him on this.'' At her agreement, the OFA user looked embarrassed. ''I mean at this point; we might as well go with something.'' She narrowed her eyes at Mina. ''As long as it doesn't go too far.'' She warned with an accusatory look as she aimed her jacks.
While Kaminari shivered at the sight, having already experienced the damage her quirk could do, Mina was unfazed and casually waved her hand. ''Don't worry, Mineta isn't even here so I'm sure no one will abuse anything.'' Her assurance did little to ease the punk rock teen, but she let it slide since the acid user had a point.
Seeing her expression, Mina placed her left hand over her heart while the other was raised. ''Scouts Honor! No foul play here, we're just here to have fun.'' Her promise appeared to have worked as Jiro and Midoriya looked more at ease.
And as everyone else murmured their agreements, Bakugou groaned. ''Fucking finally!'' He stood up with a scowl. ''Let's get this shit over with.''
After sweatdropping from his order, the class moved together and rearranged the common area to give them a big enough space to sit in a circular formation in the middle of the room. When they finished, Momo once again urged them not to abuse the game and go over the line, gaining voiced agreements from all of them.
With everyone settled, Mina couldn't help but giddily clap her hands together. ''Ohhhh this is so exciting!'' She eagerly looked to Midoriya who got surprised from the sudden attention. ''Alright Midori, take it away!''
Midoriya was taken aback by this. ''E-Eh!?'' He stammered in surprise as everyone gave Mina a curious look. ''B-But why me?'' While he looked lost, beside him Jiro eyed the pink teen in suspicion.
The pink teen playfully rolled her eyes at this with a smile. ''Well duh! Momo and Jiro said to keep it clean and I intend to keep my word.'' The two mentioned teens felt at ease at that statement. ''And besides, out of everyone here, you're the least likely to ever do anything lewd with the game.'' She then gave him a playful look as he blushed at the remark. ''Unless of course…'' She trailed off in a flirty tone causing Momo pinch the bridge of her nose.
While Jiro felt annoyed at her look and tone for some reason, the green haired teen blushed at the insinuation. ''E-Eh!?'' He shook his head while waving his hands as the class visualized steam radiating from him. ''I-I w-would never suggest anything bad or take advantage of anyone! T-That goes against everything t-that I stand for a-and-''
Mina and Kaminari let out a laugh and fell on their backs, causing Midoriya to pause and look down at his lap with an embarrassed expression. Sato chuckled a bit while Momo and Tokoyami let out tired sighs. Kirishima nervously calmed Bakugou who looked more annoyed at the game being delayed than anything. Todoroki looked lost in his own world as he stared at the vice president.
As the laughter continued, Jiro wasn't amused and gave the pink teen a mean look. ''Not funny Mina.''
The pink teen sat up with a giggle. ''Oh come on Jiro.'' She wiped a tear as Kaminari sat up with a cough. ''I'm just teasing.'' She winked before turning to the embarrassed OFA user with a semi-apologetic expression. ''Sorry about that Midori, I just thought that we needed to loosen up a bit you know?''
After calming down, Midoriya rubbed the back of his head with a shaky grin. ''Y-Yeah, I get it.'' He agreed while Mina beamed at him. ''I do feel a bit tense now at least.'' He admitted before looking to the pink teen. ''Ok, Truth or Dare?''
Mina hummed in thought before grinning in excitement. ''Dare!'' She stood in anticipation while everyone turned back to Midoriya with looks of anticipation.
The OFA user felt a bit uncomfortable from all the eyes on him but he brushed it off. ''O-Ok ummm.'' He looked down for a second before looking up to her with a semi nervous expression. ''I dare you to do a split.'' He kindly ordered.
The pink teen raised an eyebrow and slowly slid down before completing a split on the floor while maintaining eye contact and her expression unchanging as her classmates looked impressed (or in Bakugou's case mildly impressed) on how she did it with ease. ''Really dude?'' She asked in an unimpressed tone considering she's known in the class to be the most flexible.
Midoriya looked away with an embarrassed blush. ''S-Sorry, it's all I could think of in the moment.''
While taking her seat again, Mina playfully narrowed her eyes at him before smiling kindly. ''Nah, don't sweat it Midori.'' She waved a hand as he looked back to her. ''It's only the first round and besides.'' She gave him a sheepish look. ''I did kind of put you on the spot so there's that.'' She giggled.
Looking around, Midoriya saw his classmates giving him looks of encouragement (even Bakugou in his own….angry way), causing him to smile at her. ''Thanks, Ashido.''
''Just call me Mina dude.'' The teen corrected before wearing a mischievous expression which made some of them worry. ''Now it's my turn.'' Her tone didn't help as she turned to the vice president who gulped from her gaze. ''Yaomomo…'' Said teen braced herself. ''Truth or Dare?''
The creation user took a moment of consideration before sighing in resignation knowing Mina would find a way to make things difficult either way. ''I suppose….Truth.''
Mina smirked deviously. ''Tell me one thing about your crush.'' She ordered in a knowing tone
Although expecting this outcome, Momo blushed with wide eyes. ''W-What?'' Her eye briefly darted somewhere before looking down on her lap. ''C-Can you change the question?'' She fiddled with the hem of her shirt.
The pink teen giggled and wagged a finger. ''Nope!~'' She denied in a sing song voice. ''You made your choice and now you have to deal with the consequences.'' She crossed her arms smugly while the rest of her classmates gave varying looks of pity (a blank look in Bakugou's case and a mischievous look from Jiro) towards the vice president, knowing that Mina is right.
Momo looked like she was about to say something, but realizing that there was no way out of this, her words died in her throat before she looked down again with an even redder face. And after mentally cursing for her situation, she mumbled something that caused Mina to lean forwards with a growing grin. ''What was that?''
Though her embarrassment grew, Momo let out a huff before looking at the pink teen with a very red face. ''I said h-he's Handsome!'' She squeaked out before covering her face with her hands and whined in mortification as Jiro sneakily took a picture for her to tease with later. While off to the side, Todoroki stared at her with an unreadable expression before looking away as everyone else were mentally worried if they would have to go through the same question.
But unbeknownst to them, Mina caught the bi-colored teen and mentally squealed at her achievement as she shrugged. ''Meh, a bit obvious but I'll accept it.'' Momo looked up to her with a red face and a narrowed. ''But hey, you did it so it's your turn now.'' She added with a bit of encouragement, despite feeling giddy from uncovering a possible future couple.
