I don't own RWBY. Rooster Teeth does.
Jaune and Ren followed the bandit through the camp. The very feeling of being caught made them feel extremely uneasy. Bandits eyed them, more specifically Ren. Jaune was lucky to be wearing one of their outfits to prevent suspicion. However, the stares still made him uncomfortable.
The bandit camp was fairly large. There was a large wooden wall that was sharpened at the ends to prevent intruders from breaching the wall. Not that it would do much against the Grimm. That itself made the camp even stranger. The lack of Grimm around the camp. This many people here harboring this much negative intent. It was practically a beacon for all the Grimm in the area yet they found none. Jaune couldn't even sense any. It was like they all vanished or ran away but from what. Was it that weird energy coming from the big tent they were approaching?
"We're here," the bandit said, "Wait here."
Jaune nodded while the bandit walked inside the massive tent. He looked over to Ren, who gave him a nod. Just a few more steps and they were in. He needed to do this now. He pulled out his scroll found Pyrrha's contact. He dialed it once she answered, he sent a message telling her to turn on her speaker and placed it in his pocket.
After a few more seconds, the tent flap opened and the bandit walked out.
"The Chief will see you now," he said.
Jaune nodded and pushed Ren forward as they ascended the small wooden steps. He opened a tent flap and mentally apologized to Ren as he shoved him roughly inside. He walked after him and saw a chabudai in the middle of the tent. There was a small tea set sitting on the table as a woman sat behind it. She poured the tea into two cups before looking at him. It was then and there that Jaune realized that she looked familiar.
After a few seconds, he realized why she looked so familiar. She was the spitting image of his classmate, Yang Xiao Long. The shape of her eyes. The length of her hair. Even the ahoge sitting at the top. Everything down to the curves on their bodies was similar. The only thing that made the two different was their hair and eye color. While Yang's hair was blonde, hers was a deep shade of black. And her eyes. They were blood red unlike Yang, whose eyes were normally a lilac color. And Yang did not possess such an aura of power nor did she give off that strange sensation that Jaune and Alice had been feeling throughout the day.
She wore a shallow cut dress that was black and red. Underneath the skirt of the dress were a pair of black shorts. She wore black mid-thigh high leggings and a pair of black heeled combat boots with a red sole. Around her necklace, she wore a series of beads and a belt. Attached to the belt was long black object that had feathers as well as a long red bandana. She wore a pair of gauntlets on her forearms that protruded outward at the elbow.
"Sit," she said. Her voice carried authority and power. So much so that it nearly locked the two in place with fear. This woman. She was far above what they had seen before. Far stronger than that woman Jaune had encountered in the CCT. If he had to make an analogy, fighting her would be akin to fighting a hurricane with a stick. It was highly illogical and impractical, not to mention suicidal.
"Well, I take it that you were the one who found this Huntsman?" she said as she held her hand out.
"Y- Yes!" Jaune said as he shook her hand.
The woman narrowed her eyes as she let go of his hand.
"His scroll?" she asked.
Jaune blinked before reaching into his pocket and fumbling for Ren's scroll. He pulled it out and slid it to the woman, who looked at it and nodded.
"So?" Jaune asked as the woman looked the scroll over.
"It checks out. So, he was a Beacon Student… huh," she said as she placed the scroll facedown.
"Yeah, I found him patrolling the main path," Jaune said, lying through his teeth. He might have messed up a few times here and there but he needed to this to go through. He needed to fool her long enough for the others to get down and begin storming the camp.
"I see. So what were you doing then all this time, Fjord," she asked as she sipped her tea.
"I went to take a leak," he replied.
"I see. And you just happened to chance on him and bring him back then?" she asked as she placed her tea down.
In that instant, Jaune felt completely naked before this woman. Her piercing red eyes appeared as if they were reading his soul. Every little secret he had. Every fear. Every hope. Everything about him was laid bare before her and it made him uncomfortable. Ren was in no better position. Despite the woman's focus being on his leader, Ren still felt the brunt of her presence. It was the same instinct that every prey animal felt when facing a predator.
That instinct was to flee.
"Of course, he tried to knock me out. But, he's just a student so I managed to turn things around and capture him," Jaune said.
