Project Lupa Assassins vs the Pack chronicles CHAPTER 6

They got clear and made it to the pack wing where Maria was waiting for them Sharon had seemed to stabilise Alex but she was unconscious because of blood loss. Alex was taken by the doctors who took her into surgery to repair the damage. Sharon was still not sure how Alex had taken the bullet out, it being clear she was gifted.

"Maria what happens now?" Sharon asked looking up at her alpha. Maria was not sure it was obvious that everything was pointing to her joining the project. Seeming she was Sharon's soul mate. However it was clear the girl was enhanced. She was not sure how the serum would react. The decision was made for her when the doctors said that the bullet had done extensive damage and there was not anything they could do. Maria was the one to inject her, as she did she looked her over. The girl had dyed black hair but it was not natural, tan skin but it looked sickly pale at the moment she was lean and tall. Maria could tell she could hold herself in a fight. Her attention kept being brought to a small scar on her neck.

That night Maria looked down at Alex willing her to wake up so that she could possibly help Skye. Bobbie and Clint were back, currently sitting with Coulson and his team in Skye's room.

"You know glaring at her won't do anything." Natasha stated entering the room. She looked over the girl that was occupying the bed just like Skye she looked young for this line of work.

"She needs to wake up." Maria replied

"Glaring at her won't make it happen any sooner."

"I know, it is I am worried about Skye..." Maria was interrupted by Alex's eyes opening it sort of gave her a fright. Alex looked at them wearily before surprising Maria and Natasha by getting up.

"I don't think you should be moving." Maria told her Alex ended up grabbing her partly to steady herself and partly to get answers.

"Skye?" She asked "where is she?" She demanded

"Should you be moving."

"Better once I see Skye." Alex stated looking at the door. She took a step but her hand went to where she was shot making her curse. She managed to walk out to the room Maria was helping her. They made it into Skye's room the others were surprised but stepped back to let her look. Alex stumbled over to her and tilted her head as she looked her over.

"I get shot, you do not get to sleep." Alex stated and slapped her across the check ignoring the others. Pushing back Natasha that tried restraining her. "legame confermato" (bond confirmed)

"You did not have to slap me to confirm it." Skye mumbled before opening her eyes

"I did." Alex mumbled before falling onto the bed next to her.

"Hey you okay."

"I was shot. Protecting your friend. Still healing. Be faster now with you here." Alex replied "I feel weird." Alex added ignoring the fact that others were in the room. Bobbie has moved over to Skye and went to touch her but stopped seeing the look Alex was giving her.

"My soul mate." Skye stated making Alex slightly relax but she now seemed to be assessing Bobbie.

"The others that seem to be staring at us?" Alex asked not looking away from Bobbie.

"Friends. You can trust them."

"There is only one person I trust Skye."

"Then you can tolerate them." Skye retorted this made Alex turn and look at Skye.

"You have changed."

"I trust them." Skye shrugged at this Alex sat up ignoring the comment that she should lie down and searched her eyes.

"What happened?" Skye asked

"You confirmed the bond I did not." Alex replied

"You did, back in the street."

"I still needed to physically touch you."

"So you slapped me?"

"Because of you I am now in the custody of an intelligence agency, I worked so hard to stay off everyone's radar." Alex replied

"I'm sorry." Skye stated feeling guilty

"You trust these people that is enough for me." Alex replied lying back down. "I think I'm going to be sick." Alex stated sitting back up. This made Skye look at Maria, then back to Alex her eyes widened. Alex let out a scream as her head flung back. Skye now was freaking out not because she screamed or that she was now undergoing the process of joining the pack but because her eyes were glowing crystal blue.

"Her wolf should not be formed yet her eyes should not be doing that." Maria stated stepping forward.

"What did you do?" Alex asked through clenched teeth her hands were in fists.

"Give her the second shot, please." Skye stated she was sitting up.

"Skye I only gave her the first..."

"Maria she is enhanced. Her body adapt faster than any of us. Please you need to give her a chance she needs to complete it." Skye stated making Maria freeze and stared at her

"You want me to give her all the shots?"

"It is the only way she will survive." Skye replied Maria looked at Natasha who gave her a nod before walking out of the room she returned with a case.

"Skye are you sure?" Maria asked and Skye hesitated for a second before giving her a nod. Maria went to inject her but Alex tried fight back, that was until Skye held her down.

"calmati, ti aiuteranno" (calm down they will help.) Skye told her and Alex relaxed letting Maria inject her as she looked up at Skye not breaking eye contact. She did not react to the needle being inserted. The only reaction she had was her heart rate increased. Maria stepped back looking from Alex to Skye she could feel that Bobbie did not like it. Alex seemed to tense as her body seemed to spasm she closed her eyes and clenched her jaw it being obvious she was trying to stop herself from screaming. "Don't fight it Al, it would only get worse." Alex ended up losing consciousness and it worried the others but Skye knew that this was the way that she healed.

5 weeks 4 days and 6 hours that is how long Alex was in a coma for. Everyone was worried. The only reassuring thing was that if she rejected the serum she would have died by now. Or as reassuring as that could be. Skye had to go in detail over how Alex was enhanced. She explained how Alex could manipulate the air around her she also revealed that Alex had wings. Maria was concerned how that was going to affect her wolf, but they could do nothing about that. Sharon stayed with her the whole time. When Skye found out that they were soulmates she warned her that Alex might not accept her right away. They could tell that she was keeping something back but when they asked she said it was not her place to say.

