Boba found himself feeling really odd when he and Gabby were getting ready for their parents to come pick them up from the Naberrie home a week after the wedding.

Boba's new phone buzzed as he was receiving a text message. But it wasn't from his parents. And when he looked at it, he practically threw the phone up in the air when he saw it was from Roya.

As she was helping with wardrobe for the wedding, Roya gave her number to every member of the wedding party so they could contact her in the event of a fashion emergency.

Boba felt so nervous as he opened the message.

Had a gr8 dance with you. Would love to get to know you better. Call me 3 ;)

Suddenly, Boba felt that odd sensation in his chest with the beating and the flushing in his face.

"How I wish we didn't have to part so soon." Ruwee said, tossing Gabby up and down as she laughed. "We hardly ever get to see you as is."

"I know, Grandpa. I miss you too." Gabby said. "I loved visiting you and Grandma while Mommy and Daddy went on their honeymoon."

Boba was finished packing his bag and eventually came with Gabby to await their parents' arrival.

The kids were so eager to run up to their parents and welcome them back from their honeymoon the moment they saw them.

"Mommy! Daddy!" Gabby pretty much tackled Anakin, sending him on his back as she showered him with kisses.

"I missed you too." Anakin laughed, getting up and hugging his little girl.

"Did you have a good time with your grandparents?" Padme asked.

"Yeah. Grandma and Grandpa were great." Boba said, that heart beating and unusual feeling still in him.

"Are you okay?" Padme sounded concerned.

"I think so."

After a while, Boba looked at his phone again and wondered how he should respond. Having a big lack of female friends or experience with girls who made him feel indescribably strange did not help with it either. He couldn't say he knew a lot about girls either.

So, without much else he could think of, he responded: I'd like to get to know you too.

:) That was Roya's response, and Boba nearly dropped his phone in the process.

Weeks went by. Boba continued to text with Roya and occasionally talk with her on the phone. But each time, he found himself sweating, stammering, or just plain freezing up.

"Ugh! What is wrong with me?!" Boba asked himself one day.

Every time he even thought about Roya, he got the same feeling of his heart beating really fast, and his cheeks turned red every time someone asked him if he was okay and snapped him out of it.

Boba was not the only one noticing changes in his behavior lately either.

Boba's friends, his sister, and many of the grownups began to notice Boba was acting very oddly. For one thing, he wasn't gagging when Gabby put on a romantic princess movie. In fact, he seemed more interested in watching romantic stuff lately, as well as listening to love songs, and one day, Gabby caught her brother looking at a site about how to talk to girls.

And then one day, Gabby came to a hypothesis.

"I think Boba's in love!" she squealed.

"But with who?" Carousella asked.

"I might have an idea."

That same day, Boba was playing with some of the Jedi younglings as they were not in class right now. He was playing Tug of War with some of the kids. It was him and Petro vs. Gungi and Remix.

"You might as well surrender!" Remix said, pulling the rope with his teeth. "You can't beat a horse's strength."

"Give it some gas, Petro!" Boba said.

"What do you think I've been doing?" Petro grunted.

"Hi, Big Brother." Gabby said, walking in.

"Hi, Gabs." Boba grunted. "Kinda... busy here!"

"You really think you guys can beat a horse at Tug of War?"

"I'm going easy on them." Remix said.

"Liar!" Petro said, pulling harder.

Gabby shook her head. She honestly never understood boys and their need to prove themselves big, strong, and top competitors.

"Boba, we've been noticing you acting strange ever since the wedding." Gabby said.

"Strange how?" Boba said, still pulling.

"Well, you've been listening to a lot of love songs lately. Just yesterday, you were humming can't you feel the love tonight" she sang that part. "When we were cleaning our rooms."

"So... maybe it stuck in my head. Remix..." Boba pulled again. "plays music all the time."

"Don't try to distract me." Remix said.

"You've also been sweating and forgetting how to talk every time a certain someone comes over or sends you a text."

Boba suddenly turned a bit pink, but denied anything.

"You don't know what you're talking about." He said.