"I see. I see," she said. She flipped the scroll over and said four words that made their blood run cold.
"Did you hear that Miss Pyrrha?" she asked as her red eyes never left their faces.
Jaune's face paled as his hands reached into his pocket and found that his scroll wasn't there. He had given her the wrong one.
"You know I have to admit. You had me there for a second. You really did until of course, I asked for the scroll. To think that such a stupid mistake became your biggest downfall," she said, sipping her tea.
"What are you going to do to us now?" Ren asked.
"What am I going to do? Well, I could have you both killed right this instant for trespassing but since you're here from Beacon, I can only assume that Ozpin sent you," she said.
"Ozpin?" Jaune asked.
"Don't play dumb. What does Ozpin want?" the woman asked, glaring at Jaune.
"Ozpin didn't send us," Ren said.
"You lie. The only reason that someone from Beacon would show up at my camp is because Ozpin sent them so why are you here?" she said.
"What are you-!"
The entire camp shook as a loud explosion resounded throughout the area. The woman stumbled in shock to which Jaune quickly moved. He drew Sol and cut Ren's bindings before forming a fist made of pure energy and striking the woman. The fist slammed into her and sent her crashing through the tent and into another.
"Come on, that has to be the others," Ren said.
Jaune nodded as the two ran out of the tent and into the camp.
Earlier
Pyrrha felt a bead of sweat run down her forehead as she used the scope she placed on Milo to watch Ren and Jaune. The two talked to the guards at the front and had managed to enter the camp. Now all they had to do was wait. So far, everything was going according to the plan that Jaune had come up with. He and Ren would go in to take out and subdue the bandit chief. A simple plan on paper. Most bandits out in Remnant were easy prey even for the first year Beacon Student. Most thugs generally were.
They were backup just in case something went wrong. In that event, Goodwitch would spearhead an assault on the camp while the others assisted her in capturing the others. They hoped that it wouldn't come to that. They hoped that Jaune and Ren were capable of using the Chief in order to coerce the others into surrendering. But they were ready for other options, because even Jaune knew that using the Chief as a bargaining chip was not a guaranteed way of getting them to surrender but it was far better than taking on an entire camp.
"Pyrrha," Nora said as she tapped her on the shoulder.
The red-haired girl looked at her as Nora pointed to her scroll. The call. A part of Jaune's plan was to allow them to listen in on the conversation in order to discern the identity of the bandit. Or at least, try to. They were just banking on the fact that Goodwitch was capable of figuring out who the leader was based purely on hope. In addition, Jaune told Pyrrha that he would keep his camera on and make it so that his scroll peeked out of his pocket to try and get a brief image of the bandit.
With that in mind, Pyrrha answered the call while they all gathered around her. Before Jaune and Ren snuck into camp, Jaune told her to turn on her speaker after answering the call. She did just that as they all looked at the screen.
The quality of the camera was less than ideal considering that Jaune had to keep it hidden enough for the chief not to notice it.
"Hmm, that image isn't enough for me to recognize the chief," Glynda said as she pushed her glasses up.
"Yeah but… at least we know that the chief has long black hair and wears all black," Alice said as she looked between the screen and their surroundings. Despite the fact that they were a good distance from the camp, they still needed to look out for any patrols.
"That's not enough for me to go off on and I doubt the voice will help…," she said.
"Wait," Nora said as she saw the camera move. The woman looked directly into the camera and Glynda's heart dropped. Of all the possible bandit chiefs that they could have gone after, it had to be her. Why did it have to be her?
"Miss Goodwitch?" Pyrrha said, looking at Glynda's expression from the corner of her eye.
"They've been had," Glynda said as she watched her place the scroll facedown. They listened to her talk as a bead of sweat ran down Glynda's head.
"We have no choice. We have to go in there and get them out," she said. Glynda reached into her pack and pulled out a few canisters of dust.
The three nodded as they prepared to get ready. They hopped down from the trees as they followed Glynda towards the camp. They hid in some bushes outside the gate as Glynda made hand signals to them.
Pyrrha and Alice nodded as they hung back.
"Ready?" Alice asked.
"Yeah," Pyrrha said as she shifted Milo into its spear form. She held her shield up while Alice brandished Golden Lily.
