I don't own RWBY. Rooster Teeth does.
"Have Team RWBY returned yet?" Ozpin asked.
"No, not yet," Glynda said after placing her report down on his desk. Ozpin noted her tired face. He couldn't blame her. After all she had been through in the past couple of days, she needed a break. Maybe he needed one too.
His mind was still wrapped around his latest discovery. This had made Pyrrha an invaluable piece in his mind, a piece possibly on par with Ruby. Maybe those two working together could be the game-breaking mechanic that he needed. But how?
"Is something wrong?" Glynda asked, noticing the deep expression on Ozpin's face.
"Huh? Oh, no there's nothing wrong," Ozpin said. "Just thinking of the future."
"Well Miss Nikos, we just need to perform a few more checkups and you'll be free to go," the doctor said, checking a few things on her clipboard.
Pyrrha smiled. It had only been two days since she had woken up from her coma and she was already sick of the infirmary. The doctor had told her that there was nothing wrong with her physically but they were only keeping her here to observe her. Not that she minded. She wanted to be in tip-top condition when she got out.
"How long do you think they'll take?" Pyrrha asked.
"Just a couple of minutes. Your friends are already waiting outside. If you would come with me, we need to go measure your aura levels to make sure that nothing's wrong with them," the doctor said.
"Are you excited?" Alice asked. Jaune had been pacing back and forth outside of the infirmary. He was obviously being impatient, seeing as he had dragged them out the minute Port's class had ended. Nora and Ren just sat next to her, observing their leader's behavior.
"You know pacing isn't going to make this go faster. The doctor said she wanted to perform a few more tests on Pyrrha before clearing her," Ren said, leaning back in the chair.
"Yeah, Jaune. If you walk in circles any faster, you'll drill a hole all the way to the center of Remnant," Nora said after swallowing a mouthful of chips.
"Sorry. I guess I just got a bit too excited," Jaune said, rubbing the back of his head. "I really can't wait to have her out here again and not trapped inside the infirmary."
"Yeah, we could tell," his sister said, yawning loudly into her hand.
"Well, well, if it isn't Jaune."
That voice made them all freeze as they turned to see Pyrrha's half-sister walking into Beacon's Infirmary. Her pink predatory eyes trained solely on Jaune as she sauntered her way over to them. Her walk had a slightly seductive sway to it. It was almost hypnotic even.
"What do you want?" Nora asked, her voice filled with hostility.
"Oh dear, how rude. I didn't even do anything to you and you're already regarding me as an enemy," Venus said, placing her hands on her hips.
"Why are you here?" Jaune asked.
"I'm just here to see my dear sister get out of the infirmary. Nothing more," she said, checking her nails. "Unless…" she turned to him and stepped closer. "You wanted there to be another reason I was here."
"Um." Jaune began to back away as she took another step closer.
"Back off." Alice stepped up and got in between the two. "Not another step closer."
"Aww. I was just being friendly," Venus said, chuckling. "You really need to stop being so overprotective. Your twin can make his own decisions after all."
"I'd like it if you stopped being acting so overly familiar with me," Jaune said, from behind Alice's back. Alice smirked upon hearing those words and looked at Venus challengingly, daring her to do something.
The pink-eyed Olympia knew when she was at a disadvantage. Four against one were not odds that she liked and while she was confident in being able to hold her own, she was not confident that she would come out unscathed, much less win.
"Fine fine. Just wanted to say hi is all," Venus said.
The door opened, catching their attention as Pyrrha walked out with the doctor. The Champion's mood was instantly soured as soon as she laid eyes on her sister. Venus sent her a disarming smile, which proved ineffective as Pyrrha's anger bubbled beneath the surface.
"Hello, Pyrrha. I was just stopping by to check on you," Venus said, walking over to her, "I was so worried that you'd get hurt."
"Save your crap. You and I both know that you don't care," Pyrrha said.
