Project Lupa Assassins vs the Pack chronicles CHAPTER 5

Skye had shared everything with Maria and Natasha she now sat in the lounge looking up at them as they seemed to be having a private conversation. Skye closed her eyes as a headache began to form. She got up from the couch heading into the kitchen and grabbed a glass of water. She lifted the glass to her lips but ended up dropping it both Maria and Natasha looked at her and ended up running to her. Skye was not sure why...that was until the bench now seemed to be above her and she was on the ground. She blinked seeing Maria above her she was saying something as her lips were moving but Skye wasn't registering what she said. She closed her eyes welcoming the darkness.

When Skye woke up she found herself in her bed. She turned her head to the side and saw Jemma there she looked worried. Why hadn't she said anything?

"When do you think she will wake up?" May asked confusing Skye, she was awake.

"I don't know, she is physically fine." Jemma replied.

"It's been eight days." May stated

"May, I have run every test I know and she is physically fine." Jemma stated Skye could hear her desperation in her tone.

"Can Maria contact her over the link?"

"No, she is worried."

"We all are." Jemma rectified, Skye was so confused what was going on.

Maria was outside Skye's room with Coulson and Natasha speaking with Nick and the other alphas.

"The doctors have come up empty." Coulson stated everyone knew his feelings towards Skye and could clearly see his worry. She was like a daughter to him and it broke him to see her like that.

"Did they find out what they did to her?" Victoria asked they had all been briefed on Skye's past.

"No, just that her DNA had been tampered with. But no specifics." Maria replied

"What of her friend?" Blake asked

"She disappeared." Natasha replied

"Keep me posted." Nick stated making the meeting come to an end. It was a rather pointless meeting to begin with no new information. Maria sighed slumping into the couch. Natasha was next to her offering her support and Coulson went in to sit with Skye.

"Her friend could hold answers." Maria replied

"That is why you have Bobbie and Clint looking for her." Natasha replied. Bobbie had stayed with Skye after she initially collapsed but found she needed to do something so went out in search for Alex.

'Maria!' Sharon called to her over the link, she almost forgot that Sharon was on a mission.

'What's wrong?' Maria asked back

'I am compromised.' Sharon stated making Maria jump to her feet pulling out her phone organising an extraction for her as she watched through the link that Sharon was being followed by four security men and more were coming. Sharon made it to the lobby where she stopped she was surrounded.

"Hand it over." One of the men stated but Sharon got ready to fight back.

"Now now, is that any way to talk to a lady?" A new voice asked making Sharon and Maria tense at the newcomer. Alex...

"Who are you?"

"I have a message for Marcel." Alex replied and the men went alert.

"Oh yeah what message is that pretty lady." One man stated

"My message is..." she spoke stepping in closer making him lean in as if she was going to give him a secret. Instead she knocked him out stealing his gun she fired 8 shots. 8 men dropped to the ground she left one remaining he stepped back.

"You're her! From Rio."

"You will do. My message tell him I'm burning it down!" Alex stated just as the building shook as an explosion took hold. She punched the man in the face and broke his leg as he tried to contain her. Alex looked over at Sharon and she had to admit she did not like the look in her eyes.

"I suggest whatever company you are from, you should drop your investigation. Get out of here." Alex stated making Sharon freeze and openly stare at her. Alex seemed annoyed at her reaction as she huffed then turned to leave.

"Wait, Skye needs help." Sharon stated making her stop and turn to look at her. Alex then grabbed hold of Sharon's arm and pulled her out of the building she made no comment on the fact the sparks were igniting where they touched. She was pulled down the street and around the corner towards a car. Before they made it to the car however Alex stopped and Sharon tensed seeming that Alex now had a knife under her throat.

"Explain, who are you and how do you know Skye? Do not lie!" Alex stated

"I am Skye's friend we met through work." Sharon replied she really was not trying to focus on the tingling in her shoulder where Alex's hand was resting.

"Who are you?" She asked angrily

"My name is Sharon."

"What organisation do you work for?" Alex asked but at this Sharon hesitated.

