Project Lupa Assassins vs the Pack chronicles CHAPTER 3

Natasha ended up guiding her further into the room, she could tell Coulson wanted to move over to her but May was stopping him. Fitz and Simmons looked down not sure what was happening.

"Skye? Who is Alex?" Natasha asked making Skye look up at her in a pained expression.

"She was my Ortark or that is what they called us." Skye stated her hands moving to fiddle with the sleeve of the hoodie or in this case Bobbie's hoodie.

"Who is they?" Natasha asked and saw that Skye seemed agitated it looked like she was not going to answer but then she sighed.

"I was raised in an orphanage...a trouble maker of sorts the nuns said I was devils spawn. When they came and took me away I guess they were happy I was no longer their problem. They said they helped troubled kids. It was a lie...they broke us down then rebuilt us the way they wanted. The perfect little soldiers. I was smart and careful I actually made it past their basic training that was when they introduced me to Alex. They did some things...I don't exactly know what but afterwards we were connected, we were stronger together. Alex was strong on her own she felt like she needed to protect me. They continued to train us together...once they were satisfied with our progress they gave us jobs. Steal this... infiltrate that. As we got older the more advanced the jobs got." Skye seemed to hesitate not looking at the others in the room.

"How many?" Natasha asked recognising the look in her eyes.

"Enough."

"Enough what?" Fitz asked when he got elbowed by Simmons he stopped "oh."

"They called us quelli caduti...the fallen ones as in fallen angels. I did not want to do it, they did something to us...let's just say refusing them was not an option. When I was 17 they sent us on a job, I couldn't do it. He was a single father two kids no other family. I was not going to be the reason they were orphaned. Alex saw my conflict...refusing a job was not an option. She faked his death, sent him and his kids somewhere safe then got us out. We made it back to America they came after us...nobody leaves they said. We were strong, one of their best teams. Alex kept us safe. Kept us moving...we were in Ohio when we agreed to seperate. Alex said she had somethings to take care of and I had my own goals. I should have asked her...stopped her maybe if I was there. She saved a kid from a fire and went back in to save his sister neither of them made it out. Turns out she was trying to repent." Skye stated looking at Natasha an understanding passed between them. The room was in silence, Skye did not mean to share that much but figured it was the bond making her say it after all it had been pushing her to tell them the truth for a while now.

"Let's go." Natasha stated

"Where?" Skye asked they were still in the air was Natasha going to kill her?

"We are going to the cargo bay, I want to see what you can do." Natasha stated

"That's it?" Skye asked

"Skye, we all have a past. You got out." Natasha commented Skye knew that she had spoken to Coulson and May through the link she was not sure what she had said but they let her go down to the cargo bay. She saw that Simmons and Fitz were looking at her weirdly...it was a look she was used to it was one she remembered from the orphanage. Skye followed Natasha down to the cargo bay where she pulled out the mats, in all honesty she didn't want to do this she wanted to go to bed. A different part of her though did want to do this, a part she had not thought about for six years since she left. Skye thought she was rusty after all it had been a while since she did this. But it was like riding a bike it was something she could not forget. However this was Natasha Romanoff the Black Widow. Skye did not stand a chance. She landed on the mat with a groan.

"Ow." Skye stated lying there Natasha was looking down at her with a tilted head.

"Considering you are the beta I don't really have the motivation to fight you." Skye stated this was true her wolf was not happy on fighting her.

"We are sparring Skye, it is fine." Natasha replied

"Considering my place is questionable at the moment my wolf does not want to fight you." Skye stated part of her was waiting for the plane to land so that she will be kicked out of the pack.

"If they kick you out for your past they would have to kick me out too. I can guarantee that I have done worse. I am accepted. You are too, we will not abandon you Skye."

"I lied to you, kept this from you?"

"Skye do you plan on betraying us?" Natasha asked this had Skye sitting up and looking at her with wide eyes.

"Of course not." Skye stated

"Then you have done nothing wrong. We all knew you were keeping things from us, we all agreed that you would tell us when you were ready." Natasha stated that was when Skye gave her a relieved smile. Before she could stop herself she swiped Natasha's legs wrapping them around her and forcing her to the ground as she went down Skye got up, and had her in a hold. One that Alex taught her. Natasha smirked before getting out of the hold but with some difficulty both were now on there feet waiting for the other to strike.

Just because Skye remembered the movements and could still pull them off did not mean that her body was prepared for them. It had been half an hour since her spar with Natasha and she was on the couch all her muscles hurt. Natasha walked past dropping an ice pack on her making her moan that turned into a groan as she placed the ice pack on the sore area.

"I think you cracked a rib." Skye stated as she placed the ice pack on her ribs.

"You split my lip." Natasha retorted even though it had already healed.

"I now remember why I don't like fighting." Skye stated closing her eyes.

"We will be arriving in DC soon." Natasha stated

"Does that mean Ward is coming back on the plan? I mean I know you were using me to see what he was up too but seriously if I have to go through one more of his terrible training sessions I swear I might just kill him." Skye stated

"We weren't using you." Natasha stated this made Skye give her a pointed look.

"So what? Seeing if he is pack material or is there something else? If I was to bet I would say something else. You do not want someone like him in the pack and he is definitely keeping something a secret. Whatever he is up too is not good." Skye stated throwing her arm over her eyes. She felt a tap making her lower her arm Natasha was now very close to her.

"How do you know?" Natasha asked

"I am very good at reading people, it was sort of my thing and he is one shady dude." Skye stated she winced as Natasha pulled her to her feet and all but dragged her up to Coulson's office.

"Borrowing your computer." Natasha stated once they were inside Coulson looked confused but let her have it.

"Phil?" A males voice asked coming into focus on the screen. Skye had not met him before but she knew all about him. He was Director of SHIELD after all.

"Fury?" Phil sounded just as confused both turned to look at Natasha

"Where is Ward?" Natasha asked

"On a mission with Garrett." Fury replied "what is going on Agent Romanoff."

"Kringle." Natasha stated making both men tense.

"Are you sure?" Director Fury asked

"Is there any chance he found anything about this project?" Natasha asked

"No, we never mention it on the plane. May sweeps every morning for bugs." Coulson stated Skye was so confused but chose to remain silent she did not want to draw attention to herself.

"Skye you did a search of him yes?" Natasha asked bringing attention to her.

"Yeah, I did it on all of you..." Skye stated a little guiltily.

"What did you find?"

"Everything you probably have on him. Any psychologist would tell you he would be unstable."

"He passed all his psych evals." Coulson stated

"Any man with half a brain can pass them." Skye pointed out. "Not only did Ward have a messed up childhood but he would have felt betrayed by his family. He would also feel indebted to Agent Garret. He was the one to get him out of juvie, to bring him into SHIELD. He was his SO who trained him. I don't know him and would need to meet him but what ever Garrett did to Ward made him who he is. His family broke him down and Garrett raised him up. Whatever Ward is in I bet my salery that Garrett is also in on it." Skye shrugged feeling a little awkward as everyone was staring at her.

"Garrett and I were rookies together under Nick." Coulson stated

"Anikan was raised under Obi1." Skye remarked cursing Bobbie for making her like Star Wars.

"Did you just make a Star Wars reference?" Natasha asked

"I did, and I can't take it back." Skye replied

"You are definitely Bobbie's mate." Natasha mumbled.

"We will discuss this more when you get back here in person. I want you in my office once you land." Fury demanded before hanging up before Coulson could say yes.

"Was he just wanting you or all of us?" Skye asked she had to admit she found him intimidating.