"Oh sis, what cruel words. Of course, I care about you. I care about you more than you know." The way Venus had said it sent shivers down Pyrrha's spine. Pyrrha had known Venus long enough to know that her smile was nothing but trouble.
Venus leaned in and whispered something inaudible into Pyrrha's ear, causing her eyes to go wide with anger and fear.
Having said her piece, she pulled away and placed her hands on her sister's shoulders. That smile grew wider.
"Well, I hope you have fun, sister. Do remember what was exchanged just now and enjoy your time," Venus said. She began to walk away from the group with a small smile on her face.
Enjoy it while it lasts, fufufu, she thought as she walked out the door.
"What a bitch," Alice remarked.
Jaune looked to Pyrrha, who just stood there with a shell shocked expression on her face.
"You alright, Pyrrha?" Jaune asked.
His voice snapped her out of her trance as she blinked rapidly. She looked at her friends, who had concerned expressions on their faces and put on a smile.
"It's nothing. Nothing just… my sister being a bitch like Alice said," Pyrrha said as she walked towards them.
The rest looked at each other, not buying a word of what she said. However, they all came to a mental consensus to ask her about it later when they were in private. Bringing out all of Pyrrha's issues with her family in public was most likely not the best way to go about it.
"Waaaahhh! It's so good to be out here again!" Pyrrha said, stretching her arms. Fresh air. It was something she had been robbed of ever since they got back from their mission. It was nice to feel it and inhale it. The feeling of it filling every cell in her lungs, expanding her alveoli to their limits. It was euphoric.
"I never knew that someone could react this way to breathing air," Nora said, smiling at Pyrrha's actions.
"I mean, try being cooped up in Beacon's Infirmary where you smell nothing but antiseptics and other chemicals," Ren said.
"So, we should talk about what to do next," Alice said.
"Ally's right. We need to talk about the future. Obviously, none of us were prepared for what happened during our mission. And it's become glaringly clear that we all need to take classes on how to perform emergency aid on the battlefield. Just in case," Jaune said.
"Right, that too but I was thinking more along the lines of a certain tournament that's coming up. How will we participate in it?" Alice asked.
"I don't think we should." Those very words caught all their attention as they turned to the person responsible for saying it. Pyrrha looked at them all with a small smile on her face.
"The Vytal Tournament is a tournament between the various student teams of Beacon and the other Huntsman Academies across Remnant and the number of each team has always been four. I doubt they'd change the rules just for us so I propose that we don't participate. At least, not this year," Pyrrha said.
"Not participate? Didn't Goodwitch say that this was part of our grade?" Nora asked.
"Whatever we choose, in the end, Jaune has to make the final decision. He is our team leader after all," Ren said.
"Hmm… I think that-"
Before Jaune could get any words out, the blaring sounds of sirens shattered the peace of Beacon. Similar sirens could be heard coming from the direction of Vale. Jaune looked out over to the city and saw a massive plume of smoke rising up from it. A shattering pulse of pain shot through his head as he fell to his knee.
"Jaune!" the others gathered around their downed leader as he gripped the side of his head with one hand.
W- What is this… this overwhelming bloodlust!? He thought as he fought to compose himself. Jaune had just felt an overwhelming concentration of the need to destroy. The collective desire to kill everything. But… what could radiate such powerful killing intent? No, he knew the answer. People like that Bandit Chief could do it. It was powerful yes but… this. No human could possibly match the overwhelming need to destroy. None could match the ferocity of the Grimm. His fears were confirmed when Nyx spoke.
"It's the Grimm. Master, there are Grimm invading the city." Nyx popped her head out of Jaune's hoodie. She barked and pointed her snout at Vale.
"We… We need to go over there," Jaune said, getting to his feet.
"Why… what's happening?" Alice asked.
"I have… I have a bad feeling. I think there are-"
"Grimm," Pyrrha finished. Her eyes looked from Jaune to the city.
"Y- Yes." Jaune stopped when he saw the far-off look in Pyrrha's eyes. "Pyrrha? Are you alright?"