"On my mark," Goodwitch signed as she raised her riding crop. The weapon glowed with a violet hue as a glyph appeared in front of her. She waved the crop, activating the fire dust and channeling them into several flaming spheres. She fired them at the gate, causing it to explode upon contact. The gate was blown wide open with the explosion sending the entire camp into panic and disarray.
"Go go go!" Glynda said as she used her semblance to levitate whole portions of the wooden wall off the ground.
In an instant, several bandits rushed at them with their weapons drawn. Nora ran forward, defending their professor as she lobbed the walls aside. She swung Magnahild, slamming into a bandit and breaking their aura as they were sent flying back into the smoke.
A bandit fired at her but the bullet was cut in half by Alice, who then used aura to enhance her speed as she knocked the bandit out with the butt of her sword.
Using her semblance, her sword glowed with golden flames as she unleashed a swathe of golden energy at her opponents. The energy wave wiped out the remaining portions of the wall as well as some of the tents.
"Fire at will!"
A hail of bullets flew towards Alice but was stopped in midair by an unknown force. Pyrrha had her hands held out as she swung her arms to the left, sending all the bullets flying elsewhere.
Glynda moved her wand, forming spears out of the surrounding debris and firing them at the bandits, taking great care not to kill any of them. This was her camp and all she needed to do was get Jaune and Ren and leave. Ozpin would understand and brush the entire mission under the rug.
Her eyes narrowed as she incapcitated another bandit. How had the mission details for this mission been so sparse? It was odd. Most missions like this had general details such as target name and information but this one, this one was nearly blank other than the bandits.
She sidestepped a bandit's machete as she brought her knee up into his gut. He gasped before falling to the ground, clutching his torso.
"Alice? Can you feel Jaune?" Glynda said as she slapped a bandit with her riding crop. The added force of her telekinesis sent her flying through two trees.
"I can," she dodged a bandit and knocked him out.
"Where?"
"Up…," she blocked a bandit's sword before pushing him back and kicking him into a barrel, "ahead! But there's one more thing!"
"What is it?" Glynda asked.
"There's something else here! It's strong. Really strong!" she said.
Glynda noted her words. It made her feel uneasy but she needed to cast those feelings aside at the moment.
Without hesitation, she kept pushing forward, knocking bandits aside.
A small distance from them, Nora and Pyrrha were fighting their own battles. Nora was currently engaging an absolute unit of a bandit. They swung their massive hammer at Nora, which she dodged. She ran around it, looking for an opening as he swung his hammer with surprising speed.
Meanwhile, Pyrrha weaved around several bandits, using a combination of parries and shield bashes to incapacitate them. She used her semblance subtly like always, making it so that their attacks never really even hit her. A bandit with a rifle aimed at her and fired. Years of trained instincts prepared her as she swung her sword to slice the bullet in half. Her eyes widened when a hail of bullets headed towards her. She raised her shield to block some of them as she tried to dodge and weave. Never in her life had she been more thankful to have aura. If not for that and a combination of Akouo, she would've died on the spot. She threw her shield at a bandit, knocking them off their feet.
As she ran over, she felt something fly by her and saw the muscular bandit crash into a stack of boxes and the remaining bandits. Pyrrha looked over her shoulder and saw Nora cackling as she began to spin like a top, swinging Magnahild like a deranged Queen of Red. Bandits were knocked to and fro wherever she spun.
She shook her head. But as she was distracted, she felt someone coming up to her. Reacting on instinct, she swung her sword. Her eyes widened when she felt a warm liquid splash on her face. In front of her was the bandit, who she had knocked over with Akouo. Blood poured down his throat as it was split open. Her green eyes wide with horror as he tried to speak, blood gushing out of his severed carotid artery. His trachea was also cut open, as his larynx was split into two.
She backed away, hyperventilating as the man fell before her gasping for air, desperately trying to cover his throat as he bled out. She nearly dropped Milo as she watched the light slowly fade from his eyes.
What have you done? Killer. Murderer. You killed him.
She shook her head as she tried to keep the bile from escaping her mouth. She didn't kill him on purpose. She was defending herself. She didn't want to kill him.
"No, I didn't mean to do it," she whispered as she slowly backed away. In her horror, she never saw the bandit with the ax behind her.
