Project Lupa Assassins vs the Pack chronicles CHAPTER 2

This apartment was more like an apartment building it had 15 bedrooms 4 labs, 2 lounges, one kitchen a main lounge then three game lounges. She said that one of the bedrooms was converted into her office. That each bedroom had their own onsuite. Maria stopped outside one of the rooms indicating for Skye to take a look. Skye pokes her head through the door and was stunned.

"There is only the basics for now but you can add to it." Maria told her.

"This is mine?" Skye asked not believing it. There was a queen size bed off the middle wall with a nightstand beside it, a dresser on the wall in front of her, a desk and chair in the corner, a door which she assumed led to the bathroom and a wardrobe. The walls were white with a soft blue carpet and darker blue duvet set. It was simple but meant a lot.

"All yours." Maria replied understanding the look on Skye's face. Skye moved into the room running her fingers over the dresser, her gaze moving to the desk in the corner she was surprised to see a computer there. She moved over to it but stopped herself as she saw what was on the nightstand by her bed. There was a tablet and a new phone. She picked both up to examine them. Sitting on the bed her thoughts drifted to how soft it was.

"I-I can't take this." Skye stated once she found her voice.

"Skye, you work for SHIELD these are standard tech that you will need. Don't think of them as a handout think of them as a guarantee."

"For what?" Skye asked

"That you won't hack us again." Maria replied making Skye give a small smile. "Besides you will need a secure way to contact pack members. Their numbers are programmed into the phone." She added "do you want time to get settled or do you want to do this now?" Maria asked

"Already?"

"The sooner we get started the sooner you can return to Coulson." Maria pointed out.

"They only gave me the first injection recently though."

"Skye, that wasn't the serum that was a pre serum to get your body ready for the actual serum."

"Oh, ok."

"Don't worry I will be with you every step of the way." Maria replied and it kind of did reassure her.

"Okay, in that case might as well get started." Skye stated trying to hide her nerves but had a feeling she was not doing a very good job of it. Maria pulled a case out of the bag she was carrying and Skye could only imagine the size of the needle in that.

"It is best you don't look." Maria stated Skye couldn't agree more but it did nothing to help her nerves. She was tense as anything. Maria moved the hair from her neck and if it was possible she went more tense, waiting for the prick when it did not come she went to turn around and ask what was going on when she felt it. She hissed...and would have jumped up had Maria not placed her hand on her shoulder keeping her in place.

"Ow." Skye complained after Maria took the needle out instantly rubbing the area that she had injected her in.

"You should start to feel it in an hour or so, before that lets get you something to eat." Maria took her down to the kitchen where she made her some dinner. Maria was not kidding when she said she would feel it later, after an hour Skye felt sick, running to the bathroom she threw up. Maria was with her rubbing her back as her body spasmed and it felt like her entire being was on fire. Maria ended up taking her back to her room where she stayed with her, Skye wanting the body heat because she was currently freezing. She fell asleep to Maria talking to her.

Maria had said that it would take a week of feeling like shit before she would start feeling better and she was right. That week was a blur of pain and numbness she found herself sleeping most of the time when she was not sleeping she was clinging to Maria. She developed this need to be near her a desire to please her. Maria explained that this was the Alpha bond forming her wolf that was developing was aware of who the Alpha was. The nightmares were not pleasant either her deepest darkest memories brought to life for her to relive once again. During the time she was lucid enough Maria would explain exactly what was going on and everything she would need to know about the pack. She was currently lying in bed after finally feeling better, well better enough to get up and move around even a little bit of her attitude seemed to return.

"Alright up you get." Maria stated pulling back her blankets.

"No, Ria I want to sleep." Skye mumbled trying to pull back her cover.

"No, I have a week to install as much training as I can get before you go back to the bus."

"Training? I thought I was only meant to be a consultant?" Skye stated sitting up and looking at Maria when she got a specific look from her she continued. "I mean yeah I would like to be an agent...I didn't think I was good enough... I mean training yeah." She finished getting up and into some work out clothes she met Maria in the gym. That week was something else entirely. It ended with Maria marking her as part of the pack and her bruises from training sessions healed because of her new wolf gene.

She was currently lying on the couch her head resting on Maria's lap as she thought over the first few weeks within S.H.I.E.L.D. Bobbie entered the room picked up Skye's legs and laid them across her own. They were at the pack house everyone was here. Ward was on a mission much to Skye's relief he was meant to be her SO but so far she has learnt more from her pack mates than him. She didn't understand why May couldn't be her SO things would be so much more easier.

"This is nice." Skye mumbled

"What's that?" Maria asked looking up from her tablet.

"This, being here with everyone." Skye stated she felt Maria shift on her seat whatever had grabbed her attention on the tablet made her move.

"Coulson!" Maria called he was in the kitchen cooking with Clint and Simmons.

"Yeah?" He asked

"You might want to stop what you're doing." Maria stated making him enter the lounge

"Why?"

"You have a mission." She stated he nodded before contacting Fitz and May to come to the lounge.

"Ward's not back yet." Skye stated

"I can go." Bobbie stated looking at Maria

"You have that mission with Izzy." Maria reminded her.

"Then I can. It would be better than going back to the tower." Clint stated

"You're meant to be returning to Laura." Maria retorted.

"Well they need a specialist." Clint stated he knew that Laura would understand.

"They will have one. Me." Natasha stated entering the room.