Her eyes became unfocused as small red sparks began to appear around her hands. She needed to get over there. She needed to. It was where she was supposed to be. It was where-
"Huh?" The color returned to her eyes as she blinked several times. What was she just thinking about?
"..." Alice looked at her with slight suspicion. What just happened?
"We need to get on a bullhead and head to Vale," Jaune said. "That siren only goes off in case of Grimm attacks. We learned about it in Port's class the other day and if it's going off, that means that Grimm have invaded the city. We need to go help the Huntsman there and evacuate the city."
"Wait, but Pyrrha just recovered. She needs to rest," Alice said.
"No, wait! I can go! I'm fi-"
"Ally's right, Pyr. You need to stay here and recover," Jaune said.
"But! I can fight! I don't need to stay here," Pyrrha argued.
"No buts Pyrrha. We can't have you land back in the infirmary because an internal wound opened or something," he retorted. It was far more than that. He didn't want to see it happen again. He knew that injury was a normal part of this life that they chose but… he didn't want it to happen so soon. Especially with her just now recovering from her wounds, risking her on the battlefield this early was not only a tactically stupid decision, it was a morally wrong one as well.
"Jaune," Pyrrha growled.
"No, and that's final. You need to stay here until the doctor gives you the all-clear to Hunt. Being dismissed from the infirmary doesn't give you permission to go out and land yourself back in again," Jaune said.
"The doctor said I'm fine! I'm fine, Jaune!" Pyrrha fired back.
The other three looked between the two as their argument escalated. Alice felt a bit guilty, seeing as how she basically started this but she had a point. Pyrrha just got out of the infirmary and her muscles were bound to be weakened from spending so long in bed. Sending her out as she is would be… well, it would be stupid.
"Pyrrha, you just got out of a coma. Do you really think you're fit to fight?" Jaune asked.
"I am. Just please, Jaune let me go with you guys! I can still help," Pyrrha said.
"Pyrrha. Jaune is right. You need to rest. You just got out of the infirmary and just woke up from your coma. You're in no condition to fight right now, discharged or not," Ren said, siding with his leader.
In fact, he knew that none of them wanted Pyrrha to go out and fight so soon. She wasn't ready yet. A few days of rest to help her get better would be the best course of action as they had repeatedly tried to get her to do.
Pyrrha glared at the four, who stood firm under the sheer force of her gaze. Seeing that she wasn't winning this one, Pyrrha spun on her heel and stormed back into Beacon. Nora gazed at the retreating back of her friend with uncharacteristic silence before turning to her team leader.
"Are you sure we shouldn't let her go?" Nora asked.
"No, she's not ready to go back out there yet. She just got out," Jaune said, "I'm not letting her risk her life like this. Not when we just got her back."
He sighed and ran a hand through his blonde hair. This was surely going to come back and bite him in the ass later but it was completely necessary. It was for her own good after all.
"Come on," Jaune said as he and the rest of the team called their lockers before making their way to the landing bay.
As soon as she was sure that no one could see her, Pyrrha made a sharp turn to the landing pads. She needed to get there after the rest of her team took off to Vale. Looking down at what she wore, she decided to make her way to their dorm to get changed into her combat gear, assuming that it was still there and not damaged.
After arriving, she confirmed that her gear was indeed too damaged for her to use.
"Now what," Pyrrha said, placing a hand on her chin. Could she even fit in anyone else's gear? Looking between Nora and Alice's beds, she wondered whose gear she could borrow.
Nora… no, she's too short. Alice? Hmmm. Pyrrha walked over to the closet in their room and found a small mini shelf with Alice's name on it. None of them were her gear. Just some blouses, shirts, pants, a few skirts, her uniform, and several extra pairs of hoodies.
"I can't go in my casual clothes but, it looks like that's the case," Pyrrha muttered. She looked at her own shelf and found something appropriate. A red jacket. Not what she had in mind but it would do. After finding the rest of her clothes, she made her way to the locker room and retrieved her weapons.