This woman. He killed his friend. And now… now she would pay with her very life. He raised his ax and prepared to bring it down on her unsuspecting back.
"Pyrrha!"
Her eyes widened as she turned around too late. The ax swung down at her but was deflected when a violet blast of energy sent the bandit flying. She fell on her ass as Jaune rushed up to her with his hands glowing.
"Pyrrha!" he said, snapping his fingers.
She flinched as she turned to look at him with wide eyes. She raised her hands shakily.
"I- I didn't mean to! I didn't mean to kill him I swear!" she said, frantically as she gripped Jaune's sweater. His face grimaced as he turned around to see the bandit with the sliced open neck. He could clearly tell that it was Pyrrha who had done it. The blood of Milo, coupled with her panicked and guilty expression, made it all the more solid for him.
"I know it wasn't your fault okay! But I need you to pull yourself together," Jaune said as he cupped her cheek. She looked at him, still wide-eyed and in horror as he spoke. She gulped and nodded shakily as she picked up Milo. Jaune used an aura arm to grab Akouo and handed it to her.
"Ren! You got Nora?" he yelled.
"I'm the Queen of the Castle!"
A bandit landed in front of them, unconscious and most likely suffering from a concussion.
"Yeah," he said as the two walked up to them.
"Jaune, you're here," Glynda said as she and Alice ran up to them.
"Miss Goodwitch! Oh thank Mikhael! We need your help! The bandit chief… she-!"
"So, I was right. Ozpin was involved in this if he sent his number one bitch here to take care of things," a voice said.
Glynda's eyes widened as she infused a glyph with ice dust. A red blade pierced through it stopping mere centimeters from her eye.
"Raven," she said as the blade retracted from her eye. The barrier was suddenly sliced to pieces as the woman stood before them.
"Glynda," she said.
Jaune and Ren noticed something different about her. Her mask was on as opposed to when she was talking to them. Was she hiding her face from Professor Goodwitch? It didn't seem like she was. After all, from the sound of it, the two knew each other rather well.
"Raven, we didn't know it was your bandit tribe," Glynda said. "This was just a run of the mill search and destroy in this quadrant."
"Really now? If it was like that, then why are you here? Surely, the Deputy Headmistress of Beacon Academy would not sully herself with such a mundane mission. Or is being Opzin's puppet getting boring for you?" she asked, tilting her head slightly as she placed her katana back in its stocky sheathe.
"No. As a Huntress, this is my job as much as it is my job to educate future generations," Glynda replied.
"You're deluding yourself," Raven said as she gripped her blade.
Glynda reflexively pointed her riding crop at her upon seeing the action.
"Let me and my team walk out of here safely," Glynda said in a low tone.
"Or?" Raven asked.
The Deputy Headmistress narrowed her eyes as she willed several pieces of shrapnel to levitate in the air.
Raven remained silent and kept her grip tightly on the sword.
"While you may be able to defeat me, I don't think you can take on all six of us," Glynda said.
"Really now? Is that what you think?"
Glynda's eyes widened as she found herself holding Raven's sword back with her semblance.
I barely saw her move, she thought as she pushed back. Raven slid back a few inches before she brought her leg up and kicked Glynda in the side, causing her to lose focus.
Glynda's eyes widened as she stumbled. Raven took advantage of this and caught her off guard, slicing her leg. Glynda winced. She created a glyph, using Gravity Dust and forced Raven back.
"We have to help her," Jaune said.
"Wait, Jaune. We don't even know how strong she is," Ren said, grabbing his shoulder.
"But we can't just stand here and do nothing!" he said. He wrenched free from Ren's grip and ran in. He fused Sol and Luna together, swinging his sword at Raven. The woman didn't even bat an eyelash as she stepped to the side.
"Weak," she said as she kicked Jaune into a tent.
"Jaune!" Alice said.
Glynda got up and lifted Raven's massive tent off the ground. She threw her riding crop forward, sending the massive wooden structure at her. Raven's eyes widened as she jumped into the air, flipping out of the way. She felt something strike her aura as she saw Ren and Pyrrha firing their weapons at her.
"Haaah!"
