A/N: Apologies for the absence! My other hobbies always pop up randomly and I got distracted by Halloween.
Splitting this in two, mainly because I feel bad that I've left this so long without an update. And I'm kind of winging this part of the story.
Working on the next chapters for the other CM stories too so hope to have some updates in the next week or so.
Chapter 13: Just How Many Unsubs Are We Looking For?
Portland, Oregon, United States of America
"Detective Thomas? SSA Jennifer Jareau, we spoke on the phone. This is SSA Morgan."
"Yes, hello. Thank you for making your way out here. You know, when I asked for help from the BAU I was expecting…more of you?"
JJ and Detective Thomas shook hands before Morgan reached out as well. "Yes, there's six of us in total, two are already at the station and the others are with the ME."
"Great, well let's get started shall we? This way, follow me."
The Detective led them over to where the body was found. "There's not much here but I figure you might be able to gather some clues."
Morgan and JJ took a look around the wooded area. The detective was right, there's not a lot there but there were some tracks leading away from where the body had laid but they abruptly stopped. There were no tyre tracks either so that just confused the agents even more.
"How did the unsub just disappear like that? Know of anything that could take them away but leave no tracks?"
"Definitely a strange one. C'mon let's get back to the precinct." Replied Morgan.

Harrison was standing at the victim board still when the rest of the team rejoined Hotch and Potter in the precinct; it was covered with at least 30 images of the people the Death Eaters had murdered. They were certainly making a scene.
"Potter, I realize that this will be hard for you, but I'd like for you to tell us as much as you can about your last altercation with the unsub." Ordered Hotchner.
The team watched as Potter seemed to ignore their Chief, not visibly reacting to the order. They needn't have worried though, the agent slowly turned to look at his new team that had sat down at some point before taking a breath and joining them at the table. Swallowing, Harrison began his tale.
"My field team only consisted of myself and three others, none of our teams in MI5 are very large - it's not as big an organization as the FBI. We had shoddy intel. We should never have infiltrated the mansion with the information we had but our bosses were getting antsy. We needed to get the situation under control and fast, " Harrison ran a shaky hand down his face. "There were seven people in that house - we were only expecting three. One of them was our informant, Zacharias Smith. We had walked straight into an ambush none the wiser. The informant was someone that I had gone to school with and had not suspected a thing. We managed to incapacitate four of the unsubs before it went downhill. They picked us off one by one until it was just me and the only reason I got away was because Smith had a sudden change of heart and managed to get me out of the house."
"My team were all murdered, single shot to the heads. I barely got out of there alive and I didn't regain consciousness until a week later. Woken to the news that my team was dead and the seven unsubs managed to get away. We didn't hear about them traveling abroad until fairly recently and we obviously did not have jurisdiction overseas."
"Do you have the names of the seven that got away?" asked Hotch.
"Only five of them and I don't believe any of them is the leader of the group. Four of them were Voldemort's commanders or the remaining ones anyway. One is still unaccounted for and there is clearly more out there we don't know about."
"Great, we can start with those five then. Back to you Potter."
The team watched as Harrison stood back up and made his way back to the board with his previously discarded files. He pinned the first image up before turning back to the room. The team saw a young man, tall, skinny and blonde haired. Nose slightly upturned.
"This is Zacharias Smith, he was in my graduating year at Gaidhealtachd. While I never really saw him as a friend, I at least never suspected he was a spy for the other side. My friends and I formed a study group in our fifth year and he was a member. He openly challenged me multiple times both in this study group and as the leader of our faction. Throughout our school years, Smith was generally just an unpleasant person to be around. He was obnoxious and rude to the point that I don't think he was very well liked by anyone. We assumed he was a coward when it came to the final battle - he fled with his tail between his legs. But we now assume he fled to join his rightful side in the war."
Harrison pinned the next two pictures up. "These are the Lestrange brothers, Rodolphus and Rabastan. Incredibly loyal to Lord Voldemort, both willing to commit terrible atrocities under his name. Rodolphus' wife was also one of Voldemort's commanders but was killed in the battle. I don't know much about them apart from the encounters I had with them personally, which wasn't all that many times. Of the three of them, I believe Bellatrix, Rodolphus's wife took the brains with them. The brothers don't seem all that bright to be honest which is why we don't consider them to be the leaders."
