Project Lupa Assassins vs the Pack chronicles CHAPTER 7

After the tour they finished back in the lounge where the others had gathered, Fitz was with Simmons both looked at Alex with a bit of fear. Clint was with Pietro and Trip on the couch playing a video game. Wanda was off to one side reading a book. They all stopped though when Sharon came back in with Alex. Skye stood up away from Bobbie and May heading over to Alex noting that her friend was tense as she assessed the others in the room.

"ti puoi rilassare." (You can relax) Skye told her

"sono estranei." ( they are strangers) Alex retorted

"non ti faranno del male." (They will not hurt you.)

"You cannot guarantee that." Alex replied switching from Italian to English sharing a look with Skye as an understanding passed between them this made Skye look down she could understand where Alex was coming from.

"Only time will tell, Al...this is Clint, Pietro, Wanda, Trip and Fitz." Skye introduces the others in the room. Trip being the guy he is gave her a big smile and a wave before being pulled back into the game. Alex looked them over assessing each person. When her gaze landed on Wanda she stopped and tilted her head as she assessed her. "Alex?" Skye asked watching as her friend stared at Wanda but was no longer seeing her, she was clearly lost in thought she shook her head to clear it and turned back to look at Skye.

"Marcel knows what I am trying to do, I do not have time for this. I need to go." Alex stated

"You won't be going anywhere for a while, to start with you can tell us exactly what it is your planning and who is behind this?" Coulson stated Alex actually growled at him surprising herself along with the others.

"Your wolf is not ready to leave." Maria stated entering the room getting everyone's attention.

"I am not looking for a new job, I am not asking for your permission I have been on my own for a while now and know what I am doing anyone else will only be a nuisance." Alex retorted "I know the problem and I know the solution." Alex added this made Skye tense and stare at her. She stepped towards her and grabbed her chin inspecting her eyes. "I am still me, it's my saying." Alex reassured her. "Besides you know why they should not help. You have attached yourself to them...if he...if they try to help..."

"They know how to handle themselves." Skye replied

"Not against him and his people." Alex retorted.

"It's like we aren't even here." Trip stated but was ignored.

"You want to protect them yes?" Alex asked

"Well yeah..."

"Then they shouldn't be involved if it is just me..."

"They could catch you again."

"They've been trying for the last six years."

"Don't get cocky." Skye interrupted

"Cocky? It has not been that long you have forgotten me? Since when would you describe me as cocky?"

"Since when would you go after him alone?"

"Those that get close always end up dead you know this more than anyone."

"It's different this time!"

"Because of them? These are not my people..." Alex stopped and clutches her head. "What is this?" She demanded

"Your wolf, you might not see us but your wolf does. We are your pack." Maria stated she moved closer with caution she could feel Alex protesting, pushing back the bond.

"No! You are Skye's people I do not need anyone!" Alex stated gripping her head. Maria could tell that Alex was in pain but she was not giving into it.

'Maria, claim dominance.' Skye told her over the link.

'What?'

'It is the only way she will accept it.' Skye replied just as Alex squared her shoulders and held her head up high. Maria took a step closer to her letting her own wolf rise to the surface. The others in the room took a step back, they could tell what was going on.

Alex was trying to hold her ground but ended up closing her eyes taking the smallest step back, Maria needed more though. She needed to know that Alex would fall in line, her wolf was demanding the pups submission. A small growl escaped Maria's lips making a small whine escape Alex's. She took a bigger step back this time and looked down to the floor tilting her head to the left to expose her neck. Maria moves in on her, her wolf was talking to Alex's she could tell that Alex was submissive but she could also feel a small amount of defiance coming off her and Maria's wolf was not happy. Before Maria really thought about it, she let her wolf take over claiming Alex as part of the pack. Her mark forever to be on the section of her neck that joins her shoulder. Only other wolves would see it once it healed. Once the mark was in place Alex moved back and looked down all defiance gone she was 100% submissive.

