Project Lupa Assassins vs the Pack chronicles CHAPTER 10

It had been two days since their spar and in that time Skye had been serious about her training, she has been busy with May and Natasha in the gym. Alex had been busy in the garage helping Fitz and Simmons with the box they were all surprised that she was the one to open it but it was a device that no one had seen before and Alex had no idea what it was, it was clearly a prototype of something. The distance between Alex and Sharon was growing Maria figured she was going to have to intervene if they kept this up. She also noticed the way Alex was reacting around the others, she was stiff and only spoke to them when they asked a question, she was quiet and always watching them. Natasha had noticed this also and was making an effort to include her in conversations but even then Alex would only reply if asked a question, when she wasn't in the garage she was outside which is where she was now. Maria saw that she was under the tree just sitting there, she also saw Sharon watching her. She turned to look at Maria but neither one spoke Sharon was the one to walk away first.

Skye appeared beside Alex claiming the spot next to her with a sigh.

"Finished already?" Alex asked knowing she had been with May working out.

"May got a call, you need to stop pushing her away." Skye replied

"I don't know what you're talking about."

"You can' lie to me remember, I know you want to talk to her."

"She is pure Skye." Alex replied after a long hesitation this made Skye sit up and stare at her with a hard look in her eyes.

"We agreed you'd stop thinking like that."

"I'm an experiment, with a red past…I've done things I am not proud of not to mention Marcel if he found out about her. She can hate me for all I care…"

"What aren't you saying Alex?" Skye asked

"You know how this is going to end right?" Alex asked

"I have no idea how this is going to end. Neither do you, we are not alone now, its not us against the world any longer. We have a team, a family." Skye replied

"Your optimism is sweet Skye." Alex replied looking back at the house before she got a far away look in her eyes.

"Alex talk to me."

"I cracked his system."

"What?" Skye asked

"I know where he is going to be in two days time." She replied

"You're only telling us this now?" Skye asked

"That's because you're not going, you won't be going anywhere near him. I will not let him get the chance to claim you again."

"We agreed."

"No, you all agreed, I never agreed to it."

"You can't face him alone." Skye stated she watched as Alex stood up looking up at the sky.

"You found yourself some good people here Skye, I won't let him hurt them."

"Alex." Skye got to her feet and tackled her to the ground. "You are not going alone." Skye stated but Alex got out of her hold, that was how they ended up fighting outside. There is a difference between sparring and fighting, Skye could see this in Alex's movements they were harder and faster, more precise.

"You are still not at the level to beat me Skye why try?" Alex asked after she had Skye in a hold.

"Distraction." Skye choked out.

"What?" Alex asked realising what she meant she looked at the door pushing Skye off her she got to her feet intending to get in the air only to be tackled from behind once again but this time it was Natasha. Alex fought back, landing several blows on her until she growled at her making Alex freeze her wolf went submissive letting out a small whine. Natasha was the beta of the pack and mate to the alpha Alex's wolf knew her place. "I'm trying to protect you." Alex asked managing to land a blow to Natasha dazing her so that Alex could push her off only to end up fighting Bobbie, Natasha ended up joining in so it was two against one but still Alex held her ground. As her fist connected with Bobbie's face pain shot through Alex's head forcing her to her knees she cried out in surprise that was when she heard a growl, hands were still holding her down as she tried to struggle against them when she looked up she met Maria's cold hard stare and all the fight went out of her. "NO please…I am trying to protect you." Alex begged as she could feel Maria inside her head.

"Stop fighting us." Maria ordered, the last of the fight Alex had been holding in was now gone she looked down going completely submissive. Natasha pulled her up to her feet and Maria took her back inside up to her room where they had a rather long chat. Maria knew that she used her alpha power on Alex which is why she was currently now asleep on Maria's bed after she had informed her of her plan. Maria made sure that Alex would not run off by herself on a solo vendetta, that was close to a suicide mission than an actual plan. Maria doesn't normally dive into her packmates memories but Alex was an anomaly to Maria so much about her was a mystery not to mention that she was planning to leave without Maria's permission after being told she couldn't she needed to know what else she was hiding.

It started off with the white rooms, Alex strapped to a table as men in lab coats experimented on her, pain so much pain. Fast forwarding through many experiments and training regimes. The first time she was introduced to Skye every punishment they were put through. Maria was tempted to leave her mind then and there these two had been through so much. She looked at the sleeping wolf on the bed. This time when she entered her link she saw her assignments they were sent on, Alex looking through the scope of a rifle to standing over a man making it look like suicide. Several other victims the screams were overpowering anything else. Blood so much blood but still Maria could feel this need to protect Skye outweighing any order or assignment. She saw her protecting Skye from beatings, taking her place for assignments she knew that Skye would not want to do. She saw the guards, the scientists and the figure of Marcel he was clouded in shadows. She saw happy moments in her life most to do with Skye, seeing her smile or laugh. She saw her protect Skye by faking her death. The hurt she felt when she could not save her friend, wanting to stop Marcel. She saw how she got intel, how she fought Marcel's men what she wanted to do to Marcel. That was dark. She saw her take on them and the pack from her perspective she didn't want to get attached. Her thoughts on Sharon…how Alex felt that she would never be good enough for Sharon, that Sharon was innocent and that she would not want to endanger her. She knew that Marcel was wanting her back, that he would get her and use her again. That Alex had a deep fear of this, that he would be able to control her again worse he would control Skye and take away this life from her. Maria saw her plan, how she intended to leave and confront him only for neither of them would make it out. She was going to take him down with her along with him. That she felt she did not deserve to live. This feeling was buried deep within her head and Maria nearly missed it. Alex still planned on leaving, that they were not going to stop her from protecting Skye.

Maria left her thoughts and looked at the sleeping wolf, she moved in her sleep so that she was closer to Maria reaching out for her. Maria ran her hand down her back in comfort Alex instantly settled.

"I'm sorry." Maria whispered before entering her mind again, but this time instead of looking at her memories she placed a command. This command was for her not to leave the pack. Again Alex seemed to stir in her sleep but did not wake up.