Doing her best to calm herself, Momo took a breath before looking at Mina with a weary expression. ''Fine.'' The pink teen giggled mischievously as the vice president turned to the sugar quirk teen. ''Sato, Truth or Dare?'' She rubbed her temples.
The muscled teen crossed his arms in thought before readily smiling. ''I'm feeling brave right now, Dare.''
Hearing this Momo thought about what she should dare him to do, but was unfortunately still preoccupied with her earlier embarrassment. So, with this, she decided to do the next best thing. ''I dare you to make us some muffins.'' Mina gasped in excitement while her other classmates perked up.
Sato though, raised an eyebrow. ''You know…you don't need to dare me to make something for you guys.'' He pointed out with a chuckle as she blushed at the implications. But before she could speak, he waved it off. ''But it's fine, I wanted to have a dare anyway.'' He shrugged. ''Plus, there's this recipe I've been wanting to try out.''
Mina beamed at him. ''Woohoo! Nice bet Yaomomo!'' She cheered, much to said teen's embarrassment, before turning to the big teen with a double thumbs up. ''Looking forward to it!''
''Agreed, the Darkness awaits.'' Tokoyami said with a small smile as Dark Shadow emerged from his back. ''Make one for me too!'' The quirk demanded while its user sighed from its antics.
Momo looked like she wanted to go back on her dare, but seeing Todoroki look intrigued with having a muffin, she kept quiet and just nodded along.
''Sweet!'' Kirishima cheered with a toothy grin while Bakugou just grumbled about wasting time but didn't disagree with having a muffin.
Jiro just shrugged. ''Sure, sounds good.'' She turned to the green haired teen beside her. ''What bout you Midoriya?'' She kindly asked with a smile.
The OFA user blushed from her expression and looked away with a nod, not seeing how confused she was from him turning away. ''S-Sure, I'd love to have one.'' The music teen didn't say anything and didn't know why she felt a bit sad.
Kaminari looked excited. ''Nice.'' He grinned before coming to a realization. ''But uhhh, I think you should make a dare before you go do that.'' He pointed out.
Stopping himself from standing, Sato looked up with an 'oh' face before chuckling. ''Oh yeah, almost forgot.'' He sat back down with a sheepish expression before eyeing his classmates. ''Let's see…'' He hummed before his eyes landed on the bi-colored teen. ''Todoroki, Truth or Dare?'' He asked with a grin.
Now having the childhood that he did, Todoroki Shoto had never been introduced or even heard of how Truth or Dare is played. Sure his sister Fuyumi, his brother Natsuo and his mother Rei played a few games with him as a child from time to time. But it wasn't too often since he had to essentially do what he can back then to not grow power hungry like his father at the time.
So with this in mind, the bi-colored teen decided that the smartest thing to do would be to go with what everyone's been doing. ''Dare.'' He answered with his usual expression and tone.
Sato looked stumped for a moment before rubbing the back of his head. ''Damn, didn't think you'd pick a dare.'' He admitted before placing a finger on his chin. ''Now what's a good dare?'' He muttered before lighting up with a snap of his fingers. ''I got it!'' He grinned. ''I dare you to hold the hand of your cru-'' He stopped himself upon realizing that there was a possibility of his crush not being here in the first place. ''Oh shit, wait.'' He groaned and pinched the bridge of his nose. ''Sorry, sorry, didn't think that one through. Let's just-''
''Done.''
Snapping up with wide eyes Sato, along with everyone else, could only gape as the stoic teen stood up and casually sat next to Momo who froze from his sudden proximity, before squeaking with a red face as he grabbed her hand and looked to the muscled sugar user with an almost invisible blush. ''Is that all?'' He stoically asked as the creation teen looked torn between fainting or screaming.
After mentally rebooting, Sato could only dumbly nod. ''Y-Yeah…'' He quickly composed himself. ''I mean yeah. You did good man and uhhh, congrats?'' He added with a tone of surprise and uncertainty as the stoic teen nodded while Momo continued to eyed their interlocked hands with a red face. ''Wow, didn't think I'd be playing matchmaker tonight.'' The baker thought with a smile.
Mina was the next to reboot and squealed. ''Oh my gosh! Oh my gosh!'' Everyone else rebooted after her shout. ''This is big news!'' She reached for her phone, only to stop with a groan. ''Darn it Toru, why did you have to go on a date now!?'' She whined before pocketing her phone, mentally noting to update her invisible friend of the emergence of the new ship sailed.
''U-Umm, congrats Yaoyorozu and you too Todoroki.'' Midoriya said with a smile while beside him, Jiro snapped a picture of the couple, much to the mortification of Momo.
As everyone said similar statements, Todoroki finally noticed how embarrassed Momo is and decided to do something. ''Sato.'' The muscled teen looked to him. ''Do you need an extra hand with the muffins?'' The woman beside him caught on to what he was doing and looked to the sugar teen with a pleading look, albeit still red.
Sato was about to say that he could handle it, but upon seeing the looks the two are giving him. He decided to help them out. ''Sure thing man.'' He figured that he would do most of the baking while they talked and get things sorted out. ''The more the merrier.'' He said before standing up and making his way to the kitchen with the duo not far behind.
Mina looked ready to join when something grabbed her wrist, looking down she saw that Jiro's jacks are holding her back. She was about to protest but a stern look and a shake of the head from the punk rock teen stopped her. ''Let them be.'' She silently mouthed while beside her, Midoriya gave her look that basically conveyed the same message, albeit kinder.
The pinkette then switched between the duo and the retreating trio before nodding with a sigh. ''Fine.'' Jiro retracted her jacks. ''I'll let them be.'' Mina agreed with a light pout as she sat back down and rubbed her wrist while Jiro and Midoriya gave her a look of approval. ''Who's next?''
Upon asking that, Todoroki stopped for a moment glanced back at the group. ''Tokoyami.'' The shadow user listened in attention. ''Truth or Dare?'' He asked with a hint of impatience as Momo watched the interaction, still mindful of their linked hands.
Tokoyami was silent in contemplation before shrugging. ''Dare.''
The bi-colored teen stood for a moment before speaking. ''I dare you to recite a Haiku.'' He said before pulling a still embarrassed Momo with him to the kitchen.
''Oof, sounds rough.'' Kaminari winced, having a full experience of how difficult English class is from Present Mic while everyone else couldn't help but think how tricky the dare is. Even Midoriya, despite knowing the English language himself, would often struggle when it came to the more poetic or rhyming side of it.