A force knocked all the air out of her lungs as she was sent crashing into the pile of boxes. She looked up and rolled out of the way as Nora slammed the head of Magnahild into the ground.
Wasting no time, Raven drew her katana rapidly, dealing severe damage to Nora's aura. The girl stumbled back before Raven kneed her in the face. Sensing another attack, she jumped as a violet blast of energy flew past her.
"Annoying," she said as she shifted her feet and rammed the butt of her sword into Jaune's stomach.
His eyes widened as she had correctly predicted his surprise attack. She grabbed his arm and threw him at Alice, whose eyes widened as she formed arms to catch her twin.
She moved to attack the two when she felt something wrap around her. Her head turned to see Glynda holding her in place. Her hand was outstretched this time. She knew that the Deputy Headmistress was being serious if she wasn't using her riding crop as a medium for her semblance.
"Give up Raven," Glynda said, "And let us go…"
Raven closed her eyes. She would have to use it. She promised to herself that she wouldn't unless needed but this situation was an emergency. Her tribe was in danger from being… being overtaken by these people. She knew that she couldn't kill Glynda specifically. However, the students were a much different story.
"No," she said.
"Please, we'll leave you alone," Glynda said.
"There's no guarantee of that happening. You and I both know that… so I need to set a precedent. A deterrent to keep you from doing so," she said.
Underneath her mask, her eyes were shrouded in an aura of red flames.
Jaune and Alice's bodies stiffened. There it was. That odd sensation that the woman radiated. It was growing stronger by the second.
In a flash, Raven drew her sword, sending a wave of cutting lighting at Glynda. The woman dodged as the lighting sliced the tent, wall, and then a large portion of the forest behind Glynda.
W- What was that? Glynda thought with wide eyes.
"N- No way," Pyrrha said.
"H- How are we supposed to fight that?" Alice said.
Jaune gritted his teeth as he looked at the widespread destruction that had occurred within the snap of this finger. This woman before them was a walking apocalypse. If she was capable of doing that by swinging her sword, he didn't even want to think of what would happen if she got serious.
Behind Glynda, the ground was scorched along with the swathe of forest that used to be there. The trees were all cut down and charred. Dead animals and the carcasses of grimm could be seen.
"I can't kill you, Glynda Goodwitch, but… that doesn't mean that your students are safe. I know Ozpin. That man you've deluded yourself into thinking is doing things for the greater good. He's done nothing but sacrifice lives in an impossible war," Raven said as she drew her sword, "So I'll show him what will happen when he decides to bring me and my family into his battles… I'll show him what happens when he decides to invade my home and kill one of my own."
"Raven, you don't have to do this," she said. Her eyes widened when Raven appeared in front of her. She raised a Glyph in time as Raven swung her sword, shattering her Glyph easily. She was sent flying across the camp and crashed through the wall and into a tree.
"Blame Ozpin for this. For sending you here and killing one of my own," she said as she walked forward.
"Professor!" Jaune yelled.
"Nora, wait!" Ren yelled as Nora ran past him.
She shifted Magnahild to its grenade launcher form and fired at Raven. She dodged the canisters, kicking some away. She appeared in front of Nora and brought her blade down, only to be blocked by Alice, who had gotten in between them and erected a shield.
Raven jumped back as Alice swung her sword at her. She narrowed her eyes.
A barrier semblance?
She moved her body as Jaune and Pyrrha swung their weapons at her.
"Flower Power!" Jaune yelled as he and Pyrrha leaped back.
Ren fired a hail of bullets at Raven, forcing her on the defensive as she deflected all his bullets. Her instincts screamed at her as she jumped into the air, watching as Nora crashed down. Her hammer created a large explosion that forced her back as she landed and dug her sword into the ground to prevent from being blown back.
"Yin and Yang!"
Raven raised her blade in time to block Alice's golden sword as she effortlessly held the younger girl off. Jaune came at her from behind with Sol and Luna unfused to cut into her aura. She narrowed her eyes as she forced Alice off and kicked her into a tent before slashing Jaune across the chest. He stepped back as he felt the sword cut through his chest plate and into his chest. Luckily, his aura was already at work, healing him.
"Jaune!" Pyrrha yelled.