"At least you two are still in good shape," Pyrrha said, looking at her beloved weapons. Her mind drifted back to what her friends had said.
Maybe they… Maybe they were right. Maybe I shouldn't… I would just get in the way, she thought as she closed her locker.
Pyrrha sighed and sat on one of the chairs in the locker room. Who was she kidding? Her friends were just looking out for her and they had a point. She had just gotten out of the infirmary and was most likely weakened from her coma. She was likely going to hold them back more than anything. Coming to terms with her current situation, Pyrrha just sat there in the chair. But that didn't make her feel better. She wanted to help. She needed to help. But what was she to do, Pyrrha Nikos had been grounded by her team.
Pyrrha looked at her hand, opening and closing her fist. She needed to get back into shape. She needed to train. A small red spark of electricity lit up inside and around her eye briefly in response to her drive as she got up.
The alarm continued to blare in the background. Her scroll buzzed with an alert. Thinking it was from her team calling for backup, she unlocked her scroll and gasped in horror.
"Guys… I think we're fucked," Yang said, standing back to back with the rest of her team. Even she thought they had bitten off far more than they could possibly chew. This wasn't your average pack or swarm, no this was a horde. A full-on horde.
"No it's not," Ruby said, gripping Crescent Rose tightly. "All we need to do is hold off until reinforcements arrive."
"Ruby's right. This many Grimm and the wall breaking should've alerted Beacon and the General's army. All we need to do is hang on for a few minutes," Blake said.
"Easier said than done," Weiss retorted.
An ear-piercing roar shattered their little pow-wow as the Grimm began to charge at them. Ruby leaped into action, slamming the blade of Crescent Rose into the ground. Using like a screw, she kicked all the oncoming Beowolves while using Crescent Rose to spin in a circle.
Above her, her sister used Ember Celica to gain air time, firing several fire dust-laced rounds into the horde of Ursas and Beowolves. The sounds of avian shrieks caught her attention as a flock of nevermore dove towards her. She raised her arms in a crossguard as she was thrown into the street below a distance away from Blake.
Blake summoned her clones, evading each strike. Gambol Shroud was in its tanto form as she impaled a Beowolf in the head. Swiftly pulling out the blade, she transformed it into a pistol and shot the oncoming Grimm.
Her golden eyes darted around the field before pulling her gun and aiming at Weiss, who had been using a combination of Dust Arts, Myrtenaster, and Glyphs to overwhelm the Grimm that were swarming her. An Ursa reared up behind Weiss and prepared to take her head off with its paw.
"Weiss! DUCK!"
The white-haired girl did as instructed as Blake threw Gambol Shroud, hitting the Ursa in the throat. She retracted the ribbon as she zipped towards it. Blake planted her foot in its head, kicking it back.
"Weiss! Checkmate!"
Weiss nodded and smirked as she stabbed Myrtenaster into the ground, creating a massive glyph under the Ursa. A massive spear of ice erupted from the ground, spit roasting it and killing it immediately.
"Hmph." Blake smiled as she landed next to her. Her triumph was short-lived when she saw Ruby being cornered by a King Taijitu. The snake opened its mouth to strike her when the sound of a rocket could be heard, drawing the attention of the Grimm.
"NOOOOOOOOOO….!"
"Is that?" Weiss said, lowering Myrtenaster slightly.
"RAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA…!"
"Uh oh," Ruby said as she began to run.
"SMAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAASH!"
Ruby activated her semblance and sped away as the pink comet known as Nora descended from the skies and slammed Magnahild into the King Taijitu's head. A massive shockwave blew away the nearby Grimm and shattered every window within three hundred feet of her. The massive serpent's head popped like a grape as its lifeless body collapsed. Nora used the rebound of the attack to leap back and land a distance away at a set of stairs.
"Nora, look out!"
Nora turned and smiled as an Alpha Beowolf stood behind her and prepared to kill her. She stuck her tongue out as a golden line drew itself on the Grimm, cutting it in half diagonally. The top half slid off, revealing Alice behind it. Her sword, Golden Lily, was coated in a golden aura. The aura formed itself into a blade, extending the reach of the sword beyond its normal capabilities.
