Interruption

Disclaimer: I don't own Lost, props to ABC and JJ.
Author's Note: So, here is goes, my first FanFiction. Though, I think I will still get this horribly wrong, I am one of the many Lost addicts. I'm going to try 3rd person since I am most comfortable with role play style, I have also added in one more character. This will be set to the newest episode. The chapters will be short, but I should be adding a new one every few days.
What Life Has Become
While most had set up tents far from the shore line a young woman, sat, no shelter on the beach. She had tipped a black cowboy hat well over freckles and hazel eyes. Wispy yet worn hands brushed off her jeans and black tank-top while tapping her dusty black boots on the ground. She was at her 'spot', against a smooth log about 20 feet from Sawyer's tent. Beside her sat only a navy windbreaker and small handbag. One could already tell she was a cowgirl, born and raised in Louisiana a big time rodeo champ and ranch owner.
She slipped her wavy auburn hair into a pony tail under her hat and picked up her bag. Carefully un-zipping it and placing it on her lap she pulled out one of three books she had acquired from Sawyer. With a sigh she began flipping through the pages, only stopping to look up at the afternoon sky. The female quickly set down the book and looked blankly out to the ocean, board with this rather soon. She lifted her hand to clutch a small, silver horse charm that hung around her neck, tracing the lines and edges by memory. On this hand was a shiny diamond, encased in platinum.
Leah leaned back against the log and pulled her feet to her chest, placed her book delicately on the ground. In all the days spent here she had not bothered to build a shelter, she was here, exploring or at the caves. Leah had only gotten to know a few people, even fewer really knew her. Leah wanted to be seen as the trust able and 'perfect'. Perfect... she almost laughed at her own thoughts. Leah had been through more things in her short years than many in a life time; marriages, divorces, championship, huge losses, success...murder. Leah's background was one of great intrigue.
Her eyes returned to the horizon, then scanned over the beach. Rose was hanging laundry, Sawyer was reading, Jin was fishing, it seemed this was daily life now, along with Jack, frantically running around, trying to find someone to save. Oddly enough her stare returned to the other Southern on the island.
Sawyer was looking through a book, not reading, but eyes still strained from the lack of glasses. He rubbed his brow and seemed to scowl at the book, yet that was just his look. He quickly gave up and tossed down the book, when he looked up Leah's eyes had returned to the opposite side of the beach.
A bit further than Sawyer's hut was Claire, now strictly Claire's. After the 'baby drowning' and 'drug discovery' Charlie had been banished to the caves. The woman sitting against the log, saw much of her in Charlie, at a younger age of course. She smiled at the thought of her, possilbly 10 years ago, a mere 22.