She threw her shield at Raven, who dodged it. Pyrrha ran at her, swinging her sword at the Bandit Chief. Raven blocked and parried, countering with a forward slash. Pyrrha attempted to subtly use her semblance to redirect the trajectory but was surprised to feel nothing? She dodged, barely avoiding Raven's blade and escaped with a nick on her cheek.
"W- What…?" she mumbled.
"Pyrrha, look out!" Jaune yelled.
Her eyes widened when a violet shield enveloped her, barely blocking the blade as it partially went through.
Raven clicked her tongue as she pulled the blade out and slashed Jaune, forcing him to barely block.
He gritted his teeth as she forced him back. This woman. Raven. She was just toying with them. She wasn't even taking them seriously.
He looked over at his twin, whose eyes shifted to gold. He pushed back against Raven, his eyes shifting to violet as he forced her back with a violent shockwave. Her eyes widened as she was caught off guard by the sudden burst in power. Raven turned to see Alice coming at her with her blade lit ablaze by a golden flame.
Raven narrowed her eyes under her mask. Red flames shrouded her eyes as she channeled that strange energy once more. Alice's senses went off as she was sent flying by an intense highly pressurized blast of air. She coughed up blood as she hit the wall. She slid down, feeling an intense pain in her upper torso. Three of her ribs had broken on impact with the wind and her arm was broken upon hitting the wall at such high speeds.
"F- Fuck!" she said as she held her broken arm. Her hand was lit by golden flames as she tried to force her aura to her broken arm. The golden glow in her eye intensified as she slowly but surely healed herself.
Raven glanced at Alice and then Jaune. She felt it. That odd power coming from them. Ever since she inherited this one, she had been able to sense things such as Qrow flying over her camp. She certainly felt these two when they were within proximity of her camp. Were they like her and her brother? Did Ozpin do something to them?
"Alice!" Jaune yelled.
Alice? That's the name of…, Raven's eyes widened as she looked at the two more closely and everything clicked. These two were Sieg and Jeanne's kids.
She raised her sword and deflected Ren's bullets before kicking Jaune away. Nora's hammer came into her view. She hopped over it and performed a roundhouse kick on Nora, sending her crashing into a tent.
"Ren!" Jaune ran after Raven as she appeared in front of his friend.
Ren dodged as she slashed at him before countering with Stormflower's blades. Raven moved out of the way before being thrown by an unseen force. She righted herself in mid-air but was locked there. Her eyes narrowed as she saw Glynda limping towards where she hovered.
"It's over, Raven. Like I said, you can't take on all six of us," Glynda said as she pushed up her cracked glasses.
"...," Raven remained silent as she focused. She would break Goodwitch's hold. It was easy for her now. After all, she had new tricks up her sleeve.
Glynda's eyes widened when she felt her hold shatter as lightning exploded from Raven. She created a glyph to block one of the lightning bolts but failed to see Raven appearing next to her.
Raven thrust her palm forward, using her aura to enhance her speed and strength. Glynda was sent flying into a stack of barrels. As she groaned, Raven's foot filled her vision. Luckily, her foot never made contact with her face as a pair of energy hands wrapped around Raven.
"Ragggh!" Jaune pulled as he threw Raven into the air. He pulled out Sol and threw it at her. She scoffed as she twisted her body around the Scythe. As she turned, she drew her sword and deflected Luna's blade, sending Jaune back down to the ground.
Jaune clicked Luna's gravity dust and attracted Sol. Sol flew at rapid speeds towards Raven's unprotected back. However, years of battle and training had honed her senses. She sensed Sol flying at her and dodged it. She landed in front of him and sheathed her blade.
He gulped. This woman wasn't getting tired. He glanced at Ren, who was panting, and Nora, who used Magnahild to support himself. His sister was clutching her ribs with her non-broken arm and Pyrrha was in the same league as Ren. Goodwitch was injured from the wounds she suffered from that surprise attack. The odds were slowly going in the favor of their opponent rather than them, despite the presence of Pyrrha and Goodwitch combined with their superior numbers.
Was it that weird energy that was a contributing factor in all this? Jaune had felt it flare a few times and he was sure Alice felt it too, especially during that lightning attack that the woman used to break Goodwitch's telekinetic hold. Was it some sort of semblance? He didn't know what but he knew that it was turning the odds in her favor and not theirs.