"Glad we made it in time," Alice said, flipping her hair.
"Yeah, glad we did." Ren landed next to her, a Nevermore falling dead behind him.
"I can't believe you guys managed to get here before me." Jaune walked up to them, Sol and Luna glinting in the light.
"Ruby! Duck!" Jaune coated Sol in the violet aura and swung it. Ruby ducked underneath the wave of energy that came out of Jaune's scythe. She glanced over her shoulder and watched in horrid fascination as the Grimm behind her were all cut in half.
"Can you do anything about this?" Alice asked.
"Let me try but… there are too many people watching," Jaune said.
"Looks like we're doing this the old fashioned way," Nora said, "I love the old fashioned way."
"The old fashioned way it is then." Jaune transformed Sol and Luna into Eclipse. He raised the sword into the air and pointed it at the Grimm. "Charge! Make sure they don't get out of the pavilion!"
"Roger…" Nora looked at Ren, who sighed and jumped into the air. He landed on the tip head of Magnahild, causing her to smirk. She roared and swung the hammer, sending Ren at blinding speeds towards the Grimm.
Ren spun in mid-air, letting loose a payload of gravity dust-laced bullets. The bullets punched through the Grimm like paper as he landed next to Weiss.
Alice dashed forward, brandishing Golden Lily with a flourish as she sliced and diced her way through the horde. A creep attempted to lunge at her from behind. Her senses went off as she hopped over it. She landed behind it and propelled herself towards it.
The creep split in half down the middle as Alice appeared in front of it with her sword already swung. She huffed as she walked away from the pile of disintegrating corpses behind her.
"Nyx, sorry about killing your kind," Jaune said as he ducked underneath the paw of an Ursa. He used his aura to enhance himself as he drove Eclipse into its torso then upward, bisecting it.
"It is of no concern, Master. My kind already kill each other off in the wild anyway," Nyx said, hiding in his hoodie.
"When are Atlas's forces going to show up?" Jaune mumbled as he sliced apart a Beowolf.
"NOBODY MOVE! JUNIOR DETECTIVES!"
Jaune glanced over his shoulder and saw Sun and Neptune. He smiled, thankful for the backup as an aura tendril ripped apart a Creep that attempted to kill him.
"You guys got badges?" Jaune hollered as he ran over to them.
"You bet we do and-" Neptune was cut off by the roaring sound of several turbine engines. The three looked up in the air as several massive shadows appeared over Vale. Neptune and Sun's jaws dropped while Jaune sighed in relief. Atlas. Atlas was finally here.
"Come on! We gotta help out," Jaune said as he took off to help his team. He ran past the Grimm and the soldiers that dropped from the skies, weapons on the ready.
The raucous sound of gunfire resounded in the city pavilion. Hordes of Grimm were being gunned down left and right as the forces of Atlas moved on them. Jaune ducked under some of the stray gunfire as he split Eclipse back into Sol and Luna. He threw Luna, nailing a Beowolf in the spine before clicking Sol to pull himself towards it.
Upon getting close, he turned off the Gravity Dust and grabbed Luna, killing the Grimm with an upwards slash.
"Miss me?" Jaune said as his back touched his twin's.
"You couldn't have left me alone for a few more minutes?" Alice joked as she lit Golden Lily ablaze with Fire Dust. She thrust her sword forward, piercing a Creep that lunged at her.
"19." Jaune's eye twitched. She was doing that? Well, two could play at that game. He smiled as he swung his kamas, killing another Beowolf.
"19 to 19," he said.
"Make that-" Her swing was interrupted as she was forced to jump to the side in order to avoid an Ursa's paw.
"20." Jaune stabbed the scythe into its jaw, then pulled down to force it to the ground. Raising Luna, he stabbed it into its head.
"Hey! No kill stealing!" she whined.