But surprisingly, Tokoyami didn't look bothered by this. ''On the contrary, I believe I can accomplish this dare.'' Everyone turned to him in surprise. ''You see, when one is within the darkness, you would need something to keep your mind at work while at the same time, allow you to learn.'' He explained in a grim but somewhat proud tone.
…
…
…
Upon noticing that no one had said anything and just gave him blank looks, Tokoyami looked at them with an eyebrow raised. While this happened, Kirishima, in his own way, had managed to understand what he was saying. ''So…in simple terms.'' He stated while his classmates rebooted and turned to him. ''You like reading poems and stuff in your free time?'' He asked in a tone of curiosity and uncertainty, hoping that he got it right.
The shadow user sighed before nodding. ''In simple terms, yes.'' He stood up and cleared his throat. ''Shall we begin?'' His question was met agreements from everyone causing him to nod. ''Very well.'' He stood tall, took a deep breath before looking serious.
''Kare eda ni.'' (On a withered branch)
''Karasu no tomarikeri.'' (A crow is perched)
''Aki no kure.'' (An autumn evening)
At the end of the haiku, Midoriya and Jiro looked at him in astonishment while the rest looked impressed but lost at the same time. ''Woah…that sounded good.'' Kaminari admitted before rubbing the back of his head in embarrassment. ''Kinda wish I knew what you meant by it though.'' He added sheepishly.
Tokoyami could only sigh. ''No offense taken my friend.'' He waved off before returning to his seat. ''I can understand the confusion.'' He lightly shook his head. ''After all, the art of poetry is not often focused on and appreciated.'' He grimly added.
While the electric user and the others felt bad, Midoriya interjected. ''That's not true at all Tokoyami!'' The shadow user looked to him in shock. ''I'm sure there are tons of people who love poetry.'' He pointed to himself with a smile. ''Take me for example, whenever Present Mic teaches us about famous writers. I'd research about their famous works out of curiosity and find myself absorbed in them!'' He proudly admitted while Tokoyami looked floored.
Off to the side, Bakugou quietly scoffed. ''Tch, nerd.'' He grunted from an elbow to the ribs, curtesy Kirishima who gave him a disapproving look.
''Poetry is awesome in every way.'' Jiro added which caused everyone to look at her in shock, not expecting her to be as passionate. ''Think about it this way, without poetry, music probably wouldn't be a thing or as good.'' Her point caused them all to think. ''Don't get me wrong, tons of music out there sound good even without words.'' She admitted. ''But, when sound isn't enough, words are often needed to send the message.'' She smiled.
The group was silent as they thought about her points, before realizing how right she is. Sound can set the mood or send a message on its own. But to those who aren't as perceptive or experienced in music, details like that would simply go by unnoticed.
Another moment passed, before Tokoyami let out a rare inward chuckle. ''I stand corrected.'' He nodded to himself as he closed his eyes and crossed his arms. ''It appears poetry isn't as underappreciated as I originally thought.'' He opened his eyes and looked to Jiro and Midoriya with a look of appreciation. ''And it seems that a new insight has been opened to me.'' The duo smiled at his direction.
''I hear that.'' Kirishima agreed with a grin that turned embarrassed as he scratched the back of his head. ''Now I kinda feel bad for not paying attention to class.'' He admitted before lighting up as he turned to Bakugou. ''Hey Bakubro, wanna tutor me?'' He asked with a grin.
The explosive teen scoffed and turned away. ''Don't drag me into its shitty hair.'' The hardening teen's expression faltered. ''It's not my fault that take fucking naps in class.'' Kaminari and Mina looked away with nervous grins, knowing that they were guilty of napping as well.
''Oh…'' Kirishima drooped and looked down. ''Ok.'' His classmates couldn't help but compare him to an abandoned puppy at the moment.
Bakugou glanced at him, scrunched up his face for a moment before groaning. ''For fucks sake.'' He huffed as he pinched the bridge of his nose. ''Fine, I'll help you study tomorrow.'' He growled out, thinking about the free time he had just sacrificed.
And like a firework, Kirishima instantly perked up as he turned to the explosive teen with his biggest and brightest smile. ''For real?'' The teen merely grunted in affirmative, causing Kirishima's smile to grow. ''You're the best bro!''
With a hint of embarrassment, Bakugou turned away from his gaze and grumbled something to himself as Mina and Kaminari gave him pleading looks. ''Could you teach us-''
But Bakugou wasn't having any of it and snapped at the duo with a withering glare. ''You shitting me?'' The two winced from his tone and question. ''Why in the hell would I-'' He caught Kirishima giving him a pleading look, causing his right eye to twitch. ''Ugh, Fine!'' He barked causing the hardening teen to beam at him while Mina and Kaminari high-fived each other.
As the trio had a mini celebration, Bakugou ran a hand down his face with a sigh before glancing at the others who had varying expressions. Midoriya looked stunned, Jiro looked smug, Tokoyami had a small and knowing smirk. And from the latter's back, with its hands perched on his shoulders, Dark Shadow eyed the explosive teen with a teasing look as he quietly imitated a whip being cracked.
Seeing this, Bakugou immediately glared at them with a small blush. ''What are you fuckers looking at!?'' He barked as he stood with his palms ready. ''Got something to say huh!?'' He added as he produced rapid mini explosions.
In response to the flashing lights, Dark Shadow yelped and retreated back into Tokoyami with a laugh while the latter retained his expression. Midoriya hastily looked away while Jiro's smug expression grew a bit. ''Nah, I don't think there's anything to be said.'' She formed a shit eating grin. ''Bakubro.'' She teased, causing the OFA user to quickly cover his mouth as a chuckle nearly escaped him while the red on Bakugou's face had grown into a mix of anger and embarrassment. And if looks could kill, Jiro would have been ashes by now.
And for a moment, the blond teen looked ready to commit murder before a snicker stopped him. Snapping to the source he saw Mina and Kaminari snickering as Kirishima gave him a sheepish look that held a hidden message to it.
Bakugou falters a bit and switched his gaze between the hardening teen and Jiro a few times before eventually loosening up with a huff. He then flipped them all off with both hands before sitting back down with his arms crossed, grumbling to himself as everyone stared at him in amusement.
After chuckling inwardly, Tokoyami looked to Kirishima. ''As interesting as that was…'' He wasn't fazed as Bakugou flipped him off again. ''I believe it's your turn now.''