"Oh, really?" Gabby crossed her arms and had an idea. "Oh, hi, Roya."

Boba suddenly lost focus on the game and let go of the rope, making Petro get pulled forward into the pile of pillows. And Boba started worrying about how he looked, which he typically never did before, as he started to fix his hair.

"So you do have a crush on Roya." Gabby smiled.

"What?" Boba said, his face turning red. "I do not."

Gabby checked her brother's hands. His palms were sweaty. His heart was also beating fast like it had before.

"Boba, it's nothing to be embarrassed about." Gabby said. "I may be a lot younger than you, but I've known Roya longer. She's terrific. And I think she likes you too."

Remix chuckled and gently bumped Boba and said, "Congratulations, Boba. You're not even eleven yet and already you got yourself a pretty girl. And a princess, no less."

"Get ready for a lot of drama." said Petro. "Once you got a girl, I hear it's a real circus."

"What's that supposed to mean?" Gabby said, sounding offended.

"Nothing!" Petro said, a bit nervously.

"Is it because you find girls scary? Or you think we're overly dramatic or sensitive?" Gabby said. "Girls are a lot simpler than you'd think. The only problem is too many guys need everything spelled out for them. No offense. Big Brother. You need advice on girls, give me a call."

And Gabby exited the room.

"She does have a bit of a point." Remix said. "I don't have a lot of girls in my family, but I do know they get offended when you call them dramatic. And most women don't like when guys don't treat them like a lady."

"Well... even if I did like Roya, which I'm not saying I do. I mean, not romantically, anyway. How would I even know where to begin?" Boba said.

"You could try asking someone with more experience in the romance department."

Boba suddenly thought of someone he could ask.

"So, hypothetically, if I liked a girl..." said Boba. "I just need to know what I need to do. Are there rules I have to follow? Or does it vary?"

Anakin listened to Boba's question and got a similar sense to Gabby's that his son definitely liked a girl, but like a lot of people experiencing their first crush, wasn't sure what to do.

"Well, I wasn't much younger than you are now when I first met your mother." Anakin said. "I didn't need a high IQ to know she was the one for me."

"Well, how did you get her to notice you? Er... find you interesting?"

"For one thing, I was already naturally cute, if I do say so myself. Girls tend to like cute guys, especially when he has a nice smile. So, that's a good way to make yourself approachable. The first thing I ever said to Padme... I asked her if she was an angel. She found it funny in a good way. I was actually trying to compliment her beauty. Girls like compliments."

"Okay. Compliments... make her laugh." Boba took notes on that.

"Who is this girl you're trying to impress, anyway?" Anakin asked.

Boba blushed and said, "No one."

"Boba." Anakin said. "I know, guys don't tend to talk about feelings. But you gotta cut me some slack. I've been stuck with a lot of them longer than you have."

Boba was silent for a moment.

"You don't need to give me a name." said Anakin. "Just tell me, what is it about this girl that catches your eye?"

Boba started to think about Roya and what made her attractive to him.

For one thing, Roya was very beautiful. She always dressed in the prettiest outfits, especially ones that sparkled and shimmered, and her smile was indescribably amazing. She was smart, kind, and a great dancer and fashion designer too. And something about her touch was just magical when she and Boba practiced dance for the first time. Boba had felt so sure he would trip or fail miserably when they danced, but somehow, when he danced with her, it unlocked an amount of dance skills he didn't even realize he had in him. And she was also the first girl his age to flash a smile at first glance.

But, Boba felt pretty sure she wouldn't go for someone like him. She was a princess and half genie, and he was a clone of a dead bounty hunter.

"How would I even talk to her?" Boba asked. "Every time I get close to her, I forget everything."

"Well, I couldn't help but notice when you gave Roya that flower at the wedding." Anakin said. "Girls really like flowers."

Boba turned red again when Anakin mentioned that moment.

"You know," said Anakin. "Roya is a pretty great girl. Maybe you can ask her out sometime."

"I'm ten. I don't know anything about all those fancy restaurants or other places in those rom-coms." Boba said.