That night they were sitting around the table, they had spent the rest of the afternoon in a conference meeting where Alex and Skye filled everyone in on who exactly Marcel was. Maria, Natasha, May and Coulson all could tell that they were both still holding something back and Natasha made it clear to them not to push them for answers. Alex and Skye had then spent a while alone talking it had both Sharon and Bobbie tense. Then half an hour before dinner Alex had pulled Sharon aside to talk. As they sat around the table they could all see that Alex was tense, she remained quiet but they knew she was taking everything in.

There was an awkwardness around the room that night and it did not go unnoticed by pretty much everyone as they settled on the couch for a movie. Alex looked confused at what they were doing.

"Movie night." Skye informed her getting comfy sitting next to Bobbie who put an arm around Skye as she did she noticed Alex staring at it. Skye sat up just remembering something. "You have seen a movie right?" Skye asked at this the room went silent as Alex shook her head.

"You've never seen a movie? Not one?" Fitz asked he was with Simmons on the couch already with his popcorn at the ready.

"Not since..." Alex replied looking down only Skye understood what she was meaning.

"That was not a movie...that was torture. Movies aren't that..." Skye replied she hadn't thought of that night in years. It was before they escaped Marcel and their handlers who were sick bustards.

"Something stuck...haven't been able to..."Alex stopped she had opened up too much already today they did not need to know everything. She couldn't sit in front of a screen for too long without hearing those screams echo in her ears.

"I'm tired." Alex stated hoping to go to her room to get away from the stares usually she was never bothered by much but being around these people for such a short amount of time they were changing her and right now she wasn't sure if it was for the better.

"Alex, don't go to bed on a negative." Skye stated the others didn't know what that meant.

"My life is a negative." Alex replied moving towards the room she was shown that was hers. She wasn't surprised that Skye followed her.

"Talk to me Al." Skye stated

"I want this to be over with." Alex replied her breathing increased surprising her, what was happening? She was finding it difficult to breathe.

"Hey, look at me. You're having a panic attack." Skye stated she was standing in front of her.

"A what?" Alex asked she never has panic attacks. The air in the room started reacting to her.

"Alex, focus on me." Skye stated digging her nails into Alex's arms. Alex who was looking around the room turned to look at Skye. "siamo io e te" (It is you and me.) Skye stated this grabbed Alex's attention

"non posso..." (I can't) she did not know what was happening to her.

"non lo controlli al contrario!" (You control it not the other way around) Skye told her as it suddenly became very windy inside the room "respira e basta." (just breathe.) "Seguimi!" (Follow me) Skye added showing her as she took deep breaths Alex tried following her but the air was stale she needed fresh air. The wind was now blowing everything around the room trying to assist her but it was not working She needed to get out.

"ho bisogno di uscire!" (I need to get out) She cried out but Skye dug her nails into her arms that it drew blood.

"Breathe!" Skye shouted at her snapping out of her struggling her eyes were glowing blue, that was not good. She pulled Alex in for a hug pouring energy into their bond forcing her to calm down. It was working the air in the room was lessening Skye ended up gripping her as Alex's legs gave out on her. Skye helped her onto the now messy bed as she looked around the room, it was a mess.

"Skye?" Maria asked she was standing in the doorway with Natasha it was clear they all felt what had happened.

"She's fine." Skye replied looking down at her unconscious friend. "She was starting to freak out."

"That was her starting to freak out?" Maria asked she had moved to the room when they felt the panic over the bond but she couldn't get in the door because of the air pressure blocking the door. That was until Natasha ripped the door off they saw what looked like a mini tornado spinning around Alex and Skye who were standing in the middle of it.

"If she was fully freaking out this room, hell this section of the house would be gone." Skye replied

"Do you know what caused it?" Natasha asked

"She has always been in control. Not just her powers but her emotions the two of them are connected this bond well it is opening up emotions she has never used before. She's always been the strong one...always." Skye mumbled

"Is she alright?" Maria asked as Skye leaned back on her hunches seeming she was kneeling on the bed.

"She will sleep it off..." Skye stopped herself

"What is it?" Maria asked noting her worry.

"She was on the brink of turning, I don't know how her wolf will react to her powers." Skye stated voicing her thoughts. This had also been bugging Maria but they wouldn't know until something happened.