"Behind you." Jaune pointed at a Beowolf that had its claws ready to rip into her spine. She looked over her shoulder and spun on her heel, slicing in a diagonal motion. The wolf ran past her before falling apart in the middle.
"We're tied again." She sighed and swung her sword as if to get the blood off.
"Hey! Did you save some for us!?" A loud voice called from above.
"Is that?" Alice looked at her brother.
"Yeah… it's Team CFVY. Let's leave this to them. We need to go see if there are any stragglers escaping the area," Jaune said as he watched the massive form of Yatsuhashi land alongside the others.
She nodded and the two took off as the sounds of the concrete shattering and gunfire grew louder with Coco's high caliber minigun.
Said girl saw the two running off and chuckled to herself. Her mood soured when she felt breathing behind her. She pushed her aviators down and looked at the offender.
"More of you… this day just keeps getting worse."
The Grimm roared in her face, getting spittle on her hair and shades. She gritted her teeth as she jammed the barrel of her weapon, Gianduja, into its mouth.
"You know… this line's really cheesy but say hello to my little friend."
Jaune and Alice winced when they heard a yelp as some poor Grimm was utterly reduced to pieces by gunfire. The two ran past other hunters that had arrived to quell the Grimm invasion. However, as they passed a group, both their senses went haywire. The two stopped after running a few more feet before looking behind them.
"Did you…?" Jaune asked.
"Yeah… just like that Raven woman." Alice frowned.
However, they couldn't tell where the source was coming from amidst the chaos. Deciding to find out later, the two ran down the street. However, their trek was cut short when an explosion forced them back.
"Well, well, well, what do we have here? You two aren't part of those team of brats. I almost fired on the wrong one. Sorry but blonde hair's sort of giving me PTSD right now."
Jaune and Alice braced themselves as the sound of footsteps made their way out of the alley next to them. Roman walked out, twirling Melodic Cudgel, and pointed it at the twins.
"You're that guy who piloted the Paladin," Jaune said, merging Sol and Luna together.
"Oh… you remember me?" Roman said. His eyes focused on the two. While they took after Jeanne in looks, the boy seemed to take after Sieg in personality. The girl, however, he had yet to tell which side of the family she took a shine to.
"You're Roman Torchwick right?" Alice asked.
"Oh, Blondie 2.0 knows me?" he asked.
"Blondie 2.0?" Jaune said. "Really?"
"What? It's a good nickname. Jeez… I thought you took after your dad more but it seems that you have more of your mom in you than I thought," Roman said.
"Mom… how do you know our mom?" Alice asked.
"Wow. Just wow. That really hurts Blondie," Roman muttered under his breath.
"Talk. How do you know our mom?" Jaune said as violet flames manifested around his sword.
"She really didn't tell you?" Roman said.
"What are you talking about?" Alice said.
"Well-"
"Watch out you two!"
Jaune and Alice turned around to see Mercury sprinting past them. He jumped into the air and performed a roundhouse kick on Roman, catching him off guard. Roman flew into a wall, breaking it and landing inside a store.
"What are you doing?" Mercury whirled on them with an annoyed look on his face. He didn't mind kicking Roman's teeth in but… Cinder wanted him unharmed. That plan went out the window the minute there were witnesses around.
"We just ran into him," Jaune said.
"Yeah, we just did. Really. Thanks for the assist," Alice added.
"Yeah. Next time, when you see a criminal, detain him instead of standing there and doing nothing," Mercury said. "I got it from here. You two go and see if there's anyone that needs help."
"Are you sure?" Jaune asked.
"Yeah. I'm sure," he said, "Besides, my partner will be here soon. She's kinda slow so it'll take her a bit."
The two looked at each other apprehensively before nodding and running off. Mercury looked at their retreating backs before walking over to the downed Roman inside the store.
"Did you really have to kick me that hard?" Roman said, rubbing his jaw.
"You know she'll want some answers right?" the silver-haired boy said.