Realizing his point, the hardening teen user grinned excitedly. ''Alright!'' He pumped his fist. ''Since everyone's been more daring tonight it would be unmanly of me to-''
''Hold it!'' To everyone's surprise, Dark Shadow emerged from a surprised Tokoyami's chest to point at the ed haired teen. ''Dares are overused, go with truth instead!'' He challenged with a pointed look, ignoring his users scolding while in the background, Midoriya added more mental notes about sentient quirks.
And though surprised from the intervention, Kirishima toothily grinned. ''Well, wasn't expecting this.'' He laughed as Tokoyami grumbled at his misfortune. ''But I'm not one to turn back from a challenge.'' He crossed his arms and puffed up his chest. ''Give it your best shot!''
Satisfied, the quirk was about to return but a hand on his head stopped him. ''I don't think so.'' The quirk turned to Tokoyami's stern expression in shock. ''You interfered, now you must finish what you started.'' He added grimly as Midoriya mumbled some of his observations about the interaction while Jiro watches and listens in fascination.
Dark Shadow looked shocked from the begrudging permission, but eventually became giddy. ''Now that's more like it!'' He turned to Kirishima with a laugh while Tokoyami prayed that he wasn't going to regret this. ''Since you're so manly.'' He did air quotes which caused his user to facepalm while Mina and Jiro thought it looked cute. ''Have you ever had a childhood moment where you were unmanly'' He crossed his arms with a challenging look.
While Tokoyami looked relieved with the quirk's question, Kirishima looked pale all of a sudden, much to the confusion of everyone else. ''U-Uhhmm.'' He lowered his arms with a shaky grin. ''Can you be a bro and change the question?'' He asked with a reluctant expression.
But to his dismay, the quirk merely smirked at him. ''Nope!'' Dark Shadow turned to his user with a smug look as Kirishima slumped. ''You're welcome for the entertainment.'' He stated before disappearing into Tokoyami who sighed in relief.
With the quirk gone, Bakugou turned to the hardening teen with a stern expression. ''Well, get on with it shitty hair!'' He ordered with a growl.
Kirishima snapped at him with an incredulous look. ''You can't be serious bro.''
''You damn right I am.'' Bakugou retorted with narrowed eyes as he formed a shit eating grin. ''Bro.'' Meanwhile everyone else was more than curious now as they gave him their full attention, Mina especially wanted to know since she and the red head had been friends for a long time.
Seeing this, Kirishima looked like he wanted to be anywhere else, but still wanted to reason with them. ''Come on guys, is this really a big deal?'' No one answered, giving him the chance. ''I mean my childhood's been full of manly stuff!'' He proudly pointed to his chest despite a drop of sweat on the side of his face. ''So believe me when I say, there is absolutely nothing unmanly about-''
''Lie.''
Stopping himself, Kirishima along with everyone else turned to an unimpressed Jiro in shock. ''W-What?''
The musical teen raised an eyebrow. ''You know….funny thing about my hearing quirk.'' She lazily raised her earphone jacks as everyone eyed them. ''It makes a good lie detector too.'' She pointed with a smirk.
Apart from Midoriya who was calm since he already knew this, everyone was shocked before remembering that Jiro's quirk does in fact allow her to become a lie detector since her quirk can hear someone's heart stuttering when they lie.
Case in point, a while back Mineta was seen carrying a box into his room. When questioned if it was anything lewd, he said that it wasn't. Only for Jiro to call him out on it which encouraged Ida to inspect its contents.
Needless to say, a lot of material within the box was disposed of or sent back to his home that day, much to the horror Mineta.
''Now if you were a good liar.'' She continued, snapping everyone out of their thoughts. ''I probably wouldn't have known any better.'' She gave him a knowing look. ''But then again…you're not the type to lie, are you?'' She rhetorically asked as everyone, apart from Midoriya who stared at her in awe, turned to the nervous teen.
Realizing that he was effectively cornered now, Kirishima racked his brain for anything but couldn't and eventually just slumped in resignation. ''….No, I'm not.'' He sighed in defeat. ''Lying is unmanly.'' He added.
With her curiosity peaking, Mina looked hungry for details. ''Sounds like you've been holding out on me horn buddy.'' She leaned in while from his spot, Bakugou listened in attention. ''Don't hold back now.'' She encouraged with a look that promised future teasing while everyone else just listened.
Kirishima mentally debated on just running for his life, but he figured that there was no way he could outrun Bakugou or Mina if they used their quirk so he just nodded with a sigh. ''Alright, there's one unmanly moment that I'm embarrassed about-''
''Lie.'' Jiro casually interjected with an amused expression while some of her classmates snickered.
Though red in the face now, Kirishima persisted. ''Anyway.'' He sighed again. ''When I was a kid, I had pretty long hair.'' He smiled fondly. ''Having long hair runs in the family, regardless if you're a girl or not. The only reason my hair looks short now is because I make sure to get a haircut when it starts getting long.'' He shrugged. ''Makes it easier to manage, especially when I prefer being able to see in the field.''
Everyone nodded along, following him so far. ''So anyways, I had long hair as a kid, to point where it would reach my shoulders if I didn't cut it.'' He frowned with a blush. ''It looked good but then my mom would…'' He looked away, his blush increasing. ''Tie my hair into pigtails and take pictures.'' He groaned as he covered his face with both hands. ''For some reason, childhood me didn't see the problem with it until I grew up and learned that she kept some of it in the family albums.''
As some of his classmates looked at him with sympathy, Bakugou guffawed while Mina squealed. ''That's so cute!'' She cooed before leaning in with an eager grin. ''Do you have any photos on your phone?''
The color drained from Kirishima's face for a millisecond before he caught himself and looked to Mina with a nervous frown. ''My turn's finished.'' He pointed out, hoping that Mina didn't catch his slip up earlier.
But being socially perceptive and knowing him the longest, she did. ''That wasn't a no~.'' She teased with a knowing look and tone.
While Kirishima wanted to go and hide somewhere, Bakugou recovered from his laughter and aimed a pointed look at him. ''Personally, I don't give a shit if Raccoon eyes sees it or not.'' Mina pouted at the nickname. ''But I'm definitely going to.'' He narrowed his eyes.
The red-haired teen looked at him aghast. ''Bro…no'' He rapidly shook his head. ''I mean why should I?'' He nervously fired back. ''You don't even care about-''
''You're right, I don't.'' Bakugou cut him off and crossed his arms. ''But consider it payback and payment for my tutoring services tomorrow.'' Kirishima's eyes widened. ''No photo. No Tutoring.''