Raven took a step forward, prompting Team JNPAR to take one step back. This was no longer about bringing her in. This was about survival. This woman was fighting to kill, not capture. No. They had heard her. She would use them to set an example to never go after her. They had gone poking a sleeping bear and this was the price they had to pay.
But he swore that this wouldn't happen. Jaune began to think of a plan. A way to get out of here.
Raven eyed them all. She needed to finish this. The negativity of this battle would attract Grimm and she didn't need that. She already lost one and had over a dozen injured men and women.
Jaune made eye contact with Pyrrha, Ren, Nora, and his sister. They all gave him subtle nods. Now would be a good time for them to use a team combo into action. Weeks of drilling this for their anticipated matches at the Vytal Tournament.
Without warning, Jaune and Alice both fired an energy blast at Raven. The woman's eyes narrowed as she dodged them. The bolts destroyed the tents behind her. Ren appeared next to her and delivered an aura infused palm strike to her torso, sending her sliding to the left.
Raven nearly cried out in pain when she felt something break her ribs. She flew through the air and crashed into a tent.
Groaning, she got up and rolled out of the way as a large metal rod flew at her.
"Team JNPAR Combination: Berry Blitz," Jaune said as he and Alice channeled their semblance and fired it at Raven.
She ran at them, ducking and twisting around the two blasts. Ren and Nora intercepted her with Nora launching Ren at Raven. She jumped and kneed Ren in the face, breaking his nose and sending the man, crashing into Nora.
Alice raised Golden Lily to block Raven's katana. However, her katana halted in mid-air, wrapped in a violet glow.
Goodwitch had her riding crop pointed at Raven. She held her katana back with her semblance.
Raven growled. She clicked a button on the hilt and dislodged the blade, allowing her to move her arm. She sheathed her hilt and moved as Alice swung her sword.
Alice thrust her sword forward, only for Raven to dodge and kick her away. Glynda sent some debris at Raven. Raven quickly drew her blade, slicing them apart. In a burst of speed, she appeared in front of Goodwitch and engaged her in combat.
Glynda dodged one of Raven's strikes and another before using her semblance to throw Raven back.
Raven's eyes glowed underneath her mask as she used the power and her aura to enhance her speed once more and flickered out of Glynda's vision. The witch was barely able to react as Raven grabbed her face and shocked her.
"AGGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHH!" Glynda screamed as a large voltage of electricity engulfed her. She fell to the ground unconscious.
"Professor!" Jaune yelled.
His eyes widened when Raven appeared in front of him. She kicked him back, sending him into a tent. Jaune got up and blocked Raven's sword with Sol. He swung Luna at her torso, only for her to dodge. She rammed the butt of her sword into his face before kicking him. He slid back, using Sol to keep from falling on his back. He fell to one knee and panted. His aura was extremely low and he couldn't keep this up. If she attacked, he would die.
Pyrrha watched as Raven began to crouch, her sword poised to strike at Jaune. She began to move. Jaune was tired. Even with all his training, she knew that his stamina and aura was low. One strike would be the difference between life and death and this woman was far faster than any of them with the exception of Goodwitch.
She ran in as Raven moved, pumping every drop of aura she could squeeze out and used it to enhance her speed.
Jaune prepared to intercept Raven when she blurred out. As he prepared to raise a barrier, his eyes widened as a warm liquid splash on his face.
Pyrrha stood above him. Her eyes were filled with pain as she gave him a small smile. A trickle of blood ran down her mouth. His eyes roamed from her face to her chest as a red blade was seen sticking out of it.
"P- Pyrrha?" his eyes were filled with horror at the sight.
"J- Jaune, I- I'm sorry…," she rasped out as she felt Raven pull the blade out of her chest. She fell forward but was caught by Jaune.
"PYRRHA!"
Hey guys! Sorry for the late post. I had an extremely busy week this week. Presentations. Quizzes. I also took the HESI so that became my top priority alongside a bunch of deadlines. Anyway, lots of things happened in this chapter. Sorry not sorry for the end. Heh. Anyways, stay safe guys. Wear a mask. Wash your hands. And to my Murica readers, stay safe this Thanksgiving.