"Okay then we leave in Five grab your gear." Coulson stated reading the briefing. Skye looked at Bobbie who ended up pulling her into a hug. She gave her a kiss before taking her back to the room.

"Take care of yourself. I don't like the feel of this mission." Maria stated looking at Coulson he nodded leaving her and Natasha alone. Nat stepped in closer pulling her in for a kiss she pressed her forehead against hers. They were mates and Natasha used to this to reassure her that they will return.

They were on the plane heading to a scene where a priority red transport had been ambushed and Dr Hall who they had been transporting was taken. Skye looked around the briefing room as Coulson divided the teams up. Skye would be staying on the bus researching who could have leaked the information. Coulson was going with Nat to find the person who owned the digger that was used to break the truck. Simmons and Fitz were in the lab trying to understand how the cars ended up like they did. Coulson and Nat left Skye got comfy looking at the computer. That all changed when Coulson told her to search up Ian Quinn. Skye had done research on him before joining SHIELD and thought he was a nice guy. They were once again in the command room after Skye briefed them on everything she had found. The only problem was Quinn was in Malta and SHIELD had no jurisdiction there. They were currently coming up with ways that they could get in and it somewhat ended in an argument.

"I could go in." Skye stated after fiddling with her phone.

"Now is the not the time Skye."

"Any SHIELD agent caught can be shot to death by bullets legally." Simmons stated

"Not me, I can go in."

"Skye." Coulson stated with a sigh

"Wait, what are you saying?" Nat asked stopping Coulson from going all protective father on her.

"Well technically I am not an agent of SHIELD so I can go in without breaking all these stupid rules."

"International laws." Simmons corrected.

"You said you could go in with a man inside?"

"You want to be that woman?" May asked

"FitzSimmons loves the guy and he could be getting tortured for all we know or worse being forced to do strength training."

"How do you plan on getting inside?"

"I have an invite...technically it's an evite." Skye stated holding up her phone with a smug smile. The room was in silence as they all stared at Skye. "What?"

"You...okay then. Skye will be our inside man. She goes in through the front door. Gets control of their system so that Fitz can shut down their laser field so that Natasha and I can get in." Coulson stated

"Sounds like a plan." Natasha stated she then took Skye down to the cargo bay to install as much undercover knowledge as she could. Before they knew it Skye was leaving them heading to the airport to get a plane to Malta. Skye shifted in her seat fixing her dress for probably the third time since getting in the taxi to get to Quinn's villa. She had to admire the view out the window Malta was beautiful. She could feel Maria across the link knowing that she was keeping an eye on things as she made her way outside she saw all these rich people.

Skye made the rounds even managed to talk with Ian Quinn himself when he offered her a job she was surprised. Walking through the halls she couldn't help but think she would not have to act lost if someone found her. Finally she found his office but it was locked. She was looking over the reception desk when Quinn confronted her she tried not to panic.

"Wait." She stated when he seemed to get angry with her he was about to call security. How was she going to get out of this? She pictured Alex standing behind him.

'Lie!' Alex told her pointing to her ear Skye came up with a rather risky plan. She rambled on for a while about truth and freedom while she wrote on a piece of paper. (S.H.I.E.L.D. is listening.) this seemed to grab his attention and he invited her into his office. She put the ear piece into water and sighed slightly freaking out that Maria would be mad at her.

'I am not mad, this is genius.' Maria informed her over the bond. Skye continued to talk sitting on the couch. After looking around the room she returned her attention to Ian. When Quinn asked her why SHIELD would send just her in she replied with what Simmons told her. About international laws. The compact lit up green and she almost sighed in relief but didn't instead she continued to almost flirt with the man. Quinn also seemed to be flirting back with her, that was until two rather large men entered the room telling him they had intruders. Then he got mad...Skye was up on her feet and moving away from him but he shoved her into the wall demanding to know what SHIELD was doing. He stepped back when she only gave him attitude in response. He went to the man and pulled a gun on her, Skye was trying really hard not to panic.

'You've got this Skye, just like I showed you.' Natasha stated

'Where are you guys?' She asked looking at the gun.

'On our way.' Natasha replied through the link Skye looked up from the gun up to Quinn. What would Nat do? She asked herself but was surprised to see Alex again standing next to Quinn. She started doubting her sanity. Alex pointed to the gun but was looking at his face she then looked out the window. Skye tilted her head she knew what Alex wanted. So much for her secret. Skye thought to herself she stepped forward doing the move Natasha taught her getting the gun out of Quinn's hand he stepped towards her to get it back and she punched him in the face, she heard the break as he stumbled back taking this chance now to aim the gun at his security stopping them from moving.

"Kids got balls." One guard said

"But has she got what it takes to pull the trigger." Quinn asked his hand on his nose as he stood behind his security. Skye tilted her head weighing her options.

'Run.' Alex told her so Skye threw the gun away ran to the window and jumped out. She landed in the pool, swimming to the edge she pulled herself out. Only to have to fight a guy that tried to grab her he ended in the pool. Turning she went to defend herself from a different man but he ended on the ground as Natasha was there. They shared a look, one meaning they will talk after this. More guys came Natasha didn't wait she attacked knocking them out. Before they made it to Coulson only for him to have to kill the man they came to rescue. They made it back to the plane where Skye left to go and get dressed. How was she going to explain this to them? Once they found out the truth they will want nothing to do with her. After having a shower she got dressed then made her way out to the others they were waiting in the command room seeming they were now in the air heading back to DC. Skye stood awkwardly in the doorway not wanting to meet anyone's gaze.