Kirishima wasn't the only one unhappy with this as Mina and Kaminari looked troubled with having no tutor. The hardening teen then weighed his options, he could just ask someone else to help him. But the thing is, he had already asked the students in English for help multiple times already.
Sure, he knew they wouldn't mind helping, but the fact wouldn't help the trio feel better knowing that they were constantly borrowing time from them. It would make Kirishima, Mina and Kaminari feel like they were using them rather learning anything themselves.
So, with this thought, Kirishima bowed his head. ''Fine.'' He raised his head and offered a hand. ''You've got yourself a deal.'' He stated with a hardened expression.
''Good choice.'' Bakugou smirked and firmly shook Kirishima's hand. ''I'll have my notes ready by tomorrow.'' They released hands. ''Don't worry shitty hair, I won't share what I see.'' He added which helped ease the red head.
While Kaminari looked relived that they still had a tutor, Mina felt like she had been robbed. ''No fair!'' She smacked her palm on the floor and pointed to the duo with an accusatory expression. ''We're supposed to be 'horn buddies' right?''
Bakugou just looked smug while Kirishima sighed with a sheepish grin. ''Yeah, but I did ask for his free time tomorrow. So it would have been unmanly to pay him back in some way.'' He explained apologetically. ''Besides knowing you, there would have been absolutely no way for you let me live it down.''
Mina understood but still pouted at him. ''Some childhood friend you turned out to be!'' She stuck her tongue out at them and turned away with her arms crossed causing the hardening user to feel guilty.
Jiro audibly cleared her throat, gaining their attention. ''If you guys are done, I'd like to finish the game.'' She turned to the red-haired teen. ''It's your turn now Kirishima.'' She pointed out with slight haste in her voice.
Realizing her point, Kirishima went silent in thought before his eyes widened for a moment. ''Wait…'' A small smirk formed on his face. ''I think I can make it up to you Mina.'' He looked to the explosive teen beside him. ''Truth or Dare Bakubro?''
Bakugou noticed the expression and gave him a weird look but shrugged it off. ''Dare.'' He gruffly answered in a dismissive tone.
''Too easy.'' Kirishima's smirk grew. ''Alright bro, I dare you to make a sentence without cursing.'' He challenged in a tone that made him look like the victor.
The explosive teen stared at him blankly before scoffing. ''That's fucking easy shitty hair.'' He grumbled before freezing with a stunned expression.
''…''
''…''
''…''
Kirishima immediately exploded in laughter. ''Not even a second!'' He guffawed and held his stomach while Mina and Kaminari joined in the laughter.
Midoriya and Jiro gave the explosive teen flat looks as Tokoyami closed his eyes and shook his head with his arms crossed. ''So uncivilized.'' He grimly stated as Dark Shadow cackled within him.
Recovering from his mistake, Bakugou growled. ''That doesn't count you assholes!'' The laughter grew from his mistake. ''Shut the fuck up!'' He stood up and emitted mini explosions from his palms. ''I can do it you bastards!'' Jiro, Midoriya and Tokoyami instinctively facepalmed at his attempts. ''Come on just give me a fuckin-'' He grimaced before grabbing his hair. ''God Damnit!'' He roared.
''Careful.'' Kaminari warned between chuckles as Kirishima and Mina had to lean on each other for support from laughing so much. ''You might hurt yourself.'' He added before coughing into his hand with a laugh.
From his stance, Bakugou snapped at the electric teen with a murderous glare that made the electric teen finch. ''Shut up you fucking smoothed brain excuse for a tazer!'' Kaminari looked visibly hurt by the comment while Jiro couldn't help but snort at the comment and store it away for future use.
He then snapped at Kirishima who was still smiling wide. ''And you!'' The hardening teen met his gaze. ''What the hell was that for shitty hair!?'' He practically demanded for answers.
But to this, Kirishima remained unfazed and merely shrugged. ''Consider it payback and payment for earlier bro.'' He stated with a smug look that Bakugou wanted to wipe off, but realized that they were essentially even now so he just huffed and sat back down to mutter profanities to himself. ''Good job by the way.'' He chuckled at the silent middle finger directed at him. ''Your turn.''
After one more huff, Bakugou grumbled about a shitty night before looking to Jiro. ''Earlobes, Truth or Dare?''
Brushing off the nickname, the musical teen gave it some thought and decided that she didn't want to do anything physical tonight. ''Truth.'' She lazily answered, knowing that unlike Mina and Kaminari, he's one of the people here she could trust not to go overboard with questions.
Bakugou grunted before going off with what came first to his mind. ''Can you play any instrument?''
Jiro hummed but gave a 'so-so' gestured with her right hand. ''Kind of, I can play basics with a lot of instruments.'' She shrugged. ''But I'm mostly experienced with guitars.''
The explosive teen looked impressed but didn't say anything while Kaminari looked let down. ''Pretty basic there man.'' Everyone turned to him. ''I mean, we've already seen her room and-''
''Is that a problem?'' Bakugou interrupted in a threatening tone.
Kaminari immediately back pedaled. ''N-No.'' He gulped.
Jiro rolled her eyes. ''Guess it's my turn now.'' She looked to the electric teen who was still shrinking from Bakugou's gaze. ''Truth or Dare jamming whey?''
While still eyeing the angry teen, Kaminari absentmindedly stuttered out. ''D-Dare.'' He froze and realize his mistake. ''W-Wait-''
''Nope, too late to turn back now.'' Jiro interrupted with mischievous expression as Kaminari slumped in resignation. ''I dare you to charge phones that were brought here.'' She raised her phone that had a half charge.
Upon hearing this, Kaminari instantly perked up, much to everyone's surprise. ''That's it?'' He stated in before grinning in victory. ''Alright then, plug in your charging chords and hand them over.'' He encouraged with a beckoning hand.
And with that. Bakugou, Midoriya, and Mina had left to retrieve their phone charger cables since they were the only ones (apart from Jiro) who actually had their phones on them that needed some charging. Tokoyami and Kirishima explained that their phones are already on full charge so it would be a waste.
While Todoroki, Momo and Sato are obviously excused since they are currently preoccupied in the kitchen.
30 MINUTES LATER
After giving back everyone's phones, Kaminari removed the charging cords from his mouth and set them aside as he returned to his spot to cross his arms in triumph. ''Piece of cake.'' He smugly claimed as everyone gathered their respective charging chords.
Bakugou grimaced from the spit on his charging chord but wasn't going to complain since he had a full charge now while Kirishima chuckled at his expense. ''Wow dude, you actually pulled it off!'' Mina beamed as she neatly kept her charging chord in her pocket.
