Project Lupa Assassins vs the Pack chronicles CHAPTER 12

Maria could not believe it, right now the pack was in an uproar. It should have been impossible, what Alex did should have been impossible. She had sent May and Natasha after her but her scent disappeared, they had no way of tracking her and she could no longer contact her over the link. It was still there but fuzzy almost like an echo, she took this as a meaning that Alex was still part of her pack. Skye was angry, between Bobbie and herself though they managed to calm her down although Maria could sense that Bobbie was just as angry. Sharon was a mess, between confused, angry and sad she had wanted to leave right away to track her down but after May and Natasha came back she kept her wolves with her. She still couldn't believe that there was a hole in the side of her house now she had to admit she was slightly furious over that when they got her back she would be having some serious words with her.

"You know what she will be doing. Where she is going." Natasha stated next to her she looked over at her.

"After Marcel." Maria agreed, she figured she would be going on with her plan.

"We will need to stop her." Natasha stated

"I have every intention of stopping her."

"You called Clint in?" Natasha asked at this Maria nodded she had the blueprints of the building that Alex had located Marcel will be in tomorrow.

"Need all the fighters I have, if what Alex said was true and how he would have enhanced people with him. He knows she is after him."

"You think this is a trap?"

"Don't you?" Maria shot back

"Are you going to tell the others?"

"I would rather keep this within the family." Maria replied, Nick was not happy that he had brought her onto this project if he found out she could do this he might just kill her.

"He wouldn't, Sharon is her soulmate."

"It seems Alex did not understand that, she thought we were the ones that did this to her."

"We should have corrected her." Natasha stated

"I want to know how she left when I installed an alpha command." Maria mumbled lost in thought.

"She's gone rogue." Natasha stated

"No, I still feel the link." Maria replied

"She's protecting us." Skye stated making Maria and Natasha turn to face her. "She wasn't lying when she said she was programmed to protect me. She knows what he would do if he got his hands on us, if he found out about this…" she waved her hand indicating the link. "He would use us, his people that he keeps close are the best of the best. We were being groomed to join them before we left. They're all killers, no hesitation, no guilt. She is all about protecting me and now in turn all of you. The way she watched over everyone the last couple of days…she's taking it upon herself to protect us. She is choosing to protect us. Alex knows what needs to be done, her morals…are not like ours."

"Grab your bags, we're leaving for Chicago." Maria informed the others over the link, this house…they would have to rebuild. Once their business was dealt with in Chicago they would have to stay in the apartments in DC.

"What are you going to do to her?" Skye asked Maria, who turned to look at her she could see the protectiveness in her eyes.

"Right now my priority is to stop her from doing something reckless." Maria replied, she would admit things have been different since Alex joined but she was still a member of her pack and Maria protects her pack.

They were in Chicago, everyone was in position Maria was keeping Skye next to Natasha and Coulson. She overlooked the building, Fitz and Simmons were still on the bus but the others were on the street amongst the crowd. Clint was on the roof of the building across the road. Bobbie and Trip were the ones closes to the entrance, Trip was disguised as a valet. Maria tried to focus on the link with Alex but it was still to distant to make a connection but Maria just knew that she would be in the area somewhere.

'Stay alert. This is the time she discovered.' Maria informed them.

'I can sense her.' Sharon stated surprising Maria as she could not sense her link it was still too hazy.

'Where?' Maria asked but Sharon did not respond instead she entered the building across from their target. 'Sharon what are you doing?'

'Stopping her from doing something reckless.'

'I will come to you.' Maria stated

'No, please. I can do it, you just focus on Marcel.' Sharon replied with a small hesitation Maria agreed she knew that Sharon had a plan but not what it was she was keeping that from the others.

Sharon followed the sense of her mate, trusting her wolf to guide her. She made her way to the 10th floor when her wolf went crazy, she knew that Alex would know she was there so she had to be fast. She found her by a window looking across the road Alex didn't turn to face her.

"I figured you guys would be here, didn't expect you to be the one to confront me though." Alex stated still not turning to face her.

"You think we were the ones to make this bond, you're wrong. You said my words, you are my soul mate." Sharon stated "Soul mates are…" she went to explain but Alex turned to face her.

"I know what soul mates are, they erased my words. It still does not change anything though." Alex replied

"What was your plan here?" Sharon asked

"Plan? I couldn't go through with my plan, I tried but I physically couldn't." Alex stated she seemed upset at it. "at least not until now." Alex added

"You needed the pack. Maria's command was still in place." Sharon pieced together

"She brought everyone. I wanted to do this alone, so you wouldn't be dragged into this. It's a trap, I know it's a trap. I know how Marcel thinks. But I can't go in, because if I go in I will be putting you all in danger and that is something I can't do." Alex stated "That is why I am in this room looking down there watching my chance disappear with every passing second." Alex turned back to look at the building across from them, Sharon knew that Maria was listening in to this conversation she also knew that this was from a command Maria had given her.

"So, what happens now?" Sharon asked

"Now? Now you tell Maria to tell the others to fall back. His scout has been in the street for the last five minutes. Don't let him see Skye." She added "In a fight you would lose, the pack vs assassins? His specially trained assassins. We would lose to many, this is one fight the pack cannot win."

"You'll be coming back with us." Sharon stated

"One way or another this ends today." Alex retorted

"You just said you can't go through with it." Sharon pointed out

"With my first plan, I have many plans…most of which I can't do but there is one." Alex stated that was when Sharon saw the rifle next to the window.

"You said this was a trap. What is the likely hood of him showing up if he knows you are a sniper?" Sharon asked

"This? This is not for him." Alex stated Sharon took this chance to move closer to her so she was right next to her. Their was something in her tone that Sharon was not liking.

"You will be coming back with us." Sharon stated but this time there was no room for argument in her tone.

"I don't…" Alex stopped as Sharon's wolf spoke to hers forcing her to submit. "What are you doing?" Alex cried out but she could feel her wolf giving in, wanting to please Sharon, wanting to take Sharon as her mate. In that instant Alex figured what she was doing, Sharon was claiming dominance over the mate bond. Alex growled trying to fight back, but Sharon was on her…kissing her making her wolf submit. Sharon's hand happened to be on top of her soul mark sending sparks through it. Pure bliss radiated through her as her mind clouded over enjoying the kiss. When Sharon stepped back Alex was confused but happy, a pleasant tingle settled under her skin especially where her soul mark used to be. "What?" Alex asked in a slight daze.

"We are pulling back, you are coming with us back to the plane." Sharon instructed, Alex could only nod, noting that Sharon took hold of her hand while grabbing the rifle with the other as Alex handed her the case for it. Sharon put it away before pulling Alex out of the room, Alex following behind letting her take the lead, now willing to follow Sharon anywhere. Sharon knew that Alex would be in a blissed-out state for a few hours and felt only a little bad for forcing this onto her but knew this was the only way to save her.