"..." Roman grimaced at the thought of having to be interrogated by Cinder. He looked down at the ground. His conversation was interrupted. Oh well, there were plenty of opportunities to get to know Sieg and Jeanne's children. Plenty indeed. After all, there is no prison in the world capable of holding Roman Torchwick. None indeed.
In the end, the Breach was wrapped up and suppressed by a combination of Beacon, Atlas, and Goodwitch. The Huntress had come in just in time to seal up the wall with her semblance in addition to taking out a good portion of the Grimm herself. Roman Torchwick was apprehended as promised by Mercury and his partner. The man was currently being led into an Atlesian Bullhead by Atlesian Forces.
As he was being pushed up the ramp, his eyes landed on Alice and Jaune, who looked back at him. He smiled and waved at them before being shoved into the ship.
"What was that all about?" Nora asked.
"We'll talk later. Right now, we need to get back to Beacon," Jaune said.
"Yeah… this isn't something that should be said out here," Alice said quietly, her eyes looking upon all the people gathered around them. Ren and Nora nodded as the group slipped away from the proceedings.
As they did, Cinder caught them but said nothing, instead noting the look that Roman had given the twins. Did the man know them perhaps? Her eyes flickered a little before she turned her gaze to the ship that held Roman.
"It looks like we need to recoup our losses and add some extra steps to this. But in the end, we will get what we're here for…" Cinder chuckled as she pulled out her scroll and clicked a contact.
Calling… Red Bull
"Are you guys alright?" Pyrrha ran to meet them at the loading bay. She sprinted over and jumped onto Jaune, wrapping her arms around him. He smiled a little and wrapped his arms around her waist.
"We're fine. Thanks for hugging us too," Nora said.
"Oh. I'm sorry." She pulled away from Jaune and hugged Nora tightly.
"No one got hurt thankfully," Jaune said.
"That's good. So fill me in on what happened," Pyrrha said.
"Not here. There are some parts that we need to talk about as a group in private," Alice said, her mind darting back to their encounter with Torchwick.
"Yeah. Come on," Jaune said as the group made their way to their dorm.
A butterfly with iridescent wings flew above them, observing their every move before landing on an obscure spot on the roof where she wouldn't be seen. A flash of light enveloped the butterfly as it morphed, taking the shape of a woman. Her blonde hair glinted in the light of the setting sun as she set her amethyst orbs upon the Beacon Courtyard. Her eyes were still fixed on Team JNPAR.
"Poor girl… you've been shouldered with immense power and you don't even realize it. Perhaps you will be far more competent. May you be as blessed as those who came before you and may you overcome the trials you will face. And Jaune, you've created a storm far greater than I could've ever foreseen. Your move has forced ancient powers to stir from the shadows. Without a doubt that he is catching on to what is happening. Perhaps he isn't as foolish as I initially thought. But if he knows, then it'll only be a matter of time before she finds out. The time of our return is almost at hand… I hope you two are ready for once this storm passes, nothing will ever be the same again." Her form glowed as she dispersed into a flock of butterflies.
Alright, time to clear a few things up before I get this in the reviews. The first and only thing I need to address is Team CFVY. I mentioned in the previous chapter that Port was there, meaning that their mission ended already. I pushed everything back a few days because of Pyrrha's coma. Good? Good.
Alright, I forgot to make a poll so I just read the reviews. Looks like many of you want me to focus on Jaune and Alice's powers which is what I generally expected everyone to say. Good. This worked out in my favor. Anyway, Roman. Roman Roman Roman. Roman's officially met Jaune and Alice. I plan to have Ziggy and Blondie come in later in this Arc, primarily in matters regarding Roman. Willow too. I'll... I will drop some major bombshells that none of you might like or agree with. I predict that... at least 75% of you will drop this story once I do but hey, it's still in the planning stage so it might never come into fruition. Another thing is that I will have Roman talk to Jaune and Alice. I think that's all. I should stop talking before I drop a spoiler by accident.
Now, what did y'all think of the chapter? Good? Please leave a review telling me what you think and remember to have a great day or night, the choice is yours.