''It is rather impressive.'' Tokoyami agreed as he observed the electric user. ''But are you not tired?''
To the question, Kaminari formed a wide grin. ''Normally I would, but I've been training hard with my quirk, so I'm not exactly the same guy you met on the first day!'' He boasted with a thumb on his chest.
''Shame.'' Jiro casually commented as she pocketed her stuff while beside her, Midoriya was muttering to himself about the extended possibilities' of Kaminari's quirk. ''I was expecting a short circuit from you.'' She shrugged with a disappointed sigh before smiling a bit. ''But I'm glad you've been improving 'Jamming whey'.'' She added before observing the OFA user's mutterings with interest.
Kaminari though, narrowed his eyes. ''Wait a minute…'' His tone became suspicious. ''Jiro.'' Said teen idly hummed as she focused on Midoriya's mutterings. ''Were you….expecting me to short circuit?'' He accused in an annoyed tone.
Jiro nodded and waved a hand, not seeing Kaminari's appalled expression. ''Well, yeah.'' She shrugged. ''But you didn't, so it's all fine now.'' She added still fascinated with Midoriya's mutterings as well as Tokoyami who sat on the opposite side of the nerdy teen.
Meanwhile Kaminari took offense to that and was about to speak again until an idea came to him. He then looked between Midoriya and Jiro before smiling deviously as a plan to get back at her came to mind. ''Hey Midoriya.''
Hearing his name being called, said teen snapped out of his mutterings and looked embarrassed as he noted that everyone was looking at him. ''O-Oh s-sorry everybody!'' He let out an awkward laugh. ''Guess I got lost in my own thoughts.'' Kirishima gave him a thumbs up while Bakugou just rolled his eyes. ''What is it Kaminari?'' He asked while beside him, Jiro looked annoyed from the interruption.
Seeing this, Kaminari smiled widely. ''Since we're pretty much done with everyone, I figured we should go back to the start for one more round before we end it.'' Jiro narrowed her eyes at him. ''So, Truth or Dare dude?'' He asked with a noticeably excited tone.
Midoriya though, didn't pay this to mind as he weighed his options. So far the dares tonight have been relatively harmless which is definitely a step up from previous game nights. And since it's Kaminari asking, he can have some assurance that he wouldn't go too far with his turn.
Plus, there's also the fact that this is the last turn for the night so he might as well make it interesting.
So, with this in mind, Midoriya decided to just go with it. ''Dare.'' He responded while beside him, Jiro remained wary.
Kaminari looked smug now. ''I dare you to compliment Jiro.''
The effect was immediate as Jiro looked slack jawed for a second before glaring hatefully at the teen as she stood up. ''What the hell Kaminari!?'' She screamed with her ear jacks poised to strike as Midoriya blushed and looked down at his lap while everyone else was shocked.
But Kaminari wasn't intimidated and simply raised his hands. ''What? I'm just playing the game like it's supposed to be played.'' He gave her an innocent look. ''And as I recall, this doesn't go against the rules of our agreement.'' He grinned. ''Is there a problem?'' He asked in an amused tone.
Oh there's a problem all right, Jiro wasn't blind. She knew that she was the least feminine girl in the class. She isn't as curvy as her classmate nor is she the most paid attention to. Even Mineta, the class pervert of all people didn't consider her attractive.
Hell, most people that she noticed never seemed to find her attractive or even see and acknowledge her as a girl, just because she's a bit boyish.
Even during her younger days, boys and girls would often confuse her for a boy because of how she was built or how she dressed. Only those who knew her, namely her parents and close friends, wouldn't make that mistake.
And with that, her insecurities began creeping up, causing her stance to falter as she turned away from the group with a scowl. ''I don't need this.'' She began walking away towards the stairs, ignoring Kaminari, Kirishima and Mina's protests. ''Go ahead and play your game, I'll be-''
''That might be a problem Kaminari.''
Freezing from the voice, Jiro along with everyone else looked to Midoriya who had a conflicted expression. ''W-What do you mean Midoriya?'' Kaminari asked, dreading the possibility of him saying anything negative while the musical teen braced herself for anything.
Midoriya looked away, causing Jiro to feel a pit form in her stomach. ''It's a problem because…'' A light blush formed on his cheeks. ''W-Well, there's just too many things for me to compliment her about.'' He admitted with a head rub.
''Huh?'' Jiro fully turned to look at him disbelief. ''Midoriya.'' The teen flinched from her tone. ''What are you trying to say?'' She eyed him more carefully, wondering why he looked so nervous. Why his heart was beating so fast, why he didn't want to look her in the eye, why he was blushing-
Her eyes widened as thought came to her, surely he couldn't be…
Her musings were cut short when Midoriya let out a heavy sigh and looked at her with a serious expression that rooted her in place. ''It means that once I start complimenting you, I don't think I'll be able to stop.''
There was a heavy silence after that statement, so quiet in fact that a pin dropping could be heard from it.
But eventually, the silence was broken by Jiro. ''…why?'' She asked in a whisper.
Midoriya appeared to have anticipated the question as he responded immediately. ''Because everything about you is amazing.'' His straightforward and overall honest appearance caused butterflies to flutter in her stomach.
But despite this, Jiro couldn't help but be skeptical. ''O-Oh come on.'' She looked to the side, unable to meet his intense gaze. ''You're just saying that.'' She idly twirled her left ear jack with a frown. ''I'm not really anything special. My quirk's limiting and I'm not exactly femini-''
''You're wrong!'' Midoriya shouted as he abruptly stood, causing her to jolt and snap to him in shock. ''You're an amazing person Jiro!'' He began to walk towards her. ''Your cool, calm, witty and have a passion for music that I dare say is unmatched by anyone.'' He was getting close. ''So what if you're a bit boyish, that just adds to your many charms. Anyone who can't see that honestly have no idea what they're saying.'' He said with complete honesty.
By now, the butterflies in her stomach had turned into a full-blown storm of emotions within her. And as he approached a part of her wanted to walk away, to tell him that he was wrong and that nothing he said is true. But something within herself urged her to stay and wait for him.
And before she knew it, he stood before her, causing her to look up into his eyes that are solely focused on her. ''Simply put, all these things about you are beautiful because they make you….you'' He gently grabbed her right hand, causing a surge of electricity to go through her and her blush to increase. ''So, don't bring yourself down like that, because believe me.'' He smiled warmly. ''You're perfect the way you are.'' He gently squeezed her hand.