"She didn't react to my words, ignored the sparks from our touch." Sharon stated looking at Alex on the bed but was speaking to Skye.

"She does not know what your words said." Skye replied after a sigh.

"What do you mean?" Natasha asked at this Skye looked at Bobbie who gave her a small nod. Before she lowered the corner of her pants to reveal her hip. It was scarred beyond recognition.

"I remember that there used to be words there but not what they said. Alex is the same. We were taught soulmates were a weakness. That the bond they made when they connected us together would be stronger...better."

"That is why you pushed Bobbie away at first."

"I would have rejected her if it was not for the wolf bond. My wolf did not want to lose her." Skye shrugged

"Does that mean that Alex will..." Sharon could not bring herself to ask but her face said it all.

"She never cared for relationships."

"Other than you. She cares for you." Sharon stated it was almost a growl Skye was watching her wearily.

"We were programmed to be together. Our bond...runs nearly as deep as a soul bond. We want to protect each other, make sure the other is safe and happy. Not to mention the benefit it is when on a mission. But a soul bond is different...it feels different a whole different type of love. If you give her time she will come around. Well that and her wolf will want you." Skye stated looking at Sharon. Sharon looked like she was about to say something but stopped as they all felt a new presence over the link.

"You guys need to get out." Skye stated

"What?"

"She is about to wake up." Skye informed them

"Then why do we need to leave?"

"Stand back against the wall." Skye told them "please." She asked so they moved back. Skye pulled off Alex's blanket just as Alex attacked. Skye managed to block her and stop her from unleashing a burst of air. "Alex! It's me!" Skye stated gripping her arms as Alex had flipped her onto the bed and was about to punch her she stopped her shoulders tensed before sitting back.

"Skye?" She asked confused "where am I?" She asked letting Skye get back up.

"What do you remember?" Skye asked back.

"I was shot...you...the agency? Skye what exactly happened? My head... I hear others... who are these people."

"Maria I think this is your cue." Skye stated now that Alex had stopped attacking. Alex turned to meet Maria held her gaze for five seconds before looking down. She seemed to tense at this realisation not sure why she was looking down. Maria then began to explain project Lupa to her and as she explained the more stiff Alex seemed to get.

"Again...you had no right." Alex stated after Maria had finished explaining.

"You were dying Al..." Skye stated

"You let them do this?" Alex asked

"Technically no, I was unconscious at the time...but if I wasn't I would have wanted them to do it. I just got you back I was not going to lose you. Call me selfish but I was not wanting to lose you." Skye replied

"This happened again...my luck must be pisspoor for this to happen again."

"They are nothing like Marcel."

"What is your job? If they ask you to kill would you?" Alex asked Skye who was tense because yes if they asked her to she would, if she was protecting one of them or the innocent. "Does not matter what side they are on they are the same we are weapons. It doesn't need a fancy title or under a different name...they will use us."

"You were trying to dismantle his operation yes?" Maria asked gaining her attention as Alex and Skye seemed to have a glare off.

"What of it?" Alex snapped back only to wince and looked down tilting her neck to Maria. "Damn if Marcel knew whatever you guys did he would want this." Alex mumbled before apologising to Maria.

"You are not weapons you are part of my pack. There is a difference between us and them. You will see over time." Maria stated knowing that no matter how many words she used or promises she made Alex would not believe her and on this she did not want to use the Alpha bond. Alex looked like she wanted to retort but instead she remained quiet once again looking down. Before she looked back up and those around the room her gaze stopping on Sharon. Maria knew that look, it was her wolf recognising her mate. She however did not let the feeling take hold like most instead she looked around the others. She was weary of Natasha and seemed on edge around Bobbie who was next to Skye once more.

"I take it I have to ask permission to leave?" Alex asked

"For the time being yes. And to answer if you can leave you can leave the room but you are to stay inside until your wolf is under control."

"I am in control." Alex retorted instantly

"You may think you are but you are not used to the wolf yet." Maria replied she saw that Alex clenched her jaw but said nothing. "I think introduction are in need." Maria added once again gaining her attention. "I am Maria Hill your Alpha." Maria stated noting that Alex looked down at this accepting that she was her alpha. "Natasha Romanoff my beta. Then we have Melinda May, Bobbie Morse, Jemma Simmons, Phil Coulson and Sharon Carter." Maria introduced those in the room finishing with Sharon on purpose as it meant Alex looked at her last and Maria could see the pull towards each other once again. Alex was looking deep into Sharons eyes before managing to break eye contact she cleared her throat looking back at Maria.

"The others outside the room?" Alex asked as she could feel five others in the room outside.

"If your up for a tour?" Maria stated but she already knew that Alex had used her gifts to get a feel for the place so already knew how big the house was, where and how many rooms there were. Alex ended up nodding getting off the bed Maria led the way out with Natasha as Mel and Phil wanted some time with Skye she knew Bobbie was not going to leave her and Simmons had left already to go back to Fitz. Sharon was standing there looking at Alex not sure what to do.

"Sharon can give the tour, you and I need to discuss what Vic found out." Natasha stated seeming Sharon was pleading with them across the bond. Alex looked from Natasha to Sharon she at first looked like she wanted to protest until they heard a small growl escape her lips. It made the others go on alert but Maria knew that it was her wolf wanting to go with Sharon so Alex reluctantly went with her. Maria was keeping a watch over the link to make sure everything was going fine, it was a little stiff but at least they were talking.