"I can't say. I..." Sharon was interrupted as Alex shoved her to the side and began to fight a woman.

"Come in quietly." The woman stated

"I think I will pass on that." Alex retorted as she managed to disarm the lady and have her in a choke hold. Sharon could not help compare her to Natasha in that moment. Sharon was surprised that Alex threw a knife at her but it hit the person behind her hitting them in the forehead. Alex kicked the now limp woman onto the ground. "Time to go." Alex said once again taking Sharons arm. "Skye? What is wrong with her?" She asked after they ran down the street Sharon was confused when they did not get in the car.

"She has been in a coma for 8 days." Sharon replied

"Why?"

"That was what we were hoping you could tell us." Sharon replied just as Alex stopped and spun around looking up. "What is it?" Sharon asked

"Where is your extraction point?" Alex asked and Sharon contemplated if she should answer or not. "If I wanted to hurt you I would have done it by now." Alex stated not reassuring her at all.

"Down the street on the corner." Sharon stated and Alex smiled as she started running again. Sharon was alert she could see that Alex was tense did that mean she was expecting others? They almost made it to the extraction point when they were stopped by four people, three woman one male they were not looking at Sharon they were only focused on Alex.

"You have been causing quite the stir." The male stated at this Alex smirked.

"You getting worried?" Alex asked at this Sharon noted a slight accent.

"We are here to stop you."

"If you were going to kill me you would have tried by now. He wants me alive?" She asked

"You have things to answer for." The man stated at this Sharon saw her anger.

"The only thing I owe you is a bullet." Alex remarked

"To use your words if you were going to kill us you would have tried by now. You are protecting her." One of the girls stated looking at Sharon. At this though Alex laughed.

"The only reason I have not killed you is you are not worth my time. You know I might be offended that Marcel sends you."

"You are a traitor."

"Independent thinker is a better word." Alex retorted. Sharon was not exactly sure what was going on and what the banter was all about.

"Stop it!" One of the girls shouted at Alex who only smirked they all seemed annoyed.

"You know who I am and did not expect this." Alex retorted. "You failed." Alex stated and to Sharon's horror all four of them fell to the ground she hoped they were unconscious. "Let's go." Alex said

"What did you do?" Sharon asked

"Saved your life." Alex replied "again." Once again taking Sharon's arm and taking her the two blocks to the extraction point. Sharon was shoved to the side landing on the ground not sure what had happened until a very familiar noise echoed around the street. She looked over at Alex who made a growling noise as she rolled over that was when Sharon felt her heart shatter. She saw red...

"Nonono." Sharon stated moving over to her and applying pressure.

"Get...out...ofhere." Alex told her as she tried to push herself up.

"I am not leaving you." Sharon stated Alex looked down to where she was shot.

"Abdomen...shit." Alex mumbled "third window...terrace." Alex added it took Sharon a minute to realise she was telling her where the shooter was. They were currently protected by the car parked in the street. "Skye legame confermato!" Alex stated confusing Sharon and she grew concerned when she saw Alex began to glow. It was all too quick she wasn't sure it was real.

"Alex? Shit Alex you've been shot." Skye stated she was now in the street with them.

"Confirm friendship?" Alex asked her making Skye look from Alex to Sharon even though Sharon could not see her.

"Yes, she is a friend." Skye stated

"Okay. I will be seeing you soon."

"You're still shot." Skye replied

"An inconvenience at most." Alex mumbled placing her hand over the wound.

"What are you doing?" Sharon asked when she made her stop applying pressure. Alex's hand was just above the wound and she pulled a face of pain and a hurt noise. Then she gasped which was echoed by Sharon as she saw the bullet come out of the wound and Alex caught it in her hand.

"We need to move." Alex stated and Sharon agreed. She helped Alex up but it was obvious that Alex was in pain. They made it to the extraction point where she was greeted by Trip.

"What the...damn girl." Trip stated looking at her as Sharon helped Alex in the suv.

"Drive." Sharon told him and he did.