"Those are just movies. And not all dates are the same. The first time Padme and I were on a date, we were on a picnic in one of Naboo's meadows."

Anakin told Boba about how he and Padme had a good time together being in the fresh air and Anakin even tried to impress Padme by riding one of the Shaak creatures that roamed along the meadow.

"I don't recommend you try that, though." Anakin warned. "I was lucky not to be seriously injured at the time."

"Okay. But, how do I ask her?"

"Just be yourself. Work that charm of yours." Anakin ruffled his son's hair. "You're already a pretty cute kid, according to a lot of the grownups."

Boba began fixing his hair and thought of all kinds of ways to ask Roya out.

"What do girls even like?" Boba asked. "Where do I begin?"

Meanwhile, Roya began to wonder some things about Boba.

Today, she was helping her friend Dracona with a dress for a big party.

"You're sure he's the kind of guy you wanna go out with?" Dracona said.

"Well, he's cute." Roya said. "And he's got a lot of great qualities for someone who doesn't say too much. Every time we're on the phone, he stammers. Or he just sticks to texting."

"When's the last time you talked to him?" said Roya's sister Yasmina.

"About three days ago." Roya said.

"Sis... there's a little something you should know about boys." Yasmina said. "They need everything spelled out for them. You gotta do something with your clothes. Maybe add a bit of lipstick. Make yourself look real hot."

"Yasmina, if Boba likes me, it's gonna be as I am." said Roya. "Besides, he seems kinda shy."

Roya got out her phone and started to dial.

"What are you doing?" asked Yasmina.

"I'm gonna call Boba and ask him on a date."

"You can't do that! That's the first rule of dating. The guy's gotta ask you out."

"I'm perfectly capable of taking care of myself, sis." Roya said. "Women don't need men to take care of them anymore."

Boba decided that if he was going to find out what girls liked, he had to ask a girl for advice. So, he went to every girl he knew.

Ahsoka told Boba that girls liked being allowed to do things for themselves, but also appreciated a guy who showed chivalry by allowing her to enter first.

Carousella told Boba that most girls liked it when they were allowed to speak and express themselves.

Gabby told Boba that girls liked compliments and when a guy behaved like a gentleman. But, she also had a question for him.

"Do you know what the girl you like likes?" Gabby asked.

"What do you mean?" Boba asked.

"Do you know what Roya specifically likes? Not all girls are the same. Like Carousella. She's a girl, and she has a typically male-dominated career as a guard. Ahsoka's also saved Daddy's life so many times. And how many female senators do you know besides Mommy?"

"Well..." Boba started to think. "I know Roya likes dancing. And she likes fashion too. And lotus flowers."

Boba started to think harder.

"Oh! She's always talking about the beauty of her kingdom. I guess I could learn more about that."

"Good idea." Gabby said.

So, Boba consulted the holo-net to learn more about the culture of the kingdom of Maamoh-Yah. There was a lot to learn. Traditional food, clothing, dances, manners. So much.

"This is gonna take a while." Boba said.

"Maybe you could try showing something you like doing." Gabby said. "Mommy and Daddy say a key to a healthy relationship is compromise, and one way to do that is to take turns doing things the other person likes."

Boba started to think... and then he had an idea.

Roya was in her room one day, drawing some new designs for clothes, when her phone suddenly rang.

"Hello?"

"Hi, Roya." Boba said on the other line.

"Hey, Boba. It's good to hear from you."

"Nice to hear you too." Boba got so nervous. But he took a breath and continued to speak. "Listen, I was wondering...I was wondering if maybe you'd like to..."

Roya waited for Boba to finish his sentence, but he sounded nervous.

"Well, I was wondering if you'd like to come to a picnic in the park with me this Saturday? If you're not busy."

Boba suddenly froze. She's gonna laugh at me, I just know it! He winced.

"I'd love to." Roya said.

"Really?" Boba said, surprised. "That's great. I'll text you the details."

Boba felt so victorious! He'd just asked the girl of his dreams out on a date. But now, he had another thing to worry about. The date itself.