A part of Jiro was impressed how her heart hadn't burst from her by how hard it was beating. In all her years, no one had ever complimented her or spoke to her in such a way. Sure, her parents would say her good points but that's a normal thing and yes people did compliment her when it came to her musical skills, but not once had they talked about her physical traits.
And yet, here's Izuku Midoriya, passionately describing her as if she's the most perfect woman on the world. Her, out of the girls in the class, someone who's plain and not as curvy as everyone else. Someone who didn't have a lot curves or a peppy personality like the rest.
Praising her in a way that she wouldn't need her quirk to know that he meant every single word.
Swallowing a lump in her throat, Jiro stared at their joined hands and couldn't help but think how ironic this situation is. If the scenario was reversed, she's sure that she'd say the same things about him. Out of all the boys in the class; she had no doubts that he was one of the smartest, strongest, heroic and most selfless person out there.
Plus, there's the fact that he works way harder than anyone else.
He'd risk his body more times that she can count and he'd gladly do it again if it meant saving someone. Through all the time they've spent together as classmates, time and time again he would raise the bar on what it means to be a hero. It wouldn't matter if he had to punch Shigaraki to save Tsuyu, gain scars to help Todoroki, face a mass murderer to save that Kota kid or risk his stay in U.A. to save Bakugou. He'd do it all anyway, because that's what heroes do.
And yeah, he's a little plain looking, but honestly? That isn't a negative.
While Jiro was lost in her thoughts, Midoriya realized that he had not only invaded her personal space but also held her hand without thought. ''S-Sorry.'' He released her hand, leaving her to clutch it in thought. ''I guess I went too far.'' He looked away ashamed.
''…'' She stared at her hand with an unreadable expression.
Hearing no response from her only added to the guilt as he back away with a sigh. ''I'm sorry for getting in your personal space like that.'' He looked away and rubbed the back of his head with a frown. ''I understand if you don't want to play anymore, that's your choice to make.'' He looked at his feet. ''I also understand if your angry at me for-''
''Do you mean it?''
Snapping up in surprise, Izuku saw Jiro looking at him with an embarrassed but serious expression as she idly twiddled with her thumbs. ''Did you mean what you said?'' She repeated, her blush increasing.
''Every word.'' He replied without hesitation as he recomposed himself and his expression grew serious again.
A part of Jiro expected the response, but that didn't her blush growing as she looked away. ''O-Oh.'' She twirled her right ear jack.
''Cute.'' He thought before refocusing. ''Look Jiro…'' he sighed. ''I'm sorry for-''
But she wasn't having any of it. ''When did you start liking me?'' She bluntly asked as she looked back at him, she figured that it was best to not beat around the bush.
On the outside, Midoriya did not show any reaction. But thanks to her quirk, Jiro could hear his heartrate pickup for a moment. Almost as if he was expecting and dreading that exact question. ''I…'' He looked away from her, indirectly solidifying her hypothesis. ''For a while now.'' He finally admitted before looking back at her with a small and shy smile. ''Since I first saw you actually.''
Hiding her shock and her growing embarrassment, Jiro soldiered on. ''Why didn't you say anything?''
Midoriya shrugged. ''Didn't have the guts.'' He rubbed the back of his head. ''The first time I saw you, I immediately thought you were the coolest girl in our class.'' He shook his head as he chuckled. ''Cheesy, I know, but it's the truth.'' Jiro's ear jacks subconsciously wagged a little back and forth from his words.
His smile then became a little sad which she immediately didn't like on him. ''But then…as we spent more time as classmates. I realized that there was no way someone as cool as you would notice me. I tried to muster up the courage to speak to you, I really did.'' He looked down with a sigh. ''But I'm just….too plain looking, and the fact that I don't know much about music didn't help either.''
He idly gripped the hem of his shirt. ''And when you sang at the festival and wowed everyone with your voice, I knew there was no hope.'' She frowned at his words, despite blushing at his praise. ''How's someone like me, supposed to be noticed by someone as amazing as you?'' He looked up at her with expression of admiration.
Jiro was worried that her knees would buckle while at the same time, she wanted to hide from how pure his feelings are towards her. But doing her best to keep calm, she instead looked away from his warm gaze. ''You still could've said something.'' She mumbled as she held her twitching jacks in place.
But Midoriya heard her and lightly shrugged. ''Like I said, no guts at the time.'' He pointed out she glanced back at him. ''But hey, at least I said something now.'' He lightly grinned at his joke.
Jiro returned the grin, as she couldn't help but giggle a bit. ''Yeah, you certainly did.''
Both teens smiled at each other before looking away with uncertainty as silence followed. It's clear that there's more to be said, but with things so out in the open now, it's hard to find the right approach to the situation.
Funny how fighting villains seems lightyears easier than figuring out your feelings.
Eventually though, Jiro decided to break the silence. ''You know…you're amazing yourself Midoriya.'' She pointed out with a blush.
Midoriya turned to her in confusion before registering her words and wore a rare skeptical expression. ''Come on Jiro, I'm not-''
''Shut up.'' She interrupted and he clammed up. ''If I have to endure being praised, so do you.'' Jiro stepped closer to him with a stern and embarrassed expression.
Midoriya blushed from the sudden proximity but stood his ground. ''W-Well…'' He paused, not sure where this was going. ''What now?''
Now it was Jiro's turn to pause, considering her words before turning to him with a smile. ''It occurs to me that I haven't gotten to know you as much as you have for me. So...how about we hang out for a bit?'' She offered kindly.
''...hang out?'' Midoriya could hardly believe the implications.
She nodded. ''Yeah, I mean…'' She glanced away and twirled an earphone jack around her finger. ''Deep Dope recently released a new album and I never got a chance to listen to it with all the training we've been doing lately.'' She shrugged. ''So I figured we can listen to it together in my room and get to know each other better.''
Normally she would warn a boy before entering her room to not do any funny business, but since this is Izuku Midoriya, she can confidently trust him.
Jiro then froze, realizing that he hadn't responded to her offer yet and she had practically jumped the gun. ''I-If it's cool with you anyway. I mean it's not like I'm forcing you to do it with me right now-'' She cringed and a massive blush grew on her face at her wording. ''W-Wait that came out wrong.'' She mentally cursed herself for losing her composure. ''Shit, hang on. What I meant to say is…''
While she fumbled (adorably in his opinion) with her words, Midoriya couldn't help but watch her in shock as the normally cool and calm Jiro act as dorky as he would whenever he was embarrassed. While at the same time, comprehending the fact that a girl, his crush for that matter, invited him over to her room to hang out of all places.
