I have dedicated a chapter each for Teddy and Daisy. This one is dedicated to Daisy Dudley Dursley, now known as Daisy Potter. Written as Diary Entries.
You will find some similarities between this chapter and the previous chapter. But not everything is the same. We may be talking about two people from the same background, but they are two different individuals nonetheless.
Dear Diary,
I met you when Harry and Ginny Potter took me to Diagon Alley to get my school supplies. Mum and Dad are my biological parents. I'll introduce them in a bit.
I had received my Hogwarts letter yesterday. Harry had yelled with joy holding it. He literally cried into the letter! Ginny had also gotten emotional and was wiping her eyes. Both of them were ecstatic to see my Hogwarts invitation letter.
I caught a few words they said. "Dudley Dursley." This is my biological father. He was a boxing champion in his later teens and before he had me. "Clara Dursley." My biological mother. She was Dad's girlfriend, and they hadn't married yet. That's right, I was born out of wedlock. Mum and Dad were muggles, i.e. Non Magical People. That makes me Muggleborn. Muggleborns are witches or wizards born to muggle parents. Like Hermione.
Oh, did I forget? Ronald Weasley and Hermione Weasley nee Granger and their children also stay with us.
My parents wanted to visit Diagon Alley and Hogwarts. My grandmother, Petunia wanted to study at Hogwarts. Unfortunately, none of their wishes came true. They all died in a car crash when I was a baby. I survived, according to Harry, because I'm a witch and had bounced away from danger. When I didn't believe it, Ginny told me I had once jumped from the top of the stairs, and instead landing hard on the ground, I had bounced off the floor and landed gracefully away from the steps. This had apparently happened when I was not even a year old.
Up until I received my Hogwarts letter, I studied in a muggle school. My older brother, Teddy Lupin, who is already at Hogwarts now, and my younger siblings all studied in the same muggle school after me, and will do so until they receive their Hogwarts letters. We all receive our Hogwarts letters at eleven.
As soon as we went to the Leaky Cauldron, we didn't delay any further and immediately entered Diagon Alley. Harry already had money with him, so we didn't have to go to Gringotts Bank. Otherwise we might have had to.
It was a long day but totally worth it. Harry and Ginny took me around Diagon Alley, buying my books, uniform and other school supplies, but also buying me chocolates and ice cream. It was just like it had been for Teddy. I got an owl too. She is snowy, and Harry says she looks like Hedwig. Hedwig was Harry's snowy white owl while Harry was a Hogwarts student, but she died in the Second Wizarding War. Besides, this owl looks younger than Teddy's snowy white owl. I have named her NOON.
It was nightfall when we returned home. My younger siblings were asleep, but Teddy was awake. He smiled encouragingly at me before going to bed. My gut feeling is that he knew I was feeling frightened at the prospect of leaving Harry, Ron, Ginny, and Hermione and going away to my own dormitory. Mum and Dad are dead, and so are my grandparents. I was feeling like I'd be unloved or forgotten. I hated being alone, but knew Teddy would be there with me at Hogwarts. Somehow, I just knew. I have never felt like an unwanted orphan here, and at Hogwarts, Teddy would ensure the same for my sake.
Dear Diary,
As September the First approaches, I have a funny feeling. I know Teddy will have my back at Hogwarts, that's what eases me. I wonder which House I will be sorted into, and whether I will make lots of friends. Harry, Ron and Hermione were known as the Golden Trio back in their time at Hogwarts. They had a solid friendship and were always seen together. They've been on adventures together. Later, Harry fell in love with Ginny, while Ron and Hermione fell in love. They say you meet your friends and soul mates at Hogwarts. I'm not sure if that's true. So, good night.
DEAR DIARY
SEPTEMBER THE FIRST!!
I woke up at five in the morning. Harry and Ginny had helped me pack all my Hogwarts stuff into my trunk last night. Teddy had stayed behind and encouraged me last night before sleeping. Now, Teddy and Harry, Ron, Hermione, and Ginny were ready to take me to Kings Cross Station. I am a grown up, eleven year old! I should take care of myself.
I had said goodbye to Rose, Lily, James, Albus, and Hugo the previous night so they needn't be woken up early in the morning to bid me goodbye. This was Teddy's idea actually.
At the Station, Ron and Hermione were jovial and encouraging. They hugged Teddy and me, and instructed Teddy to keep an eye out for me. Harry and Ginny appeared to have lumps in their throats. When they spoke, it sounded like they croaked. They were instructing Teddy to watch out for me, and hugged him as well as me. They kissed us goodbye. Then, Teddy helped me onto the train. We said goodbye and went into the train. Next thing I know, the train had pulled off from Platform 9 .
First years traditionally go to Hogwarts from Hogsmeade Station by boat. Teddy told me he would go by carriages. I used my final weapon; the puppy look. It gave me everything I asked for, since people couldn't say no when I made that face. It was not going to work this time however. Teddy clearly said no. I will have to go by boat and meet him at the castle where he would have gone by carriage. So, I ran to one of the boats. As the boats moved, I stared with wide eyes. This glorious tower had opened it's arms to welcome me. Am I being poetic? I don't know. The point is, I was amazed!
In the Great Hall, I saw Teddy at the Hufflepuff table. Of course, in the last two years, we knew he was in Hufflepuff. So I knew the table he sat at was the Hufflepuff table.
HUFFLEPUFF! I got sorted into Hufflepuff too! I felt so good! I can be with my brother, Teddy now!
After the Sorting, I sat on the Hufflepuff table and saw Teddy talking to Professor Neville Longbottom. I'm sure this was to send an owl to Ginny and Harry to inform them about me. The Herbology Professor was nodding happily at Teddy. He was a Gryffindor, and was a classmate and dorm mate of Harry's back in his school days, Teddy told me as he and I walked to the Hufflepuff Common Room.
Teddy encouraged me to go and rest. Professional McGonagall personally gave me the time table. But I could see something in the professors eyes. She was looking for something in MY eyes. I had the distinct feeling she was looking for someone specific in my eyes. I couldn't place it, but I had the feeling I knew what. My suspicion was proven correct when I heard the Professor croak, "Lily!" as I turned to leave. She was obviously looking for my grandmothers' sister, Lily. Lily was Harry's mother.
Dear Diary,
Harry has started teaching Teddy and I how to cast the Patronus Charm. Of course, he doesn't expect us to master the charm immediately. He himself learnt the charm at the age of thirteen. He just wants us to start practicing so we can cast the charm in future. Harry's patronus is a stag, while Ginny's is a horse! I'm excited to see Teddy's and my patronuses! I turned twelve two days ago, and Teddy has already been fourteen for a few weeks now.
Today, I decided to take a walk before I practiced the charm. That's when I walked in to the courtyard. Teddy was snogging this silvery haired girl with blue eyes! It turned out to be Victorie Weasley, our cousin!
What's more? Teddy confessed to me that they're now officially together!