From the beginning his journey to become a hero, he had expected to witness many unbelievable things. But this moment right here, may just top it all.
Midoriya was brought out his musings when he realized that Jiro still hadn't gotten her proper thoughts out there. So, in a surge of courage, he stepped forward and gently grabbed her hand, causing her to stop and look up to him in shock. ''I'd love to…'' He smiled warmly and intertwined their fingers. ''Kyouka.''
Jiro was certain that she would become deaf with how fast their hearts are beating right now. But she brushed off the thought as she returned the smile. ''Good to know…'' She gently tightened the grip on his hand as her jack wagged a bit. ''Izuku.'' She replied affectionately, her blush growing as this is the first time she had ever used a boy's first name.
Midoriya beamed at her before realizing something. ''Oh.'' He suddenly looked sheepish. ''Can we make a quick stop at my room first?'' She gave him a curious look from the request. ''I need to add some notes on Kaminari and Tokoyami's quirk to my Hero Journal.'' He explained with sight embarrassment.
Now understanding the request, Jiro smiled. ''You're such a nerd.'' She shook her head as he chuckled and didn't deny her statement. ''All right, let's go get your notebook.'' She turned away from his happy expression before it could blind her and began leading him to the elevator. ''Just don't take too long to get it, we're wasting enough time as it is.'' She playfully warned and really hoped that red wasn't going to become their permanent complexion.
Unbeknownst to her, Midoriya was thinking along the same lines as he allowed her to drag him with a smile. ''Yes ma'am.'' He jokingly replied before chuckling as her jacks went behind her and lightly smacked his arms as she giggled.
As both teens entered the elevator to the boy's section of the dorms, Midoriya wore a content expression before feeling Jiro leaning on his shoulder. Looking down she had wrapped an arm around his right one with the same expression.
Seeing this, Midoriya felt warmth throughout him as he readjusted himself, Jiro allowing the movement as she released him, and wrapped his now free arm around her shoulder instead. Allowing the two to be closer, causing the two to smile wider as a response while the elevator doors closed.
Effectively leaving everyone else frozen in place from the shock of the unexpected turn of events.
…
…
…
Eventually Sato Emerged from the kitchen with a tray of freshly baked muffins. ''Food's ready!'' he called out while behind him, Todoroki and Momo followed hand in hand. The vice president blushing but otherwise, content.
But the trio halted as they saw everyone's frozen state. ''Woah, what happened here?'' Sato asked as Todoroki and Momo looked at the group in bewilderment. If they didn't know any better, it looked a villain had hit them with a time stopping quirk.
Being the first to breath again, Kirishima struggled to find the right words before eventually saying what came to mind instead. ''I think Midoribro has a girlfriend now.''
Sato nodded in understanding as he set the muffins down in the middle of the group. ''Yep, that'll do it.'' He agreed as he sat back down.
''Congratulations are in order then.'' Todoroki casually stated as he sat back down with Momo beside him. The latter nodding in agreement as she leaned against him, still getting used to having a boyfriend now.
Tokoyami nodded as he settled in his place. ''Indeed.'' Dark Shadow emerged from his back and raised its fist in the air. ''Whoohoo! New couple!'' It cheered as its user sighed tiredly but just allowed the quirk to be happy.
From his spot, Kaminari had buried his face in his hands with a grimace, knowing that he would be getting hell from an outraged Mineta for inadvertently becoming someone else's wingman tonight.
Their discussions were silenced when Mina's had rebooted and abruptly stood from her spot. ''To heck with it! This is too big to pass up!'' She grabbed her phone hurriedly pressed on her keypad before putting her device next to her ear. ''Come on…come one…'' She impatiently tapped her foot before perking up as the ringing stopped. ''Toru listen! I know this is a bad time but!-''
Mina winced and pulled the phone away from the ear as a loud voice could be heard, causing others to wince as well. But as the voice stopped, the pink teen put her phone back to her ear, nodding to whatever the invisible teen is saying. ''I know…I know, my timing sucks, I know.'' She agreed with an embarrassed expression. ''But I swear this is important.'' She stated in a placating manner.
They could imagine Toru sighing at the other end of the line before reluctantly asking what was up, causing Mina to perk up. ''Two ships have sailed! I repeat! Two ships have sailed!'' She cheered before eagerly waiting for the invisible teen's response.
Apparently she didn't disappoint as Mina's grin widened. ''I told you it's worth the interruption!'' She cheered before she walked away from the group, chatting with Toru along the way. Causing some of them to sigh at the duo's antics, they could guess Ojiro sighing as well but knowing him, he wouldn't be bothered by it.
Meanwhile Bakugou remained frozen in disbelief.
MEANWHILE-U.A. DORMS-JIRO'S ROOM
As things went on below, within the musical teen's room, the two teens were seated and huddled together on Jiro's bed with a blanket over their shoulders. Sharing earphones as they listened to Deep Dopes newest songs as Midoriya added the extra notes to his Hero Journal. The latter pleasantly surprised to discover that he liked this type of music and planned on adding it to his personal exercise playlist.
His note taking ceased when Jiro stopped humming the song's tune as she giggled, drawing his attention. ''What's going on with you?'' He asked in curious amusement as he tucked his pen between the journal before closing it to give her his full attention.
Jiro paused the music and removed her earphone, prompting him to do the same. ''Nothing bad.'' She shook her head. ''I just remembered thinking how the night was going to suck when Truth or Dare was the game we were going to play.'' She admitted before turning to him with a smile. ''But it turned out better than expected.''
Midoriya returned the smile. ''No, not better.'' She looked at him in confusion, before blushing in shock as he reached up and held her cheek. ''Perfect.'' He corrected affectionately.
''Ugh, you're such a sap.'' Jiro groaned but he could tell that it didn't bother her as she wrapped her arms around his neck, bringing their forehead together while he responded in kind by wrapping his arms around her lower back. ''Just don't overdo it, I don't think I can handle the embarrassment.'' She warned while gently poking his cheeks with her jacks.
He chuckled and nodded their heads together. ''I'll keep that in mind.'' He casually agreed, but Jiro had a feeling that he wasn't going to stop being sappy with her which admittedly didn't sound like a bad thing.
The couple then smiled at each other, before sealing their new relationship with a kiss, the journal and music completely forgotten for the night.
